Stayed the night before Mother’s Day & after a year since staying for our Class Reunion, and more times in the past. But, I’m very very disappointed this time, not what one would expect from a Hilton Honors affiliate. The check-in was somewhat unpleasant, the reception clerk Victor didn’t even give pleasantries, good greetings, or smiled! Just asked for my name & drivers license. He’s English wasn’t so good & I understand, but he could’ve try to be just more friendly & provide better customer service. Upon conclusion of our check-in, he just handed my keys & two water bottles which I had to request a bag for because I had seen the other Reception Clerks bagging the water bottles before handing it to them. Then, no “thank you & have a nice stay”! Think, I thought he was inexperienced, but the hotel needs to provide more training when staffing the front desk when dealing with people on a day to day basis. Another gripe I have is the horrendous parking fee which I was told was $27, didn’t disclose it includes a $2.50 tax charge?! It’s almost $30 then. I thought, it’s way too expensive for a self park not even a valet parking, & the location is not even in the middle of the City, it’s by the Peninsula. What I don’t understand is what constitute for them to charge such a high parking fee since my car just sat in the lot overnight?! When all the other fees like City & tourists assessment have already been charged & included?! I thought the room that night had a reasonable price $134 + taxes, parking = $182.31, guess they like to get you elsewhere, it’s ridiculous! This will be the last time I’ll stay at this place for sure! And, won’t even recommend them anymore to my visiting friends & family even though I’m a Hilton member.
