Very cozy rooms. Best mattress for comfort out of last 3 places I stayed. V personable. They served a good breakfast at reasonable price (like everywhere, in take-out boxes.

It was beautiful with many sights and the people working there were nice and overall great.

The hotel was charming and rustic! It was clean and comfortable! There was even a balcony with 2 rocking chairs and a beautiful view of the forest. Another very cool thing was every once in a while you could hear the soft whistle of the nearby train. I recommend this hotel!

This is our third time staying here, they are huge dog lovers and usually deliver a dog treat and poop bags to your room, however being covid, housekeeping is only upon check out. I highly recommend this place, adorable, clean beautiful, quaint, shabby chic rooms. Only 3 miles from Yosemite national park, there, the cats out of the bag!

Great relaxing place! Have been lucky all 4 stays with no noise. There is a creek along side part of the property. It's up in the pine trees. Nice and relaxing. Highly recommend it here.

Great stay, very cozy restaurant by the side of the hotel. Staff was very friendly. Facilities where good too, and lots of things to do close by. I happened to leave my sunglasses behind and they where kind to send them back to my place!

First off they tried charging me for breakfast when it was apart of my reservation said free breakfast included (think they still charged me) we were supposed to stay for 3 nights. It was so hot there (they had no AC) that we were miserable! So we checked out early. They didn't even offer to refund the rest of our money. So there's alot of money wasted! Then I wake up this am with extra charges! What the hell?!? I've NEVER been charged extra at any place I've stayed at before! This is a NIGHTMARE of a place to stay! This place should be shut down! PLEASE BEWARE: don't stay here you will regret it!

The place is nice and we'll cleaned the surrounding is beautiful. Staff is friendly and the pool is refreshing after a long hike or a long drive. However, for 200usd without breakfast, I would like my coffee counter to be outside the bathroom and the ac could be better.

They advertise "free breakfast" but beware, it's not free. Also, they only offer breakfast from 8:30-1030 but recommend leaving for the park by 7:00 am. That was the deal breaker. Also no microwave or mini fridge in the room to make our own food. It's located about a ten minute drive from the South Gate. Overall, rooms were nice but outdated.

It is a nice three star hotel just by the entrance to Yosemite National Park. Rooms are spacious and adequate. They all have big balconies although not much of an interesting view, but during the day one should be exploring the park so the view is not much of an issue. Breakfast is nothing to rave about. They are very nice and welcoming.

My husband and I booked this hotel as a special treat during our honeymoon. It turned out to be more of a hastle than anything else. We booked online knowing they'd have breakfast included, a pool, and a hot tub. Upon checking in we're told the breakfast is $10 a person per day. After questioning that breakfast was thought to be included we showed the confirmation email and we were given breakfast tickets, but were told the hot tub and pool haven't worked for months and we were given no notice. As this was the hotel we splurged on, we had really been looking forward to using all the amenities (that we thought we were paying for). After talking to the manager they were able to give us a refund, but they couldn't tell us right away, so we ended up finding out at the top of glacier point after sunset (9pm). Which left us trying to figure out a different place to stay. Thankfully Southgate hotel had openings with a hot tub, pool, sauna and steam room to boot!

The week of May 20, 20018, we stayed one night at this cozy inn before we visited Yosemite National Park. This is a very unique experience and I am glad my wife selected this hotel for one night. This inn is located inside the forest, the room is clean and tidy and the deck of our room faces the wood. The surrounding is excellent with a mini trail and some flowers and in the morning you can smell the fragrance of flowers. Usually people do not expect too much for the quality of food in such an isolated locations, but to my surprise, I have enjoyed one of the best dining experience in this Inn compared to my very disappointed dinner in a upscale restaurant in Los Angels previous night. We had crab cake, scallop, beef, and finally had a cake with candle as it was my wife's birthday. I was told by the manager George (? ) the chef was from a upscale restaurant in San Francisco and I certainly agree. The service team is also friendly and wonderful. I would highly recommend this inn to anyone who would like to have a unique experience in the forest and nice food.

We found this lovely cozy inn while driving into Yosemite during a spring snow storm. What a delightful surprise! Our room was cozy and clean and we had a spectacular dinner in the restaurant. The views were also amazing.

So I decided to take a trip to Yosemite national park for two days just to see a great scenery and get away from everything. While I was there, I was looking for an overnight place to stay that was within budget and had restaurants nearby. Luckily I embark up on the Narrow Gauge Inn. The hotel had a very homely / country feel to it which reflected the wonderful environment around it. The rooms were clean, beds were big, sizable TV in the room, & the bathroom was clean. Also, I had great customer service from one of the staff people at the site by the name of George, whom made my stay seamless. Breakfast is available 7-9 a. M! I recommend this site for multiple night stays while you're visiting Yosemite National Park that is only minutes away.

We stayed in May 2016 there and I still remember this hotel well. We felt comfortable there. Very idyllic. Room very clean and breakfast was good. Yosemite Park was a short distance away. I can only recommend.

Keriann and the owner here went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. I would highly recommend room You'll get a beautiful view of the creek. A little outdated, but so incredibly charming!

Our first time at Yosemite, we booked for a night here and last minute decided to head up one night early. Our first night was in a double room (their last available room) that backed up into the Forrest. You can tell they recently renovated the room to look very sharp but it still remained it's cosy cabin vibe. Our late check in went so smoothly. The view was unbelievable. The second night we wanted to move to a king bed room. The second room wasn't renovated but still very nice and clean. Great location and cozy atmosphere. About a 5 minute drive to the Yosemite South entrance. Breakfast was pretty simple but the food hall was so charming. George the cook came around to make sure everyone felt welcome and had what they needed. Will definitely stay again. Amazing value for the price!

This place is stunning! It's nestled in the woods right outside the south entrance to Yosemite National Park, and had incredible views. It's very quaint and quiet and feels like your by yourself in the middle of the woods. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, even with late check-in. They offer a complimentary breakfast buffet that is loads better than normal hotels. I will definitely be back here to stay again when I come to Yosemite.

Cute, quaint and rustic place in the woods. They were doing construction that woke me up (but can't blame someone for making upgrades). I loved my birthday getaway here! Great view into the forest from the balcony, friendly staff and nice rooms! I would give it 5 stars but the sound barrier in the front was a little weak so that we could hear people getting up, walking by our room and talking. Totally recommend this spot though and will come again! Right outside Yosemite :)

The Place may not be the cheapest, but due to the fact that it is really close to the Yosemite National Park, the price is ok. Everything else is really great. Especially the service was great. The Night Guard welcomed us really nice at our late arrival and the barkeeper is always up for a good conversation. The rooms and the dining hall convey an old-school athmosphere and are pretty much looking like the place you would imagine when thinking of a place to spend a long evening in front of the warm chimney.

Nice for a stoppover. Very quaint, beautiful view of nature from the room. Unfortunately Restaurant had closed and we had to drive a few kilometers again to get dinner. Continental breakfast and parking were included. Room old but clean. Unfortunately, the heating didn't work, but was immediately repaired.

An updated 1950's hunting lodge with real ambiance. The property is quaint and the rooms simple with a real feel for those who visited Yosemite in years past. The bar and restaurant exude real charm and one feels like one is stepping back in time. The staff and very courteous and the property very well maintained with walking trails on-site and nearby. Next door is a lovely narrow gauge railway with summer tours of the Sierra National Forrest. A real must at the southern entrance to Yosemite!

Two buildings to choose rooms from: upper and lower. The lower level is cheaper — don't be fooled by their advertisement for a 3-room suite. It's one bedroom and two bathrooms! Overall nice spot, reasonably priced and friendly staff. I'd come again.

A little bit on the pricier side but it's really close to Yosemite Natl Park and the staff was really nice and helpful.

Dear finger away from this hotel. We had cancelled our room in good time within the cancellation period and also received a cancellation confirmation. That was 7 weeks ago, since then we have been running after our down payment. After many unanswered emails, we actually received a short message 2 weeks ago that you couldn't repay the money because you couldn't book anything on our credit card (but that's not true because another provider, around the same time, has no Such problems with a payment). Our proposal to transfer the money to us or to send it to us via Paypal or IRGENDONE other way has not been addressed. Since then, despite a number of emails, we have not heard anything. Very disappointing, really a shame!

Unfortunately, we were just out of season where the restaurant and pool are closed. As a result, the content unfortunately loses a lot of its appeal and I no longer find the price fair. There is still a breakfast, but in a very small room in front of the reception with cardboard cups and plates … (I don't think that's possible at all, especially. For a place in front of a national park, where is the sustainability here?! ) Dinner must then be found in the neighbouring village or in other hostels. I think with the restaurant and pool open, staying is certainly a better one. So pay attention to it when booking and adjust to it accordingly beforehand. Otherwise, but cosy, clean rooms and a very good starting point for the trip to Yosemite Park.

Comfy and cozy is how I would describe this place. Excellent location about a 75 minute drive from Yosemite Valley. The staff was accommodating and friendly.

The staff is very friendly. Joey, who checked us was helpful. We were celebrating a birthday and they had a little welcome basket waiting in the room for us with a card. The grounds are very pretty and have a nice garden you can walk through. The room is nicely furnished with a rustic theme and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom has a little vanity area. The shower is small though. The room had a balcony with 2 rocking chairs and table to enjoy the view. Unfortunately, since the property does allow smoking on the balcony, if you're not a smoker but your neighbor is the smoke and smell will still drift to your room. Although the room did not have air conditioning, the heat was never unbearable in the room by keeping the window and balcony door open and the fan the hotel provides on. The complimentary breakfast is also good. They provide cereal, oatmeal, potatoes, eggs, sausage and toast. The restaurant serving dinner in the evenings is also very good.

Super cute and cozy. Peaceful balcony view. The restaurant isn't open on Monday or Tuesday but dining options are available just 2 miles down the road at another lodge (recommended by the front desk). Despite a few reviews that said otherwise, I found the bed and pillows to be extremely comfortable. I wish we had more time to stay and enjoy the accommodations. When we checked in, the windows were open and the room was hot so we closed them and turned on the AC. It took a while to cool the room and the ceiling fan didn't seem to do much to help. However, this seems to be a simple fix by perhaps asking the front desk to make sure the air is on in advance. In the meantime, I simply stayed on top of the covers reading through the literature in the room. I would definitely stay at the Inn again.

In 2112 we went to the Narrow Gauge Inn and it was great, now it's a run down dump. The Good: The staff at the restaurant, Dawn, Doug, Will and Jacob and the bar, which becomes invaluable after checking into this over priced place. The Bad: Everything else. 1) Jacuzzi — broken for months 2) Everything is in disrepair — all the the paint is chipping off, the planters are empty, carpets are dirty, this place needs a couple million dollars worth off repair, 3) AAA would rate this place a one star 4) Pillows are terrible 5) Floor tiling is coming up in the bathroom 6) No air conditioning,! It's 90 degrees in the Summer in Yosemite. Lock up your room for the day and come back to a bake oven. 7) Food in the restaurant is just 'okay', much better eats at the South Gate Brewery in Oakhurst 8) Two people we met left early because this place is so bad. 9) Rooms are furnished by Goodwill, two of the drawers in our unit were broken 10) Do you see that cool fire engine in the pictures. Never brought it out! 11) I asked twice for the owners to contact me, they never did. 12) The lady night manager.

I would highly advise checking out one of the nearby and likely better options if you are considering staying at the Narrow Gauge Inn. The management is rude, the accommodations are shoddy, and if you are going to come somewhere as special as Yosemite you should not risk an unpleasant stay. On arrival, well after the checkin time, we were told that our room was not ready yet, and that we should go kill some time somewhere else until it was. We then asked if we could kill some time at the pool, which they responded the pool was not open. Funny, they had no problem charging us peak pricing on our room, despite that fact. Just what you want after a long day of hanging out in the park, sit in a parking lot waiting for a second rate place to get their act together. My advice — go spend your money elsewhere.

I can't make any coverage to the hotel itself. To the restaurant and the food and service offered there, however, we have eaten really well the first time since we arrived in the USA (5 days ago). Starter, main course and dessert were attractively arranged. The quality of the individual ingredients was fine and the operation very friendly and competent! After a number of bad steaks, greasy burgers and overpriced prices, we went to bed totally satisfied tonight! The prices at the Narrow Gauge Inn are not mega cheap either, but for what you get quite acceptable … we like to come back!

We definitely enjoyed our stay. Staff was very nice and helpful, room was clean and cozy, had a great view.

I miss the lovely salads and incredible deserts. Also miss the early bird specials. The prices have gone up, but I didn't think the quality had gone up enough to justify those prices.

Very well priced, lovely rustic looking room (bathroom could probably do with some modernisation) Lovely location with a comfortable bed. The restaurant has very nice evening food, the breakfast was also good and is self serve with a selection of hot foods, cereal, yogurts, bagels and hot and cold drinks. A good location for Yosemite. There isn't much else around the hotel however there is a shop on site and a Jacuzzi and pool however we didn't take advantage of using either of these so I cannot review.

My husband and I had dinner here and was definitely not disappointed! The service was relaxed but attentive, and the food was delicious. This was the one restaurant on our 3 week trip to the US that we didn't feel rushed and was really relaxed.

We had a delicious meal at the restaurant. We didn't have reservations but there were open tables mid-week. The service was great and the food was a real treat. We'll definitely go again.

We had a fantastic experience here this weekend. The staff, Cindy, Scott, and Marlo were so friendly and helpful and they made sure our family was cozy and happy. We will definitely be returning to this clean, cozy, and friendly place again! Highly recommend :)

Lovely, quaint hotel has a atmosphere that's very relaxing set amongst trees. Staff are friendly with out of hours service available. Breakfast was great especially the potatoes and sausages. The hotel restaurant wasn't open while we stayed in March. Tea and coffee available in the room and reception. Nearest town has plenty of restaurants.

We booked our room for less than $100 and stayed for one night. For $100, you can't beat this place. The room and bathroom was a little small, but the balcony made up for it. We really enjoyed views from the balcony. The staff was very helpful and the complementary breakfast was great. Unfortunately, they only served breakfast while we were there, but they serve lunch and dinner during other parts of the year. The dining hall was awesome and the bar looked really nice. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to others.

It's a bit of a drive from either entrance of the national park but if you're looking to get away in a hidden gem, it's totally worth it. The service was incredible, the rooms were adorable and the area is simply gorgeous. The Narrow Gauge Restaurant is pricey, but there aren't many other options for food in the area. I would recommend the Inn, we had a lovely stay.

Very neat quaint place. Secluded and quiet. Restaurant had delicious food!, although a little pricey. Upper balcony room, very spacious and clean. I can hear every movement of the restaurant above us! Floor creeks as they walking around or drop things. We were headed south when we passed it and decided to stop in to see if they had any vacancies. Very nice find, and only 4 stars because I'm under the restaurant!

Great place to stay, room a little small but addiquit for 2 people with hiking gear. well kept, maid does an awesome job. only complaint would be the shower, take it when everybody else does and the water temp fluctuates bad from skin burning to ice cold in under 20 seconds. Easy to fix though just take it a little earlier. Will be staying here again though, complimentary breakfast was great! and the Dinner while a little expensive, was amazing and we ended up going back again!

We live a little over 2 hours from Yosemite and have been visiting for over 50 years. We literally stumbled on this beautiful facility, having been past guests many times at the Awahnee, the Lodge, and Wawona. Narrow Gauge Inn is truly a hidden gem. The grounds are beautiful, relaxing, well maintained, and of historical interest. The rooms are pristine and have very nice forest views. The food in the dining room, which is also spectacular, is infinitely better than any other venue in the park. The adjacent railroad museum is also of historical interest. The staff is extremely welcoming, and the entire facility reflects pride, and attention to the beautiful surroundings.

Very nice people was very happy with the restaurant my wife would love too return again soon. Got some snow in the morning WOW what a wonderful place. A well needed break from the kids. I feel like a new man. Lol.

Very beautiful! Friendly staff and good continental breakfast. Make sure to get the waffle with all the toppings.

Comfortable queen bed and sofa that converted to two single beds for the kids. A/C would have been better than two fans. Shower door didn't close securely. Good evening meal and breakfast and service in the restaurant. Hair dryer available on request, The location is perfect for access to the park and particularly Mariposa Grove. Worth a trip on the steam train at the museum just down the road.

We give it a four because the place is very cute, the staff is very friendly and we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, which was very delicious! The room is okay. We got a one bedroom balcony upstair room. The view was great if you have the center room, which we did. The balcony is small but relaxing. The bed need to be updated though. Our bed was uncomfortable sleep in. We did not get much sleep. The walls are thin. You can some time hear people and T. V. From next door.

We came here on our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. We weren't too sure about the place at first but it really grew on us. The staff were wonderfully friendly and made us feel very welcome, and waking up in our sweet little room to the sound of birdsong and the smell of pine was just perfect. It was our favourite place to stay of our whole trip and we'd love to go back someday.
