Very lovely hotel. Would definitely stay there again. The staff was very helpful in finding good local food and good visitor spots. Highly recomend.

Good hotel for a few nights to stay in San Fransisco. Staff is very friendly and we ate good food in the restaurant. Chambers are clean but basic. We didn't expect more because we've visited so much during the day. I don't like carpet on the floor, but that's a personal opinion offcourse. Very nice that we could take our rental bikes with us in the room! I sent an email a few weeks before our arrival to ask about the bike possibilities and they give me enough information!

The hotel really was fine, it's just in a really rough part of town. But if you're with a group of people you're probably fine. One nice thing to note, the swimming pool was heated and felt great.

The hotel is in principle not bad. Clean and attractively designed, it is located in a non-inviting Area. It's no fun to go between junkies and dubious characters Dortbzum Hotel. Even if the rooms O. K. There is also a lack of privacy, because the rooms all look into the interior of the building and without curtains all pass by see what one does. It will not be my hotel of choice on my next stay.

Once you enter the lobby you are transported to a world away from the chaos of The City. The always gracious staff are genuinely glad you are there and it shows in their smiles. Upon registering and headed up to the rooms, you'll find an unexpected oasis complete with palm trees. The rooms are done in a mod-60's style that is clean and inviting without being kitschy. Many rooms are awash in light from the center-facing full-wall windows (that remind me of fishbowls). But, to my comfort, there are corner units that are the cat's meow for privacy seekers like myself. I got to be a guest for 10 days and appreciated the Americania's staff — lead by a very nice day manager (Charlie? ). As one who has stayed in a few SF hotels, I definitely recommend this one and know your stay will be just as enjoyable.

The hotel, well how should I say to evaluate it anyway friendly? Don't go!
Found a used condom next to the Bed. Also the bed linen was very dirty. The room is located in the outer area of the hotel and due to rain and storm the rooms are humid and smelly bestial. The staff was not competent at check in or at check Out.
It would not apologize for the circumstances, nor was there a discount. On the contrary, after I said that I would not continue to sleep in this room, I was offered the check out with a much higher price than I booked the room.

The hotel was within walking distance of the Moscone center, although it was through a sketchy part of San Francisco (not the worst part, though). The hotel itself was nice with great sheets and towels, and the rooms were small for our needs but fine for a group of 4 or 5. Service was good even at odd times in the night.

Rooms are small, but decently furnished. The modern decor takes a little to get used to, but fits the quirky overall style of the hotel. Each room has a safe, TV, and hairdryer. As well as the hotel itself has a pool, gym, and vending machine. A major downside is just the location of the hotel. Big homeless population, and unfortunately there's a lot of human waste and litter surrounding the area. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. For price and availability (I literally booked the day before) the value is justifiable.

Great hotel in my experience. Clean room, well maintained. Great housekeeping, attention to details, very clean every day. Friendly front staff. The swimming pool is crystal clear, well maintained and is nicely heated — greatly enjoyed swimming in it in February after a full work day on my feet. Located in a decent area of SF, and is a walking distance to Moscone Center and downtown. Awesome coffee shop one street over (Saint Frank coffee). Will stay again and recommend to anyone.

Open courtyard style, so all hallways on upper floors look down onto courtyard. We had four rooms here. The front desk staff was super courteous, regardless of which shift we encountered. They were helpful with maps, menus, side trip ideas, and safety concerns regarding where and when to walk around. The dining room and bar have a pleasant, ecclectic vibe. Dinner was simple and tasty, and our drinks were well-made. Didn't taste like "hotel food", thank goodness. Breakfast is not complimentary, but was amazing. Coffee was heavenly. Restaurant staff was ever so attentive and my 4 year old nephew was quite content with his meal. The outdoor pool is immaculate. Exercise room was clean. We didn't have a fridge in the room, which would have been convenient, but otherwise, this was a great experience for a hotel, and we will definitely return.

Make sure the TV is operating correctly. Bring your own extension cord if you bring electronics. Great pool. Strong shower water but small bathroom. Would only come back on a deal.

It was so noisy all night long and sounded like it was right outside our door. We were in SF as a family to see a show. The manager was very genuinely apologetic and said he talked to the rowdy crowd. Did see a few reviews that mentioned it being loud but thought that was an isolated experience. Room smelled a little stale. There are a lot of homeless close by but we kind of expect that in SF in various areas. The valet attendants were very nice and so were the front desk staff. It did the job for our family of 5 but might not be my first choice in the future. Wondering if it attracts more of a "party" crowd. It's hard to have it quiet with the way the rooms are set up. Felt like we heard everyone coming and going and loud at all hours of the night.

1) Worst sleep of my life! In a suite, I get to choose between sleeping next to the noisy street or next to a noisy atrium that echoes every sound. From drunks, to kids running around, to slammed doors, and loud conversations, etc. 2) No fridge in room even tho it was written on our reservation information. 3) After driving for 4+ hours, we arrived and waited for more than 20 minutes outside our room while Marissa ‘the new employee’ kept running around to figure out things. Unprofessional! Her hospitality skills were not that great either. She walked away from my mom when conversing, no eye contact, and not many replies as if she’s just numb to guests’ existence. 4) The decor is ‘retro’ and not in a good way at all. It’s like they picked this style purposely so they wouldn’t have to put in any effort. 5) “our parking lot and guests’ cars have been broken into many times in the past. ” — Vince the valet attendant 6) Bad location and we did not feel safe.

It's fine for the price. Surrounding area is not really accommodating if you're not used to a bigger city but if you are you'll have no problems navigating by foot. Otherwise, Uber is your friend. Hotel itself was great. Especially the staff. Super friendly.

Good decoration and details of passenger care. We loved it like all of San Francisco.

I liked the room. But hated the fact there is no AC unit on it. You need to request a portable one that will turn off all your light switches. The area around is really bad. (Don't go out at night time). The staff is good and friendly. The best thing about this hotel, was the warm water pool. Woow loved that, the rest was ok.

Great place! The room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. All of the food at the restaurant was delicious and all of the staff was really friendly. All of the housekeeping staff greeted with a big smile and a good morning. Location is also just a 10 minutes walk from downtown which is great. Would definitely stay here again!

Great rooms, very clean and comfortable location. No air-conditioning in the rooms. Would never stay here again. Its 2017, this is just evil… so hot in the rooms. Other than this, it's a pretty nice hotel. Again, sooooo hot here at night.

The area that this hotel is located in is filled with vagrants. Please be aware of this if you plan to walk around in the area. Do not visit the hotel if the temp will be above 70 degrees. The hotel is not equipped for AC. The Staff is very pleasant and is as helpful as possible.

Our power went out many times each night. We were promised to get a new room and never moved to a new room. We were told for 3 days that the manager would call us but never did. On our last night the power went out 8 times in less than 2 hours. We were advised not to use our air conditioning & given fans. Totally unacceptable. The service is terrible & nothing is done to compensate for lack of power. Our I was hung up on when I called the front desk to complain that the power went out again. The hotel is in a horrible, dangerous location — I would not recommend to anyone.

Very good location in San Francisco! The breakfast was very good. Rooms are small, weather always nice.

Have booked this hotel for a city break based on a recommendation from our travel agent.
The hotel is conveniently located to the city centre. Union Square and CableCar stop are about a 15-minute walk away. Be sure to buy the combined ticket from the transport company MUNI. Included here are cablecars, historic trams and buses.
When booking at the hotel, be sure to book a room on the top floor. The hotel was built entirely of wood and so you can hear every step of the way very loudly. Cleanliness and room size were ok.
In the house there is also a bar and a restaurant, which we did not use. There is a small gym and an outdoor pool.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is also an underground car park — but this is subject to a charge.

All O. K. But when I was there it was partly very noisy and the rooms could have been a bit cleaner. All in all, but all right!

Stayed here for 2 days. You have to go up 2 flights of stairs to reach the hotel desk and rooms. Rooms are nice. There is no airconditioning but you may just open the windows for cool SanFo air to come in. Free coffee and biscuits across the hotel desk clerk. Low room rates so it is quite a bargain. Just avoid the homeless people who seem to converge on the street down below. They won't harm you though.

Bed Bugs. Its a shame that someone posted 4 months ago that they have a bed bug problem and here I am getting eaten alive by them. Blood on sheets, dirty ass room. No working sink. No bathroom in rooms, then the one bathroom is absolutely disgusting. And once again, freaking bed bugs.

Ate breakfast here March 1 for breakfast and it was fabulous! It was a girl's weekend and we were not interested in the cafe quickie meal. So we came in literally off the street. The bagels and lox were sooooooooo good. Our servers were awesomeness. They even brought a breakfast bday cake for our friend.

I do like the management. Mr Katan is nice. … keep up the good job mr. Katan.

Short version — I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere for accomodations. Basis for my opinion I booked a room at "best hotel" online, I read a couple of bad reviews but liked the rates and hoped the other reviewers were being dramatic. I was completely wrong. Here is my story of the best hotel — bh — I arrived after midnight with my bags. The neighbourhood looked pretty rough, but I wasn't expecting much. I had to wake up a homeless man who was sleeping in front of the door so I could enter the hotel. I checked in with a very nice lady through 1" plexiglass and a heavy locked door. I had to pay for, after arguing only a portion, of my 4 week stay up front. Retrospectively I should have seen this as an indication that people deciding not to stay there after they see the rooms was common. The hotel smelled fairly strongly of urine and marijuana. The room smelled similarly. The door was the type you'd find inside a private dwelling, the kind you can't slam because it's too light and flimsy so the air stops it. I did not feel the door was secure enough to keep my valuables safe should one of the homeless people in the stairwell wanted into my room. The window was open to a roof top that, if you knew about it, would grant you easy access to the room. I shut it but the lock wasnt functioning. The room had all the basics and I think they all worked. Good Wi-Fi, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. They weren't clean but they were there.

0/10 Unless you like drugs.

WORST HOTEL IN AMERICA, we were only there ten minutes and we saw a man pick locking rooms inside the hotel and a man was shot 5 times right outside. VERY POOR SERVICE manager was very rude they do not refund money so dont even bother.

Don't go here. Let me explain: First of all it's in the very bad neighborhood of San Francisco — A man was killed while I was here. Secondly, they have bed bugs and the service is poor. Don't be fooled by their low price — there is a reason! After one night out of seven I have decided to move out and find something else — the owner doesn't want to refund anything.

TERRIBLE PLACE with mean homeless people doing drugs on doorstep that screamed at us to get lost. Had to literally push door open past them to get in. Staff speak poor English and they would not refund money so we could stay somewhere safer where we could actually get into a hotel without confrontation. Worst place I have ever been. Plus rooms are filthy. Doesn't even deserve one star but I was obligated to put it there so I could post. Also he said $40/night, they charged us $40/each person per night. Guy at desk said not his problem and to read reviews. do not book here-unclean, unsafe, unfriendly.
