I had checked out a day earlier than my original booking due to COVID-19 — I had to make adjustments due to the constant change of travel bans in affect. Approached the staff upon departure but was advised to get back via call as she did not have an access to their system in order to process the refund of the remaining night I did not stay — the staff PROMISED the refund. And I trusted her. But when I called to follow up, they denied their claims and falsely accused me for staying throughout the original dates booked without further investigation. I was led on to believe they will honour the refund. Requested to check their CCTV as proof that I had left earlier but they were reluctant. After 2 weeks of waiting, they said there was no one at the reception at that time given. So to whom have I spoken to at the front desk? To them, it did not happen. No empathy at all. No attempt to workaround. They’ll just charge you. Think again if you really wanna book this hotel.

Just easy breezy and nice. I loved the location. Just perfect for my needs all around!

Uneventful but fun. Stayed over thanksgiving break in 2016. Saw Watsky and walked back late at night, nothing happened.

It was disgusting! I was trick when purchasing an express deal on for a three star hotel. This is a dirty motel not even worth 2! Horrible.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I was robbed while out of the room, hotel desk said she couldn’t get ahold of the manager above her except through email, the screens are out of the windows and window wide open, very violating. (“We happpen to have the only room like that”) Instead of just Checking out I got to spend my 30th birthday filling out a police report. The only positive is they refunded our money for the room.

The room was very clean updated and spacious. The location was great. Not a luxury hotel but overall was a great stay. The only bad thing was the parking it does not have enough parking space and if you cant get one you have to park in the street.

Stayed here after an event at the Academy and didn't want to drive back home so late. Rooms are modern, comfortable and clean. Had a microwave, fridge and coffee maker.

Only a brief 14 hour stay because we were attending a nearby event. The layout was simple but rooms are very close together. Seems like a renovated motel. Rooms were updated and clean. Staff was kind enough to extend our checkout a couple of hours. Good value.

This hotel is in hard of Hollywood. It's near all the great restaurants and shopping. The rooms are big, clean and "fancy" with a Hollywood wallpaper. This hotel is in secure area.

15 minutes after I checked in I was trying to relax in my room. I couldn't really relax for some reason. So I turn around in bed and one of the hotel workers, whom I assume was the manager was staring into my room through the window. I dont know how long he was staring for. He was peeping around in the room in which also had an minor. After about 30 seconds he realized I was staring back at him and walked off. I ran to the door to confront him. This made my stay very uncomfortable. I also had a do not disturb sign on my door when I left the room and when I came back it was taken down. It looked like the house keeping service had came by and replenished everything that did not need to be replenished and replaced the towels that didn't need to be replaced. They also redid the bed. They didn't throw out the trash which was the one thing that I really needed done in the room. Very disappointed in them not respecting the do not disturb sign and for also staring through the window at guest that could have been undressing.

The location is East of Tourist Hollywood, although the immediate surround is not scenic. The property has an open design creating a potential room security. My room was clean and we'll maintained. Furniture was Spartan; no reading lights.

Discreet motel, Wi-Fi doesn't work great and the air conditioning is very noisy. Friendly staff and optimal location. Nothing exceptional, but given the price in relation to the location can go.

I rented two rooms for family members and myself and we were all disappointed. I know the area isn't the best but still I was expecting more from this hotel. A couple of reviews on here stated it is more of a motel. I totally agree, we felt like we were staying in a motel. When we turned on the AC the air smelled like pee in one of the rooms we stayed in. At night in the parking lot about 12' from our door next to the restaurant that is close, we saw several roaches three different times. Granted we did not see any in the rooms, but just knowing roaches are in the vicinity was unpleasant. The sheets had stains on them in our room, I am unsure about my other family members room. There was really loud noises from the room above us at 4-5am that woke us. I'm not sure if was just some loud guest or some sort of installation or work being done. It was pretty loud. It sounded like things were being installed or renovated. You can tell it is an old hotel/motel that had been remodel. The photos of the room on he website looked great however only one room looked like the photo, the other room was smaller and older looking. It wasn't the worst hotel I've been in however everyone who stayed in the rooms in my group stated they would have definitely preferred to stay elsewhere.

The room was nothing like it was advertised. The room was filthy and things were falling apart. My husband and I took a shower and our feet turned black just from walking around the room. There was a hole in the wall, the bathroom vent was coming out of the ceiling, the toilet wobbled when you sat on it and the sink clogged. We booked a week and only stayed one night.

Perfect for our trip to concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Close, lots of restaurants and stores nearby. Great service. Big room. Clean.

Decent stay and very reasonable price. The room I had was decently up to date with newer items/furnishings/paint, but it is in an older motel driveup style. But for the lower price, there are many tradeoffs. The walls/ceilings are thin. The parking lot is cramped (but it had a parking lot at least). The mattress is a cheaper option compared to new memory foam types But, it was much cheaper than other options, which was what we were aiming for.

The rooms were updated, clean and the location is great. However, the hotel staff does zero to enforce any kind of noise policy whatsoever. There were points that people were doing burnouts right in front of the office and the staff did nothing. Kids running on the top level of the walkway and popping fireworks at 11 p. M. And still nothing. For the price you can get somewhere better.

You can tell this place tried to do some updates but there was so much still wrong. The door had a big crack underneath it and the tub had a weird chipped area. Not to mention you could hear every word someone said when they walked by don’t let the pictures fool you. They still have a long way to go.

Danny is super nice-the interior is awful. The lighting isn't adequate to put on makeup-I ask only for decent mirror lighting plus there are no lamps in the room. The flooring is vinyl which is the best and the bath enclosure is beautiful tile which is filthy. Sigh. Bed is rock hard but linens are clean. The exterior is kept nicely and the lobby newly remodeled. There is a full length mirror so that's a plus. It's just a hop to the Metro and also a Ralph's and other shopping. If I stayed again I would bring a travel light.

The lobby was cute and well-kept with good customer service. When entering our room we were greeted with an overwhelming smell of what must be cigarettes and who knows what else (in a non smoking room). At first glance the room looks clean, but looking around it's not the case. The bath tub is grungy and brown, there is a stain on the shower curtain. The shower curtain rod hasn't even had the barcodes removed and its clear its been a while since it was purchased. There are dinggs and holes on the walls throughout the room and the shutters are dirty. A light fixture with a burned out bulb is starting to come out of the ceiling. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I can't understand how this placed has so many stars. Will not stay here again.

Enjoyed my stay! Front desk clerk was very helpful, made sure that our stay was comfortable I didn't want to leave. Room was fresh and clean and the bed was the best and had no problem sleeping at night, quite peaceful. Thank you again! I would recommend the Dixie to all my friends!

A clean and decent standard of motel. The attached cafe is great for breakfast! The receptionists were all very helpful and happy to help! This place is located right next to a red line metro station, just a few stops from universal studios and a 15 minute journey downtown. It's a bit of a walk down to the other end of Hollywood boulevard, but at $1.75 a trip, the metro takes you there in no time. I'd book this place again.

The rooms aren't too bad and the place has free parking and is pretty close to the walk of fame as well as the Griffith observatory. Cleanliness could be improved (there was dust on some of the furniture). Our AC missed a knob, so we couldn't adjust it.

The only thing this place has going for it is the free parking. The room was in horrible shape upon arrival. We found a puddle in the bathroom because the sink was leaking and clogged. Looked like it had been worked on recently as there was new piping but obviously wasn't done correctly. The water pressure was something to be laughed at. It comes out so slow your better off filling up buckets over night to use in the morning when getting ready. The ac unit was missing a knob so we could not change the temperature of it. The phone had buttons missing and there was a mildew smell to top it off. This place might have been a 3 star motel in the 50's but hasn't been renovated since and wants to charge modern day prices. Steer clear of this motel unless some major renovations are done.

3.5 stars almost 4 stars, don't get me wrong the location is Perfect for Hollywood tourism but not as quiet as you would want it to be. The rooms are clean and room service is attentive. I enjoyed my stay here.

It's close to the Chinese theater and the Star Trek. It's okay to sleep.

Very comfortable Hotel, clean and most important super economic. It has a pool. Excellent location, steps from the metro station, and very close to the Star Trek in downtown Hollywood. Across the street is a supermarket, Starbucks and Ross store.

Loved this place! White suite was great. We had our own private deck under trees and surrounded by bamboo — very relaxing. Had a couple tasty (and free) IPA's from the in-suite fridge and espressos from the lobby with breakfast. You get what you pay for. Bliss.

Room is very simple and decent. Very noise outside. You can hear people next door talking. There are only couple of outlets we can use to charge our phones and electric devices, and one of them is broken.

Great location. Cozy. Currently remodeling rooms. I like it. They should wipe down the tables and mop the floors more often, but I would come here again. Get a room on the 2nd floor. If you want a wake-up-call, set the alarm clock as well.

Cute motel with a few seemingly random room doors painted with stars of bygone days. Not sure if our room was a work in progress, but it was missing more than a wall of crown molding and had some work still to be done in the bathroom. Bed was incredibly hard, but the room was very clean and the shower had great water pressure.

I stayed here twice. The first time I heard a little noise. The second time they were remodeling. The problem is I checked in about 4 Pm. The tweeker doing the remodeling did not quit until almost midnight. This is the last time I will stay here. I had to be at work at 5 AM on 4 hours sleep. Not a big fan. Also I don't think they had mopped the floor ever it was filthy.

Hotel in Hollywood Boulevard very good location, great quality price, outside parking, very good restaurant for breakfast.

It's a bit outdated, zero service quality but it's cheap. Cleanliness is regular, not because of the maid but because of the non-existent standards. It's not bad but I wouldn't go back. It has excellent location that's the best.

The rooms are very nice and modern. The location is good and there is also a Metro station nearby. Because the pool is not heated, it was very refreshing in November.

Great hotel close to Hollywood attractions! Super artsy rooms and murals on the doors which are really pretty. Price is great. Only complaint is the noise! We had construction going on near us which was rough but not the hotels fault!

We stayed in a double queen room, which was semi updated. New floors, new wooden blinds, beautiful mural of Hollywood covered one wall. Still needed painting of shelves, TV unit, etc. The bathroom was 1/2 beautiful. I'm not sure if reno is complete in the bathroom or not. Needed paint, new fan, etc. The towels were horribly thin. Beds were comfy but super cheap linens. This hotel has great potential but as it stands, this is NOT 3 STARS. I'd give it 1 1/2.

The hotel is very nice. The window in the room is too close to the cars in the parking lot and in general it was very noisy. The room is large but it looks very empty, the bed seemed the most uncomfortable of the whole trip, I slept fatal. There were no curtains and although the windows blocked something the light is not the same.

Quiet and friendly. Center of town and walking distance to shopping and Starbucks across street. No elevators. Stairs only at far ends of hall/balconies. Not so hamdicap accessible if that's a need. Sweet cleaning crew. Overall a nice stay with privacy.

Nice friendly reception. We had a Nice up to date room with a really comfortable bed. Great pool for a swim or sunbathing. Close to metro and easy walking to get around.

This hotel has a great location in Hollywood. The room was clean, the receptionist was nice and we liked the overall decoration. 4 stars on 5 because it's noisy if you have neighbors on the upper lever.

The room was clean and comfortable. Wi-Fi connection present but very slow. Guests have access to A parking lot and A small swimming pool.

Not a friendly staff NOT CLOSE TO UNIVERSAL STUDIOS prepare to drive everywhere. It does have a grocery store across the street that was nice. Pool area is very small and saw a huge rat climbing the wall staff didn't seem to care. Room had a bad smell and TV channels are very limited. Parking was the worst at night. My recommendation is to spend the extra money and stay at a better hotel.

Horrible stay, no good restaurants close by, loud fighting neighbors, construction in lobby currently, huge hole in our wall, loud fans and air conditioner, good parking… front desk staff were great but I wouldn't stay there again especially with children. Awful.

Great clean rooms and comfy beds. Only flaw is the bathtub that would be change since all ruined and peeling inside.

The hotel has unique murals painted through out also has a one in every room. The rooms are newly remodeled and colors are gorgeous. The room has all the basic necessities needed for short term travel. I would most definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Clean, roomy, close to tourist attractions, alittle pricy for an inn. Have to be in before midnight because there's not enough parking for all the guess and you will have to park on the street and be up by 7:50am, the city meters is from 8a-8p. Alot of homeless camping in bus stops and door ways. My son was concern and didnt want to be on foot after sunset. The other thing the towels are a dingy white, wasn't sure if I want to use them.

Very very very clean and put together. Not ur typical sleezy skanky motel what's so ever This is top of the line for a cheap skanky motel. Keep up the good work.

Sorry but dont bother with this hotel. By far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Better off paying a little more and staying closer towards hollywood/walk of fame. Outdated and needs work to be worthy of 3 stars let alone 1. A/c and bathroom fan rattled like a jet plane and very noisy between rooms. And the road. Bed was old and hard. Pillows looked about 10+ years old and unwashed. Pool looked ok drink machine didnt work. 40min walk to walk of fame and other attractions. Keycards stopped working for over a day meaning we had to ask everytime we wantws to get into our room.

Really nothing to say except that everything was top, very good professionalism on the part of all employees and especially the receptionist who Celina with her ​​kindness to us for help during our stay in The Dixie. Do not hesitate to book this motel. Thank you for everything.

I stayed here for 4 nights. For my purposes it was acceptable because I came to LA to see all of the tourist attractions. I was out most of the day and was barely in the room. The red line is down the block from the hotel, (Hollywood/Western station) so that was pretty convenient to take. It is two stops from the Hollywood Walk of Fame and places that were a little harder to get to by the metro I took uber pool which was very convenient and not expensive at all, especially if you are traveling with a friend and splitting the fare. However, had this been a vacation where I was spending significant time at the hotel or had children with me I wouldn't have been thrilled. I did read the reviews about roaches and bed bugs which had me a little nervous but thankfully I had no issues with that. The furniture is worn and one of the chairs was stained. The air conditioner was old and didn't work that well but we didn't really need it for the time we were there. The bed was comfortable and clean but the pillow cases looked old and frayed. The bathroom wasn't bad but the tub was chipped. I thought the shower was acceptable. It does need updating and more maintenance but for someone who isn't planning on spending a lot of time in the room, traveling without a family, and is on a budget it is okay.

The Hotel is located on the main street of HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD; walk it takes until you reach the teatro Kodak, the walk of Fame and other sites more animated own street about 30-35 min.
Just in front of the hotel there is a "Ralphs" supermarket where you can make daily food purchases. And also other stores where to buy more things (clothing, etc).
The Metro is located 2 min in the corner.
It seems that it was clean.
This hotel is if you think you get by car on the other side, and want to sleep in the middle.
It has parking for customers.
And this just a few minutes from there to the Park theme; "UNIVERSAL, ETC… ".
AH! ALL Los Angeles there are a lot of jam in the schedules in and out of the office; "" "Is HORRIBLEEE, have MUCHISIIMAA PACIENCIAA" "", and count on it if you need to go to the airport, so do not miss the flight.
I think that you can get to hate LOS ANGELES by those jams have; and that I'm from Madrid and jams here compared with those tiny ones. (When it was 3 hours of traffic jam there in L. A. A madrid jam; was willing to fuck Acojonante is!

The "hotel" is quite a distance from any of the Hollywood tourist attractions, especially if you're not driving. Upon arriving, it seems decent enough. A friendly receptionist and open lobby greeted us. Parked the car, went into the room, and it was pretty spacious with a TV on the wall and 2 Queen beds to the side. The flooring was obviously wood laminate, and fairly dinged up. The room looked recently renovated with painted walls and a nice shelving area. The bathroom looked pretty standard, but the shower curtain needed help. It was one of the curved bars, but it had sagged so much, that the curtain wouldn't stay closed, which caused a lot of water to get on the floor. After the showers were done, all the towels and washcloths in the room were used to sop up the water, and that still wasn't enough. I'd stay again if there was no other affordable choice in the area.

I liked that there was a Ross on the other side of the street.

Not bad for a last minute booking. Decent price. Easy parking lot access. Clean rooms. Nice friendly service. Pet friendly. Walls are thin but not to bad if your not picky. Microwave & fridge available. Great housekeeping service very quick and responsive. Across from many stores and nice walking area.

Fantastic room and amenities. Ample parking and a responsive staff. The walls are thin, though, and a reasonably boisterous conversation will for sure annoy people in other rooms — we received a noise complaint at 9:30 P. M. Holding a pretty typical pre-night out tone. All in all a solid place, just requires being a bit more aware about the decibel level. Would return!

This hotel describes itself as a three star, but I would be hard pressed to describe it as a 1 star. It was very expensive place to stay in. The photos on the website must have been taken some time ago as the room we stayed in did not reflect them. The walls were paper thin we could hear telephone conversations of the people next door. The staff were more interested in playing with their mobile phones that assisting us. The laundry room was broken on day one, we were told it would be fixed by day two, but it wasn't. The bed was lumpy and the plastic was still on the mattress under the sheet, paint coming off the walls. The wooden floor was filthy and if you put the air con it sounded like a jumbo jet landing. You could not have it on and sleep. Even the coffee machine they gave you the wrong type bag for. I was extremely disappointed as it had looked a good hotel from the web site.

Good budget hotel. It has clean rooms, cable tv, fridge, microwave, pet friendly, free parking and walking distance to the red line subway. Neighborhood is typical of the Hollywood area, streets a little dirty but safe.

Great location in Hollywood. The Ralph's and Ross over the street make it great for food/clothes. Right next to metro as well. Rooms are really good too and serve their purpose. Wi-Fi is fast.

For the money the Dixie can't be beat. Great location if you want to be in and around Hollywood. Being at the edge of Thai-town there are tons of great little spots to eat within walking distance. I would stay there again.

This hotel has roaches! and bad! I told athe front desk and they changed my room. That's where the Roaches showed up again! That's just NASTY! The sheets had hair on them. Don't waste your money! And save your cleanliness. Don't take roaches home in your luggage!

Lovely staff. Clean, large room with nice small pool. Tv with many channel closet and fridge. Bathroom large enough and cleaned daily if wanted. Little cafe next door which is to die for, must try at least once.

I'm gonna tell you that this is the best hotel that you can stay in on a budget. Of course there will be people with picky reviews, but if you have no room to pick at small things like a bug on the wall, then this will be the perfect place to stay. I stayed in November with my mother and sister and had a really nice experience. We had a couple of noisy party animals for neighbors, as well as some shady characters but for the most part they left us unbothered. Really nice location. Less than a mile away from the subway so you have access to get all around Los Angeles and a nice diner right next to the place, too. You can practically walk to most of the tourist destinations in Hollywood from here. Not to mention the way it's decorated. Lots of scenery inside and outside of the room, which is something that I eat up when I go to any place. So if you like that kind of thing, stay here.

Love the location (literally 1 minute walking from Hollywood Western metro station, and 1 station away from the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame), speedy check in (we got our key in less than 5 minutes), all rooms are smoke-free, spacey room with very complete facilities (tv, microwave, fridge, iron+board, hair dryer, multiple plugs). Why not 5 star: the bed + pillows + bedsheets are not the most comfortable, and walls are thin (you can hear cars passing by).

My feelings are the same as hang ho. No difference in the noise. My shower curtain is cheap plastic, mold on the ceiling, painted murals are all knicked up,, pillows are lumpy, no fitted sheets on the beds they keep coming loose, cracks in the tiles throughout the bathroom floor and lastly the air conditioning on works when it wants to. Oh and to ad about shower curtain the rod is barely hanging up. Front desk clerk upon checking in had a little attitude not the friendly smile and welcome mat attitude that I am used to for a costly below average hotel. Its ashame to for how the hotel started with the three sister to two sister biography that they impose foe the public to read. If the sisters still own it they should look into the management and overall rooms they are SO PROUDLY to rent.

The location is great, but the quality definitely didn't live up to my idea of a 3-star hotel. I could hear everything through the walls of the room, including cars driving past on Hollywood Blvd and drunk guests laughing and talking at 3am in front of my door. I'm a pretty sound sleeper and usually don't have trouble getting a decent night's sleep in cheap hotels, but I really couldn't get much rest that night. It sounded like I was sleeping out on the sidewalk on Hollywood Blvd, not inside of a hotel room that cost me over $100. On top of that, the pillows were lumpy, the hair dryer didn't work, and the shower curtain was this cheap plastic thing that was too short to keep the water from getting out of the tub and had mold all over it. Don't think I'd stay here again if given a choice.

To stay in this hotel Was an amazing experience. For make your trip in car or public transport, the place is excellent. The comfort and breakfast were great! Thank you.

Place was nice everything was ok until the next morning. I was there visiting a friend who had got a room there;. We were in a rush to check out and leave that I didnt realize that I left my wallet. Of course they " didnt find it ". I pretty much begged and cried saying that they can keep my wallet and even my cash just please give me my i. D so that I can work and I wont say anything. I know it had to be there because after checking out I went home and went back to sleep.

At first the neighborhood looked a bit scary but my mom and I decided tostay the first night of 4 to see how it went. Don't regret staying at all, the staff was excellent! Very attentive and courteous. The room was spacious, excellent rate and extremely convienient. Would definetely stay there again, thank you staff for making my stay enjoyable. :).

Loved this hotel, good service, clean and the location is good (right on hollywood blvd) and about 15 min from Los Angeles. Theres a pool and Wi-Fi plus pets are allowed! Which is hard to find a good hotel who accepts pets and its not ghetto. The metro is located right next to the hotel and I'm definitely coming back to this hotel next time we are coming to this area.
