The Westin Palo Alto is a true jam, minutes away from Stanford University and Stanford Shopping Center. Fantastic stylish quiet modern rooms, jacuzzi jet tub and double showers, fireplace in select suites. Great French, Italian and Californian wine selection at hotel restaurant and bar. Bar food is excellent, better by a mile than a few decent local restaurants in University Ave. … Plenty of parking, great stuff, Reza in particular and others. Happy repeat customer of countless stays, my favorite place in Palo Alto, best five out of hundreds I’ve stayed.

The Palo Alto Westin has nice touches like shared courtyards for different wings. The bar is too small, so we skipped it, but Palo Alto's business district is easily walkable for food and drink. Check out Tacolicios. Rooms were clean. The staff was friendly. The gym has limited strength training equipment, but ample cardio.

Beautiful hotel, the rooms are very nice with plenty of outlets. The location is a 10 min walk to downtown Palo Alto and has a really nice lobby. Staff are friendly and helpful as well.

Perfect staff and great room service. They attend to all your needs. A little smaller than I expected but the service and rooms are top notch. You will not be disappointed.

Very friendly staff! Excellent location for Stanford and downtown Palo Alto. Large, quiet room. Good bed. Very dog-friendly (no fee) provide dog beds. Welcome gift for me and my dog. Unusually, I had room-service and it was very good and I didn't feel ripped-off! Burger, fries, dessert and 2 glasses of wine for $60. Will certainly return.

The hotel is centrally located to University avenue and Stanford shopping mall making accessibility to restaurants and shopping convenient. Westin is a efficient and functional hotel. The rooms are comfortable, the staff friendly. The Gym is small but has the equipment that you may require through a short stay.

Location is the best, facilities very new and nice. Gym is so-so compared to the brand and price. Walking distance to University Avenue… can't beat that! I would come back.

Fantastic staff, beautiful rooms, excellent service. Free use of the gym, high temp hot tub, cozy bar. Guest services even brought a microwave into our room so that my partner with dietary restrictions could eat their own food. Only complaint is that their site said there was free breakfast available at all room selections, but this is apparently not true for single queen bed rooms.

Location is great and the staff is helpful and polite. The possibilty to rent gym clothing for $5 for your stay is super helpful. The in-hotel gym is not big but has the basics: threadmills and weights. The rooms are clean and spacious. The bar has a good selection of drinks, although it closes a bit early. The only problem I found is that they struggle with their environment friendly initiative: had to ask twice and leave out the do do not disturb sign for the cleaners not to change the towels every day …

A more comfortable but more expensive alternative to the Sheraton next door, the Westin remains a questionable choice if you are after value for money. Amenities are notably sub par for a Westin, let alone a Westin charging that much, add 20$ self parking and you realize that you are paying for location, an a relatively noisy one at that. Can get strangely smelly at night if you leave the windows open to get some fresh air.

My stay at the Westin Palo Alto wasn't bad, it just wasn't good. The facility is super old and the rooms are not special. Any other location besides across the street from Stanford this place would cost $70 to $120 a night. They did shampoo my room right before I got there, but everything else about this place was just average. This includes the gym, food, the bed, the towels, and even the service. I would stay here again but just expect an average experience.

Nice hotel, like that the ground floor rooms all look out onto shared patios. Service overall is great. Gym could be improved with more non-cardio equipment.

We want to reserve 10 rooms for a wedding. It's been a month of back and forth emails with the Westin Sales Manager, and we have barely made any progress. It takes multiple emails to just get a response and when we do, there are often mistakes in the details.

Great hotel. The price is staggering. Nearly twice what I've usually paid at westins in other cities.

Had a fantastic experience at Westin Palo Alto. The rooms are neat and spacious. Even got a complimentary breakfast. But the breakfast could have definitely been better. The ambience surrounding this hotel is pretty cool. All in all a very good place to spend the night.

Always a pleasure! They pamper us, and our two pooches… Life is so much more wonderful when we can bring the doggies along!

Across th street frm Stanford university; Palo Alto medical center… Stanford shopping center (shops n restaurants) w/in walkin distance. Hotel is clean n service is attentive.

The entire staff is professional, friendly and I always am greeted with cheery, happy people. I will always stay here when possible. I always feel like I am home.

Good and conveniently located. Pool is super small though. Weekend brunch only has buffet style which is quite disappointed.

Very nice hotel albeit very pricey. But this is a given for the San Francisco bay area in general. If you're visiting Stanford, the Westin is about as close as you can get.

Just went there for dinner. Food was okay, the pork chop and burger were good but stay away from the seafood.

Room was nice, and the pool was relaxing. Got a generous pour from the bartender who told interesting stories! Fun visit!

Great location if you have things to do in Stanford… it's as simple as checking in and not having to worry about your car or parking…! I love it that you can walk to the campus and to University Avenue to get dinner or to Gott's Roadside burger in the shopping center next door…

A very nice hotel with good service. The rooms are comfortable. It is very well located, besides the University of Stanford. But the cost is too high.

I can't say enough great things about this hotel. Raj at the front desk is a top notch employee and we will definitely be back! Love this place and their outstanding service!

This place so nice and so close to everything. The front desk staff was so nice. The Sheraton was right next door and we could put our dinner bill on our room. The beds were comfy. They sent my Mom a good luck note and some fruit wising her luck at her appointment at Stanford. So sweet! Thank you!

Pretty run of the mill Westin location. It's always sold out week days even if you reserve months in advance, but you can find last minute cancellations. There's no lounge, but with status you do get a pretty decent breakfast. Another bonus is across the street at Stanford there are decent running trails.

This place was a last minute decision on our behalf. It was absolutely beautiful. We loved it. And will be staying there again if we are ever in the San Francisco area. All the staff was amazing. Loved the room service option. Enjoyed the Kobe beef burger.

Hotel staff were not forthcoming about a gas leak that they had while I was staying there. 5 employees were sent to the hospital that night and they didn't inform the guests. The only way I was notified was by ABC news who interviewed me in the morning when I left the building. NOT professional.

Smooth process and great room, although with subpar internet speeds. Was just a little difficult to use the room phone to 1) contact service express — it literally was always busy tone, and 2) call the front desk/concierge — there is no explicit direct way to do so.

Nice place to crash for a night, huge amazing bathroom and beds are comfortable, unfortunately I hadn't breakfast included, but the room had a coffee maker and drinks inside.

The room was nice but the staff was not the friendliest. The pool was nice and the self park was only $14.

This location has more of a boutique feel to it as it is small and the building is a bit older. I cannot say enough how impressed I have been with the service at this Westin. The staff have gone above and beyond during each stay, and have always been so warm and friendly as well as considerate.

I've never stayed at this hotel, but the hertz office is very good there.

The room was clean, but small. The TV was older (HD) — but cheap. It was noisy — so they might want to insulate the walls (ceiling especially) more. I would not stay again, as we have better options for the price locally and the fitness center is an afterthought.

When we arrived we were a little skeptical due to the exterior look of the building, but soon after checking in, the Westin quality was soon apparent. We stayed an extra night just because we enjoyed our first night so much. The pool is great and the jacuzzi is perfect! Bar service is usually available to the pool! The folks at the Westin were really good to me. It's clean, beautiful and intimate. Feels like a boutique hotel when you walk in and also in the lounge and bar area. I usually like to stay at the Rosewood, and was not looking forward to the Westin, but it was a good experience and the location is superb. Comfy beds and pillows.

Wireless coverage wasn't sufficient to reach my room, internet cable provided was broken, dual shower head was broken so I wasn't able to wash my hair without crouching, front desk checked another guest into my room about an hour after my arrival. Despite all the little things that were wrong, they are one of the most expensive chain hotels in the area. I frequently stay in this area for business, and would never stay at this hotel again. For 1/2 to 1/3rd the price, there are much better options with all of the nice amenities at many of the small boutique hotels and inns in the area. The room and amenities were very nice otherwise, and the on premise restaurant served a very delicious breakfast buffet.

Very disappointing. This hotel doesn't realize that it's a reasonably upmarket hotel, and behaves like it's something cheap and not very cheerful. Staff did the bare minimum consistently, the room was pretty standard and could be the same as you'd see in a hotel 100 bucks cheaper, and they try to milk you for all you're worth — e. G the parking costs 10 dollars even though they have plenty of space, Wi-Fi is 10 dollars for a not great connection. We were actually supposed to get free Wi-Fi (corporate rate) and we checked this on booking, and when we arrived. When we got to the booking desk they refused to take this off the account, and quibbled that they wouldn't without the names of the people we'd spoken to or suggested we dredge up some emails to prove it. Not good enough given the supposed calibre of the hotel and also the fact that they advertised the rate as having free Wi-Fi. The cleaner also left our room unlocked and open for the whole day and they barely apologized for this. Overall, incredibly disappointing would not stay again and advise others to avoid.
