Best value in the east bay! Wonderful old school hotel, nice rooms heated pool and just across the estuary from downtown Oakland. Defy anyone to find better for less! I shall return!

I would of gave this place a five but the only reason why I gave it 4 stars is to good customer service I normally come twice a month for Business eventually I cut it down to one! This place can do way better, I don’t think it’s any of the staffs including the managements fault, corporate needs to get involved and start fixing things around the hotel like internet Wi-Fi service or sliding doors to balcony change the door locks take the carpets out of the old rooms I been come here for 9 years it brakes me to see this once was a beautiful place falling apart. The manager Mia is so sweet very professional determine and knowledgeable when it comes to dealing with rude customers I’ve seen her handle tough situations in front of a crowd last week I even seen her cleaning the pool area and organizing things which I know was not her job kudos to you and your awesome font desk Monica I’ll be back. Sad you can only hide so much with paint. Door locks. Keep you locked out of your room. This place is a demo with fresh paint.

Great value and peaceful location. It's an older building that has been partially updated but there are some rough spots. That said, you won't find a better price for a place that has a great view, easy parking, nice pool and friendly staff. I had a balcony room which I recommend, view is of the Oakland yacht club Marina with distant colliseum and highway but no noise except the occasional passing airplane. Alameda is definitely an up and coming area with a lot already going for it.

Do not stay here. This place is so disgusting! Came in to a “cleaned room” to find dirty towels, a clogged sink, and a clogged shower. There was a spider on the bed.

I had an okay stay here. The rooms are nice with good amenities. I will note that the internet was unreliable at best, and the key cards didn't work on the first try. Thick walls mean you don't hear the neighbors much, which is a big positive.

The rooms were goregous! Our room overlooked the marina. Wished we went into the pool but the weather was a lot colder then expected. We drove up here from socal so yeah we expected it to be warmer but we were mistaken. Other then that, amazing hotel!

Nice scenic view, So peaceful and quite. The view of the Yachts and Boats and water so Beautiful and Asain Restaurant Fabulous.

It's a really nice place, but the management needs to be fired. They called the police on me for hooking up my computer to the television. I had to do work, they treated me like a terrorist.

Dont get the standard rooms, which are not updated and kind of disgusting. Get the superior rooms, which are nice. Staff are helpful. Breakfast was good: toast, pastries, cereal, hard boiled eggs, sausage and bacon.

I've had 4 rooms, 1 was hassle free, 1 had nails pointing out of the carpet and stains everywhere, and 2 others the door locks took an average of 10 minutes to get through. One room was moved because of this. No compensation was offered or given when asked for. For some reason they said they couldn't give me a receipt for the purchase amount this last time. Solid nope, not again.

I like the location. It is private and secluded, away from tge public eye. Its a subtle and quaint establishment that I would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a discrete place to stay for the night (;

I'd say the main part of my low rating is that we paid $250 for the night. Hotel rooms were scarce due to fires and evacuations throughout wine country (Oct. 2017). It's definitely an old hotel with a fresh coat of paint. It IS right on the marina and they DO have a heated pool but we were disappointed with the room. I didn't include a photo of the room because my photos were from the next morning and that wouldn't be fair to the hotel to show all the unmade beds and luggage everywhere.

Marina Village Inn is definitely the cheapest room per night you will find in Alameda considering the nice location, quiet neighborhood, and relaxed vibe. I'm a local that likes to get away from the house from time to time, and this place is my go to. Minutes away from the Marina Village shopping center. I know I'm leaving some places out but to name a few, theres a Lucky's, Wells Fargo, Mint Leaf (vietnamese), Straw Hat Pizza, tobacco store, Chinese restaurant, Subway, L&L Hawaiian, 365° Burrito, Carl's Jr. Chase Bank, Quiznos Sub, a tire shop, and Yo Sushi.

It was so disgustingly dirty! I wouldn't give it a star (but I had to leave a review). God knows what those stains on the couch were, I complained twice and the customer service is so disturbing they ignored me! Right from the entrance you can tell they don't vacuum. The walls needed a good scrubbing! Their website is complete lie! the rooms look nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, like the pictures they post online.

Loved staying here… Very quiet. Clean… Coffee… And I love their pool, warm water, clean… Will come again :)

Awful location. Dirty bedroom and bathroom. Broke lamps. Feel like everyone is lazy.

The lobby was as hot as outside, doors were open during 100 degree day. The juice from the machine was warm. The clerks were slow. The room AC blasted lots of cold air, thankfully.

Because we had a great room that was on the water's edge from our patio. And we were right next to the pool & the continental breakfast dining room. Also, we had a great time with the friend's that came over to our hotel room for visiting & pictures taken & just chatting it up & catching up from 40 year's ago. When we went to school together.

We stayed here for two nights, and couldn't wait to leave. The photos we'd seen online were so misleading. Although there is a building with updated rooms, there is also one building that has not been touched since probably the mid-90's. Beyond just being dated, the un-updated building is dirty, gross, and dilapidated. 2 of the 4 lamps didn't work, there were cracks in the sink, rotted out bathroom moulding, dirty carpet, and I'm pretty sure someone committed suicide in our shower because there were what looked like splatters of blood on the ceiling seeping back through what had been painted over. They can't help what people do in their rooms, but at the very least, use some stain blocking primer. What a nightmare. When we arrived, the lobby was dirty and in the middle of being upgraded, but that was no excuse for what looked like a puddle of juice in the middle of the floor that literally sat there for hours. I only know this because we had to go into the lobby later in the evening in order to have the front desk receptionist take us up to our room to unlock the door because their key making machine broke earlier in the day, and we weren't given a room key. Instead, we had to go to the front desk and wait to be escorted to our room every time we came back in. The only saving grace was that the water pressure in the murder shower was great.

Literally the worst. The images on their website do not match what the place actually looks like. Our room had an iron but no ironing board. When I asked for one they said they were out… seriously? Also, when we went, the pool had been closed by the health department for low chlorine and risk of disease. I highly recommend going elsewhere.

Everything on line looked so nice even though I knew it was an older hotel. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful and when I got to my room it looked just as it did in the images on line. My disappointment came when I realized how dirty the room was. I actually think they wiped down the bathroom, but did not clean it. They did not add towels so I was left with "one"… That was it. There was hair in the sink and the shelf and counters had fresh soap sum on them. I also tied contacting the hotel management via email to notify them of the problem. Unfortunately, I have yet to hear back from them. As cute as the hotel is I would not recommend staying here.

Excellent guest service representatives. Free hot breakfast. Great location. Clean rooms. Ample parking. Good price. There's a pool. Quiet area.

At 54 yrs of age I have stayed in many hotels — both expensive and cheap and I have to say the $40 a night motel I stayed in just 2 yrs ago was cleaner, and the staff more polite than this dump. Believe me if we hadn't been staying there for free we would have left — it was THAT bad. And we astuallytrie to find a hotel in the area that wasn't booked up — no luck due to SuperBowl.

This place is so dirty and disgusting. Stains in the sheets, pubic hairs and long strands of hairs embedded in the blankets and sheets. Dusty sticky fixtures, lights, tables and floors. Tooth paste all over the bathroom sink cabinetry. Tape holding the drawers together and someone's razors left in the cabinet. Seems like someone actually just lives here. And it's not cleaned after. Management is rude; gave us another room but in such a way saying we can take the room or leave and not get our money back. He went on to say he didn't have to give us another room. T. V barley received any channels. The ones that did were staticy and the picture was bad In addition to the terrible service by management here, dirty rooms at 8:45 this morning house keeping tries to come in our room. After I ask him to leave several times he argues saying it was time to check out… I scream get F out of my room. He leaves with my door ajar. I call the front desk, they say check out is 11. Then why are they trying to come in when obviously I have the dead bolt on and obviously still in the room asleep. We were so upset by the situation we got up and left. Upon check out the man who tried entering our room was in the courtyard with the front desk lady all smoking. The man was laughing in my face basically. Causing me to be more frantic. I have called and emailed the manger and to no avail I have not received a call back. I paid 195.00. I certainly believe I deserve a refund.

I checked in midweek in room 107. The next morning, I found a couple of red rashes around my stomach area — I didn't sleep with a shirt that night. I thought I might have been allergic to the sheets, so I took the sheets off and had them changed. The following day I woke up with welts all over my arms and legs, especially my feet and hands. I went to a doctor. As soon as the nurse walked in before I could tell her what happened, she said "Looks like you've got bedbugs. Stay in any hotels lately? " The doctor came in later to confirm her conclusion. I called and told Marina Village Inn and they said they'll check. Later he called saying, "We took video evidence and didn't find any traces under the mattress. We also use mattress lining so that they can't get on you if they do live in the mattress" All in all, they said they didn't find anything and "I must've gotten them elsewhere". However, I've slept nowhere else and did nothing different but go from there to work and back. Little do they know that bedbugs can live elsewhere often within 15ft of the bed, and traces of them are more than just the bug themselves.

WARNING! WARNING! We had so much problem with this hotel. First of all, the toilet in the room didn't work. The wireless or wired internet didnt work. But the biggest problem was the arrogant staff. Never been to a hotel this bad, and I have been to about 250 different hotels.

Too many lies about the hotel. It's nice, quiet and in a wondeful site.

WORST SERVICE I have ever come across with trying to make reservations! James the "manager/owner" basically talked me out of using his hotel for a month because as of the 26th day the taxes are "different". WHAT? I asked if he realized he was basically giving up a month of income with 5 rooms booked. He said they were "pretty much" booked up. Also it would help if you swallowed your spit before talking James. Just sayin'.

Best Hotel in Area! The map error DirtCrashr has been fixed, and the location shown on this map is correct. The customer service was quick an efficient, without too much pointless flair. This is the first hotel I've stayed in in a long time where I didn't have to yell at housekeeping to not enter my room at 7-8am. Very nice view from the room, and the room was very clean and had no trace of cigarette smoke smell. I will definitely be staying here again.

I read other people’s reviews and chose to stay there in July. The experience in the hotel was terrible, customer service was horrible. And there's no Wi-Fi signal in our room, not even in the lobby. We booked a king size room online and were given a queen size room upon arrival. The woman was cold and impatient when questioned about this, and gave us an I-DON'T-CARE look on her face. She's even reluctant to show up during conversation. The front desk phone rang several times but she wouldn't come out to pick them up, because we were in the front desk waiting for her answer. She looked at my order confirmation letter and said that the price we paid online were low, talking like she's already done us a great favor for giving us a night to stay here. But we paid for a king-size room, and had to stay in a queen-size with a feeling of humiliated. We didn't get what was promised, and obviously they don't care. The pillow was hard as stone, just like their customer service. The woman should be fired.
