Great place to stay for meetings at Naval Base 32nd or at Coronado.

This hotel is AWFUL. A/C doesn’t work in any room. Noisy. Uncooperative staff. Breakfast was a joke. Eggs were cold, bacon was terrible (how could bacon be terrible)? Well, they managed it. No bagels, asked for them twice and said they were out at 10:00 am. How? Nobody was in the restaurant. $17 per plate. A joke. All they offered — $7 — maybe. Our friends room had same a/c issues, sink wouldn’t drain, floor was sticky. Absolutely awful. Never stay here — ever! Plus the room rate reflects a 5 star hotel, no about a 1 star hotel. Stay away! Very disappointed in Marriott.

Beautiful, well appointed, and very clean room. Friendly staff. Highly recommend the jacuzzi suite. Only two things to nitpick: The stairs all the signage recommend we use need cleaning and $5 for a bottle of Arrowhead water in the room? One would think $400 a night could include a few 25 cent bottles of water. Also, the staff could offer to deliver food guests order from elsewhere to the room since the hotel restaurant is closed.

Great area, within walking distance of so many cool places! Our room was a little small but great views! We had a corner room so two windows.

I am sure others have had better experiences, but mine was just mediocre. The staff was really friendly. The lobby is looks really fancy and come equipped with comfortable seating, fireplace and a bar. There is not a better location for those wishing to experience San Diego nightlife in the Gaslamp district. Unfortunately, the fanciness stopped in the lobby. My bathroom was not the greatest and including a semi clean shower and totally disgusting air vent right above the tub. I also didn't enjoy taking a shower and a bath at the same time due to the appalling drainage. Terrible TV channel options. The air conditioning was located in the wall right next to my face. Needless to say, I stayed woke. When the air conditioner wasn't keeping me awake, I knew I could always count on the tram crossing. As if that wasn't enough, I was even kept awake by the countdown on the pedestrian crosswalk. At least the Wifi was free.

We stayed at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter for a weekend. The hotel is in an excellent location — right next to the convention center and the Gaslamp Quarter. The staff was incredibly helpful and responsive. Our room was well styled and had one of the biggest TVs I've seen in a hotel.

The rooms are nice, and the hotel is located at gaslamp quarter right across from the convention center. The hotel is pet friendly, as I could unfortunately tell by the smell of my room. Not a huge issue, it was otherwise a good stay.

I didn't stay here overnight — was just there for a work meeting. But was impressed with how pet-friendly it was. They had doggy water bowls set up and a welcome sign for VIPooches. Adorable!

I only really come here when Comic-Con is in town. When I'm here it is so crowded and the party is jumping! there are so many people around and their Cuts up in their favorite superhero costume. Every restaurant and store has their own theme. Video game companies and movie companies rent out the stores and give out free food, free shirts, and free booze. It's always fun to see people dressed up having fun here in Gaslamp. Traffic is bad mainly due to the large crowds so it's best to avoid driving here. Try to Uber or lift. I highly recommend anyone to come here and enjoy, Con in Gaslamp!

The experience was quite good. Room was clean. Check-in and Check-out were painless. Decent bar, reception area. We did get a bit mixed-up between this hotel and another Westin 3 blocks down the same main street. That one is a little closer to the Gaslamp, if that's in your plans.

Terrific location. Super convenient to everything the Gaslamp Quarter has to offer (including Petco Park) as well as the convention center (and the Marriott Marquis and Grand Hyatt, which house larger conventions as well). The ballpark is 2 blocks away. Stayed in one of the lofts. It's a bit weird getting to the room (up one level, across a patio to another building, up another elevator). Room was really spacious with a high ceiling. Had a private balcony accessed through the bathroom. Room service breakfast was fast and tasty. I was a little surprised to see the tray for room service still outside in the hallway at 8pm that night. I had also requested shaving cream to be in the room on arrival and that never happened. I didn't make a big deal out of it but why offer those things in the app if you can't deliver? The elevator wasn't working one time as well which wasn't a huge deal but would've been had I encountered that issue with my luggage. I'd stay here again and would recommend it, but there were a few minor annoyances that kept it from getting 5 stars from me. San Diego is beautiful and this is a very convenient place to stay, especially now with all of the ride share bikes and scooters around.

Great location in the gas lamp district and excellent staff that will go above and beyond. Rooms are well appointed, bar and restaurant available in the lobby. There's also a business center for web searches and printing when needed. No free parking but valet is available for $50/night. There's a 24 hour convenience store across the street for everything from a six pack to a sandwich if you're not feeling room service or the plentiful restaurants around.

Cleanliness and service are good, you can help call a taxi, if you want to go to the airport in the middle of the night can tell the counter staff in advance, but there is no hot pot, can only tap hot water or use coffee machine to boil hot water. It is important to note that there is also a Hilton across the street, everyone in the booking time to confirm which one they live in, we went to check in only to find the wrong place to run.

I haven't stayed here but I had to go to an event at the Convention Center and then dinner at the Gaslamp. Valet parking was only $15 from about 2:30pm till 2am which is a great price considering how much all the lots and garages charge. Definitely would park with the Hilton again.

Fun area, staff was quick enough and friendly. Was a little irritated that we were waiting in line to check out while a manager was standing behind the line not assisting. Room was clean and large. Big TV.

Me and my wife always stay down here on date night and our service is outstanding. Only thing I would recommend is maybe adding a Jacuzzi (Only hotel I have been at that does not on site have with their pool). Also, if you are offered suite RM 1012. Dont not take it. Unless you don't mind your view being a roof top with some crane on it and nothing else out your window out your window to look it. Also, being a HHonor Diamond Member, I feel I shouldn't have to pay additional $10 for a hot breakfast. I pay enough money with all my stays at least I should be able to get is a complimentary hit breakfast.

Nostalgic. Beautiful. Walking distance. Hotels can be pricey, but worth it! And here's why; Gas lamp has everything! Baseball stadium, bars, restaurant's, sights, rickshaws! All within walking distance for the most part. There is even water taxi's, and close to Coronado! There is an old battleship museum, and of course SeaWorld is around the corner! Parking however, sucks! Expensive, even at the hotel your staying at!

Great location in the Gaslamp district, in the middle of it all. It's only a short walk to many bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and Petco Park. This hotel still looks brand new in the lobby and guest rooms. Upper floors are preferable here with semi-ocean views, some with French balconies, and the suites with full sized balconies. The restaurant is the down side here, especially for gold/diamond members. One would think that a namesake Hilton property would treat its most loyal members better. The continental breakfast ($10 up charge for hot food is optional) is a downright disappointment. There is no lounge or other special amenities, besides a small pool. Hilton needs to up the game in offering more for its honors program.

This is a nice hotel right next to the Petco park in the Gaslamp district its so close to all the night life and right down the street from the Midway aircraft carrier museum an. I generally stay at the Holiday Inn but the company was paying and they always stay at the Hilton. Personally I think the Holiday Inn hotels are for the most part as nice as the Hilton chain. My company asked me to come down a day early to meet with a customer but the Hilton was booked solid so I went 10 minutes away and stayed at the Holiday Inn for the night in a nice King bed. The room was just as good as the Hilton, $60 bucks cheaper, and the parking was free. The Hilton charged $45.00 a day for valet with no other on site option. FYI at $45 a day it cuts into the valets tips. I returned to the Hilton the next day checked in and I got a room with two twin beds no king rooms available… well, for me, my co worker who checked in next in line behind me got a better room than I did. Don't get me wrong this place is very nice and staff was helpful and friendly the stay and our convention was great. I do like the lay out of this place and its central location to many fun things to do and great places to eat.

Excellent Location and rooms also clean. Please Ensure to check your bill during checkout. In my case Even if I didn’t use valet parking they charged for it. Thank god I check my receipt in the email and called them for correction. Made me little nervous otherwise stay was good.

Always a great place to stay in downtown San Diego. Outstanding service, good amenities, and a near-perfect location close to the Gaslamp Quarter, Convention Center, and Harbor. Less than a block from the trolley stop. The lobby is a wonderful spot to relax, and breakfast is top-notch. The rooms can be a bit snall, and train noise on the lower floors can be a distraction, so stay on an upper floor if you are bothered by such things. This is the best option for staying downtown in my opinion.

Great location, modern and clean hotel. Smaller and more relaxed than the much bigger Bayfront Hilton. May be the most comfortable bed in SD. Walking distance to everything, only major pitfall is required Valet parking costs $49. Free Parking Tip: If you drive a block or two north and west, you'll find meter spots that don't start until 8a or even a bunch that start at 10a.

The room was recently redone and clean. Great location. Standard bathroom with nice Peter Thomas Roth toiletries and the shower had great hot water and great pressure. Really enjoyed the view out the window of trains going by and the park that people would take their dogs to. Only stayed one night, but would return in the future.

A good stay. Everyone was polite and helpful. Corner Room was a very good size. Air conditioning was a little poor taking all day to cool the baking room to a cool temperature. Nice to have a pool to relax in. Easy to get to the transit (2 minute walk to the station) Can be a little noisy at night when the freight trains roll by!

Best Hotel in the Gaslight for the ptice hands down. Liquor store across the street. Located at the beginning of the strip. Directly across from the convention center, where there are spectacular views at sunset. Everything is within walking distance. Trains are a little noisy but still worth it.

Overall a good stay at this hotel. Notably, the second floor is rather noisy, especially room 224. However, hotel staff were helpful in getting me a new room, which was quieter and perfectly fine. Great location near conference hotel and places to eat. Reasonable rate for the stay. Overall recommended.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel. Firstly, my flight arrived super early and I got to the hotel around 9:00 AM — because they had a room available, they had no problem letting me check in early (mind you, check in isn't until 3PM typically). On the 2nd day, my key didn't work because I think I'd had it around my cell phone all day, and they were able to quickly give me a new key and even took the liberty of sending someone up from engineering to make sure my unlock mechanism on the door didn't have a low battery. All of this coupled with the fact that every employee of this hotel are just the nicest human beings I've ever met — and it all makes for an awesome hotel experience. They even checked in with me multiple times via text (hello convenience) to make sure I was comfortable and enjoying my stay. It's located in the heart of the Gaslamp, so you're within walking distance of all of the amazing areas of downtown San Diego. I will absolutely be staying here again, and highly recommend it to anybody visiting the area.

This hotel is located right at the entrance to the Gaslamp Quarter. Lots of food options around (including one in the hotel) and everything is in walking distance. The San Diego Convention Center is directly across the street and is easily accessible. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well kept. The staff is courteous and ensures you have everything you need.

Great hotel. Awesome terrace with easy access to the gas lamp or convention center. Right by Lou & Mickey's… best steakhouse in the gas lamp.

Front Desk staff leave a little to be desired. What is flagged as a full blown Hilton property was acceptable. But just acceptable. There are a wide range of other hotel choices in the area.

Not that great for a Hilton hotel. Particularly for a Downtown area where all the hotels are very well maintained. Be aware of a $49 dollar parking fee per night.

Came here for my anniversary and it was great because its located in a convenient part of down town San Diego. It's clean, welcoming, and it has a nice pool area with a great view. And it has a gym and velt parking and a parking structure around the corner for those who are smart. Service is great and honestly it's my favorite hotel to stay at in this area.

The hotel is in a great location, but the rooms leave something to be desired. They are pretty old looking once inside. We spent our trip with a barely functioning air conditioner, and consequently got very uncomfortable sleep. Otherwise, the common areas of the hotel are very nice and the staff was very friendly.

Nice looking hotel. A bit frustrated by the check-in process. Checked in online and pick our room. When we arrived the room we chose was not ready. No problem we said, text us in an hour when room is ready. Upon returning to the hotel the room we requested, pre-checked in and waited for was not given to us because the "previous occupant" decided to stay… why bother to check-in on-line and wait for room to be ready waste of time, we are silver members didn't even get a bottle of water. Not a great start to our special weekend get away.

They double charged our room after checkout. The front desk staff was either hostile, indifferent or incompetent whenever we interacted with them, never friendly or helpful. Didn't have rooms cleaned until after 4pm each day. The beds were nice and comfortable and location was great, the only good things about this place.

Went here during Comic Con, Great facility with lots of space. Had a blast playing in a tournament here. Good for conferences and such.

Compared to the other hotels in the area, the Hilton Gaslamp is an oasis of calm, perfect for the business traveler who needs peace when away from hustle and bustle. Nice amenities, modern rooms, comfortable beds. Recommended stay if you're at the convention center for shows or conferences.

This hotel was Ok. The room wasn't entirely clean (black marks on the ceiling from a shoe? Orangish stain in the tile grout on the bathroom floor near the commode, stains on towels, dusty entertainment center, house keeping didn't come on day one, but came when called on day 2). The pool is small, but nice and it is heated, no hot tub (can go next door to hard rock & use theirs) the gym is small, but clean and fully stocked with new equipment, we were Given code for free Wi-Fi, the room and bathroom were decent size, room service was modest but decent and reasonably priced, Located right across from the convention center and extremely close — walking distance to lots of attractions like Sea Port Village, Children's Museum cool parks, Chinese Museum, etc. The staff are very pleasant and professional.

If noise bothers you, do not book this hotel. The very busy train tracks are right next to the hotel. I tried to take a nap in my room and a freight train literally shook our room on the 8th floor. Then, the little trains make a honking noise every time they leave the station that was directly next to the hotel. I had to check out and go to a different hotel. The staff was very nice and offered to change our room, but they didn't have a "view" room available in a quieter location. I also didn't like that I could not see the water from our "view" room. I could only see the giant convention center. Beautiful hotel, but the location is a bummer.

Nice rooms and location. However, I would characterize their amenities as nickel and dime but it's more like $10's and $20's for all the normal features you'd expect as a Hilton Diamond member. No parking available — only $47/night valet option available, no executive lounge, no manager's reception, $10+tax extra if you want protein with the "free" breakfast, no complementary toiletries, no flexibility if you need to check out early. Out of about 1000 hotel stays at Hilton properties in the past decade I have never been charged an early checkout fee. Any 24hr, 48hr or 72hr notice "policy" has always been waived as a Diamond loyalty courtesy. The answer here is, "sorry, you should have told us earlier". $300 early fee at this place! Unless they correct the situation, my recommendation, find somewhere else to stay in San Diego.

I'm giving two stars because of the great location and the fact that noise from the neighboring rooms was minimal. But the room was impossible to cool and the mattress was uncomfortable. There was no soundproofing against the train right outside the window, so it woke us every night in the wee hours. There was no bathroom fan, so showers made everything in the room sticky and wet. Finally, the turndown service was so late in the day that we were usually back in the room by the time they came around. Once we elected to skip turndown, which meant we ran out of TP, kleenex, towels, coffee, coffee cups, sugar, ice bucket bags, and glasses. So the second day, we swallowed the inconvenience and simply left again to give the staff time to clean.

As good as it gets for the price. Location is great. Rooms are nice but smallish as you might expect for a "boutique y" joint. Enjoy your stay in San Diego.

The front desk staff at this Hilton were great. The reservations people, NOT SO MUCH. I was in Mexico for surgery and had no idea that I'd need to change the res. I called to change the check in day since I was still in hospital and they did it, but grudgingly. The next day, I was still in hospital and I called to cancel the remaining day. The res woman was rude and informed me that "it doesn't matter if you're a Diamond member, you'll pay for the room". I sent in a complaint to Hilton HQ and they rescinded the room fee, but no one has contacted me or apologized for being so horrible. I'll never stay at a Hilton property again — and I'm a 20+ year HHonors member. : (

Our stay at the Hilton Gaslamp was pleasant. The central location provides incredibly easy access to the Gaslamp District and the marina. The one downside to being in the Gaslamp is dealing with the "riff-raff" that may have partaken in too much the district has to offer at 2 in the morning. Overall, the location, quality of room, and service make the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter a fine home base in San Diego.

Very helpful staff. Updated and bright rooms in the Lofts. Nice common areas both inside and out. Good location for conferences or tourist stops with great rates. Exceedingly better handling fees for package receipt and pick-up than the Convention Center or Hilton Bayside.

The accommodations were very good. The distance from the convention center and good options was perfect. There was a bit of loud music coming from the hotel next door, but it was over by 6pm. Overall very pleased with the experience.

Great location for visiting the Gaslamp Quarters. Rooms were great, just had trouble with front/housekeeping to bring us fresh towels. Took them over an hour and three calls.

Friendly staff, front desk, lounge, restaurant, and their cleaning staff. Front lobby has couches and outdoor seating with fireplace, nice. Room was clean, we stayed in a suite, closet located by the front entry door, not in the bedroom that be can be an issue for some. A small fridge inside the TV cabinet, no balcony, suites has no bay view, bed was comfortable, their cooling and heating system are up to par keeps the room temperature very comfortable. The blackout curtains wr great realy does the job. We wr on the 6th floor street activities can be heard only when windows are open, quite in the evening. But I must say one early Sunday morning loud banging noise from down below sounded like a trash truck dropping the big steel trash container I couldn't see from my window but it was loud. Restaurants across the street excellent fish Tacos. Another restaurant below on the corner Toscano Cafe, good breakfast. This Hilton is in a great location, yes I will return.

Great hotel in the heart of San Diego Gaslamp District. Hotel was clean and beautiful. Staff was extremely courteous. Many restaurants and bars in walking distance. I would easily recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit San Diego. I will certainly be back.

For the price, I expected a larger room. Also, I've stayed at many Hiltons and the service is usually great, but here I was disappointed at the lack of courtesy on many occasions. They definitely need to work on their customer service. I won't be staying here again.

My stay is fantastic, I'm staying at the Hilton on 4th in the gaslamp district on the 9th floor. I'm within walking distance of all the bars and restaurants. The mall is just a few blocks down the way. The service is fantastic couldn't be happier, I Highly recommend staying here if your looking to do some bar hopping.

Great location in the Gas Lamp District. My wife really appreciated the modern decor of the room. I didn't appreciate the breakfast voucher they give you if you are an Honors member; I expected eggs for breakfast. You have to pay to have eggs. I'm fine with paying but don't make me think I'm getting them for free first.

The Wi-Fi is absolutely terrible. It takes forever to load the portal page to log in, and even when you finally log in after 10 minutes of trying, it drops out every half hour. Logging into the Hard Rock Internet across the street was faster than this "hhonors" abomination. Breakfast does not include eggs and bacon. Just Walmart pastries and some fruit and cereal. No parking. Have to use street parking. The rooms are nice though.

Excellent location for the many activities in the gaslamp district. The hotel is very nice, but not in the extremely luxuriate realm. The room was nicely furnished, but the bathroom could have stood an upgrade. The room service menu was also very limited.

Everyone was super nice and everything was very easy check in and out was fast. The room was very nice with a great bathroom mirror. The hotel is walking distance to all the bars on gas lamp but far enough away where you don't get the craziness out front. Only thing I did not like was the $45 over night parking. Most places only charge $20 other than that it's a perfect place.

It was a little pricy and the parking was ridiculously expensive but the staff was kind and the room was nice.

3 pros and 3 cons for u. The 3 pros are: great location. Great jacuzzi suite with fridge. And great staff in front desk. The 3 cons are: pool and pool area way too small. It was very expensive for what it is. And they only have valet parking at $45 per night. Bottom line is, I would stay here again only when its cheap.

If you were naive enough to get snaked in like we were then here at Hilton they're gladly shaft you for upwards of $290 a night! That fat wad of your cold hard cash guarantees you such wonderful things such as: -Dated rooms -a shower that has luke warm and scalding with no inbetween -Wi-Fi for an arse wrecking extra cost -valet parking is $45 god damn dollars, and bring your inheritance because they expect a tip And if that wasn't enough BREAKFEST ISNT INCLUDED unless you've taken and sucked enough Hilton shafts to get on their gold and diamond circle jerks. This place sells its name and nothing more.

Probably the standard for San Diego but outrageously expensive parking even if you are staying as a guest, no free Wi-Fi and yet still on the semi-pricey side. I agree with other reviews that the rooms aren't even very clean at check in. Who knows, maybe it just isn't possible to get a night in SD near downtown for less than $300.

Had a great stay this week at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp. Elise at the front desk was extremely helpful and really went out of her way to find the right room for us to stay in, while traveling with our grandson. The entire staff from the valets to the front desk to the restaurant continually works to make you feel welcome. Can't beat the location in the Gaslamp either.

Location is great, but parking at $45 is insane! I would have parked a couple blocks up to save my company a couple bucks, but there was something going on at the convention center and people where everywhere and my chances that I'd find a open lot near my was slim to none. I didn't chance it. I did get to walk around to all the near by shops and restaurants because it is dead center of the gaslamp quarter. I stayed in the Lofts and it was very noisy. I was traveling from the east coast that day, so I went to bed at 7pm and it was noisy, so ear plugs are needed, but I wear them often so I didn't mind. Breakfast was great and service was nothing but perfect. I recommend it for any kind of traveler, but just watch out for parking.

My room was explained as a new room well maintained. Guess what! I Find short curlies in the tub with light fixtures falling out! I swear the worst Hilton on this earth and I am stuck here for 3 days! I was looking for a home for 200+ days this yearr sadly I cross another off my list year this year.

Nice rooms. 3 star because the hotel charges so much for amenities. Internet and breakfast are not free and parking is 42$ a day.

This review is for the pool area, which I had access to while getting a spa service at the Artesia salon. Needs an overhaul. No ambiance and no pool bar. The Hilton Bayfront has a gorgeous pool area, so if that's something you're looking for in a downtown SD hotel stay, I recommend it! Get it together, Hilton Gaslamp.

The Jacuzzi was closed down due to a leak. NO JACUZZI! I was VERY disappointed NO ONE TOLD ME and all ads and even the Hilton room book said there is one. They need to update their material.

Having recently increased my travel to San Diego for client meetings, I decided to try the Hilton Gaslamp. During my stay I was awoken by what seemed to be ongoing construction at 1am and remained constant throughout the night. Needless to say I couldn't fall back asleep. I notified hotel management the following morning when I checked out at 6am. Front desk person stated a manager wasn't on duty and that they would follow up. Even after following up a week later, I still have not received a response. Crickets. Not sure if they have addressed the issue, but beware if you are staying there in the coming months. Worst service I have received at a Hilton property.

We always LOVE this hotel! Although it is in the middle of the very busy Gaslamp District, once in the hotel one feels quite at home in this smaller property. Staff are ALL excellent! Front desk staff are efficient, bellman very helpful, food and average folks always pleasant. The booking site we reserved our room thru had a little snafu regarding room type, but we were promptly moved to a better room with a king bed in the 5th Avenue Lofts connected to the hotel, also owned by the hotel. The room was fun, modern and felt very mod European in design. It had everything we needed. Although I paid more for this stay than I have previously, this was a last minute trip to busy San Diego. The rate was in line with the rest of the best located hotels downtown near the water so I cannot complain. I actually feel lucky that we even got a room at this late date over Valentine's Day weekend. The hotel is very near the railroad and metro tracks, so if you are a light sleeper you will want a room on the "quiet" side of the hotel. Personally, we like the trains but I can see how people who like to sleep with the windows open might not appreciate them. If you like dogs, there is a very dog friendly park area right outside of the hotel and you will be amused by the antics of the neighborhood dogs and their owners. Adds to the home feel of the hotel. As always, very happy with the Hilton Gaslamp and we will be back soon. Also.
