Reviews of Alila Napa Valley, a Hyatt Resort 5*
Please read: Avoid this hotel at all costs if you are planning on getting and rest. We stayed at room 101 for 2 nights and then at 401 for another 2 nights. Both rooms suffer from lack of insulation and as such, you feel like your upstairs neighbours are walking in your room. 401 (junior suite) has the added problem that is directly below a service room, with people walking in and out all night. You can hear the traffic in the freeway from both rooms and this is specially bad at very early hours of the morning. Also 401 lacks on blackout blinds and the room is light flooded from 5.30am (see pictures) and on both rooms, there is almost no water pressure in the showers (lovely Komodo toilets, though) For the rates we paid, I would most certainly not recommend this hotel — you are almost better off staying at a motel down the road. It is shocking that for such and expensive refurbishment, they cut corners and did not Put any noise insulation down. We could not sleep for 4 days and by the end of it we felt emotional. Before moving rooms, I did bring up the issue with the front desk who lies to me and said that 401 was actually quieter (definitely not the case) AVIOD this hotel is you want to get any sleep / rest.
The facilities are spectacular and hold up to the Luxury Collection brand. There seems to still be a lack of coordination amongst the different departments which impacts the guest ease of stay. This is either a systems issue or the property is still in their "figuring it out" stage.
