So gross. We walked in the room and 60 SECONDS later we walked right out. We went to the office and requested a full refund. The manager and the woman who assisted us were extremely kind. They gave us a full refund and sent us across the street to their partners, Super 8. Thankfully Super 8 was recently renovated, new, and clean. The room we got smelled so incredibly bad. I travel a lot and I usually stay in budget hotels, such as Motel 6 and Super 8. Most of them are remodeled with new a new paint job, new beds, and really updated rooms. But this Travelodge was just… out of this world. I know that if we slept there that night my clothes would've smelled like dirty laundry all week. They have carpets in the rooms, the beds are old, everything inside that room was old and falling apart. Seriously so gross. They need to remodel ASAP!

Located near Mesa Verde national park, which is what we were in the area to visit. It's also near several restaurants. Room was clean, included a fridge and microwave. Front desk attendants were pleasant. Wifi was a bit spotty, but worked ok. Breakfast included cereal choices, muffins, toast, coffee juice & waffles. I would stay here again.

Horrible. Phone pole knocked out so no one answered. Breakfast dismal. Room, outdated. Door stuck, bathroom window lock was a screw. Only bright star was the guy working the front desk… Nice guy.

Room 118 is huge. It has two queen sized beds, a sofa bed, and a walk-in closet/sitting area that can easily fit another bed. I was worried by the low price, but willing to risk it for the one night we were in town and this room was fine. Yes, this is a budget hotel, but it was a squeaky clean room, decent breakfast, and convenient location.

Cheap motel in Cortez, quiet at night. Good given the low price. The bed was clean. The shower was clean-ish. A very basic breakfast was included. Parking was easy.

I stayed from Sun 5/20 — Thursday 5/24 morning. When we first checked in Sunday evening 5/24, we got an upstairs I room when I'd requested a ground floor room initially since I have arthritis. The stairway was dirty with tree debri all over the carpet. The stairway railing was extremely loose at the bottom coming apart from the wall. In room 254 there was cigarette burn holes in bedspread which also looked extremely worn/old. The carpet next to the bathroom was coming loose, could be a tripping hazard. There was food left in the mini fridge too. We called front desk Sunday evening & asked for a discount or something & let them know about railing was loose & unsafe. They gave us another room with free upgrade to king bed. That room was better but still upstairs & the blanket on that bed also had cigarette burn holes too. Also Wednesday 5/23 the cleaning crew didn't come to clean while we were out although we left the door hanger up saying we were out so they'd come. By Thursday 5/24 I asked for a ground floor room but they only had one but the door jam of the room was so damaged it wouldn't lock or close completely & the stairway railing was still not repaired and carpet on stairs was still dirty & hadn't been vacuumed. Overall I found it really disappointing & wouldn't recommend it.

Very nice hotel! Friendly staff and clean rooms. Updated rooms. Wifi works fast and great. Tv channel is awesome. Bathroom is clean and spacious with granite. Very very nice hotel.

This place deserves less than one star! They claim to have Wi-Fi but my colleagues and other customers including myself were constantly battling the management for access. They do not properly clean the rooms that are in need of critical repair. Do not stay at travelodge cortez!

Came in after driving and was absolutely exhausted. Front desk was very accommodating and polite. Rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and would reccomend it to anyone passing through.

It was a good stay, the only downfall was that the beds were hard and the ice machine closest to us was broken but other than that they had a quaint breakfast and good service.

Room was very dated and the air-con was useless. The door into the building looked like someone had hit a few times with hammer and generally looking very VERY dated. Needs a lot of work but have to say that the staff there were friendly and very helpful.

Everything was so outdated. The bed sheets had several long hairs and a few stains, the ice machines were out of order. But at least the toilet worked and there was free breakfast and Wi-Fi, and I saw a cute cat through the window.

The pluses: cheap.
Small full and all-you-can (possibility to make your own waffles for example).
Free and well sized parking.
For the quiet, choose the 2nd building away from the road and prefer the rooms to the floor. In the rdc, the windows are at the ground level of the car park…
The — cleanliness really borderline the 2nd building in the common areas.
American-style room unsurprisingly.

I Would not recommend travel lodge disgusting place to stay mold everywhere! Shower tub was not clean, rooms smelt, bugs no outside lights don't let the website pictures fool you they are not clean rooms! Will never stay again!

Very clean and workers are very friendly, especially the front desk clerk. The guy is very sweet.

Door card did not work, battery was dead so had to be let in by key. Room itself wasn’t terrible, very old kind of stuff though including tube tv. $60 for two beds for a night.

Place is great! We were traveling through on our trip and decided to stay. Everything is low key, there's free breakfast. The people at the front desk are really helpful too!

Hate to write a bad review, but my arms were covered with bed buck bites when I woke up in the morning. Already had a bad feel about the room before.

Continental breakfast is great. Front desk clerk very helpful. Room was decent. Had all needed supplies. Would be better with smoking rooms.

The room was … not nice. Walking in, I was overwhelmed with the smell of disinfectant, presumably because there was another smell being covered up. There door jams were all warped, which meant the doors would just barely hold closed. There was so much play in the bathroom door, I probably could have jimmied it open without turning the door knob. The shower head was so loose it was shooting water against the wall behind the fixture. (I was able to fix that, but still …) The TV was trash. It was at least 25+ years old, and there was snow artifacts on every channel. And then there was the beds. The beds were surgery inducing. They were rock hard, and lumpy, and they sloped down towards the headboard. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a box spring instead of a mattress. I woke up with knots all over my back, and I'm lucky it wasn't worse than that.

Decent economy accommodation, nothing really of note that makes this place stand out. If you need a place to stay for a night and don't feel like doing it outside, this is a good spot to stop. The remark of some homeless Navajo that wanders the grounds, and isn't suppose to be there, worries me mostly because I have stuff in the bed of my truck that I can't bring into the hotel room. Also he apparently likes the stare at the cute girl who works the front counter. I probably wouldn't stop here again unless I had a reason or had no other options. I was going to camp at the Mesa Verde camp grounds but the rain decided that was not happening.

First time staying at a Travelodge. I had higher expectations. Nice staff at our 10pm check in. Our room was dated and the carpets had that grungy feel that made us want to keep our shoes on. The first thing I noticed when walking in the room was a massive moth on our wall. It was gross (pictured). That gave me the impression that the room hadn't been cleaned. The bathroom was clean yet the shower pressure was weak. We paid $87. Not sure it's worth that, yet it's the cheapest hotel in town beside the Super 8.

Not the cleanest! Staff are quite nice, but the room needs some work and major cleaning. I'm not sure its worth over 70 dollars, I expected a little better. Travelodge used to have a decent name. Live and learn.

Yes, this is a 2 star hotel for sure. The property is very old. Rooms were clean. Exterior property was okay clean. I admit — almost left 10 minutes after checking in but decided to take a chance. Glad I did. The staff was professional and courteous. Fellow travelers we're also very nice — no sketchy people. No ramped illegal activity that I could tell. Just folks traveling and looking for a cheap, no frills night sleep. Breakfast was also no frills — all carbs, but good enough.

Clean room! Microwave and refrigerator. Friendly staff! You cannot beat these prices. We stayed 2 nights and when we are through this area again we will stay again.

So not the best experience, although the people at the front desk were accommodating, the Wi-Fi didn't work that well and a sun spider also know as a wind scorpion (solifugae) decided to come in and try to tuck me in for the night, now I usually don't have a issue with bugs but this was it for me, and so I asked to be put in another room, which they so kindly did, the bed was just awful (hard as a rock) woke up with all kinds of back pain, so to say the least I won't be staying here ever again. So if you like crawly things and slab of sand stone for a bed then this is your place.

The room was good and it was well equipped. The only problem was with the internet that didn't work well.

Alright for the night. It's a place to sleep without breaking the penny jar! Don't expect it to be super clean. I left my socks on because you could tell that the carpets aren't kept very clean. Garbage under the beds and dust on top of the armoire. Good for a nights sleep and then get out of town kind of place.

The sheets and bathroom were clean. Those are always the first things I check! The floors were sort of clean. They looked like it was a super quick vacuum job, only hitting the main areas. Small spaces and under the beds were not clean… Lots of dust and crumbs. There was also paper garbage under one of the beds. Everything was super dusty as well. The TV had cable, but the TV is an old tube TV so not great picture or sound. The AC worked great but it was super noisy… although that helped drown out the sound of the neighbors TV and laughter. The room came with a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Free Wi-Fi with decent speeds. Free breakfast… cereal, bread, fruit, jelly, etc. I wouldn't recommend it for an extended stay but worked fine for a quick overnight stay. Easy location 9k to find and near food.

Room 121. Completely infested with insects. Killed a bunch of spiders and flies. Coffee pot had old coffee with fungus in it. Bathroom window was broken and had to be forced shut as it wouldn't close. Stained towels. Internet password given did not work on any of the offered networks. The office was closed for the entire night hence had no one to reach out to after seeing the condition of the room. They had left the keys to the room for us in an envelope taped to a window outside the office as we checked in at 9:30 pm. Everything was horrible except for the bed.

TV old. Didn't have good reception. Everything else was good or better.

Stayed here 2 nights while exploring mesa verde and some of the other ruins. The hotel is great for the money! Except for the Wi-Fi I would swear I stepped back in time to the 80's! But it's clean and cheap! The location is nice too!

This is a very nice hotel at a very fair price! If you have any type of problem they will do their best to solve it. We needed a place closer to our door, and they immediately changed us to a room that we could back up to2 unload.

Meh. Kind of sketchy, but an acceptable amount of sketch for the price. Kind of dirty, but an acceptable amount of dirt for the price. Air conditioner was loud but effective (COOOOLD).

The lobby closes at 9pm. We got there at 9:15pm. Yet the lobby was still open. I entered, exhausted, and the lady at the desk was all friendliness. "Are you my reservation? " yes. "Are you so-and-so? " yes. "Here's your key, all the papers you need, just sign here, breakfast is from 6:30-9:30, we found you that roll-away bed you requested, and please let me know if you need anything. " I wanted to throw my arms around her. She was so friendly! I have stayed at hotels in D. C. St. Augustine, San Francisco, etc. And never have had such great customer service. Yes the TV was old and the resolution not great. The bathroom was a bit small, and the only sink was in the bathroom. But there was a mini-fridge. The AC was awesome. The beds were rather nice. The breakfast was decent (my picky-eater brothers were quite content). This hotel was close to Wal-Mart, other eateries, and Mesa Verde. It was quiet. And inexpensive!
