My fiancé and I stayed at Inn of Long beach for 3 nights and everything was great. We had access to a lot of close by stores especially Vons. Walking distance from the beach and aquarium, but the one thing I didn’t like about the hotel was maintenance. It was really dusty in some areas of the room other than that we got the new updated room with a mini fridge.

I wish I could give more stars & say nicer comments. Our room was clean & newly remodeled. Bed was seriously hard & FLAT pillows. The building is in rough old shape. Dripping rust/stains on white stucco. The ocean air has not been kind. Wobbly/crooked hallways. No elevator for suitcases. Very, very low end exterior but again, very nice room!

When we first entered the room it smelled like fish, so we instantly ran to the store for some febreeze. The room also looked nothing like the photos online, the bedding was from the 80s, The tube TV was from the 90s, the only chair was broken & the ice bucket looked like a country crock butter container. When we would shower it wouldn't drain, I was worried it was going to over flow everytime. We ran out of towels, went to the office to get more & all he gave us was a bath mat and a washcloth. I had to dry off with a washcloth. He said the house keepers are their own separate thing & they didn't leave him any towels… Not true, I've worked in hotels for over 5 years, don't place the blame on someone else when you can just walk down to the laundry and grab some more. Oh and there's A LOT of very aggressive homeless people around this hotel. We were followed to our room one night by 2 of them, they asked if we had a sweatshirt they could borrow. There was also a garbage can right outside our bedroom door, that homeless people were always digging in. I would never stay here again, and please do not stay here either.

I love staying there and the room are really nice the staff are nice and respectful and the housekeeper they make sure that they have clean towels and there price is good I stay there again and again.

First impression was wow it looks new but has that mechanics garage smell. So I start off with the cons. Hard bed, two small cheap pillows, and dirty hardwood. Pros are friendly staff, flat screen tv, mini fridge and it looks nice, right next to the pool! Overall I would come back if its just for a night.

Amazing service, great location, great rooms its walking distance from long beach. The market is across the street. The rooms are clean and nice. The pools great for the kids.

Very friendly staff, recently updated rooms, good AC unit, has a pool and hot tub, in room fridge, microwave in lobby, within walking distance of convention center, many restaurants, a Vons and the famous Roscoe's Chicken And Waffles. My keys stopped working frequently, Thin walls, beds a tad hard/springy (only a problem of you prefer a soft bed), front parking lot is very tight (not a problem in the back parking lot). Overall I would stay here again and would recommend to a friend.

First impressions were good. The room was decent until around 2 am in the morning when I found 2 bedbugs. Room 110. I go down to talk to one of the owners and was promised 2 free nights. Which didn't end up happening. Instead got woken up at 7am because they "couldn't find my car" I'm not even joking. 2 of the owners are delusional This place is a joke, Good luck!

Fantastic customer service! 100% awesome experience. Rooms are new and renovated don’t let the outside fool you! You can’t always judge a book by its over!

The staff David, Carly and Ken r one of a kind. Upgrading is going on so I would recommend it. Close to everything. Leave ur car parked! Walking distance to everything. Food, drinks and of course the RACE. Enjoy!

I was a bit skeptical of this place at first, but it turned out to be pretty good. They are going thorough remodeling, so the looks of this place were deceiving. The room I was in smelled like a brand new car not smoke or funky smell. Everything was new from the tub, sink, beds, dresser, TV etc. There was a view of the pool from the back door. No windows in the front which wasn't a big deal. Great price and fair. The staff was very friendly and professional. There is a restaurant with a bar across the street from there, which got a bit loud and annoying in the late night. It was exactly in the area that I wanted, a grocery store across the other street, and plenty of shops. It's also 2 blocks from Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles, which was amazing. The con's to this place was, there was no fridge or microwave, maybe the lack of a front window (if you care) and the ice machine was in the office area. Other than that I would recommend it to anyone. Oh yeah, no roaches like the Motel 6 we stayed at on Pacific coast highway last year. That was a BIG plus for me!

I left a review before about this place and gave 3 stars… Now, a couple years later 3-05-2018, 5 stars! The staff is very nice… The rooms… Holy smokes! They are doing renovations, much much better! Another plus, Vons is right across the street, and is open till midnight… Changes are good! I WILL be back! ♨️

Rooms are getting remodeled. A much neded detail! That already have new mattress es and a beautiful pool view.

Rooms looked clean until you would start moving things around. There would be trash behind the dressers and night stands. TV or AC wouldn't work correctly. Ppl working there where friendly.

Good pricing. The rooms are'nt the best as far as quality but they are clean and big. I love how there is a pool and jacuzzi. Stayed here several times and always enjoyed myself.

It's about what you would expect for the price. It's a bit run down, and there are sometimes odd people loitering around. However, it gets the job done, and the location is great. The staff has always been wonderful as well.

It is a not pleasant view. The rooms have carpet from 1950. The beds had stains on them. The two sets of doors didn't close well. I didn't have a chance to enjoy the pool because the general public could get in there because the gate to enter was broken and wouldn't close. The bathroom had so much mold in it.

Great location and friendly staff. I love that they have a pool and jacuzzi in an affordable hotel. Each room leads to either a patio or balcony which faces the pool. The rooms could definitely use a warming upgrade though. They're not "dirty" but they don't "feel clean" if you know what I mean. I think part of it is that they are pretty outdated and the colors are kind of dark, but the stay was great regardless. Can't beat the price and location.

The motel is not bad, nice location. Very close to ocean, big market and restaurants right across the road.

This place is great if you want to teach your kids what happens if they get on crack and want to live on the street. Its a toilet. Pay The money and stay in a real hotel, WE DID. Too shady to take your family to for even one night.

Trashy area, trashy facility. The $100 you'll save staying here you'll make up for in lost property, threat to your family, and lost sense of security. It's been dubbed the "crack hotel" We didn't even stay, left down the street to the Marriott and realized what the savings lacked.

For that price range I clearly did not have high expectations but this place is a hell hole. As of Aug 2017, Inn of Long Beach is full of BED BUGS and is extremely DIRTY (dust on carpet, worn-out furniture, filthy restroom etc etc), plus the customer service leaves MUCH to be desired. We discovered bed bugs at around 11:00 pm and asked for a refund immediately — — only after we waited for 3+ hours for the manager we were able to convince him to issue a refund. By the time we got the refund, it was around 2:00 am and I asked the manager to provide us an accommodation at another hotel (which I believe they are required to do by law) but he refused (I have that recorded). In a word, we had a LOT of trouble at that place and I would strongly suggest avoiding it. This place ruined my whole trip.

The staff are kind and this Inn is nicer than some. It also has TV channels, a pool, and a Jacuzzi.

Had to stay here when my apartment was infested with fleas. I ended up going back to my flea filled apartment rather than to stay at this hotel! Bed bugs all over both beds, stains on the bathroom towels, and roaches running by the pool! Disgusting. My mom had a bed bug on her after sleeping in the bed. Stay anywhere else!

Appreciated the hospitality we were given by the team. John and his crew went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. Yes is a little shabbier than sheek, but their personalities far make up for it!

Do not stay here the rooms smell like mold the bed sheets in bed had hair all over. The floors were extremely stained and dirty even the chairs were stained and not even wiped down and the windows in the most disgusting Windows you've ever seen not counting the 1980s out-of-date TV in the bathroom look like horror movie mold and dirt all over it definitely not worth your money you're better off sleeping in your car and we stayed here because we had no choice but never again.

They have nice prices and the staff are very friendly. There is a super market very close by and as well of inexpensive restaurants. Very nice location if you want to be close to the beach and a walking distance from the long beach train station.

Despite being a smaller Motel, I found the front desk staff to be more accommodating and professional than even the high-end hotels.

What a cute little hotel in the middle of Long Beach! Definitely met the expectation of a 'boutique hotel! ' The room was small, but the space was well utilized and met all our needs. The hotel is located within walking distance of many pubs and restaurants and the harbor is just down the street.

I should rate the places I stay more since I'm in a new room almost daily. This room at the Inn of Long Beach, gets 5 stars from me. I stayed last night, they accommodated my huge moving truck in the parking lot, allowed my pet to stay with me for free, gave me a room close to the stairs, that was clean and had fresh linens. The fridge, tv, cable box etc. Worked great! Bed was comfy, Air conditioner was awesome! Balcony was open with a feeling of privacy. This is one of the best rooms I've ever had for under $100! It's a unique motel with its old school charm and very friendly staff! I have saved this one to my favorites and will be staying here for a week when I come back on vacation. Thanks for a great night!

Purpose of stay: We just wanted to chill out before our Carnival cruise. Review: You wanted the Marriot or the Hilton? Those are around the block. You want room service or a concierge? Go somewhere else. A clean pool & jacuzzi for the kids to jump, swim, splash, cavort & play in? Yea, it's here. Need a grocery store, cafe & pharmacy next door for all your travel and food needs? Von's (Safeway) is across the street. Want to walk around Long Beach Promenade shopping areas and catch evening popup rock shows? Yup, this is where it's at. Wifi & cell signal was hit & miss in various parts of the room because of the dense concrete style of building. Who cares… get off your phone! It's not high on the classy & modern comforts, more like, retro 60's and basic but whatever, you'll be roaming the streets & beaches, lounging in the pool & jacuzzi anyways! Bathrooms could be cleaner, beds comfier, carpets newer, box TV's that aren't from the 80's, however, for all those upgrades you can go to the numerous $200+ hotels nearby.

Horrible. They fail to inform you before you pay, that their free Wi-Fi doesn't work. Considering I need Wi-Fi to turn in my work for the day I had to go somewhere els to do so. Place is filthy. Definitely shouldn't be paying $102. Maybe $50. So if you're reading these reviews to decide whether or not to stay here, don't. Toilet was filthy, thick dust on top of the mirrors and picture frames. Carpet is disgusting and looks like they half ass vacuuming or don't at all. Asked for a non smoking room and given a smoking room. Asked for 1 bed and given 2. Not a big deal besides the smoking room but I guess listening skills are not required to work the front desk. Walls are absolutely filthy and disgusting. Holes in the walls and you can see everywhere they obviously attempted to mud but was never sanded to blend in with the wall. My shower towels had a long black hair hanging from them. I never do reviews unless I have something positive to say but I hope to save people from staying here. I travel for work so I stay in a lot of hotels. This is probably the most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed in. Smoke detector doesn't work. Battery is obviously dead and not changed and it wasn't even on all the way. No security latch on the door, so someone can just help themselves into the room if they wanted to. I also have to put my key in the door to shut it when I leave cause the door won't shut without doing that.

The service was great but the place itself looks like a great place to be in the 70s. Not now. The walls are cracked and the walls in the bathroom are too. And the sound travels through everything. If you want a hotel that you can sleep at night, this place will do the job. In short. It's adequate or just below. Don't expect anything fancy but also don't expect commodities like a clean profesional environment, expect a place that you want to get in and out as fast as possible.

Went to visit a friend in Long Beach and stayed here… the worst hotel… EVER. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were dated. When I got in town I went to sleep only to wake up and see a bed bug crawling on the sheets and the next morning I seen a bug on the pillow. Doesn't matter how cheap this place is I wouldn't stay here again.

Drove in from San Francisco, checked in at 2am and laughed at how old, grimy and outdated it was… got "comfy" in the lumpy beds only to notice a bed bug crawling on the sheets! Absolutely disgusting! Do not stay here!

STAY AWAY! Bed Bugs! I stayed there for two night (10/02/2015—10/03/2015) and it was the worst experience I ever had. Till Today a month later and I still have bed bug bite scars on my arm and I have not heard back from the hotel. After the first night of staying there I noticed that I was itchy, but I just thought that it was mosquitos or something. It wasn’t until after the second night on Sunday when we were on our way home to phoenix when my girlfriend had brought up the fact that she had been bitten as well. We did some research on our way home and it turned out to be bed bug bites. The next day I called the hotel and spoke with the manager about what had happened. He stated that he was busy, but that we would give me a call on the next business. Two days went by and I didn’t hear anything back so called again. The second time I called him he said that he was going to have room service inspect the room and he would give me a call on the next business day which he didn’t. Since I didn’t hear anything back I had to call back. When I got a hold of manager, he stated that he could knock off $30 dollars of my next day. I told him thanks but no thanks because I would no longer stay there. I asked if I could get a refund and he stated that he would get back to me within two days. It has been a month and I have not heard anything back.

My business booked the wrong dates at another hotel in Long Beach (had me checking in the next day) and since everything was full due to a conference I was attending I found myself on the street. I walked around asking other hotels for vacancies until I found the Inn at Long Beach. They had one room so I took it in desperation. It was a smoking room… OMG did it stink! After a couple of hours with the A/C running the smell was bearable. Thank God for whiskey! The ice maker didn't work so I went to the front desk where the fellow showed me how to bang on the ice maker just right to get it going. The pool is pretty nice and the pool water was clear. The bathroom in my room was God awful. Missing pieces on the flooring, holes in one wall, tub surround coming off the wall. I'm giving this place 2 starts because the fellow at the office was so incredibly nice and helpful. I'd highly recommend not bringing your significant other to this place. It's right out of a horror show.

Yeah its a little outdated but It really was not bad at all. The staff is great. The lady that was working mornings when me and my family stayed was awesome. Telling us where to check out locally on our vacation. The rooms weren't that bad. And the pool is pretty awesome. Very very conveniently placed. We stayed on 8/27 and are checking out today 8/30. You get what you pay for, but again, it's not too bad.

Just stayed there on july 2 2015 and had a huge bed bug problem. Had to move rooms and still bed bugs. Worst experience ever.

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms are small and it smells terrible. There is no lobby and guess what once you check out you cannot sit and wait inside for more than 30 minutes. After I checked out I was waiting for the shuttle to pick me up and wanted to use the restroom. They said to go across the street to Vons supermarket. As a guest I could not even use a restroom after checking out. I would never ever stay in this so called Inn ever again. I hope others know in advance what they are getting into. The area is a very desirable and good area with lots of other hotels. It was $100.00 for a room so it was not cheap. The room should not have been more than $50.00 considering their service and attitude of the front desk.
