Only has 1 pool for over 100 rooms. 3 sections but the pools were covered to the top with dirt and weeds. House keeping was terrible I had called and made several complaints. Ended up chancing down housing keeping to get towels and take my trash out. Receptionist were nice when we booked then became rude and snobby after. Pictures online were nice looking but was a completely different place when we got there.

Decent place for the price. I made reservations for a room with two double beds a few weeks ahead of time. Arrived to to hotel late at night and was told that there were no more rooms available with double beds. They put us in a room with a single King bed. They switched us to a room with double beds the next day. Their staff were friendly but the accommodations weren't all there. Everything was disorganized. They also ran out of clean towels for the rooms when room service came in to clean. We had to wait till they washed more towels. Not a bad experience, but definitely not the best either. They just need to set the rooms when they're reserved. And get more towels.

2 out of 5 Rooms ive stayed in were stenciled with cigarette smoke. Bed bugs in 1 room switched to another and it had black mold. Staff is decent but seem to have trouble overriding certain factors in regards to managment for that I offer a mediocre score at best for customer service. Any room outside of building 4 is a malarkey hole. However the pool is nice during summer and the common area with 4 building is contemporary and could accommodate a lovely gathering. Scenery is landscaped with luscious pal. Ms which I loved! ;)

No case to Recommend. Very dirty, everything is broken, the bathtub "dissolves", in the safe the door is missing, the air conditioning is so extremely dirty that you can not hire it, the lamps fall apart and last but not least: the staff (especially in the Restaurant) is very rude! moreover, the extremely high tip with the food and you are forced to pay it. We have been here for 2 hours and are looking for a new hotel. Absolutely not recommended!

This motel was a bit old but l loved the layout of the room. We were also close to pool and jacuzzi. They do bill your card an extra $100 when you check in, in case you eat at their restaurant and it automatically goes on your bill. They credit you if you don't. Didn't like that.

The AC in my moms room didn't work. My room had no cable. They were unable to provide a role away bed for my nephew. Plus out of the four rooms my family had not one of them had a "Do not disturb / No housekeeping required" sign. However, the customer service was great. They did try there best to accommodate.

The room was not very clean, they had not changed the glasses, for example, and the bathroom had a lot of mold. There was also a leak in the roof of the hallway and unfortunately it was raining so water came in and the carpet was wet which will create more mold. The bathtub was in very bad condition, I could not bathe. On the good side the price was very reasonable, and the service usually has been good. I had previously stayed here and although I booked a normal room I was given a very nice suite for the same price. That room was excellent, the conditions were very different to the regular room.

It is not a luxury hotel, the rooms are medium, has pool, gym, laundry and social area… The good thing about this apart hotel is that it is close to the airport… They don't offer breakfast or anything, but they have a cafeteria and a liquor store in case the hunger or thirst is pressing… they clean the room every day… pretty quiet.

Friendly, affordable and good value for money benefit.

It's not a luxury hotel, that's a fact. But it's comfortable if what you need is just a place to sleep. The staff is very friendly, has a free and ample parking and you have the exit to the Hwy to one side. The rooms are clean, they are just very outdated. I would go back.

Poor hygiene, noisy air conditioning, bad Wi-Fi, annoying staff. For that cheap…

Old but clean. Deserves a good renovation. Staff not professional. We have what we pay because the price is at least cheap.

Dirty Bath towels, nasty bathroom, totally poor room service (towels forgotten, shower curtain not hung, etc. ). Absolutely not recommended!

The rooms are somewhat spacious. I got a double bed. The hotel grounds are quiet and well kept. The service was great and extremely courteous. I would definitely stay here again.

I dont understand the bad reviews. Sure the rooms are worn, outdated and smelly, sure the TV is antiquated and has very few chanels, but it is to be expected at this price. Moreover, this place has a lot going for it: it is conveniently located from all the good spots in town, the staff are VERY friendly and it has a nice charming sort of patio area and a clean pool.

This is a horrible place! No microwave! Bathrooms are gross. Toilets don't work! TV is crappy and old horrible phone reception! Staff unfriendly. Don't stay here! I regret staying here! I have to find another place we are military and moving so I have to live in a hotel and tomorrow I will be moving some where else!

The service from the personal was satisfactory but the rooms THE ROOMS! ive stayed at cheap TJ motels better than this the rooms where horrible mold on the walls half the wall outlets dont work the shower didn't plug he can't take a bath the walls need patching the whole room needed to be repainted no cable and 1990s TVs and if you do decide to stay do it in daytime because the light switch doesn't turn on anything and all the lamps were unplugged when I got there summary worst stay ever.

If I could rate this hotel any lower I would. I'll start off by when we arrived. We were never greeted at the entrance nor eye contact was made until we stood in front of them. They didn't ask us how our day/night was, nothing, no small talk whatsoever. They were actually rude when asked questions about the hotel. We were given our key and sent off to our room. The room looked as if it was on it's last leg. We found a spider on the wall and a blood stain on the pillow. The bathroom looked terrible, spotting's of different colored paintings, chipped tiles, the door had chips and the bathtub was just about on it's last leg as well. We stayed as we arrived late and were not familiar with the area. When I checked out I wasn't greeted yet again nor asked how my stay was. Had she asked me I would have very well told her my experience, however, their customer service is so bad that they want to check you in and out as soon as possible. I wouldn't recommend this "resort" nor rate it a two star hotel. You're better paying extra to sleep comfortable elsewhere.

I'd been here before, knew about the age of the property and its limitations. Yet I received more than I expected from the front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, the Valley Kitchen Restaurant and the well-stocked convenience store, so I'm balancing out at least one hater with star generosity :-) I'm a San Diego native, and this continues to be my best bet when visiting town by myself. Location! Plus, the bus takes you to the Old Town trolley station. If something is wrong with your room, a kindly worded request to the hard-working front desk will get you amazing results. Peace!

This was likely a really nice "resort" 40 years ago but I don't think they've fixed, replaced, or upgraded a single thing since then. For example, they gym is spacious and has several decent machines (no free weights) but the a/c has been broken probably for years. They haven't even bothered to put in a fan or something. They said, "oh just open the door and let some air in. " It was unseasonably hot and humid during our visit, so I made it about 10 minutes before I left and finished my workout in my room. In our room, electrical outlets either didn't work or were hanging loose from the wall. The bathtub drained super slowly. The carpeting was ripped. The smell everywhere including the lobby was just musty and gross. The location is great and the beds are comfortable. But they're double beds, not even queens. There's a reason it is the cheapest place on Hotel Circle. Not recommended unless you really just don't care about aesthetics and just need a place to crash. Otherwise spend an extra $20 a night and choose one of the other Hotel Circle options.

Seriously wish I would have listened to all the negative reviews on here! Front desk employees the worst, and room service, is s**t one to two knocks and they just barge in don't even listen to a "one moment please. " asked for full service left the room came back and all we had were clean towels, no soaps, beds weren't changed and im not the type to have them work everyday that im there if its not needed, the room was obviously vacuumed because I didn't realize the refrigerator was unplugged until I opened it to get my baby his milk! But of course anything in there that was perishable wasn't there problem or replaced, Seriously, I've had a way better experience at non expensive hotels/ motels I can go on really. Over all I do not recommend this place.

DO NOT STAY HERE! We've had our share of bad experiences but this one takes the cake. Desperately in need of renovation. It should be a crime that they charge as much as they do per night. It's so bad that I wouldn't stay again even if the room was comp'd. Keep searching, or sleep in your car. You'd be better off!

Good service, good food. The lady was friendly and honest, as we placed an order she smiled and suggested the best of the menu. My patty melt burger was great tasting and loved it's pure beef meat flavoring and quality, I will suggest friends and relatives to this restaurant.

Rooms smell like ass and feet! Rooms are old and outdated smell like ass and stinky feet, also a weird musty unfamiliar smell that can't be identified. Carpets are old and so filthy I wouldn't let my dog walk on it, I had to wear flip flops the entire time because if I didn't my feet felt so dirty like it had a layer of muck on them. You can tell by looking at the carpet it has not ever been shampooed but at this point it's probably best to strip it and replace it. The ac unit looked like it was from the 70's and was hanging off the wall and coming off, the walls are dirty and stained as well. My bed spread and pillows were stained and looked like they needed to be washed. We used disinfectant spray and sprayed the room but the spray couldn't get rid of the smelliness but at least it killed any lingering bacteria. The furniture also outdated and the TV looked like my old TV from the 90's when I was in college with only a few channels. We tried to get another room but it was the same and just as bad. Take it from all these bad reviews they speak the truth and stay somewhere else where they value cleanliness.

This was a crappy room we reserved, we got to our room and it was very musty the walls and bathroom were dirty. The toilet seat was broken. We wanted another room it was just as bad. We brought disinfectant and sprayed the whole room and pillows. The pillows still smelled like sweaty head. So if your going to stay here good luck it's old and smelly and damp. The carpet is muggy. We seen spiders and they do not vacuum. There is no refrigerator or microwave in these rooms at all. Very stale! I found a phone charger when I pulled out the nightstand and seen the rug dusty and hairy. So don't stay here! Be warned the room is gross and old. Simple as that and they dont keep the rooms clean.

Overall ghetto. Room was musty an out dated! Grounds were not kept up parking sucked, TV channels came in blurry. They put a 99 dollar hold on my card then charged me $50.51 for no reason which I had to go through bank to get back. The bed was comfortable and the shower had hot water other than that by far the worst hotel ive ever stayed at and that says a lot.

Let's just say you get what you pay for. Dirty room, out dated furniture, etc. First thing I noticed was a stained bed spread (yuck)! House maids Need to learn how too clean. Also notiCed a bunch of crack heads out in the parking lot. Very unsafe.

The absolute worst. To say this place is a rat's nest is an insult to rodents everywhere. Outdated, dirty walls, fixtures from the 1980's and to top it off someone's underwear hanging in the bathroom. Left as soon as I could. Would give it a negative 5 if I could.

I honestly cannot give much negative feedback on this place. Yes, the room was a bit small, and there was a dirty comb in the bathroom, but that was it. Bed was extremely comfortable, maybe because of a long day out. Everything in the bathroom worked fine. Wife and I tried out the restaurant that's attached to the resort. We went late at night, I can only imagine it was a long day for the employees too, I went in not expecting much due to the reviews on here, we got the California burger and mozzarella sticks for appetizers, and wow. In all honesty, it was delicious. Meat was cooked well, mozzarella sticks were amazing. All in all, I would come back to this place.

Please disregard the 3.2 starts. Google needs to fix this! Mission Valley Resort is comprised of a hotel, restaurant, bar, and a mini-mart. The positive reviews come from the restaurant/bar. The negative reviews come from the actual hotel/resort. The morning/afternoon staff is very friendly and the pool is nice. The rooms are at the end of their lifespan and after speaking with the manager, they are just trying to hold out until the end of this year to remodel. That being said, this is not a place to take your wife or girl on a vacation~ I felt horrible as a man/husband for providing a place where the shower won't work, bed springs are shot, sink faucet doesn't work, fungus/mildew around the seals of the tub, phone disconnected, etc. Spend the extra $10/night and go elsewhere.

Avoid at all costs! Sleep in your car if you must! Our room had no towels, tiny beds, dirty sheets, and no lock on the door! We had to go to the lobby to get towels. The restaurant will make you sick. For what these people charge they should be locked up in a federal prison.

Dirty room. Someone trird to break in my car. No towels in the room. Fuzzy cable. Dirty room. (dirty enough to mention twice).

Not everything in San Diego is beautiful. Should be $30 a night. This place is far from a resort. The first thing we noticed was the bathroom. The tiles where chipped and cracked. The plug for the sink was rusted and just sitting there at the bottom like it was broken. The tub was the worst. Stained brown and yellow. In the room the remote want connected to the TV. Summer lights did not work. There are some things that were positive about this place. They had two beds in here which were much needed after a 10 hour drive. We are checking out this morning and going somewhere else to finish our stay in San Diego. Sorry, Mission Valley Resort. Improve the place and maybe you'll get better reviews.

Horrible room wasn't cleaned items from previous guest was in room employees where very rude and room service don't deliver to your room and will let your food sit in the restaurant and not keep warm very horrifying experience the housekeeper didn't change the bed she just made the bed with the dirty sheets and blankets very bad wouldn't ever come back EVER.

Learn the definition of "Resort" Calling this MOTEL a "resort" is like polishing a turd. The positives are that the front desk clerk was very nice and we were able to park the car right outside the door. The negatives are the tiny, old dirty room was nothing as portrayed on the website, the room amenities are from 1982, and the whole place just feels like a Motel 6. I guess there is a reason this room rate was $50 less than everywhere else. Next time, I'll budget the extra money and stay at the DoubleTree on Hazard.

I came here with my father and brother for a sporting event in SD. The room is small and dirty, but it worked for us for one night. The staff was super nice and responsive when we called about a burned out lightbulb. Here's the real deal about this place: if you need a place to party the night before a Chargers game and there are no women with you (or super prissy guys), this place will work for you. There is a liquor store literally attached to the main hotel building, so that was a mega bonus for us! There is also a small bar and a full restaurant here as well. Repeat, this place is old and dirty, but if you are not picky, it is OK.
