I am stil here but I have been here before I was pleased last time expect more of the it seems to have had a bit of a remodel which has improved its ambiance.

Great location & atmosphere.

Charming little inn with gorgeous landscape and incredible views. The rooms are super-cute and very clean. Love it!

Really lovely property located right on Moonstone Beach. Beautiful rooms. We've been coming here since the mid-80's. Our favorite place.

A clean and cozy hideaway place!

We stayed here before the start of school back in August — absolutely love this place. Amazing scenery, fire pit in front, gas fireplace inside the room, wonderful little patio in back and refrigerator for our drinks and food.

Clean, dog friendly, nice breakfast and right across from the beach.

Staff was absolutely amazing! basket breakfast a BIG hit, pretty gardens.

The motel is very cute a little noisy from the fireplace going on and off and traffic on the highway. It is a perfect place to stay if you are traveling through cambria and you are right across from the ocean with beautiful sunsets. Everything is very clean and has all the amenities like fridge, coffee maker, microwave etc. They have a pool and sauna which was not open at this time and a outdoor fire pit.

First time visiting This beautiful town and Sea otter Inn was the best place to stay super quiet and such a peaceful visit and the view was beautiful delicious breakfast was served and delivered right at your door. My family enjoyed the jacuzzi and the whole stay the receptionist was super friendly and helpful.

We just returned from our family vacation at Sea Otter Inn. Pet friendly, breakfast in a basket, ocean across the street, firepits and swimming pool… it was all such a treat. My kids made a great memory. Downtown Cambria was very cute, and the food was great! Only 10minutes away from Hearst Castle and Elephant Seals. Will def visit again.

We stayed in the suite, and we literally have no complaints.
It’s clean, comfortable, spacious, great location, and a nice breakfast delivered to your door.
All the cookies are good and the coffee is hot and good. The pool was a nice temperature. A nice place to rest.

Tried to check in at normal time of 3 and Tom told us he only had 2 employees to clean 20 rooms and ours was not ready. We were gracious and said no problem we were going to eat anyway. We came back at 4:45 pm and got into our room. At 930 our cable went out, called the front desk and Tom said I’ll walk you through it. I said It’s your property I not sure you need to fix it. Tom did come over and reboot it, but it went out again 3 times. Tom said we close at 10, what do you want me to do, call maintenance? I said yes, are you the manager? Tom said “no I’m just an employee “ My impression was he didn’t want to deal with any problems, he just wanted to go home at 10. Nice place, but that guy needs some customer service skills.

The garden patio attached to the room was surprisingly pretty and relaxing to be in. Breakfast burrito was a bit bland but it's included, so can't complain about that!

We decided to stop one night here during our drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco, we choose the coast route to enjoy the Ocean view during our travel and it would be a very long drive without a real stop. But if we are going to repeat this journey in the future we will sure stop for two nights at least to enjoy the place and the beach.

Nice rooms, great location. Awesome breakfast. It would have been 5 stars if they were nice about the kids being with us. A little snobby. No need for that. Not sure if they wanted us there at the end.

You cant beat the ocean views and walking the boardwalk-ability. The hotel was charming and modern and old fashioned ay the same time (loved the old time windows with screens and ocean breezes… then the Wi-Fi and thermostat stone fireplace). One of the best part was the personal service of free breakfast delivered in a picnic basket on a hook by your door. No dragging your butt outta bed, spiffing up and mingling with unawake other people just so you don't miss the dang free food deadline. And the pool, jacuzzi, fireplace… etc. My husband and I LOVED the hobbit-ville bushes the best.

Love this town and hotel. The rooms are cozy with a fireplace, the inn has a pool and firepits outside. The beach and walking paths are across the street. Finally they deliver you breakfast to your room in a basket. Love it here!

Beautiful location, updated bathroom and nice amenities. Enjoyed our delicious breakfast delivery, and all of the beautiful flowers. Will definitely be coming back!

Great equipped motel, right by the sea, with friendly service, great breakfast in the room and gas fireplace. Very clean and tidy. We will most certainly come back.

On the moonstone beach drive. Nice rooms and have a great private back patio area on each as well as public fire tables with blankets overlooking the ocean.

All I can say really is WOW! This place totally made our coastal trip worth it all! After being painfully violated by the Hotel Zephyr and their totally outrageous parking fees in San Francisco (56 freaking dollars per night) the Sea Otter Inn was such a breath of fresh air. Upon arrival we were greeted by the super friendly gentleman (Tom) at the desk. (They had complimentary coffee and cookies that smelled absolutely divine! ) Out of the blue, we were told that we were the lucky couple and were upgraded to a SUITE! WOW! The room was amazing with a beautiful living room with a fireplace, two full bathrooms, a large bedroom as well as a beautiful rear patio with cute chairs and flowers. The location is in the dead center of Moonstone Beach. Oh yeah… One more thing… You are given a breakfast menu to fill out and sometime around 8am breakfast is served! A totally cute picnic basket with the breakfast of your choice (vegetarian, bacon burritos or danishes with fruit) along with utensils, napkins, cups and two carafes, one with milk and the other orange juice. Holy smokes! What an amazing place to stay in Moonstone. Oh, did I mention the seating and outside fire pits? Another WOW!

Located across from beach. Room comfortable. Your breakfast is brought to you in a picnic basket. Only about a mile from downtown Cambria. Wonderful place to get away and just relax.

I've stayed here three times now. I love it. Each room has it's own attributes that you will enjoy. Even if you bring kids… which I haven't yet… it would be enjoyable. I cannot wait to make more memories here.

We have stayed at Sea Otter Inn twice now for a total of 7 nights. We will not stay anywhere else. The staff on site are helpfull and courteous. The breakfast in the picnic basket delivered to your door (you pick what you want from a menu) in the morning is plentiful, great tasting and filling. Hot tub, heated swimming pool. Right across from the Pacific Ocean. Watched a missle launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base this morning from my king garden patio. We'll be back again soon for sure!

Not what it used to be. But it was okay. And clean. Very soft water and no tubs, all showers. Pool and Hot tub are nice.

The rooms right on the water are fantastic. The showers have heater lamp and extractor fans. The waterfront rooms are very spacious and have adirondack chairs out front, and inside there's a good size TV and a gas fireplace. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast delivered to your room door. The view from the room is spectacular.

Great place to spend a weekend, suite is very nice. Great staff as well. Check in was painless.

All of the reviews are right. If you are looking to get away, this is a place to do it. Couple of things never mentioned. 1. There is a great elevated walkway across the street. It runs about a mile from north to south. There are paths taking you to the water's edge benches to sit and admire the view. My wife is the early riser and goes out every morning for a walk and shoots pictures until her finger wears out. 2. Just two doors south is a great little bar and grill. It has a huge patio facing the ocean. Great for dining at sunset.

Sea Otter Inn is clean and inviting. All rooms have fireplaces. They have a heated pool and spa. They also have fire pits for everyone to enjoy. They serve you breakfast at your door on a picnic basket. You can purchase wine and the staff is very friendly. Great prices and beautiful location across from the ocean. You literally walk across the street and your at the beach!

We really enjoyed our stay! We did a last minute trip to see the Cambria Christmas Market, and the Sea Otter had rooms at a great price, and when we got there, we were told the market was sold out that night (we already had tix), but patrons of the hotel would be admitted by showing their key card. They also have a great breakfast option, where you leave your choice of breakfast burrito on a door hanger by 7 pm, and the next morning they deliver a breakfast basket to your door! Loved our stay! :)

One of the most charming hotels I've ever been. Right in front of the seashore, cozy rooms with fireplace, very clean and silent. They leave the breakfast at your door in the morning and the staff is great. Totally recommendable.

My wife and I decided to stay at the Sea Otter Inn, and was upgraded to the Room with an ocean view. Arriving behind schedule with news like that made our stay a lot better. The room was very welcoming and the staff are so sweet. Waves crashing by the shore, early morning fog, wild flowers, ground squirrels, wild birds, there's just so much your sense can take it. Amazing little get away for the both of us, and we would definitely return.

Great location. Beds not comfortable, shower door fell off the track. Nice sitting areas outside, including outdoor fireplaces. Overall good, clean motel.

This place is adorable! Its right across the street from the ocean and is not crowded by tourists. Breakfast comes in a basket and some rooms have their own little backyard courtyard. The rooms are very clean and the complex is quiet. I will be coming back.

Very kindly stayed open for us to book a room. Rooms were nice. Complimentary but small breakfast.

They give free breakfast and it is right by the beach. There is a pool and a spa. It is very quaint and quiet. It is perfect for couples.

A cottage-y feel and lots of plants. Ok breakfast items delivered right to your door in the morning. Right off of Moonstone Beach Dr next to the boardwalk. Not the friendliest staff in the world. All in all though a nice place.

The bathroom wasn't very clean. And there was som food on the floor.

This was a great place to stay and they are dog friendly. You can't leave the dog there by itself but it better than nothing. Cant beat the location.

Over rated, overpriced and no air conditioning. Arrived and checked in room was in excess of 80 deg. Called desk & was told they did not have air conditioning. Stayed one night, but my Asthma began to bother me. Checked out 1 day early and contacted Expedia about the lack of air conditioning. No help. Contacted American Express and hotel claimed they offered me a fan. NOT TRUE! Even if it was true, there were no screens on the windows. This place deals in false advertising as does Expedia. I would advise anyone to stay away from both. No need to go into the breakfast, it was nothing to brag about.

I made the reservations over the phone. The lady who helped me was very informative. We arrived at the hotel after a 7 hour trip. The front desk was friendly and helpful. Our room was ready, charming, clean and comfortable. The room even had a pretty little private patio in the back. We enjoyed the pool and the jacuzzi and walked across the little road to the beach to watch the sunset. There were seals on rocks just a few feet away. The next morning we enjoyed the deluxe continental breakfast. We then went for another walk on the beach. Their are tidepools with all kinds of crabs. We had a wonderful time and I can't wait to return. Did I mention the fireplace in the room.

Good location, friendly staff and very clean. We had problems with internet. It was very slow and impossible to use.
