Beautiful accommodations, friendly helpful staff. Even tons of friendly guests, outdoor firepits to gather around without our masks to breathe in the clean, crisp fall air. I used to live in Tahoe, Thanks to my stay here I'm still as in love with it as I was 20 years ago!

I will surely come back. Location is very accessible to everything.

—————————————- Original post: Rude Awakening Nice rooms, great location, and friendly staff, and the negative recommendation is only to make a point. On one of the few mornings we stayed here, which happened to coincide with our desire to sleep in after a 6-hour hike the day before, we were jarred awake by what sounded like a dentist drill from hell on steroids attached to a loudspeaker. The sound reverberated through the walls and ceiling and was 10 times worse than one of those screaming home fire alarms whose battery is near death. You get the picture. I called the front desk and they said they’d send someone from engineering to see what’s going on.
— Problem #1: They weren’t even aware that something is causing a monumental disturbance in the vacation force! A kind-looking janitor came to investigate and stood by the room where the offensive noise originated. He seemed empathetic to my questions about the noise but only stood there sort of shrugging his shoulders. I called the front desk again and complained… they again said they’d send someone. I wasn’t convinced so I took matters into my own hands.

Nothing beats a full apartment accommodation on vacation. Right on the lake and close to great restaurants and amazing hiking trails.

Had wonderful activities in the hotel for kids and adults! Pool was lovely and the hot tub was relaxing! Beds were comfy and room s included a small kitchen and a decent size bath room! Parking is not great. Be prepared to tip if you valet. We have a wonderful time! Remember check out is at ten.

Definitely prefer staying here rather than the casino atmosphere. Enjoyed happy hour drinks and snacks. We splurged on a balcony suite and love it. My only complaint is that they dont answer phones. I've called for 2 separate things and mailbox was full and no one answers.

Lovely hotel with great amenities. Kitchenettes in the room and bbqs on the property are a bonus! however, the parking is limited and the check out time is early.

The service was friendly and they have a lot of amenities. Location is ideal and close to downtown. However, their parking lot is small and if it gets full you will need to park across the street in a parking garage. Another negative is their internet is very slow.

It was as if our room wasnt wuite ready to receive guests. The first morning, the coffee maker was clogged up and overflowed all over the counter. I had to get dressed to go downstairs to get my coffee. Thankfully, our wonderful housekeeper got us a new one. The batteries in the TV remote were dead, the microwave stopped working properly on day 3, will only work if you do 30 seconds at a time. The shower nozzle is so wide, it doesnt really hit your body, but hits AROUND your body, and the tub stopper wont stay open to drain after a bath. The walls are thin and you can hear people all night while you're trying to sleep. Parking is limited. On a positive note, the staff has been very nice! but overall, out of 5 stars, I'd give a 2.5

Excellent place to stay, but the parking is horrible! We stayed in the two bedroom unit which has one room with a queen bed, full bath, full kitchen and living room… plus a second almost separate unit with two queens, bathroom and small kitchenette. You can even close the second room off if you want a lot of privacy. We had two families with 8 people, and this setup worked great. I especially appreciated how clean and new the units were. We were able to cook several meals in the unit, which really made this enjoyable. The rooms were very nice! But be warned, parking is extremely limited! If you don't arrive early, you'll need to hike a few blocks to park your car in the off site garage. Yes there is free "valet" parking, sometimes, but valet parking was not available for most of our stay. The first night arriving at 9pm, I was a little distraught there was no place to park, and no valet available… but the conseirere was so helpful (not) in telling me how nice the night was for a hike, referring to my hike back from the off site garage. Special! Anyway, besides the parking, the place is a wonderful place to stay.

This is a nice place with big spacious rooms. We got the suite with 1 bedroom and living room and plus another area with 2 beds and our own bathroom and small kitchenette. The outside look so unique like a ginormous cabin. There are so many stores and restaurants around the area. Overall, we had a nice time here.

Very clean in the main area. Maid service was mediocre. Had to take out the garbage and call for clean towels. The food was delicious and the late night menu at the bar was fabulous. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall it was a great place.

This place has so much stuff to do. The rooms are very clean and nice. The staff is super duper helpful and ready and Happy to answer all your questions. There are lots of activities for children and is walking distance to the lake. You can even see the lake from the patio of their restaurant.

This place is awesome! The rooms have descent sized kitchenettes that were more than accommodating for 4 adults and 2 small children. They have fire pits to enjoy at night, 24 hour gym, propane grills and some free activities for kids! I now have a new favorite place to stay while in Tahoe. I highly recommend staying here if you never have and truly want to experience premium accommodations.

This place was fabulous. We got into the newly remodeled side of the hotel so we had a huge bathroom with a walk-in shower. The kitchen is great for making dinner and staying in a few nights. They have a set of pans and dishware so you can eat in with a bunch of people. The Wi-Fi is great in the resort. Cell service in the area is terrible. (Verizon and T-Mobile), so it was nice to have that. The restaurant on the first floor was great as well. The staff also seemed trained to say hello and be pretty friendly when they saw people in the halls. Definitely would go back again.

In the business in Vegas, so I might be a little critical. Complimentary breakfast: Employees need to learn to keep food hot! Scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, even the oatmeal! If you’re going to offer an omelette for an additional five dollars, should offer a variety, not just plain! Everyone was pleasant, except a Guest Service Manager, attempting to run the mandatory valet parking! You people should consider bringing someone from Vegas to straighten out this, your biggest problem! Oh, you might want to tell room reservations to stop telling customers “we’re not on the lake, but right across the street”. Four blocks is not “right across the street”! In stead, tell them about your affiliation with Round Hill Beach Club! Free daily passes, 2.7 miles away. Had a great time there!

We have been taking our four kids here for years every summer. It’s our favorite place to vacation. Comfortable with tons of things to do at the resort and within a short drive.

We came for a 3 days vacation and was really excited about indoor pool. But unfortunately they are doing maintenance and the pool will not be open for next couple of days. They still take $17 resort fee per person for resort amenities, even though we don't get to enjoy all. Also beware of marketing staff who is trying to sell time share deals. Once you say yes, and if you don't show up for the meeting, they will take $40 deposit from your credit card. Rooms are okay only but you need more than luck to find a room with lake view.

After check in we had do firmly reject any time shear pitches. After that everything was super! Our 1 bedroom unit was awesome, everything was like new, clean and tidy. Nice kitchen, very spacious bathroom with his and her sinks, and 2 doors (one from bedroom, one from the kitchen area). Pool was heated and we loved the indoor/ outdoor connection (half the pool is inside and half is outside) 2 hot tubs. We ate at the restaurant downstairs, it is pricey but food was really good. Nice views of the lake!

First thing first, this is a time share. If you're not interested in the time share, skip the "welcome gift" and any other "gifts" that require you to go to the concierge. That being said, this is a really nice place, quiet, really nice rooms and centrally located in South Lake. The one bedroom rooms are more like a 500sf apartment, fully furnished down to the silverware. It's definitely stay here again, avoiding the time share stuff.

The hotel is great itself, good bedding, friendly service and the room is nice. However, be warned this is also a time share… So they hound you, a ton about come watch or presentations and we'll give you discounts, etc. It's worse than a used car salesman. Also or first night we had water all over the floor we knew it was the fridge, called the front and they sent someone to really promptly. Problem was that person was totally incompetent stating the leak was coming from the third floor (we were on the first). So he left. While a little while later water all over or floor again. So we pull the fridge it again and look and it's 100% in your face obvious that the water supply line tube for the ice maker is broken off flapping around and that's where the water is coming from. We call down again and a new guy comes and fixes it ASAP.

Great place. Right next to Marina and beach Take Safari Rose linch cruise… Concierge Eric… wonderful. Daphne in VIP check in also amazing. They nothing are a wealth of knowledge. Resort clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant and bar downstairs yummy. Activity center has a good choice of things to do for all ages. In winter you are right by the ski run, thus address of this place is. "Ski Run"

Had a very off experience. Prior to having kids we had been here, so we knew the layout was kid friendly with good options for a kitchen and space to sprawl including a pack and play (which concierge got us after I forgot to pack ours). We park in the front valet spots next to someone else who turned at the light a cycle right before us at the valets direction. As we pull in the bell service comes over and unloads the car in front of us and goes. We stand around for 5 minutes holding kids before we head to the desk to get help. I get directed to check in. After that we get back to our car after asking for bell service at the valet… Eventually a rushed valet comes over with a rack and leaves us to our own devices at the car. Would have gladly paid for bell service… As a sign of things to come we call for various house keeping concerns six times over our stay to only get help once. We end up getting our own towels at the lobby with the help of concierge who figures out who I am after a long glance — "how many" they ask and tell me to ask for them by name for the rest of our stay if anything is needed (one of the better groups to work with, even if we can't get service in our room). At least the concierge knew all the good local spots for little ones to play in the snow! The morning of checkout, the lobby is deserted, no other guests — but alsono bell or valet to be found.

Always love to come back. Some of the best views from a resort and centrally located. The newer renovated rooms are really nice, comfortable and have a lot of amenities. There is a beach close by, unfortunately the local water sport business took it over eliminating its use for resort owners. Whether you are a time share owner or not the pressure to sell you is very high. For as much as this place cost, and as nice of an establishment as this is, some of the staff seem to lack professionalism.

We just arrived home from our vacation at Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort Diamond Property. Arrived March 23-26, I must say we had a wonderful time! Great location, the marina with restaurants and shops next door (the souvenir shop offers 10% to hotel guest and 20% discount if you spend $80.00 or more! ) Love that! Hot pools, great bar, 3 roaring fire bowls outside in the snow really helps when your a smoker and freezing outside, kept my fingers warm! I wish I found sooner! The beds and rooms are fantastic very comfortable, including kitchens, micro kitchens and dishwasher! Awesome! Great view from our room, close to the exit door and parking lot which was very convenient, and saved alot of time instead of going to the elevator. The property is wonderful and would highly recommend it to families or large group of people! Much more amenities for all. Service was great! The night front desk clerk even offered me a cup of coffee at 6 am and tips on the best place to buy "smokes" Dollies for 5 bucks, omg can't beat that! Left of Harrahs Casino.

We have stayed here for years and love the resort. It's clean and spacious The location is perfect. The staff is very attentive. Many activities at this resort for all the family to enjoy.

We stayed 3 nights at the resort and it was very well worth the money. Pricing was on-par, room was clean, staff were excellent — I’ll definitely be staying here again! Great view of the Heavenly gondola and the lake, couldn’t ask for much more.

This is a very comfortable lodging, with pools and hot tubs, gym, game room, restaurant and bar on site. Rooms are comfortable and have fireplaces and balconies. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Resort also is well located for shopping, ski slopes and nearby casinos.

Great place, views are incredible, excellent customer service, walking distance to the lake and shops. Great indoor / outside pool, rooms are top notch with appliances and mattresses! We are vey pleased and cannot wait to return. Very friendly staff and valet service all the time!

Wonderful accommodations. I particularly enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool and outdoor hot tub. The hotel bar has some decent fare (albeit limited beer selection). Our floor had a free laundromat (bring your own soap). Our room had a full kitchen: electric stove, oven, microwave, coffee pot, pots/pans, cutlery, dish sets for four, fridge and freezer, sink, dishwasher.

The rooms are great. The restaurant and bar are excellent. The service is horrible. They force you to use a valet for parking and unloading. That's fine, but they seem never to have sufficient valet staff on hand. The cars were so stacked up that it was impossible to pull into their driveway. After asking three different employees to get some help, no one ever came. Finally, I abandoned my car in the driveway, stole a luggage trolley and unloaded my car. Any time I tried to get the car out of the valet area, I would call the requisite ten minutes ahead and then wait in the lobby for 30 more minutes for someone to finally find my car. Too bad such a nice resort has such lousy desk service.

We ate at the Bear Moon restaurant within the hotel, and we're extraordinarily pleased with our experience. We made reservations over the phone, so when we arrived we were immediately seated, and right next to a window looking out on Lake Tahoe. Thanks to our seating, we viewed one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen while we waited to order. Our waitress, Shea, was amazingly sweet and helpful, and the food was delicious. I will definitely eat there again the next time I'm in South Lake Tahoe.

We were here in the winter.
The apartments in this building are nicely decorated and well-equipped.
The location is superb — right on the lake and a few minutes from Heavenly ski lifts.
On each floor there is an area with washing machines and dryers, which you do not have to pay for.
However, the resort calculates $20 per day for use of the car park and washing machines.

Came in for the tour, it's a very nice hotel/timeshare, a lot like the one I own. They just spent 34 mil in renovations and it's nice. Didn't sign up for the timeshare, but had fun on the tour. I also got discounted on my lift tickets and the cruise across the lake. Very nice anyways.

Resort in South Lake Tahoe located on the shore of the lake with good facilities in very quiet area, ideal to unwind from the hustle and bustle. Shop, spa, and concierge service. To the side is a small pier where the resort provides ferry service across the lake.

Enjoying ourselves at the Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort. Our studio unit is quite deluxe and well equipped with mini kitchen. Hot tub and sauna are very nice amenities. Valet guys do a great job getting your car when needed. Great skiing at Heavenly and Kirkwood. The magic show at the Loft theatre nearby highly recommended.

Diamond resorts my favor place at lake tahoe. Looking for snow and not encotre or in the fridge until today, began to fall something.

This place is awesome! Everything is very clean and nicely taken care of. The location is also very good because it's right next to a few different restraints, cafes, and stores that you can go with the family and enjoy some food.

We were aggressively approached by the security guy of the hotel who was asking us about our service dog. This was after we got a confirmation that we could bring a dog and after we already checked in. This rude security person told us can stay but the dog must leave immediately. The entire experience was emotionally stressful. We stayed because it was too late and I was after 3 hours of driving… but we left one day early. We informed the hotel manager. The rest of the staff were really nice and supportive. But it was that one guy who managed to ruin their reputation. Unfortunately for them and for us.

The resort is nice rooms are great one bedroom is much better than an embassy suite, Wi-Fi is find brought my fire stick and worked find rooms are very clean and modern. Location is A+ bring your own food and drink. Parking is tight on the weekends. Rooms are really quite can't hear a sound. Staff is OK kinda typical Tahoe snowboarder.

Our room was great with a beautiful view of the lake! Clean rooms, comfortable beds. However, Security needs better communication, they were in our room, while we were out to dinner to check a report of gas smell that ended up being next door. Everything was fine but there was no call or note that explained why someone had entered the room. Our door had been propped open and I called the front desk and then security to get an explanation.

Well appointed rooms. Smooth check in and very accommodating. Just be aware they will probably try to sell your on becoming a member. Sales pitch aside I would come back again.

We booked early and for the price, got an amazing deal on a 2 bedroom deluxe unit. Parking is a mess and the lot is usually full. Valet is complimentary, but with 3 kids, it's also a pain in the butt. You can't choose whether or not you get a lake view, either. However, customer service is great. They were able to get our room ready an hour early for check-in and when we had an issue with the heater, an engineer was sent out immediately to fix it. Locations is also great!

Hotel is beautiful, no complaints whatsoever about the room or hotel itself. Check in was quick and easy… but we went to the concierge desk to see what discounts came with our stay, and they tried to sell us a membership upgrade. I said no thank you in four different ways, but they persisted anyway and it turned into almost an argument. I was very uncomfortable. I eventually interrupted and told them I was going to my room and walked away (respectfully). The parking is tight but they offer a free valet service with amazing customer service. The staff is very helpful and accommodating, just watch out for that concierge desk… They are like car salesmen! Just doing their job, but it made me uncomfortable and I will avoid it again in the future.

Close to the water front. Only a few rooms with lake view. Restaurant has a simple menu, but good food. Has a sports bar outside the restaurant doorway, which you can sit and eat at, in that area. Pool and two spas in the pool area. Landscaping is beautiful around the Resort, clean, friendly staff and helpful. Lots of shopping in walking distance.

Staff was very helpful, and explained all of the discounts for food and entertainment around the area. Remember: Discounts for activities do not apply on the weekends. The rooms were lush. For a decent price (noting that this is a resort in Tahoe), we had a two room suite: one room had two queen beds, and the other had a living room, kitchen, and king bed. Both rooms had master bathrooms, and included cookware if you didn't want to buy food around. We had a beautiful view over the lake, and the temperature for the vacation allowed us to sit in the balcony for as long as we desired. We stayed overnight, so we didn't experience much of the service. However, the staff were very helpful, and the valet service ran out to get our car in under ten minutes.

Check in was longer than needed. Room had excellent view, but missing requested facilities. Decided stay was short enough, and did without it. Pool was relaxing, short walk to beach area. Later enjoyed live music and appetizers at bar. Overall better than many other timeshares.

Clean and quaint but a little expensive for something that is offered by the large chains that also make up your room BEFORE you finish your stay. All I say is there is better value around. But it is clean and is safe.

We arrived on 04-17-2016 and left on the 19th. We had 3 days on a Groupon reservation and was so disappointed with the resort that we left early. The condo was small for the price and the best view we could get is that of a parking lot. After a full 360 walk around, we realized no condos overlook the lake. The king size bed was hard and indented from years of use. We wound up slipping on the couch pullout bed. The icing on the cake was the concierge lady badgered us for 20 minutes before we even checked into our room. She then caught us returning from dinner and continued to pursue us to "take a tour" and potentially buy a timeshare. She called our room twice in two days and another person called twice as well. She then made reservations for us without our knowing to take a tour. The food was ok, but overpriced. We will never stay at this resort or any other diamond resorts. A shame, cause it looked so nice online.

The Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort is a great place for a vacation or a weekend getaway. Located adjacent to beautiful Lake Tahoe, the resort offers fabulous views of the lake or snow-capped mountains. The spacious rooms include kitchens and fireplaces to enhance your stay. A swimming pool, spa, fitness center, restaurant, and shop are all on premises.

Great hotel, rooms were very nice, all commodities you could need in the room, restaurant and bar are good, happy hour discounts aren't great though. The surrounding restaurants are fantastic.

Just spent our first night and it has been a good experience so far. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, and good service. The staff are friendly too.

I loved how clean out room was. It looked new and it was spacious. The heated pool was my favorite part. It was very clean and spacious as well. The only think I didn't like was that check out was at 10 am.

The heater, what a stupidity. So there is a fireplace in the studio that is supposed to heat up in winter. The A/C does not have a heater, it only blows cold air when the temperature goes higher then the preset. Now check this out: the fireplace creates heat in the studio, but it does not heat the bed room. Now temperature goes high in the studio and A/C kicks in blowing cold air in to the studio and in to the bed room! Amazing, no matter what you are going to freeze in the bed room in winter in this hotel. So stupid…

There were lots of accommodations such as pool tables and maps to help us find places to go. The employees were quite helpful, but the person who tried to sell us a timeshare was drunk and unprofessional.

The staff are so helpful & friendly. They told us about free public sledding a short drive away where the 28 splits off of the 50. They also told us about sledding behind the resort for free & it was such more fun than the adventure park where we paid $30!

They have a hot tub and walking distance to Chevy's. What more do you need?

I'm. Reading all these bad reviews but I had an amazing stay. I had my 2 small children, my daughter is 3 my son is 2, the staff was amazing very helpful at every turn. My room was beautiful, fully stocked and newly remodeled. They had daily activities, and are located right on the lake. I was not charged any extra fees, vallet was free, parking was free, Wi-Fi was free. I had a amazing stay I will recommend this resort to anyone. They do the timeshare thing but just tell them you don't have a credit card and they leave you alone.

Not really a rating, but a warning: Once you give your credit card number, it is 100% un-refundable with this service. When I made the booking less than 24 hours before, the customer service representative didn't mention this. So be REALLY sure you want to stay here prior to giving your credit card information. I tried to cancel less than 24 hours after making the booking due to a family health issue that's come up. The booking was made with the resort's booking service VacayStay Connect, and they would not consider giving a refund — even though the booking was made 24 hours before. The woman I spoke with quickly went with her main defense that their policy is clear. But as we spoke, it became clear (which she apologized for) that they didn't make it clear to me. Number 1 — the number given on VRBO for the accommodation is just a phone number to do the booking — no mention of the refund policy or even a link this company's website; No. — the customer service rep that made the booking didn't tell inform me of the policy at the time of taking my credit card information. There was no disclosure at all of this strict, non-negotiable, no-refund policy. Given what I'm paying, their should be; and, No. — when I booked, they didn't send an email confirmation of the transaction which states this policy … but even if they had, this is telling the customer of the no-refund policy AFTER already made the booking.

Room Meh… Amenities Meh… Concierge douchie level high. However once you leave the resort South Tahoe is lovely.

Do not give them your phone number! (or give them a throwaway) Lady at the front desk wanted it, I said "only if you do not use it to telemarket me. " "Oh, no, this is only for any issues with the room. " I have received 6 telemarketing calls since staying there, trying to get me to take surveys, trying to market more vacations to me, etc. Five times I asked to be taken off the list, they are still calling. No, I did not go to any "time share presentation. " I paid full price. And no parking, not even for a motorcycle.

Poor business ethics! I got to the resort to check-in in which I had a reservation, and was told that they were all booked, and that they purposely overbook in case of no shows. So they sent us to another hotel a few blocks down. Not acceptable! the valet guy told us that we were about the 15th or so that they had already done that to on that day! the hotel they send us too said this is normal for the lake tahoe vacation resort. So, think twice before making a reservation with this hotel! thanks.

Very hard to get through to the front desk. We requested a lake view room well in advance and did not get one. Otherwise, nice resort.

Resort is OK. I stayed there almost 5 years ago with the "time share presentation" deal. 5 years later I still get phone calls trying to sell me vacation packages. I asked to be placed on the Do Not Call list every time — to no avail. Diamond Resorts, please stop this BS.

Our family stayed here December 26, 2014 through January 2, 2015. Great room, nice decor, full kitchen set up. Nice to have a kitchen to make a family breakfast before heading out to the slopes. (Safeway about 2 blocks away). We brought our 2 adult children and their spouses and had plenty of room for everyone. We all ate at the Bear Moon Cafe one night but the food was only ok and way over-priced. Most of us took advantage of the heated pool, sauna, and spas. Pool is amazing. Half is enclosed and the other half is outside, so you can swim under the windguard and stay warm in the pool while enjoying the snowy backdrop. Very nice overall. We will stay here, again and we highly recommend it. Ps. We were given $100 for seeing their timeshare which took a chunk off our bill New Year's Eve at the Friday's Station at Harrah's Casino (it was $98 per person, ouch).

We have stayed here several times, and purchased our Diamond ownership here. For those savvy enough to take advantage of the fluctuations in supply and demand here, you can get a great deal during the off seasons here. We have always enjoyed our stays here, construction activity notwithstanding and look forward to when the resort is completed and offers an even better experience. There are countless things to do in this area if you love the outdoors and outdoor activities such as bicycling, boating, hiking, exploring, photography of unique views, and visiting historical spots nearby.

Clean room, good customer service, and convenient (easy access to restaurants, shops, gas stations). We stayed from 12/31/13 — 1/2/14 and major half of the building is under renovation. They had valet parking which was nice but had to wait ~10 minutes to get the car. Bear Moon restaurant sucks but who would eat here. Power outage from 2-5am which is a weird and worst of all NO: (1) Wi-Fi access, (2) no phone access (AT&T or T-mobile). The receptionist said Verizon and Sprint are equally bad here. Wow.

My husband and I visited California last January and on our way home stayed at Tahoe. We own a small roofing company and this was the first vacation we had been on in years and ran the company on a temporary basis through email. Our room was absolutely perfect. While at your resort we ran into a company situation that needed to be resolved within a couple hours. I discovered that the internet was down due to weather and at that point called the front desk. Your front desk team went above and beyond. I was able to resolve all complications using your fax service and gracious employees who ran the paperwork up to me and faxed it on to my contact in South Dakota. Thank you for the service, the room and the overall pleasant experience.
