Second time staying here. Rooms are great, awesome views, nice pool and spa. COVID safe coffee bar offered in the mornings. Super close to the beach and Boardwalk, and the Wharf. Several nice restaurants nearby too :-)

Amazing service, atmosphere and accommodations!

The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the rooms are spacious and clean and almost all have a beautiful view of the beach.

Great hospitality and was upgraded since it was our anniversary. Rooms were nice with a great shower. Can’t beat the location either.

Everything was spectacular, weather, views, location, staff and rooms. We were there with family and had all 5 rooms on the top terrace, it was just great for our group. Loved the deck.

We loved this hotel, we had a cabana suite by the pool and really enjoyed everything about the hotel, close to everything, nice room with kitchen and nice bathroom, hopefully we can visit again.

This place was awesome! Beautiful rooms, fabulous location and views of the beach. Loved the pool, the fire pit, the free coffee, and all the restaurants and shops nearby. Everyone was so nice-can’t wait for our next trip there.

Excellent customer service. Gentlemen in the office were super personable, professional and accommodating. Cute place right on the beach. PERFECT for a family. No hassle with parking and quick walk to and from Boardwalk.

Fab position but they really should have advised guests that have already booked that the pool would not be available due to construction and ought to have reduced the rate as the pool was one of the reasons I chose this hotel.

Just found this place on internet and decided to give it a shot. Very happy with the place, spacious room, nice bath, balcony overlooking the beach and ocean. Friendly staff. Unlimited free coffee and lattes. Very happy!

Clean room, awesome stay. We felt the value here was really good, and the double room with a main living space was perfect since we have a couple little ones who needed to get to bed earlier to make the most of the Boardwalk. The location above the beach is perfect, the cafe down on the street was awesome and fast. The staff was friendly and coffee was always ready in the lobby. I wish they gave us free parking for all of the days we stayed, that seems obvious, but that was the only drawback. I think we paid $15 per day after the first day free. The pool looked really nice, although we didn't use it, there was often another family swimming and splashing.

We stayed in the bigger (6 guest) room. Really nice room (murphy bed and pull-out couch). Could hear the ocean. Nice views. Parking is limited; one car per room and they are serious about that. Very easy to walk to Boardwalk or beach. We will absolutely consider here again for our next trip.

If you are going to stay in Santa Cruz then do yourself a favor and stay here! Beautiful rooms, romantic views and walking distance to food, entertainment, and of course the beach.

This stay was nothing short of amazing. Such a pleasure to have stayed in the bungalow suite with plenty of room for our family of four. The view was stunning! We will definitely be returning. Until then, thank you Beach Street Inn.

The staff, the rooms and location are awesome! Big shout out to Manny and the night desk man for all there recommendations and help. They were both very cool and helpful.

On a road trip, we just happened to land in Santa Cruz where we saw the amazing view that beach street inn had of the pier. It was also highly rated on travel sites so we stopped in. The room was a little pricey but it had beach view and a very good size bathroom and shower area. The room was a perfect fit for 2 couples and the coffee set up was above any other hotel we stayed at. My only complaint was that just wish there was a mirror outside of the bathrooms to get ready in. My hair doesn't like humidity so I had to get ready in the room using my tiny compact mirror. Other that that, I loved this stay and would totally stay again.

Convenient access to wharf and boardwalk. Coffee available all day. Friendly service. A fitness room would make it ideal.

No complaints… Price was fair, we went during the week and off season… Room was nice, overlooking the beach… Great staff…

We got the family suite. There was a hole above the toilet something was obviously there at one time. The Tv kept ongoing out. The Olympics were on. Not a happy camper. It appeared that they had just put shutters in both rooms the unsightly Mark of the drapes weren't even tried to be covered up. There were no hangers but they did find an assortment of mismatched hangers. There were two nice queen sizes beds a single with a little hid-a-way under it but not one table. For the money we paid it was a disappountment.

Beach house is great! Try to get upstairs as downstairs is noisy (from people walking upstairs) Super location.

Old, run down, in need of some basic necessities like blankets, clean sheets, kitchen towels. That said, they're trying to do some updates, the location is good, and they allow dogs. If you're not a snob, this place is not too bad.

Beach Street Inn & Suites has been our favorite go-to Santa Cruz Inn for a few years now even over The Dream Inn. It is a great place for families or just a couples get away. The staff and hospitality people are always friendly and helpful! The office has complementary coffee and tea and basic breakfast offerings in the morning.
The rooms are very spacious with all of the ones we've stayed in having a mini kitchen stocked with the basics: mini fridge, plates/bowls/utensils, toaster etc. Bathrooms are great with large showers and if you get there prior to your check in time there is a full bath in the office where you can change clothes if you're heading to the beach. Located directly across the street from the beach the view is fabulous with street scenes (great people watching) as well as the frequent beach volleyball games and tournaments, action on the pier and glimpses of rides at the Boardwalk. The patio outside the rooms is shared with all the rooms on your level but it does not feel like you're in each other's spaces. We love sitting on the patio with coffee in the morning and/ or with a cocktail or glass of wine in the evening.
There is also a swimming pool if you prefer to stay sand-free. The Boardwalk is just steps away and a wonderful cafe below the Inn, The Picnic Basket, is a must go to as well, offering local coffee and fresh food options such as salads and sandwiches along with breakfast items.

Easy walk to wharf and Boardwalk. Clean room. We were in a 500 room which was located at the top level next to the pool (with no view). The bathroom was pretty large with a newly renovated shower. The main room was not large but cozy. No room safe and very little storage (no real closet). Staff was friendly and there was coffee/tea and hot chocolate for the kids off the lobby.

It has a beach house feel. You are a short walk to the warf and the boardwalk. Coffee (from black to lattes), tea & hot chocolate provided at the office all hours. I enjoyed our stay. Be aware that parking is one car per room but if they are not full they may grant an extra spot.

The only negative is that there is no elevator and a lot of stairs. But they do have rooms that you don't need the stairs to get to, but we stayed on the first floor, which was awesome, and had to log the luggage a lot of stairs. Overnight stay. We stayed on the first floor, which is closest to all the action. The room has everything you need, fridge, microwave, stove. For lunch, went to the small sandwich shop literally below the hotel. Delicious Ruben. I ordered from the Thai restaurant for dinner and a brief stroll to pick that up. Beautiful view from the shared balcony. Then in the morning, the front office has this coffee maker that you can get espresso, cappuccino, latte, etc. It makes it in like 30 seconds! The pool is nice too. 5 star review.

This place is awesome! We kept extending our stay. The rooms were super clean and updated. The views were spectacular; and the morning coffee to our rooms — awesome! Staff was nice and helpful the whole stay. I can't wait to go back. For $229 a night with an ocean view — can't beat that! Staying here is a must if you want the beach Santa Cruz experience! Also, all restaurants are on the pier in very close walking distance. Perfection!

I highly recommend. Great location. Get a room with a view. We were in room 303. Perfect for my family of 3.

My family has been staying at this location for over 40 years. Before it was the beach street inn it was the Terrace Court. There are pictures of me and my grandmother sitting on the entrance when I was just a kid. I started taking my family there it was a staple. My wife and I stayed there with are 5 and 7 year old last year and the neighbors right next to us got in to trouble. There was hookers and drug dealers and the cops got called and it was an absolute mess. Rather than good customer service and saying sorry they accused us of being associated with the derelicts and ask us not to come back. They said to get a police report and they might consider changing there mind. Me being heart broken and beside myself of being wrongfully accused called Santa Cruz Police which were very kind and helpful said no one was arrested just ask to leave that night so there was no record of the incident. We even stayed another night after that and everything was fine and dandy until there miss confusion and had us involved and would not even take a second look. Well I just really hope they don't do this to anyone else because the feeling is absolutely sickening. To be accused of such actions is absolutely horrible and for them to do that is just wrong and they should be ashamed of it.

I travel alot in the bay area and this place was definitely the best hotel I have ever stayed at, loved it so much I stayed at few extra nights! Rooms and bathrooms have all the bells and whistles, especially large walk in showers with amazing pressure and plenty of hot water (I have always judged hotels for lack of water pressure and hot water) The price was cheap for the room you're quality and the service was very friendly. Will be back again.

The owner cancelled our reservation 2 days before our arrival. She said she has the right to refuse service to anyone. We had been staying at this hotel before she purchased it and every year the price goes up and the service gets worse. I have never had a hotel cancel my reservation 2 days before my arrival. In the past, I had a problem with the owner continually walking through our balcony. She is not hospitable and she does not have a good heart. I called 2 weeks ago to ask if there was another room available and she said there was but I needed to book 3 nights instead of 2. I explained I am already staying 2 nights and she said that is the only way I can get another room. I feel she is greedy and only cares about how much money they need to make to build their new rooms. I would not recommend staying at this Hotel and supporting a business owner who has no regard for customer service. SHE MAY CANCEL YOUR RESERVATION at any time and tell you "she has the right to refuse service to anyone" even if it means getting someone who is interested in multiple nights. There are better hotels nearby with exceptional customer service and fantastic owners.

The hotel is in a great location because at 5 minutes walk there is a boardwalk, and 10 minutes there is pacific ave. The rooms were very spacious, modern and clean as was the bathroom. The shared terrace with armchairs in front of the door of the room is the perfect place to relax after a long day. At the reception they were friendly (even if the instructions were not always clear). The Wi-Fi was not great, sometimes you sconnetteva. Shame about the price a little expensive even out of season.

This place was super cool, but pricey. I guess for super cool one has to pay. It was fun to have a suite with rooms like a kitchen and bedrooms and a sitting room and a balcony when you have kids and adults. The location was exquisite — next to beach and boardwalk. There was a cool pool, and I mean temperature bit chilly. The parking was ok if you have one car but we did not. This area was a challenge for parking as it is a high-demand area. The outdoor balcony allowed us to hear the sea lions or whatever animal was making some noise in the night in the Ocean. I did like the Rusk shampoo and lotion.

We stayed here on the second day of our coastline vacation and we LOVED it! Clean and beautiful room! Shower was outstanding and the bed comfy and wonderful! The salt water taffy was yummy. And we will definitely be back for another visit! Thank You Beach Inn.

Our room was exceptional! Larger than most apartments, fully furnished (seriously, lacked nothing! ) and had a great beach decor; clean and comfortable. Just steps to coffee shop, shopping, Boardwalk, Wharf, and the 25 cent Trolley, that makes the loop to downtown every half-hour, stops right across the street! We literally could have left our car in the hotel lot and not needed it for 4 days! The staff was efficient and professional, yet made us feel so welcome.

EWE! Avoid the suites if you plan to use anything in the kitchen. Oh and check the sheets for stains! I'll start with the positive — this location is great, very close to the beach and boardwalk and the pool has a lot of toys for the kids. The bathrooms are nice as well. As for the EWE review. We had a suite and traveled with kids and two adults. The first thing we noticed was what looked like blood stains on the sheets in one of the bedrooms. We called and fairly quickly the staff came in and changed the sheets (still — they should look for this before making a bed! ). In the morning we wanted to make the kids breakfast — in fact the whole reason we chose the suite is so we could cook in the kitchen and not have to eat out every meal. We went to cook breakfast and noticed food crusted on the spatula and utensils. We had to go out and buy takeout breakfast to eat at the hotel and had to wash the utensils on our own with bath soap. Because there was no dish soap in the kitchen. When we checked out we asked to speak to the manager of the hotel regarding these issues — it is a $500/night suite so we would expect cleanliness. We were told the manager would call us which she never did so we followed up the next day. The manager was combative from the beginning with us saying we cooked as she saw pans in the sink — we explained that we started cooking then went to get a spatula and realized it was filthy.

If you want to stay at a place with a view then this would be the place. Was not happy with the price to pay for the comfort though. The beds were so uncomfortable and couldn't get the outside light off at the back door. No one at the front desk at night for any help. Also, it advertised Free HBO there was none. If I would stay at this place again, NO. Too overly priced for the comfort.

This place is wonderful for anyone who likes sitting on the patio and watching the ocean. It is within a short walk of the Boardwalk, Wharf and Beach. I would warn anyone who has an issue with climbing not to book the first tier (as we did) since it requires lugging ones baggage down a steep driveway or stairs but once you get there the view is worth it. We were lucky, Linsey at the front desk helped us haul our stuff to the room, offering to do another load for us if needed. (She carried the heaviest suitcase plus extra) She also took care of another issue for us, men doing remodeling or updating work outside our patio door (we were there during the off season so this is to be expected). She told us that we would be given a small adjustment on our bill for the disturbance but when we checked out we had to ask for it, thinking that she must have just forgotten since she did do her best to make our stay a pleasant one. The place across the street, Ideal coffee house served very good food and has specials a few times a week that are worth a visit. (service was great). We did order out a couple of times for pizza and chinese and found the food dull and not worth the money better to go out. If you want there is a little market a few steps away for those little snacks etc you may find you want or need.
