Gave us the wrong direction so they sent us to the other one. We had to back track after being on the road 13 hrs. Wrong reservations… door room key did not work. Water turned off after 10am… we pay until 11:00 check out. Not going to recommend this to anyone!

Edit — I have no idea how I gave them a 1 star! I'm out of town weekly for work, so new hotel every time. This is by far my favorite. Rooms were decent but beds weren't the best. Breakfast was AMAZING!

Stayed 9 days. Food got boring, Bacon under cooked. However staff and food presentation was wonderful. Rooms were small. Beds were lumpy, we changed rooms and new room had better bed. The Hotel does need to up-grade their lumpy beds. New Hotel being built next door, it will have new beds! Best Western Hilltop does allow smokers to smoke outside the rooms and the smoke will come into your room through the air-conditioner or fan, we complained but Staff could not enforce Calif smoking law. Nice Hotel if you have a pet. Security on site nightly a good thing.

This place is a very nice hotel for it's price. The rooms are average at best but the amenities are what makes up for it. The pool area is family friendly and they have a great breakfast selection until 10am. TV channels are great. Overall nice stay.

Good location, friendly staff, great service. Rooms are comfortable and clean and well-maintained. A bigger problem is noise; the exterior-facing rooms open to public walkways and passers-by made a lot of noise well into the night and early the next morning. Aesthetically, the rest of the property outside the lobby feels old and worn down and altogether not very inviting. I don't know what criteria Best Western uses to designate its "Plus" properties, but I don't believe this property deserves that moniker. Other Best Westerns (such as the Ashland or Mount Shasta ones) are much, much nicer (but also cost more). Perhaps the inconsistencies between different Best Westerns are more a product of their franchising model rather than the fault of any individual hotel. All in all, it was a fine stay, but I'd probably choose the Red Lion Hotel just up the street rather than this property (at a similar price point). It's just a bit nicer and the rooms are more secluded.

This is a great place to stay. Room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant on site was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a great place if you are in the area and need an inexpensive place for a couple nights. Very clean and staff is friendly. I only give it 4 because I always think there is room. For improvement. I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice stay at this hotel. Pool area one of the nicest in northern California. Wish was presented just a little later. Would stay/ will stay here again.

Overall is good. Especially the staff. The room I stay has one big problem: bad smell of remodel. And it is just right beside the I5, but not bad when close door. Yes, the position is very convenient to highway, and there lots of fast food restaurants nearby.

This is a great Motel to stop at on our way to the Pacific Northwest. It a common stop for us over the years, as it is about 8 hour from our home. It is always clean, comfortable and has a great breakfast to send us on our way! There are plenty of local restaurants and shopping nearby as well.

My wife and I stayed here only 1 night on our way to Northern California and Oregon, but we wish we could have stayed for several. The hotel is lovely, the staff is friendly and competent, and the rooms are nicely appointed. They have a beautiful heated swimming pool and surrounding patio area in which you can't help but relax and unwind. I think the highlight of our stay, however, was their included breakfast buffet. It is outstanding, and is located in their adjoining restaurant. The selection and quality of the foods was just great. Don't pass this place by if you need a place to stay in Redding.

Great place. Easy access off the freeway. Wonderful huge breakfast. Comfortable bed and clean room. They provide security at night patrolling the parking etc which made me feel more secure. Only problem was a defective roof fan that could not be fixed, they could not move me to another room, and the staff receiving this complaint discounted it until other staff checked and confirmed the loud vibrating noise. Aside from that one, I would definitely stay there again.

The Best Western Hotels are the BEST. An AWESOME experience. It was comfortable, pleasant, clean and well presented in all areas. We stay there time and time again. Satisfied guests.

Comfy room, quiet and clean. My Granddaughter really wanted to swim when we arrived — so she enjoyed the heated pool all to herself! The Continental Breakfast was really great — with a nice large restaurant area to enjoy it in. Unlike other BW’s I’ve been to where it’s served in a small breakfast room with limited seating. All around great place to stay — highly recommended.

Situated right by I-5. Clean spacious rooms. Shower and toilet in separate room from sink. Comfortable bed. Comprehensive offering of TV channels. Courteous staff. Gibbs restaurant next door offers superior American cuisine.

Such a great place to stop on our trip from Seattle to Phoenix. They had an awesome dog kit when checking in with a pup, along with a nice grassy area for potty breaks. Christopher checked us in and was awesome. Everything was clean and well kept. Parking was a breeze, as they had you park in front of the room you were staying. Also, amazing pillows — so good, we actually ended up ordering them off of Amazon the next morning.

We enjoyed staying at the Hilltop Inn! All the staff was great from check-in to check-out. The restaurant was fabulous too! The free breakfast was served in the restaurant and was full buffet style with many choices. Definitely recommend!

The guy at the front desk was super Nice! He helped us out a lot! The rooms are super clean they also smelled nice! The grounds are nice and clean. The breakfast in the morning is yummy and tons a good to chose from!

Super friendly staff. We called in at 11:00 pm and advised we would be in around 1am and there were 5 of us. When we arrived they had the room ready with the roll away bed already in room. We were pulling a horse trailer and the security had us park next to his office so he can watch my ponies all night. I was able to get a good nights sleep not having to worry about them. All in all it was very clean and the staff was amazing! Definitely 5 stars!

Beautiful hotel. Always stay here for the night when we drive from LA to Hyampom to visit the in-laws. Appreciate that they always tend to us quickly and hold our room even though we arrive after midnight. Breakfast is the best!

Had an amazing Christmas party here and stayed the night after. Staff was amazing and fun and our room was comfortable. The bed and pillows were especially comfortable. We will be re-booking our company party here again next year.

Very nice place. Staff was as usual friendly. Our Room was very clean. Only issue was our room being at the backside was facing Freeway. There was continuous freeway noise. Breakfast buffet was awesome but there were not many options for vegetarians.

In our most recent stay in Nov. 2017, The check in lady was very helpful, but do not have her name. Also the waitress and cook helpers in the restaurant were very good. In fact when I ordered the calamari for dinner, the guy from the kitchen came back and said they were out but that I could order something else, when the waitress brought out the menu he came back and asked me if I could wait about 15 minutes if they prepared a calamari dinner fresh. I said yes and so they brought me my original request with about half as much more than a regular size of the calamari dish and also gave me a free beer while I waited. Great staff and great restaurant staff and food.

We were so happy we chose to stop here and stay one night after 13 hours driving. The room was beautiful, clean and quiet. The restaurant was not your everyday selection, more special. We enjoyed a gourmet meal with excellent service, slept very well in a comfortable bed and had to leave at 5:30 am so we missed the full hot breakfast that was included. The reception gave us a grab and go bag to help compensate. We will definitely plan to stay there again next year on our way to Palm Springs for the winter.

The good: The room was quiet — located away from the parking area near the pool. The bad: The pool was closed for repairs, so the "quiet" was perhaps deceiving. The ugly: The in-room coffeemaker was missing a part. The hotel seems to own one luggage cart which was not available at check-out. I made six trips through the lobby and out to my car with luggage and business boxes. None of the three employees at the lobby counter bothered to find a cart when asked, not step around to help with my luggage. There were no customers for them to wait on at that hour. The employees chose to chit-chat with one another instead. Quoth the raven, "Never more. "

A great staff of professional employees who go the extra mile to make sure you have an enjoyable stay. The free breakfast quality and presentation are the best of any hotel I have ever stayed at; certainly adds value to your stay. The hotel restaurant and lounge, CR Gibbs, serves tasty refreshing cocktails and delicious meals.

Lovely room, friendly and courteous hotel staff, and a delicious complimentary breakfast! We were here for a wedding and we were very impressed with the hotel and staff! Centrally located to shopping and food, too.

Due to Front Desk error, we were locked out of our room — me and my child, in a remote corner of a giant hotel complex in a strange city. I have a shattered ankle and can't walk to Front Desk, which is about a football field's length and two stories away. Driving around would mean re-loading all of our bags back in the car first — — so I called the number on the key card to ask Front Desk to send someone with a new card or to let us in. I was told I was lazy and why didn't I walk myself, then I was told to send my 9 year-old by himself through the outside corridors next to the parking lot and down two flights of stairs, in a strange city, right next to the Interstate — then I was laughed at, and told I was being difficult, and after 20 minutes of begging I gave up and limped to the Front Desk. Front Desk manager Rosie told me if I was unhappy with how they handled it I was "free to stay elsewhere. " Ironic, or just sad, because night before — — when Rosie was not around — the staff were stellar and my son said, "We should go on Yelp and tell people how great this hotel is! " We were on our way back to the hotel to do just that when Rosie's mistake had locked us out. She admitted her error but never apologized for it, and added after I told her I had a shattered ankle, "My ankle gets sore, too. " So sad one person can spread so much misery. My son said, "Rosie's one of those women who is mean but smiles when she's angry.

Very helpful staff. I left something valuable in the room and it was saved for me and forwarded to me that same day. I greatly appreciate their help and caring attitude. Excellent hotel.

Excellent over night stay! After a day in the sweltering heat it was great to relax in our very clean, air conditioned room. After a short nap we had dinner at the hotels restaurant, excellent meals. My daughter and I had a very relaxing, comfortable night followed by a very delicious complimentary breakfast. Soon after it was time to checkout.

A very decent hotel with adequate laundry facility. Room is clean. The front desk staff is very friendly. First time guests are in for a treat with the free breakfast. It's a buffet at the C. R. Gibbs American Grille next door.

We always stay at a Best Western when we're on the road. This one was really good. Very nice lobby and desk staff. Redding was a stop on our way to our destination. We got in around dinner time and got a couple of good recommendations. There were four of us in the room and it was pretty close but it worked. We will probably stay there again on our way back.

Very clean, new and well decorated rooms. The breakfast buffet that was included was fantastic and the staff very helpful and friendly. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant and enjoyed the two times that we ate there. The only drawback for the rooms on the second floor was the lack of an elevator, so we had to carry heavy suitcases up the stairs.

The Best Western Hill top in Redding California is a must! We stay here every time we go through town. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are clean and nice, the pool is well cared for. The staff have been excellent every time we have stayed. The free continental breakfast is the most well appointed breakfast anywhere. I recommend this place to all of my friends.

I love this place, the rooms are great and yes I've eaten at Gibbs. We love the free brea, kfast buffet. This, owning was spinach, mushroom, sausage and cheese omelets, fried potatoes, bacon, waffles, coffee, orange juice. There was so much more but heck we were full. The stop twice a year. At least.

When booking a room online, there was a choice of 2 queen beds, or 2 queen beds deluxe. I spent a lot of time deciding if I wanted to spend the extra money for the deluxe room. After reading the hotels description of the deluxe room as quiet and not next to the highway, I decided to book the deluxe since we would be driving all day. When we arrived around 1130 pm, we were assigned a room on the opposite side of the hotel lobby. When we arrived at our room, it was right next to the freeway (loud freeway), had an odor of maybe smoke, even though it said non-smoking and instead of 2 queen beds there were 2 full beds. Instead of taking our luggage and kids back to the lobby, we spent the night in the room and talked to the desk clerk the next morning. She argued that, the room met the description of a deluxe room. She said all the beds in the hotel are the same size and that is their queen size. We stayed at a Marriott hotel the next night and my husband said, now this is a queen. Take notes Best Western. After showing the clerk the hotel description of the deluxe room on my phone, she gave me a credit for just the price difference between the regular room and the deluxe. This was my express checkout. Find a better hotel, with better service, that's truthful about their descriptions and not next to the freeway.

Great breakfast options. Good food. Can't say the same about the rooms though. Spacious but you can hear your neighbors. No sound proofing at all. Cupboard needed more airing. Overall room could have been more fresh. Bathrooms are big but in a weird shape. Apart from this, the Inn has pool, jacuzzi, and a restaurant. Will say a okay place to stop on I5.

Can't complain, great place great service, kept very clean, great food. Look forward to staying again.

Hotel was OK. However, they need to dissociate with CR Gibbs, their restaurant. The front desk will try to sell you a $20.00 bar certificate for $10.00 sounds great, it's not. The bartender will watch what he wants (out of state basketball) not local Hockey in last round of playoffs, or SF GIANTS BASEBALL (closest MLB tram currently on 8game winning streak) so what happened to the customer is always right? So we went to Cattleman's down the street and watched the game there. So for the free breakfast, the next morning. We had terrible powdered scrambled eggs, and had to listen to them vacuuming the floor right in front of us. (And it smelled awful) I used the $20 certificate for a bloody mary. When I asked about change or credit, I was told they don't do that, and I would have to talk with the manager. The manager was nice, and said he would comp the drink and we could use the certificate for lunch. Service was good, food was OK, ambiance sucks! YOU NEED TO FIX THE NOISE LEVEL! This has been an issue for years. I'm surprised OSHA doesn't make the servers wear hearing protection. Other than that the stay was great. I would recommend the hotel to friends, as long as they eat and drink at CATTLEMAN'S.

Crappy desk service. My room that I reserved was not available so give me a room next to four clooege ball players. No go so in the next room no ac working have been to redding for work twice a month for the last two years I think its time to try a different hotel.

Very clean bedroom, l was excited about all the movies that they have complimentary for the guests but the DVD player in the room doesn't work. Staff is really, really nice but also loud. Slept comfortably, very clean bathroom. Complimentary Coffee in the bedroom tastes like mud. The outlet from the lamp did not work either. Pretty good location though, great restaurant too!

Good location, easy to get to off of I5 and get around. Very little choice for dining besides fast food around if you get in later than 9PM. Rooms were clean and spacious enough, we had a handicap accessible room so the shower was extra large and included a bench. Complimentary breakfast was included, had all the basics: juice, coffee, hot water, eggs, bacon, toast, cereal, fruit etc.

I travel a lot and this is by far my favorite place to go… Rooms are always the best and the food, bar, and service at CR Gibbs is top shelf. I have been staying here for business for over 15 years and have never been disappointed!

The staff was rude and the manager was computer illiterate, they then refused to let me check in ~ after jumping through their hoops my room wasn't even done and I had to wait 2 hours. I told them no stay over service and left the dnd sign on my door after letting the housekeeper know, my room got cleaned and some stuff went missing. Honestly terrible customer service.

"Don't stay here! " The room stunk right down to the pillow! The stench in the room was a combination of the lack of cleaniness and a mechanical smell coming from the air conditioning unit. It was disgusting. I actually washed the headboard off before trying to get some rest, because there was "something nasty" on it. Had we gotten there earlier, we wouldn't have stayed; however, we didn't arrive until 10:00 pm and had driven all day. The elevator stunk and had filthy carpet. "Who puts carpet in an outdoor, non-ventilated elevator? " Hotels outdoor walkways were dirty and the railings around the walkways have cobb webs on them. So did the corner of our door into our room. How dated the room was pales by comparison. Funny. The hotel lobby is nice and the restaurant is clean and decent. Beyond that this hotel needs updating and a thorough cleaning. Staff was friendly.

We loved this place and wished we could have stayed longer. Really comfortable beds, nicely decorated, very clean. The staff was polite and accommodating. The pool area is nice and the free breakfast was the best we have had in ten days, 2300 miles, and 8 hotels. We have stayed in motels, mid-range hotels, and luxury hotels. This Best Western was one of the best.

It seemed more expensive then we wanted for a quick overnight stay on our travels. However, after reading reviews of other places in town we decided to spend the extra money. The room was quiet, the bed was great and we enjoyed 2 meals at the restaurant (including the free breakfast). We will stay here again.

The trouble with first impressions is you only get to make them once. The first person I met when I arrived was Joy at the front desk. Unfortunately she was not a joy, she was rude. I have no idea whey she was so snooty, perhaps she was just having a bad day. Otherwise the rooms were quite nice and it is a pleasant place to stay.
