One of the best motels I've ever stayed at! Staff was exceptionally helpful and professional! First motel that actually had enough towells! Brought a portable crib free of charge. Room was clean and nice. Breakfast was great!

During my stay on June 17, 2018 to June 19, 2018 I was in room 156. This was a work trip. I woke up that Tuesday June 19, 2018 morning with a bed bug crawling on the sheets I slept in. As I was getting dress I notice red marks on my right forearm and up my right arm. Through out my morning I had notice more bites on my right arm. It was reported that not only I was bitten but others were as well. I was told from my colleague that the hotel had confirmed that the hotel confirmed that there were bedbugs in the room we were staying in from our boss who reported the incident. I have photos and a video with evidence of this matter and I am reporting this and will file on this issue. This hotel had a dirty bathtub, the cleaning service was horrible. I Wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all. The pool was super dirty and the gym room has unstable equipment.

Breakfast was okay. The only real reason this review isn't a 1 star No mini fridge in the hotel room. Why that is is beyond me. Staff is not very friendly. They said they would call us back to let us know when the shuttle would arrive at the airport and did not. They then proceeded to leave us on hold for 20 minutes (on purpose) after we called them back. Unacceptable. Turns out we waited 30 minutes for nothing, due to the shuttle being parked in a different spot than where we were told to wait. Shuttle driver was very nice though!

We love every la Quinta experience so far! The fact that they are pet friendly is huge, plus the hotel is so clean and appears to have been recently remodeled. Staff is among the friendliest I've ever encountered!

Hey Bryce, I'm already a guest, but no problem, you put me on hold while you check in a new guest and I will continue to listen to kids scream at the top of their lungs, because the pool is open until 10. No problem. If you have no problem paying for a hotel that sounds like a playground, by all means, please stay here. I'll find a hotel geared to respecting all guests. Not just the guests at the front desk, or screaming as they run around the pool. I feel like I'm staying in the middle of a homeless camp. And the kids are unsupervised and doing their own thing. No thank you. Reading other comments similar and seeing the management response is another reason to steer clear of this La Quinta. I have stayed at many LQ and this is the worst. Two nights of this is enough. Disappointed, and checking out a day early.

Frequently stay at La Quinta this was the worst one I've stayed at. Although the room was clean, the hot tub and pool were disgusting. The tile on the sides was black and had chunks of scum on them. Hot tub was luke warm, had scum floating in it and the water was green and smelled like a pond, not chlorine! Gross. In the morning both our key cards were deactivated, so I was woken up by my family who went to breakfast early and couldn't get back in. So much for sleeping in. Front desk could care less about my inconvenience. Had to wait in line 10 minutes to get my card reactivated. Not enough parking, I had to park on the opposite side of the property from my room. High priced for condition, service, and area. No more la quinta stays for me. Inexcusable.

The room I stayed in was smoked in, and stunk. The lobby even stank of cigarette smoke, so I didn't even want to bother finding another room or try to find another hotel that might have an opening because our flight was a late night one, and I already had reservations and there seemed to be an event going on making rooms scarce. The bed was alright, but I didn't get much good sleep because the room smelled. The service was great though, so I can't say it's super bad. I did let the front desk know of the bad smelling room. The breakfast was fine. Everything I ate was delicious. I didn't see any of the vagrants that many others have commented on. The elevator didn't work, but that wasn't a bother to me, and I can see how it would be a thing for others.

It's probably more of a three star but their pet policy is so amazing I bumped them up a star! It's super convient because it is right off of the I-5. There is light noise from the traffic but if you run your A. C. You won't even hear it. So I read in some reviews that people were scared to stay here because It was in a seedy neighborhood. It isn't in a "bad part of town". There are many hotels nearby that are decent and not sketchy at all. There are a few homeless people as you drive by but this is a big city and that is to be expected especially since there are parks nearby. If you don't want to see homeless people I would suggest you just stay away from cities. The rooms were recently renovated but not completed remodeled. The bathroom still does have a funky older hotel smell to it. However, the bed is comfy and the sheets looked and felt very clean. When I checked in the front desk personnel were very friendly and even asked what floor I wanted my room to be on. I got a great room that was perfect to take my dogs out. Overall, is this is best hotel you have stayed in? No, but for the price it isn't too bad. As I said, I would have only given it two stars but they let pets stay here for free!

The front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was nice too. It was easy to get uber there and explore the down town. It's a busy place, but the room was fine.

It's a horrible area homeless people all over, numbering 100-200. The room was good. Pool was nice as well as the breakfast. The city needs to do more for the homeless then just have police come and tell them to leave or arresting them. That is why there are so many in one area cops pushed them out of other places. Arresting them only makes them totally give up on normal life the county fines build up so high.

This place is in a shady area. Alot of the employees were great but some were not. One of the guys was very very rude because one of our dogs has 3 legs and cannot go on a leash. The other issue is my wife had her truck stolen from there at one o'clock in the afternoon and management claimed that he didn't see anything on camera because they only point to the rooms. Well her truck was in front of 2 rooms that day. We just got the feeling that he didn't want to be involved with it. Luckily we have the truck back with everything inside of it was taken. She felt upset that management didn't want to help and was more worried about us leaving in 28 days. One of the housekeepers was the only one that was helpful and I give her all stars. She is the only one that had seen her truck and gave somewhat of a description. You need to give her a raise.

Terrible. Key wouldn't work. Room reeked. Questionable people hanging out around rooms and in parking. No fridge like what was stated for the room we paid for. Jacuzzi was piss warm at best. Shower had cigarette burns around tub rim. Won't ever stay here again. I'd rather pay more to get what we actually expected and what was advertised.

Great bed and shower and mostly quiet. Extremely helpful and courteous employees. These are the most important things, right? Only real complaints are that there was not a microwave or refrigerator in my room. Since I stayed there 2 nights, it would have been good to have BOTH, especially the fridge for storing leftovers and a bottle of wine. And why not a gas fire in the fire place? I mean, why have a fireplace? Another good thing is the easy access from I-5 and the airport shuttle with the nicest driver ever. And I was able to leave my car in the parking lot for a week. In addition, the manager showed me how to install and use Uber, which was exciting and made everything so much easier. I didn't use the Spa or exercise room. Maybe next time.

It seems like this hotel is in a more questionable area of the city. We checked in at 12pm and there were some shady people around the hotel. When we entered the lobby, the person at the desk was serving another guest but as we got to the front. She did not greet me at all, looked like she was preoccupied looking outside (again shady area). The whole check in process was weird and it felt like she didn't want to really help us. At this point I instantly regretted staying at the hotel, probably should've paid more for a piece of mind. Upon looking into the rooms, they were pretty standard for the lower price point, a little more run down. When checking out the receptionist was alot more friendly, and it is the only reason this isn't a one star review. Overall, I don't think I would ever come back here even if it is the cheapest in the area.

The king size bed was very comfortable but the pillows were too small and lumpy. I could hear people walking on the cement pathway that runs in front of all the rooms. The front desk person was very friendly and efficient. The exercise room was small. Breakfast room was inviting but the food was mediocre.

Pretty good first night. Got the higher end room. The staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise. Not the Hilton but punches above it's weight.

Everything was nice, except for a few things. Check-in and check-out was smooth, staff were friendly. Breakfast could be better, but was good for what you pay to stay. There are signs everywhere that say "This is a smoke-free facility. " As fate would have it, our room reeked of cigarette smoke, like we were hit with a wall of it. If it wasn't for the fact we had lysol, we would've requested another room in a heartbeat. Those were my only complaints, other than that, great place to stay. Great for pets also.

When we arrived last night there was vomit outside our door in the parking lot and on the stairs. We told the staff about it, but it was never cleaned and was still there the next day. We had to be careful when moving out luggage out. Super gross. Otherwise, the hotel was fine. Looks like it's been recently renovated and the rooms were nice. Close to the highway, so you get a lot of truck noise at night — but it's a pretty good location. Close to the bike path and the river.

Over all the stay was fine. They did put us on the 3rd floor with 3 animals. The location isn't the best neighborhood. The first thing was when I was unpacking my car a guy walked up to me who was wearing a blanket and said he wasn't staying at the hotel but he needed to charge his phone and asked to come into our room. We traveled across country and stayed in 5 La Quinta's. This one had the worst pillows and beds.

Our stay was great. We were traveling with two dogs and had trouble finding hotels that didn't hit is with heavy pet fees. We found the price for La Quinta and couldn't believe it so we called to verify, no pet fee. The room was clean and had plenty of space for us. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. I felt very well taken care of.

This place was perfectly located right off the exit of I-5. Easy to find. It was nice inside and had everything one would need for a quick stay.

The room was clean and nice. Be careful about parking the lot was full at night. Also the breakfast was small and you had to make your own waffles.

I did not stay in a room but did happen to visit the hotel while in town for a concert. The concierge was very nice and the hotel, inside and out, looked very clean. I will definitely be looking into this hotel when I come back for another concert in town.

This hotel was alright. Based on the reviews here and the part of town it's in I was pretty worried before my stay. The room was actually quite nice, it was recently remodeled, clean and quiet. I might stay again, but may look for a hotel in a safer location, the area is a bit sketchy. The staff was nice and the breakfast was below average for hotel continental breakfast.

Cheap hotel close to the center d-sacramento, and well connected. Comfortable beds.

The location was perfect for my morning appointment at a medical facility. I didn't have to deal with morning traffic issues. My room was quiet, clean and comfortable. I was able to eat a small breakfast and enjoy fresh hot coffee before leaving.

Comfortable beds, my room was clean. All staff I interacted with were courteous, friendly and helpful. Shuttle was prompt, arrived and left exactly when it was supposed to. Would happily stay there anytime I needed to park and fly.

I personally had the worst hotel experience here. The carpet in the rooms were dirty where your feet will get black. The bathtub was filthy where there were black and yellow build up stains. The bathroom doors and many more areas in the room were stained black or food stain on them. The beds were very small and not comfortable. I requested for another pillow 3 times and never once got my extra another pillow. I had reserve this hotel for 5 nights and decided to deal with the uncleanness due to the fact that our time spent at the hotel was only for a very short period of time. I would never stay at this hotel again.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were fairly basic but clean with soft beds. The area this hotel is located made me fear to leave the room. At one time a homeless person was chasing another because he encroached on the others shelter. That is why I'm only giving them 3 stars.

This is exactly what you should expect for the relatively low price you pay at this hotel. Nothing great, but also nothing glaringly wrong. Front desk staff were generally helpful and friendly, the breakfast was adequate, and there's a very basic pool on site. Check-in did take a while as they had some computer issues for all 3 of the bookings myself and my coworkers made. Also, the coffee, while available 24/7, is awful. But hey, this is a basic hotel for a basic price. Room was fine and comfortable enough and that's all you should expect out of a hotel like this.

The room is very clean, but the bathroom area needs some deep cleaning. The water pressure in the shower is excellent, but be aware that the water runs very hot. We couldn't hear any other guests through the walls and the customer service here is exemplary. The pool water is pretty clean, but the deck area could use some TLC. There are no towels provided at the pool area, so they must be brought from your room. There is no mini fridge in the rooms. A microwave is available in the lounge. The free breakfast impressed me. Plenty of choices and an organized set up. A nice, affordable stay.

Good facility, not so good location. Big clean room, dog friendly. Backs up to Discovery Park, but you can't walk there (huge fence). Close to other hotels and the kinds of restaurants that gather around them, but lots of homeless folks hang out along the streets during the day. While we were there, there was a murder in another nearby hotel. Crime tape takes the shine off any visit.

The Wi-Fi is terrible, the tvs do not function well. Its a poor choice of hotel. Stayed here on a business trip and will likely avoid this place on my next visit. On a bright note there is a mexican restaurant down the street calked nina's. It is phenomenal and the prices are great. I do recommend you go there.

Checked in and the lobby seemed nice, but step outside the reception area and yikes. Saw a person tweaking right outside the building, room smelled so much like smoke and there were stray cats all over the parking lot. Not to mention the noise was insane, we could hear the freeway loud and our door didn't latch all the way. Needless to stay we switched hotels after seeing the room. I would avoid this one, there are better hotels for the price.

Great place to stay. Breakfast was lacking compared to other la Quinta's I've stayed at. But overall love LQ for quick stays. (especially if traveling with dogs)

Needed an affordable family suite for Father's day weekend. This stay has been amazing. Breakfast offered oatmeal, waffle makers, pastries, juices fruit so much. It was perfect for the kids.

The facilities were fine and the amenities were great for the price. The neighborhood was sketchy. Other than that, it was a good bargain.

Worse experience ever, as soon as we arrived the first thing we saw was shady looking people! We convinced ourselves to give it a try (keep in mind that its me, my mother, my daughter and my grandmother for a mothers day trip) we walked into our room and to my surprise it was an updated room. As soon as we started taking things out of the car I started to get more and more uncomfortable with the man who was starring at us, I immediately called the front desk and asked them to change our room. They did! Then as night came I started to see bums all around the property and drunk people. I made sure to lock up and put a chair on the door! The next morning as we left to go to breakfast we found vomit all over the hallway! DISGUSTING! As we made it to the breakfast area I noticed that there was people sneaking in to get breakfast and the staff on security did absolutely nothing (these people are touching all the food with unwashed hands) … I was so disgusted I asked my family to get in the car and go to the dennys down the street! As the day progressed I grew more anxious to the point that I asked if we could check out and get a refund! They said unfortunately we are to late to check out and we won't get our money back! So as I sit here in this disgusting cock roach infested room I pray nothing happens to us! PLEASE if you can spend a bit more go somewhere else! It seems this property is used to hold drug addicts or low income people!

Stay away. The pictures online are not acuret to date. Rooms are small and dirty. I travel for a living hands down a nasty la. Quinta. The transients cut threw the fence by the dumpster from the train tracks above. Pool is empty. Beds are not comfortable. I checked in at 2:30 pm I work nights. I slept for three hours and checking back out. I planned a two week stay. … they couldn't pay me to stay there two nights In a row. As a elite member of this chain. Very disappointed. Staff was helpful. Sarcasm. My TV didn't work and they had to bring me two different remote control. One for volume and the other to change chanel. Had to upgrade my 2nd room to a single. Due to no microwave or min frig. Then tried to tell me only one of my two rooms were booked with that amenities. Very untrue. Both booked under my name and both rooms and rates were the same. And I also found on the floor a device that you give yourself a shot with. So that says how well they clean. A diabetic self injection shot. The maintenance men. Yeah it took two to turn the TV on and make it work. Apologize for the room I showed the online photo and asked were are these rooms both answered there is nothing at all here that looks like that. They were in the room when I spotted the thing on the floor. And pointed it out as I picked it up. Realizing what it was we both were disturbed lead man removed it is asked to take a photo. He allowed it but was reluctant… agen stay clear.

Booked this for $109 a night for 5 nights for a work trip. I've stayed in la quinta before and this is probably the worst I've been in. I ended up canceling the reservation and chose another hotel down the road. The bad: The carpets are sticky, its outdated, smells sort of like a wet towel and the room was incredibly humid. I can see the pool from my window which has green algae all on the sides. My tub doesn't drain, and the tub lining gives when you step on it. You can literally hear everything outside. Stains on the bed sheets. The good: It's close to a neat walking trail, and they have a friendly staff. I saw a sign in the lobby stating renovations were coming soon. Recommend updating the decor and furnishing of the rooms (especially new carpet! )

Location was great, just wish our rooms were closer together. The suite we were in needed some maint and the bed could have been better. But all in all no real issues. The breakfast was more than generous. It's not just some toast and coffee like some places.

Good location right on the river and bike trails. Very nice and helpful people working this hotel. Several wild, yet cared for cats on premise. So be careful if your dog does not like cats. Other than that, and the many homeless people in Sacramento, this hotel is a good stay for the great price.

Stayed here new years eve and the people in the next room were having a party. I called the front desk and was told by Asia that the screaming and yelling and partying was just something I was going to have to deal with because it is new years. I just learned that the hawthorn suites by Wyndham 2 blocks away has a no partying policy.

Staff was very friendly and professional. I requested a late check out and they provided me with one. Great stay.

I had the worest experience with this Laquinta Inn. The hotel room smell horrible and the carpet was disgusting. The worst part about my experience at this location, I woke up with bed bugs bites all over my body. I checked out the next day… I will never go to this hotel again!

Stayed here with my family went to hang a towel up on the closet door and roaches came out the room had a bad smell to it and it was not clean at all it was the worst stay I ever have had with LA quentia.

Once my family and I walked in the room. It wrenched with cigarets. We did not last a minute in that room. We have been a to a Quinta but in Rancho Corova. We expected this one to be the same. It was far from the same. Don't recommend it.

The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating. We got there via Amtrak and the hotel shuttle took us back and forth to dinner and old downtown. We asked for late check out and that was no problem. I love the location. If you are a walker or bike rider, you can walk the bike trail along the river into old town and its abt a mile. You can walk into discovery park which is a short blk away, and there is a 23 mile bike path winding thru beautiful old trees with vines hanging down,. Or you can launch your boat into the Sacramento river. Thank fully we had a river side room, it was $80. A nite, room was clean and we didn't have any problems.

Just spent 3 nights there and the place is just there to rack em and pack em. Rooms stink like old cigarette smoke and an old beer party scene. The parking spaces are so narrow that you can not help not to door ding your neighbor. The sidewalks and elevator look and smell disgusting. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling and an old smell of dog from the carpet in the rooms. Reviews on the internet are not quite up to reality. You get what you pay for here. Looks like you have to spend a little over $100 a night, to get a better place to sleep in Sacramento. I would never recommend this to anyone, although the Governor's Inn on the east side of I-5 is way better.

Over priced Sh¡T hole! Paid $90 for standard room that was infested with bugs flying little nats and other bugs. The toilet leaked when you flushed it. Can't believe so many people stay here. They must have $ to burn because I will never stay here again! Motel 6 is better for the price and what you get. Stay away.

The hands-down worst La Quinta we've ever stayed at. Heat didn't work. We were told "there's really nothing we can do" "all I can recommend is shutting it off" — coffeemaker was some chinsy one-cup model. No microwave. No fridge. Only food was under the freeway past the hookers, pimps, drug dealers, crazed meth addist talking to themselves. Even that we had to find by mistake after the security guard assured us (at 10pm) there was no place to eat for miles and miles. Bed was so low to the ground I almost broke my back laying down. Cheap, thin mattress. Plasticky pillow covers. Do not stay here. I could seriously go on for an hour, but suffice it to say it's bad. Reaaaally bad.

Ok for the price paid. Quiet room when you get one facing the river.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights on a weekend to go see an event called Afterschock. Approximately eighty percent of the customers that stayed at the La Quinta that weekend were going to Afterschock. The hotel gave us a parking permit for one car for the time we stayed. We checked out at 11am on sunday and asked the front desk if our parking permits would cover us until the end of the day (the permit did not say how long it was valid). The front desk staff ASSURED us that we would be safe to keep our car parked there. Well, they lied! We came back after a long day and our car was gone! They towed us! We went to the front desk and the lobby was full of angry customers. It cost us well over $400 to get our car back, not to mention the additional hours of waiting and stress after a very long weekend. Im not a person who gets upset easily, but this was just wrong on so many levels. How could they do this to their customers? Apparently they do not care about repeat business. Our permit did not have a date that it was valid through anywhere on it, so we asked if it was ok to stay park there for the rest of the day. And we trusted them. Additionally, there was NOTHING posted about being towed in the parking lot, nor was there anything in our contract that we signed stating that acknowledged their parking polices. The rooms: The rooms smelled and we felt dirty just being in there. Thankfully, we were so busy during our vacation that we didn't have to be in the room much.

I visited this hotel for an event this past weekend and it was delightful! The front desk staff from the morning crew to the manager in the afternoon were always incredibly helpful with sincere smiles and wonderful service. I bugged them more than once and each time they were kind and attentive. Would definitely recommend staying here or using their facilities for events.

I stayed here in October of 2012 and I say it's a good hotel to stay in if you do not want to be downtown Sac. It's right by the river which is cool and they have someone cleaning the pool everyday so don't worry for it not being dirty. I plan on staying here again if om ever in the area.

Awesome hotel, best bang for you buck. Clean rooms, good shower pressure, comfy pillows, I think temperpedic bed? Kids by the pool were loud, but I couldnt hear them in the room. Paid 81 for one night. Definaty staying here again.
