Great location, nice staff, very clean. Wi-Fi not great, but we got by. Comfortable beds. Loved the outside patio area surrounded by gardens.

Best motel I’ve stayed at — even better than many hotels. Clean, comfortable room. Ample, free parking. 10 minutes from the beach or downtown bars and restaurants. Hot tub open until 11pm. Friendly staff and a surprisingly great continental breakfast.

Excellent price for the location. Much cheaper than alternatives in the area, and is very comfortable. No pool, but breakfast and hot tub is provided. I would highly recommend staying here, best hotel for the price in the area.

Super clean and spacious for the price! Staff were very sweet and friendly when it came to checking in, housekeeping and checking out. Room had a microwave which is a huge plus when you wake up with munchies! Towels could use a bit of fabric softener as they were a bit rough, the complimentary shampoo was my favorite! The breakfast is ok for what you can expect as a free continental breakfast. Overall really enjoyed my stay, would recommend to get a king size bed as I made the mistake of getting a queen as it was a bit too small for 2 grown adults.

The customer service is simply amazing. The first person you meet at the front desk is so professional and helpful about all aspects of the place. We loved the jacuzzi and the interior of each room. Plenty of parking as well for the place. We stayed overnight in Santa Cruz and thought this place was perfect for us.

The front service was very nice. The king bed suite I stayed in was very spacious and clean. The complementary soap, lotion, and shampoo was fantastic compared to most places. The breakfast was great. Loved the hot tub as well! Will definitely stay here again whenever I come to SC!

An expensive four nights, but convenient and comfortable. Minor irritation with Wi-Fi, solved via a reboot of the router. Wall receptacle flaky, intermittent. We've stayed at Mission Inn many times, and the mistake on this visit was cooccurrence with UCSC graduation weekend.

A lot of places are in walking distance so the location is great. Light breakfast in the morning. Staff was helpful.

The hotel was decent and for the price it was definitely worth it. I specifically wanted a hotel with a tub I could bath in, I'm 7 months pregnant so it needed to be a decent sized tub. I enjoyed the tub, but the jacuzzi jets were way too loud. I had to turn them off after a minute because they were giving me a headache. The staff was friendly and the location was convenient. I would definitely recommend it.

Lovely little Inn. And the receptionist was very charming, helpful and just so amazing. He went above and beyond on answering all are questions. Their room is so relaxing specially the one with the jetted tub. Breakfast is also included on our stay, and we really did enjoy the food selections. It's quite far from the beach but that's just fine for my bf and I, we'll still choose to stay here.

Our room was large and clean. The staff was friendly. We went to Santa Cruz as a last vacation before our first child was due, so I was 7 months pregnant. I really wanted a hotel room with a large enough bath to soak in. The room delivered. My only complaint would be that the jacuzzi jets in the tub were really loud.

My fiancé and I came here with our two year old daughter tonight. We just lost our dog and it was pretty hard on our little family so we planned an impromptu vacation to Santa Cruz to lift our spirits. We found this cozy little spot and decided to stay. The gentleman and the woman that checked us in were so kind. We hadn’t been here for even two hours and there was a shift change or something like that. Well we were getting ready for around 11:00. Just doing our routine, taking a bath etc. We were tired so not to much talking going on besides our daughter doing her normal toddler talk. Anyway we had a knock and at the door and my fiancé (he’s a bulky guy, has an arm tattoo and rough hands. He’s a hard working, scruffy guy, but the kindest heart. ) answered the door. A man said there was a noise complaint. We were kind of surprised because we hadn’t hardly made any noise. No music, no TV, nothing besides our essential oil diffuser lol. Our daughter wasn’t even crying or being loud. My fiancé said oh, that’s strange we were not making much noise but we’ll be quieter. The man gave my fiancé an awful look and said “Yeah? How about you drop the attitude” and I came up because I heard. I said hi what’s going on? And he got very defensive and got very close to my fiancé’s face. It caused a very uneasy feeling. It changed the vibe of our whole room and our mood. It scared me. Especially since we were kind of in a sad mood anyway and trying to be happy.

This hotel was past our expectations. It was clean and the clerk was attentive to our needs. It was a quiet place to stay very close to everything we come to visit once we are in Santa Cruz. Will be our place to return to.

I had car problems and was in a pinch. The desk clerk was so sweet and helpful. Plus the room itself was very nice.

Great place to stay for a night in Santa Cruz. Only thing I didn't like were the pillows but that's a personal preference thing. Continental breakfast was a nice touch.

Simple hotel in a great location. Although not located in downtown Santa Cruz, there are dining options within walking distance. Clean and relatively inexpensive.

Have stayed here several times over the last 7 years. Easy in easy out. A remodel of the rooms is very nice. Will stay again for sure.

The woman working the desk could not have been nicer and got the stay off to a good start. The room was nice, with decent shampoo, etc. And the shower was good. For the price it was great, especially if you know what you're going to get when you book one of these older motels. Like a lot of updated, hip motels, the rooms are just noisy; it's the curse of those old buildings and the motel design, right on the street. We were there on a Saturday night and if some of the guests are a little rambunctious, you're going to hear all of it. In our room the flat screen was in bad condition and the coffee maker didn't work after the first cup. But overall a good deal and a good night's stay.

We were greeted warmly by Rebecca when checking in, and had a great conversation with her about the early years of Santa Cruz. Our room was downstairs in the back, and other than the sound of cars coming around back to park, it was quiet with a very comfortable bed. We sat in the spa on Sunday morning and enjoyed some peaceful relaxation. We didn't eat in the breakfast room so we can't comment on that, but overall, our stay was short but very nice. Close proximity to the UCSC campus and downtown were plusses for us. We'll return!

This hotel was a nice surprise; I wasn’t expecting nothing like this! My room is excellent (space, condition, materials, cleanliness, bed). The staff is nice and professional.

GREAT location, near gas stations, grocery stores, food. Awesome beds! nice clean rooms, good showers, no pool but the Jacuzzi was nice! def recommend to anyone staying in Santa Cruz!

I highly recommend this place. The prices are already reasonable for California. The rooms clean and nicely decorated. And the owner is an AMAZING" compassionate human being… We were there because my little brother had passed away. We didn't know how long we would be there taking care of his affairs. On the back of our door in the room was a sign (guess it was an old sign) that said a different price (much lower than we had already paid) for one week. We noticed it after we had checked in. We went down and inquired about it, and the owner just happened to over hear us and the reason we were there & that we had seen this sign on the back of the door. He went ahead and honored that price! They were very personable and caring, they really took extra care, above and beyond! We were dealing with an unreasonable crematorium, that was making the loss that much more painful. The hotel allowed us to use their fax "several" times… they went over & beyond to make a very difficult time as easy as possible. We later ran into the owner when we were out (Ken Clark) in the community at a neighboring business & he bought us a drink. Can't really say enough good things about the owner and this place in Santa Cruz CA. Sometimes its the little things that matter, but in this case there were also "HUGE" things that really mattered, especially at such a difficult time. Thank you again Ken and staff at "Mission Inn" in Santa Cruz California! :-)

Very cute place! Location is great, room I stayed in clean and spacious. Bed comfortable and everything worked. Very friendly staff and yummy bagels, cream cheese, bananas, strawberries, peanut butter and jelly. Great breakfast hours 7 am-11 am. Nice and quite, lots of parking. It's a bonus to have Safeway and Starbucks across the street. Very reasonably priced. Highway 1 just out the door and trails for biking and running. Nice place to stay! See you again and thank you.

Very nicely decorated rooms. Super clean, spacious and quiet. Yummy donut shop across the street! Grocery store and restaurants within walking distance! Close to the boardwalk and others beaches. Would stay here again and again.

Clean and easy free parking. Wifi is good and fast. Sauna is on a weird spot and need a key for it. Breakfast have a lot of options. No safe in the room.

The room was really clean, spacious and modern looking. Definitely exceeded my expectations. The staff is friendly and prepared. The hotel is at walking distance from Safeway, gas station, banks and other facilities. It's also at walking distance from the beach. The breakfast is certainly to be improved. Overall, awesome bang for the buck when you pay 100USD a night.

Nice clean hotel, basic, but clean. Would not eat the breakfast they provide, not very good. Only good was the prepackaged yougurt. Dinning room very cramped, and not easy to move around to ger your serving. Hotel is located near beach, shopping and dinning.

Great location, clean rooms, easy access to freeway, friendly staff, the works. All in all a very enjoyable visit!

The overall stay was fantastic; the only problem I had with it was the functionality of the doorhandle the bathroom door and the missing sheets for the couch bed. The door handle still worked, but it looked and felt as it was going to fall off; very loose. The couch bed had no sheets and there were no spare sheets in the room for it. The worker that came by was more than happy to provide the sheets and make the bed, so it made up for it.

Mission Inn was a great experience! Friendly staff, very comfortable rooms, and accessable to great food and the coast. Will no doubt stay here again in the future. Great complimentary breakfast too!

Our family has stayed here on multiple occasions because of the location and the price. Only a few blocks away from the beach and maybe 2 miles from UCSC, this is a great affordable option!

The Mission Inn surpassed our expectations for comfort and cleanliness. I agree that the mattress and sheets were wonderful. Rebecca took care of our reservation and was so pleasant and efficient at the front desk. Mission Inn will get all our business from now on when we visit family in Santa Cruz.

The bed was very comfortable, the sheets clean, room well lit. Sufficient outlets and the lamps have a USB charging port. The heater was capable, but made a loud rattling noise, which woke everyone up repeatedly, even prompting us to get up and give it a whack several times. The breakfast was not much more than a check box on a form though. The microwave, which is used to heat up the paper wrapped sausage biscuit egg cheese sandwiches was difficult for everyone to use. The biscuits were more like their long lost cousin, Hard Tack. The gravy was cold, I think the crock pot didn't work. The room was very small, and people were constantly bumping into each other. The hot tub was small, and old, but appeared to be in good working condition, and was hot enough. We paid over $200 for a Saturday night.

Location was great, a nice morning jog to the beach, breakfast provided (bagels, fruit, hard boiled eggs, coffee, tea), and a nice spa. For this price this is great. Would stay again.

Great staff and very affordable! My only gripe was that my sheets and towels had stains and when I asked for new ones I was given more stained towels and sheets. I assume they just aren't using enough bleach. The included breakfast is not good either so I would recommend just going out. Other than that though I am very happy with my stay.

Plenty of parking, clean rooms, pleasant staff with plenty of area brochures (and coupons! ) Close to really good restaurants, liquor store & grocery store. My room had a microwave and refrigerator, so grocery store food saved $$. The breakfast was decent. The hot tub was out of the way, quiet and clean. The traffic in this area is much better than where the majority of the hotels are at a really reasonable price. Santa Cruz can be pricey!

Really clean room and confortable.

Inexpensive, comfortable, clean and close to good food and above all to UC Santa Cruz. My daughter studies there so I stay st the inn a few times a year.

Great place, nice people with a good feeling. It's probably the best place to stay if you plan on biking to Wilder in the morning or riding up route 1 on your bicycle. (Or you can walk/ run/ hike the trails in Wilder too. ) I wasn't crazy about the blankets, but the staff is super accommodating, and they provide a generous (if over-starch based) breakfast. A bike shop is right near by, my choice the next time I visit. Oh, and there's a great taqueria and laundromat, within a block away. Well worth it.

This place was pretty nice. Expected a little more for the price, but the room was clean and the mattresses were really comfortable. Breakfast was lame though.

My room very clean and comfortable. Not very good for handicapped access, as there are many steps to get to breakfast room. When making reservation be sure to ask for a walk in shower.

The good: fridge, microwave, iron, clean bathroom, no restrictions on the Television. The bad: electrical outlets don't hold electrical plugs and completely useless, Bathroom door doesn't close, $160 for 1 room with 2 beds (August), the tax brings the total to $170. No pool. Complaints: the blond Caucasian women, was vary rude and disrespectful in the main office. Conclusion: overpriced but comparable to a holiday inn.

This place is nice and quiet will definetly return. Service excellent and breakfast was great! 4 out of 4 stars in my book. :).

Really liked this place. Best non-chain we've ever stayed at. $79 October rate seemed very fair.

Clean and good. Although nothing special. Nice hot jacuzzi for cold evenings.
