A huge thank you to Monika and Ralph! They always get us in quickly, have clean and comfortable rooms at a great price. The atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming. The only place we stay in Canon City, and consider it our home away from home! Highly recommended for everyone!

Wonderful place to stay. Family owned. Travelled from IL across the western states and always stayed in family owned motels. Never disappointed. This hotel is low keyed everything you need. Owner is v ery friendly and makes you feel at home. Room has a personal touch such as glasses and coffee mugs. You won't be disappointed. Price is reasonable.

We absolutely loved this place. The owners were very hospitable and polite with no questions about our two dogs. It was extremely comfortable and peaceful. We will definitely recommend this but just remember treat the owners and staff with respect and they'll treat you with respect.

Great rates super friendly staff and the rooms are clean and quite will stay again.

The Safari room was worth every penny!

When my family and I were relocating to the area, we were lucky enough to stay at the Holiday. We stayed in her adorable, retro kitchenette. Although the building is surrounded by the growing city, it really is a jewel. The owner Monica has a clean, remodeled room for any occasion or budget. She is straight forward, honest, and one tuff cookie. Do not let her boysterous polish accent fool you, she is a wonderful host and we now consider her a friend. Thanks again.

Not new, nice clean and nice mgmt.

First impressions were not great. Not very professionally run. There was no record or documentation of our reservations which were for a week. Thankfully there was a room open. The rooms themselves were decent, clean and comfortable.

This is my second time to stay in this motel. The first time I stayed I didn't take the time to write a review. I regret that because it is really a great place to stay. Prices are great and the service is excellent. It is an older hotel but that gives it to class. The beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept in and we travel a lot. There is no fancy amenities but we love our stay at this motel.

The rooms get pretty toasty during the summer and all of the electrical plugs are two prong. The third prong has been removed from all of the appliances.

Good price. Only place I found to take pets. Older hotel with some updates. Old parking lot… owner upset because my vehicle left oil stains in lot. Lot aready had stains in very spot didn't see what all her fuss was about. No need to be so angry and cold.

I bought materials for repairs on this property like the owner Monica asked me to. I came to finish the job my ladder was missing. I asked for my ladder and material money as well as my labor pay. The owner stiffed me. The son is a great guy but the owner when I asked around town has stiffed a few contractors as well as yelled and ran off most every guest I've talked to. Not professional or a relaxing environment. I'm checking on pressing charges with the city on the owner. Try another hotel plenty in town with great and friendly environments.

AC doesn't work Obviously no heat for winter based on the portable heater disguised as a fake fireplace Broken ice machine Mattress from 1950 No ADA ROOMS no pool spa or running water outside The stairs are a death trap Advertisement for log furniture was not really true the furniture is pressed wood No phone to call the office… Ewww! The non smoking room smells like a pack of burning camel cigarettes They do allow pets… Don't stay here.

Considering that this place was cheaper than the other motels in the city, I had prepared for the worst. It was not the worst. In fact, It was one of the nicer motels I have been to.

Horrible. No respect everybody is living there. All nasty not taken care of. Mattresses are probably 20 years old.

The motel is trashy and gross. Stinks like crap and the owners cheap and very rude. Bugs in rooms dirty sheets. Just very gross. Its not worth the high price for such a disgusting run down motel.

Very clean, beautiful place with exotic rooms. I'v seen only three so far — "Safari", " Fort" and "Kachina room" — Absolutely Amazing.

We had reserved 2 rooms in advance and when we got there at supper time one of the rooms was not even ready yet. One of the rooms we ended up with the ceiling fan did not work and she knew about it in advance and was not fixed. There were only 2 of 3 light bulbs in the ceiling fan. The bedding was old. The air conditioning was poor and when we went out for the day they shut the AC off for the day. We made coffee on the first morning and they did not remove the grounds and leave a fresh pack of coffee. The outlets are poor. We had to unplug the AC to plug in the hair blower. Also there was no hot water for the shower until we said something the next day. We would not recommend this to anyone. It was very disappointing. We do not know how they got the rating of 4 or 5 stars. This does not compare to an average motel!

Nice little motel. Pet friendly. Quirky and different.

One review in the last 11 months and now I see why. My parents in their mid 80's called to see about a room. No Handicap available so Mom was asking about the steps be cause both use canes/walkers. She was told had one step NOT there's two. Trying to get the AC to work had to call someone, they had it unplugged. Coffee? wow coffee grounds left from before and no packs of new coffee. Oh that can't be I check all the rooms after they are cleaned. Throw rugs seriously 1 in front of the toilet (be very careful) no hand rails but was suppose to be. Then to top it off the gal told them to leave because they complained. Seriously it's in the 80's! Coffee in the morning that would be gross. How rude you were just because they wanted AC and a clean coffee pot. I would SERIOUSLY check out the room before you pay. Better yet go stay at the Budget Host-Royal Gorge Inn — My parents never even told them about their experience the had and they showed them the room first, helped with their luggage, gave them 2 bottles of water and was very very nice. How cruel people are. So sad.

I had a wonderful experience here. The themed rooms were really unique. You could tell that the owner really cared about her guests and about her motel. I will definitely be going back.

Despite the exteriors antiquated appearance the rooms are sizeable, charming and clean. The owner was very friendly and only charged $5 for our pet. The neighboring guests were mutually pleased with their experience. I would recommend staying here and will certainly come back should I need a spot to crash on my travels.

After being rained out of our campsite in nearby Cotopaxi, we were scrambling for a hotel room on Memorial Day weekend. We first went to the Hampton Inn, which was sold out. Their front desk gal was great and called 6 different hotels for us trying to find a room. I asked her to try the Holiday Motel as I had noticed on my drive, that their sign said "remodeled rooms, flat screen TV and log furnishings". She called and they had just one room left! The suite. Even though the town of Canon City was sold-out, there was no price gouging at the Holiday Motel. She gave me a great rate and excellent service. The Holiday Motel is a charming vintage hotel built in 1957 and I LOVED it! This very affordable motel offers hand-selected decor that makes you feel right at home as soon as you enter your room. A playground for the kiddos, beautiful small pond surrounded by trees for a calm sitting area and management that makes you feel like family. Very clean, exceptionally comfortable beds, and even a nice (safe) electric fireplace in the suite. The suite offers 2 bedrooms, studio style living room, and a kitchenette created by a dorm fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Staying at the Holiday Motel feels like a B&B with their complimentary continental help-yourself breakfast in the office. Each room at the Holiday Motel is individually decorated and unique. Definitely not your standard chain hotel experience. Much better.

This is an awesome place to stay. We had 18 yr twins in a suite and my husband and I stayed in a King room with our 4 yr old. Booking. Com failed to notify them that we had made reservations. They still had vacancies and were very gracious and helpful. The rooms are some of the cleanest rooms we've ever stayed in and the beds were very comfortable. We will book here again next time we come through Canon City.

Great place to stay, nice people! We wouldn't have traded it in for a Holiday Inn! They catered to everything we needed and were helpful beyond words. The rooms were excellent. Very clean and very kid friendly! The room was everything we could have asked for and more. Best stay in a hotel or motel EVER! They really care about their guests and the motel! We stayed a week and loved it! Monica and her partner Sam and his wife Rebecca are the best people around! Definitely if you come to Canon City, CO, come stay at the Holiday Motel! I wouldn't recommend anything else.

We have stayed at the Holiday Motel twice in the past month. We came across it by accident because a chain motel had made a mistake in our reservations and we needed a place to stay for the night. Sam was friendly, outgoing and made us feel very welcome. The room was very clean and made you feel very relaxed just being there. The quaint eating area outside next to the small fountain has benches, chairs and plenty of shade and plants to enjoy an afternoon and evening meal. If you are ever in the area I would highly recommend The Holiday Motel. And please say Hi to Sam for us.
