Hotel Chelsea was a SCAM from the moment we walked in. First, they gave us the wrong room: we booked a Queen bed and they gave us a room with two beds. After we went back downstairs and had to ARGUE with the receptionist to get the correct room, we were clearly discriminated against based on how we were treated once we mentioned we're a gay couple. Every inch of the hotel, especially our room, reeked of bleach and there was no way to ventilate the room because the window doesn't open nor is it accessible because it's so high up on the wall you can't open it. It's NOT SAFE to breathe in that smell, and for that reason alone we demanded a refund. Not to mention, nothing about the cramped lobby/ bar or rooms looked like the photos. The room felt like a jail cell with one of the walls painted completely black. It was very dark and depressing compared to the bright and light photos online. Even the complementary happy hour is a joke — you're only allowed to drink gin and vodka, otherwise you have to pay for the drinks… that's false advertising folks. DO NOT STAY HERE — pick ANY other hotel in Miami, this place is a SCAM, and their "amenities" are a joke. We ran out of that room immediately and did not stay here. The Ramada Inn could've provided better service and smells. I don't know how this hotel books any guests, but we intend to get our money back and let everyone know how garbage this "hotel" is.

Cute boutique hotel with art deco accents. Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel restaurant, El Pescaito, has delicious food and the portions are generous. Awesome location. Easily walk to shops, restaurants/bars, museums and of course the beach. The hotel provides a shuttle to and from the Miami International Airport.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

I was looking for a cool boutique hotel in the center of everything South Beach. And the Hotel Chelsea was perfect. The room was immaculately clean. The ac was awesome. And the hotel is a 2 block walk to the beach. Highly Recommend.

Where do I start? From the moment my friend and I arrived at this hotel we were met with kind, welcoming, open arms. The staff and manager were accommodating to any inquiries we made and constantly went above and beyond expectations. Our room served as the perfect place to decompress from the cruise we had just gotten off of and the warm nature of everyone here certainly aided that transition. The rooms were comfortable, the food on the patio was absolutely amazing, the proximity to convenience stores nearby was a huge bonus, the walk to the beach and restaurants and shops nearby was easy, and even fellow hotel guests quickly became friends. I can’t recommend this hotel enough or thank the staff enough for their hospitality and kindness during our stay. We will certainly be back again!

DO NOT STAY HERE if you value sleep or helpful, kind front desk staff. Thank goodness we got a Black Friday special because I would've been livid if I paid full price to stay here. Still wish I had my $150 back and my last day in Miami because I was too exhausted to do any sightseeing… We got back around 10pm from dinner and walking around the city. When we showered, the water went all over the floor because there's no shower door. The water went all over the sink (soaking …and ruining some of my makeup) because the stream of water does reach the bowl unless you turn it completely on. When we finally got to bed after cleaning up the messes, it was ABSURDLY loud. It sounded like the room above us was either rearranging the furniture. That went on until midnight when loud music began playing in a room near us. Even the sound of the A/C couldn't cover up the music playing. I could not sleep at all, so I called the front desk and kindly asked Bonita (not sure if that is how you spell her name) if she could check it out and ask them to turn it down. 30 minutes passed and the music did not get quieter, so I walked down to the front desk and spoke to her directly, which made it apparent to me that the music was coming from the room directly next to me. When I approached the front desk, it appeared as if no one was there because she was slouched down so far in the chair with earphones in. She proceeded to tell me that she walked upstairs and "didn't hear any music.

Once a year I stay at the Chelsea, why? because it’s all about the people. Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms, but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice. Wonderful bar and Oh the cuisine is yummy!

We stayed at this hotel twice and enjoyed it really. First for the location, very close to Ocean Drive and the main attractions of Miami Beach (it's all within easy walking distance), and then for the great value for money. Rooms are clean, with two beds, refrigerator, air conditioning (too loud), iPhone-connected stereo and coffee machine. The bathroom is clean and large (huge shower). The property is then equipped with a bar (from 19:00 to 20:00 drinks are free for happy hour) and tables and outdoor banquettes. The staff are very courteous and helpful (they also helped us settle the issue of a fine we had taken days earlier). Breakfast is not included, but Wi-Fi is fast and also present in the room.
The hotel also provides a great free service to/from the airport (the free shuttle departs every hour, but it's always better to book it in advance because it does the rounds of several hotels and there is a risk of not finding a place) ; Alternatively you can always take the bus number 150, which stops right in front of the hotel.

This hotel is pretty good. Staff is friendly and helpful. The room we booked is small, but that's fine since we'll be out and about seeing the city all day anyway. They do have a cool rooftop bar that's worth checking out. Now I'm being a little nit-picky, but the breakfast isn't impressive at all, but since it's New York you can find any other place for great food.

Great location for a bachelor getaway! Very nice room and staff. Love irina! Free drinks at happy hour everyday! Very clean room and great hospitality! Definitely recommend!

Great place for the price. I would stay again. Lighting is dim in the bathroom. Water is extremely hot. Towels are clean and soft. Housekeeping and staff are pleasant. Try this place out.

I arrived at this adorable Art Deco hotel in South Beach after booking it on a whim this morning when my other travel plans fell through. Angel greeted me warmly at the desk and made sure I had everything I needed. He arranged for transportation to the airport when I leave and was incredibly professional. When I entered my room, I was greeted by ice cold AC, a big sunny window, and a luxe looking bed. The room isn’t huge but it’s spotless and has a mini fridge. After ten minutes of settling in, Angel called up to assure once again that I was well taken care of. Thanks, Hotel Chelsea for being such a pleasant surprise! The personal service and perfect historic setting have put me in a great mood to enjoy my stay. I will be back.

The front desk person was very amicable. The rooms were clean. Not very big but comfortable. 3 stars because there was water leaking from the roof in the lobby. Great location though. 2 blocks from the beach.

Best spot in town. I loved the place and would definitely recommend this to any of my family members or friends if in south beach. This spot is a diamond in the rough. If u want location this Is the place to be Washington inbetween 9th and 10th.

I visited this hotel because a friend of mine and her boyfriend was staying here. Hotel lobby is eye catching. Staircase and hotel rooms are small. Mainly just a bed and minimal walk — way. Had to sit on the ledge of the bed because the only chair in the room was being used by another person in the room. Its nice for sleeping purposes, not if your looking for luxury and great views of the city.

Nothing special, were only on the terrace.

Rooms were very small. Elevator was even smaller, only allowing about two people at a time to occupy it. Reminded me so much of my dorm room from college. They do not have suites, which now makes sense as to why, because it would require some rooms to be bigger. Happy Hour was nice, however, the menu prices does not add up with the cash register prices of the items. Ex. I ordered coconut shrimp as an appetizer. On the menu, it said $12, once I got my receipt, it said $15. Later, I ordered a soda. On the menu, it was $2, once I got my receipt, it was $3. When I inquired about it, the guy was so rude (attitude/slamming register closed and etc). I was able to get it corrected with the manager, who was extremely nice. Soooo, all in all, I cannot see myself staying there again, mainly due to the space.

Its really nice. Even had a Bluetooth radio. Clean. I only wish they had more outlets. Just travel with an extension cord and you'll love it.

This is such a quaint, beautiful little hotel. The patio area needs to be updated but the free happy hour makes up for it!

This hotel works with online booking. The booking website flipped the dates to give me a lower price and I was not aware… making a booking for the wrong date. I called immediately but no person was available to assist. They said correspondence through email only! 8 hours later they emailed me back and would not help me to change dates, only option was to cancel and pay the full 3days! Bad customer service! No one available to help with reservations. Very inconsiderate! An awful and costly experience!

2 star worthy only because of location. 2 blocks from beach. Rooms are VERY BASIC! Mini fridge was on the floor in the corner. The room smells like mildew. The beds were comfy. Don't overpay for this property. $80 a night is TOOOOO much!

We booked two four-room rooms until check in told us: Book us to another hotel in Florida! Didn't receive the notice to change?
There's no hot water in the room again! We 8 people take turns taking a cold bath, can only then the hall to organize luggage, do not give more towels to clean up also said with our hall luggage is very good?! I don't know if there's a conscience in this room?!
Very recommended, do not order to avoid falling like us to use the hall toilet, pack luggage, take a cold bath Very, very, very bad!

We booking 2 rooms for 8 people, when we check in : the one room in the Florida! We did not receive not notice. 1. There is no hot water in the room!
2. And we in the lobby finishing finishing luggage!
And not give more towe. Very not recommended! Don't booking the Hotel!

Nice place clean, quaint. If you're looking for a big hotel room with all of the bells and whistles this ain't it, but it is walking distance to Ocean Drive. Excellent staff, great place to leave your stuff and lay ya head.

The restaurant attached to this hotel is a joke. Took us 30 minutes to even get offered a drink order. It took another 20 minutes for the waiter who was the ONLY waiter to take our food order. He kept going inside so he was not available when we needed him. Terrible. The food was poor quality as well, served us a CAN of coke as a drink. Never going back.

This place was overall a bad experience. The front desk clerk was very rude and on his cell phone. When asked why we were being charged a 40 dollar resort fee when the hotel offered no amenities he said it was for 2 drink tickets at the bar which was closed for construction but charged us anyway. Our first room he put us up in on the first floor smelled of mold and mildew. Over all I would never stay here again and I am not that picky. Horrible experience. The location was good so that is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. The hotel clerk also insisted of 100 dollars cash to hold on to for damage deposit. I have never heard a hotel ask for cash. We did get it back in the morning but wondered how many people left without getting that cash back. Seems scandalous.

I didn't have an experience there as they moved us to some other sister property without informing us. Though we called them to inform them that we will be reaching at the property late night, they never mentioned that we are being moved. If they had it would have saved a lot of energy and money. Not just that they moved us to a location far away from where we wanted to be but also they didn't have the decency to give us transport. Already tired of travelling, we have to now find our own transport and cost. Their reason was overbooking which was surprising to me as I had booked 2 weeks ago. So it was the third party online booking sites fault, as they didn't pay some amount to them. If Chelsea or south group is unable to coordinate the bookings with these third party sites why put them there in the first place. Only reason why I put an extra star is because where they moved us was an upgrade in terms of the room. But it was not what we wanted. Had they been a little more professional; just a mail or call informing us before hand; had good service; would have given maybe 4 stars or even 5.

An excellent place and has a bar-restaurant that is named the Pescaito that has a team that is always attentive, which makes special its disfrte.

Location earned this hotel a 3rd star due to it being 2 streets from the beach. Otherwise it is a sleepy hotel, Basic rooms that get the job done. They are small and the lighting is horrendous. The Air conditioner is weird. Room is either feezing or burning up. They advertise happy hour on their website which is great. However they dont tell u til you're here that its at their sister property a block over… Which is odd because there's a bar located in the lobby of Hotel Chelsea. O_o… On the plus size the staff is friendly. Don't pay more than necessary to stay here.

After booking and paying in full the hotel discovered that they don’t have any rooms available. The biggest issue is that they did not bother to tell me that they don’t have rooms until I showed up with all my bags at their check in counter with a confirmed booking. This is absolutely the worst thing that any hotel can do. Just picture yourself standing in the middle of the street with all our bags trying to find another hotel to book. This hotel needs new management and new system to fix all the messed up stuff that’s going on. Oh and don’t forget you have a charge on your credit card that needs 5 days to clear!.

The hostel is OK for a few days in town. It’s well located next to a nice beach, a 7 eleven, a Bank of America… and a block away from Twist, a LTBQ bar very popular. The staff wasn’t great and one night there was odor to marijuana all over the hallway. The average price is correct.

The best attention, of all your staff I congratulate you.

Service could be a lot better. If you're not there for a quick stay where you're barely in your room. Look elsewhere. But the room was decent for one night.

The PESCAITO will soon be in this place.

Stayed here for a few days. For the money it is a very nice place. We had no issues at all. It was safe and quiet. Happy hour was great! You can't beat free drinks! Would stay here again or would try another one in The South Beach Group. Also they have free airport shuttles which is also very convenient.

Great staff. Chris was the man. Free happy hour and for what you pay/the area it’s definitely worth a stay.

Chef Yuri and the bartender (forgot his name but he has cute dimples) saved the day! The food was DELICIOUS! Happy hour is from 7-8 free drinks friendly bartender… I'm a sucker for good service and these two guys are awesome! Hotel is close to the beach, walking distance & you can have home made gourmet food while on vacation! Rooms are awewardly designed and small (maybe because we have a corner room) but overall cool spot for a quick getaway!

It is my first trip to Miami and the hotel is just perfect. Nice rooms, renovated, awesome bathroom, huge bed, nice decoration. The staff is really awesome as well, and free drinks everyday 7 to 8 pm! The vybe is awesome! 10/10!

Stayed there with a friend for 6 nights, amazing hotel, very clean and the staff were really nice (especially Christian at the counter! ). Plus, only two streets from Miami beach! Totally would recommend! :)

Great location. It's just a block away from the beach. Rooms are compact but good. Also don't miss out on the free happy hour from 7 to 8. Would definitely recommend!

The only positive thing I can comment was on the happy hour. Bartender was friendly and accommodating. For the rest of my stay, that would be another story. Check in unprofessional. We were checking into our room and another guest walked up to ask a question and the agent began to assist them when he was only processed half my check in. We had to wait until he was finished with the other guest. We were placed on the third floor and were immediately hit with a very strong odor of marajuana. Told the front desk agent and he said he would take care of it. Hours later you could still smell it and it started to seep in the room. The room was adequate for the price point. There was no coffee in room. Called the front desk and asked if there possibly coffee in the lobby. Desk agent told me that there wasn't. He did not offer any suggestion where I could obtain said coffee. As I headed out to seek out my first cup where I was greeted by a condom wrapper, Trojan Magnum, on the floor of the elevator, I passed the desk and the agent was drinking, what I assume, to be his first cup of coffee. The first rule of hospitality is to be hospitable and to make an effort. Regardless of where your hotel is or what it looks like, you have very little without strong competent customer service. This is an element of your business that could stand to be evaluated.

The pictures online are not accurate. They make it look like the rooms are big but there not it's small as well as the bathrooms just dressed up to look expensive but it's not. No microwaves or even a small fridge, housekeeping is very difficult you have to go through so much to get towels and cleaning of the room is terrible just a wipe down no cleaning supplies used! Customer service not cu service friendly its more like it is what it is and your here so deal with it attitude! I was very disappointed for the amount for the stay and the hotel wasn't worth that!

It seemed the only staff member who had a clue, was the bartender, Jess! I asked for directions to popular places and was looked at by a kids "saying, I don't know" … when I first got here check in was painfully slow. Three staff members walking around, but only one that was checking in guests. Food was ordinary. Rooms are ordinary and have no safety locks. And you cannot turn the air conditioning below 70, as it will freeze up the unit.

Staff is very friendly and location is great! Jess the bartender was the highlight of the trip. Great advice on where to visit and eat for us travelers. Would highly recommend!

Really great stay all around. There were 4 of us, 2 couples and we stayed one night only because of a great rate we found on a room. The room was a decent size but most importantly clean, comfortable, modern and new. The hotel is in a fantastic location, close to beach and Ocean Drive, bars and restaurants around South Beach, however we arrived to the hotel, checked-in and actually never left! We had such a great time at the hotel lobby bar! We ate there, we drank there and we made friends with the most delightful bartender, Jessica! She was awesome! Provided us with great food recommendations and the food was fantastic too — — we ate right at the bar where Jessica made some outstanding cocktails! We stayed and closed the bar and the next morning we woke and returned to bar for breakfast and Bloody Marys! Jessica was there again with a great recommendation for the eggs benedict and veggie eggs benedict which were to die for. We met Joshua that next morning too and he was equally as delightful. The front desk folks were great too, like Anthony who checked us in, Luis late night and Gilma who checked us out. I met Karla the housekeeper and she was so super sweet too. This was a short but outstanding stay and I would highly recommend this place. If not, just go stop at the bar for a drink and some awesome food!

This is a great hotel with excellent service. The receptionist, bartenders (Niki, Joshua and Jessica) and room service are top notch. It was a fun stay. Save your money on the hotel and spend it at the clubs.

I requested double beds about a month before. I called at least twice on the day of checkin to guarantee the double beds. Well. "sorry sir we are out of double beds". Then the NEXT day, the front desk called and told us, "hey, if you want double beds, then you have to pay for the upgrade". The next day is a little too late for that upgrade information, and why would I pay extra if I already had it reserved.

BED BUGS! DO NOT STAY HERE! This was literally the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I stayed here for one night for my best friend's bachelorette party. I am COVERED in bed bug bites. They were in both of the beds. Because we didn't get in from the night out until about 3 am, we didn't think to check the sheets. In the morning when we woke up, we realized that there was a massive lipstick stain on the sheets in addition to the bugs. It wasn't from us because none of us were wearing lipstick. I don't think they've ever changed the sheets. I was the maid of honor and now in all the wedding pictures I will have welts as a lovely reminder of my stay at the Chelsea. No exaggeration, I have bites all over my body. As if the bed bugs wouldn't be enough to make you run away from this place, the service is HORRIBLE. It took about 30 minutes to check in because the staff took forever. In the morning we asked to speak with the manager about the bugs but she wasn't in at 11 am on a Saturday. We spoke to her on the phone and she said she would call us back and never did. To top it off, the valet took 45 minutes to bring my car back in the morning (I paid $32 for this). We asked the woman at the reception desk what was taking so long and she said they "lost the car. " Not once did a single staff member apologize for any of the disasters we experienced there. I am calling the Health Department tomorrow morning to get this place reported for bed bugs. Run away from here.

I Stayed here from June 25th 2014 to June 28th 2014. I was entering the Hotel after a 36 hour Journey from India and my room booking was confirmed by Pilvi Williams. On Arrival I was Told that I will have to Pay $100 by my credit card or else I Cant stay! I did not have enough credit on my card and the hotel staff at the desk was not ready to accept cash. Situation looked really bad as it was my first overseas trip and I had no idea where to go. Finally after me requesting a lot they agreed to take $200 Deposit from me in Cash and said that there is no guarantee of me getting the money back on my check out as sometimes they don't have cash! If that be the case they said they would send me a Cheque of $ 200 to India! They don't provide basic amenities like drinking water or coffee maker in room. There are better hotels in Miami for the same cost which also give a complimentary breakfast. This hotel is only for the party crowd. Beds are nice but I will never again visit here.

Watching. Ruined my honeymoon and they don't even care this hotel! If something goes wrong after she paid you, you expect any customer service. The driver of my Airport Shuttle close not door of the fuselage correctly so that my suitcase fall out unnoticed and was never found. I lost not only my wedding dress and jewelry, but also the medal in my first marathon (NYC) and many other things of emotional and financial value. At the beginning I have emails like "we are committed, you compensate for the lost items", but now hear I of them no longer and after 3 months nothing happened and I've seen a penny. This group is the worst. I strongly advise you to choose another hotel. There are many others. Maybe nothing not there be wrong with their stay, but when something does. Do not expect that any help, responsiveness, and in particular no compensation. You worry not only about you.

Honestly, I would stay in any other property other than Hotel Chelsea. Any other property. Terrible customer service.

Noisy all night party pad. If that's your thing then I suppose this place is ok. Beds are rock hard and the AC sounds like an old diesel engine. Oh and there is no place to park. Had to go to a $20 a night garage three blocks away.

A friend and I stayed for one night in 2010 so we could rest up before our cruise the next morning. The hotel looked very small from the lobby and the hallways. However, the bedroom decor was amazing and was a good size for a 2 bed bedroom. The music was loud at night but didnt really bother me since I need some sort of noise to sleep (as well as my friend). We both thought the beds were VERY comfortable. We both wanted to carry them out with us when we left! I would stay here again for sure, just for the decor and the beds =).

Staying at the hotel was great! Staff is friendly bar was good. BUT it has been a month since I've stayed there and I still haven't recieved my $100 hold and I've had to hunt it down call and don't get calls back. I will never stay here again because of how rediculous this after math has been.

The Hotelzmmer corresponds to the price. Clean, well furnished but rel. Small shower that flooded bathroom, because the glass looks vir which shower just fine but brings nothing.
Not top, but not bad either.
