Check in was great. The clerk placed me in a nice room that I have stayed in before. The room was very clean. My complaint is that the white tub finish is worn through to the brown base layer. The worn patch is about two feet by one foot. I mentioned it last year and there is still no change. Also the ventilation system in the bathroom is not moving enough air. Without these problems I would have given a higher rating. The front office staff at night was a 10 but the morning staff was a 7

I will NEVER stay at this Motel 6 again and now I don't want to stay at ANY Motel 6. The person upstairs from me was… the only way to describe it… was moving beds and tables to door then back all night. Finally at 2:30 am I got Night Manager to stand in my doorway. Within 1 minute he heard furniture scraping against floor and jumped it was so loud. He informed me the Motel 6 was full and there was no room to move me to… He said he was going upstairs to stop the person from scraping furniture on floor, but it never stopped. On top of that I had 2 couples in room adjacent to where my bed was and they "partied" till 1 am. When I checked out I told Mac I had not slept at all. I had to drive 2 hours to get home and I was falling asleep on freeway. It was awful. I cancelled charge on my credit card after 9 days of trying to settle with manager named mac. I even offered to pay one-half the price, but he only informed me I was not allowed to cancel charge then never returned call as he said he would talk to upper management about half the rate. It was so much more than "noise. " the manager also told me they are not permitted to say "no" to mentally disturbed people who want to check in. The issue was brought to management and there was no resolution all night. I will not pay to be tortured; which is what this stay was. I will stay at motel 6 in ukiah, ca on state street. That one is great.

Motel 6 is The Common Man's avenue to travel inexpensively and land in a reasonably clean room at a fair price. My stay at Costa Mesa, Calif was an unexpected large, quiet, clean room at a great price. Mo helped my stay be comfortable, and one of his fellow crew even reimbused my money on the outside vendors empty soda machine. All ann all a great Motel 6 experience close to good food & shopping. Definitely returning and asking for that particular room. :)

The staff at the reception were very friendly.

I received ‘outstanding service’ at Motel 6 in Newport Beach. I was warmly greeted by Mac, the General Manager on my first day. He was friendly and sincere, and took the time to make certain all my needs would be met. Every staff member with whom I came in contact was attentive and kind. The room is beautiful, clean and spacious. There is plenty of parking and it’s located near some great stores. Mac has put together a stellar, high-performing team that is motivated to providing excellent guest service. You’ll enjoy every minute of your stay.

One of the best rooms for the price. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I`d definitely stay here again. One thing I`d like to suggest is It could be improved with breakfast, because there is not a lot of breakfast places nearby (there is one mexican at walking distance though).

Uncomfortable bed and noisy surroundings. The walls are paper thin and you can hear anyone in the hallway like they are in your room. Same for the people chatting or having TV on in the next room. Cleaning of room left to be desired. Bed was made up properly but sweeping was definitely not. Helpful front desk people and some not particularly friendly.

Beautiful modern rooms. Newly remodeled. Weird front desk staff… grouchy. Great overall experience.

We had a horrible experience. And corporate just doesn’t care. Motel 6 is and will continue being trash. The first day we left for the day with the do not disturb sign on the door. Then came home and realized housekeeping entered and cleaned the room anyway. The next morning we had just taken a shower and were walking around naked about to get dressed. The housekeeper, again, without even knocking and ignoring the do not disturb sign entered the room again. After complaining to corporate they just referred me to the property. The property acted as if this is normal for them and they could careless. We have now called the bank to get a refund. Screw Motel 6. I felt completely violated.

The accommodations and service were first rate. Don't like the "coffee machine" they provide at the front office since it only dispenses instant coffee. The grounds need a good washing down. Cable is not connected to the Motel 6 40 station national system so you have a full range of cable stations. Most importantly, the Wi-Fi runs at 35 mps and is included in the room rate, which is 35 times faster than the Motel 6 national Wi-Fi set up that costs a minimum $3.99 per night.

Rooms are big and with comfortable beds. Great water pressure in the shower. Shower could use new showerhead. Had a great time in the hot tube. Close to freeways and shopping.

Good prices and good amenities. Since it's been remodeled it is very nice. Much nicer than the other motels and inns in the area.

Way over priced for how filthy the room was when we checked in. Hair on the toilet seat and in the shower as well as on the bathroom wall. The sink looked like someone had just shaved and didn't even attempt to rinse it out. There was no microwave, no mini fridge, no coffee pot and not even an alarm clock. I was out walking my dog while my daughter went to pay for another night as we got stuck there and I noticed a housekeeper knocking on my door (to check if we were staying or leaving) I yelled out to her that that was my room as I started walking towards her. She knocked again so I again told her, "that's my room, we are staying one more night, we don't need anything". She looked right at me but decided to open the door and snoop around anyways. Very unprofessional. If you can't speak or understand enough English to know the basics of what someone is trying to tell you, you don't need to be in customer service. Then when I asked her to open the door again for me (as my daughter had the keys at the front desk and I'm an old man who needed to sit down) she told me no she couldn't do that. But she could take my word that it was my room and I was staying another night? Worst Motel 6 ever.

Staff is friendly and accommodating. Always makes sure you have what you need. Rooms are clean and quiet. Best motel we have stayed at in a long time. And decent prices.

Beds were terribly hard. Hot pool was not working, staff got it working, but it was not hot at all. No where to hang a hand towel. Room looked nice & clean. A great pizza shop next door.

Great staff. Problems are resolved quickly.

Company paid for multiple rooms for 4 nights, our staff was met by a hostile front desk rep. "Mo" who instead of attempting to assist us with check-in decided the appropriate response was to hand us a 1-800 # and send us on our way. The number we called was closed and we had to work out who to contact to resolve the reservation. When we finally reached corporate they told us this was a separately owned franchise and they could be of no assistance, "Mo" essentially gave us the # to chase our tails. We left, withdrew our own reservation and will not be using their lodging in the future and advise anyone else looking for basic customer service to take your business somewhere with professionalism in hospitality.

This is privately owned and not corporate. It is owned and run by Indian family that clearly has roots from another country. Surprisingly they are all very rude. Mo is the owner/manager extremely disrespectful. They do not follow the motel 6 policies of corporate locations. They give a early check out of 11 am. The owner Mo and all employees are extremely rude and if you ask to inspect room before taking it and request a different room they get nasty. Its suppose to be non-smoking however people smoke in the rooms sometimes. One of worst experiences ever staying here. They will only give you till 12 pm to checkout if you are lucky to even get that. It can be loud and sometimes 4 people will be in a room and nothing is done about it. They truly do not care about you as a customer I don’t know how they have stayed in business.

I appreciated the non-smoking room and ability to walk to a market that had organic food. I felt relatively safe in the neighborhood during daylight hours. I would have preferred Wi-Fi that was 'secure' rather than just password protected but not locked. You might look into this. I think you might consider offering a choice of a slightly larger bath towel as the ones provided would not have been adequate for anyone larger than 5' 6" 140 lbs. Note: I put Kombucha drinks in the refrigerator and noticed that there was quite a bit of water at the bottom of the refrigerator a few hours after that.

Always been happy here. Employee's are great and location and accommodations are very good for the price. Have stayed here several times. Like that it is a motel 6 that has a fridge and microwave in the rooms, free Wi-Fi, king size beds, and a pool and hot tub. Definitely a better motel 6 than most.

Very clean and very good service.

Everything was great. Check in was fast and easy. Man at the front desk was very nice. Our room was clean and looked to be refurbished with wood or laminate floors instead of carpet. When I dropped off my keys at the front desk the next morning, a different man was at the desk, and he was also very nice, pointing out the available coffee in the lobby. We only stayed one night, but it was a good experience.

Considering the price, I would recommend this motel to any of my friends. I really like the wood floor as it's much cleaner than wondering who's been walking around on carpet. The TV was a modern flat screen and you absolutely can't beat the location. I could see walking to many of the shopping or restaurants and just a short drive to the beach and pier. I've stayed here multiple times so go for it!

Our stay over exceeded our expectations. From the time we checked in with professional and friendly greetings to an upgraded room, being available, was so appreciated. The room was large and love the cleanliness. We like the "new" clean lines and simplicity of the decor. We felt safe and secure. The location was perfect for our travels. We will be staying here again on our next visit to Orange County. Best value for the area.

Front desk service was excellent. Everyone every friendly and helpful. Even upgraded our rooms. The rooms were nice but lacked a few things. The bathroom in one of our rooms did not have an electrical outlet in it (Room 333). The other room did (Room 335). Also, Kleenex would be nice in the bathrooms. Overall we enjoyed the room. Very clean.

I've stayed here multiple times as a service member in transit. I am always impressed with the lobby sign stating a discount for the military. The staff is tremendously accommodating, friendly and professional… and the roomS reflect the same new continuity standard Motel 6 has implemented across their chain! Thanks for "leaving the light on" for me! Two thumbs up!

If I could give this place a zero star review I would. From the moment I walked in the man at the front desk, Mo, was incredibly rude. After dealing with him we were greeted with incredibly limited parking and balconies that were falling apart. When we walked into the room it only got worse. There was hair everywhere. Hair on towels, hair in the bathroom, even what looked like pubic hair on the ceiling in the shower. Not only that but there seems to be a bed bug infestation. I have these bug bites all over my body after staying at this motel. When we did go to check out the front desk person was gone with a sign that said “be back in a few minutes” and an hour later he showed up. Probably the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel and I will be contacting corporate about this. I just wanted to give everyone a fair warning of what they were getting into when staying here.

Room was larger than expected and very clean. Loved the fridge and microwave — wish this had been clearer when booked — had to call to find out. Happy to have them. The environment is very stark — no effort to soften with planters or anything. Just walkways, rooms and parking. Lots of restaurants and even a grocery store within easy walking. Basic, clean, but not cheap in summer high season.

Overall, the stay was good. The room was clean, AC worked great, good choice of TV channels. The location was questionable and I would not go out after dark. There was an excellent donut shop just couple blocks away for excellent coffee and choice of bagels, donuts and breakfast sandwiches. I did however wish there had been an electrical outlet in the bathroom for drying my hair. No mirror neat a plug in.

I come here for a 5 day business, prices are reasonable. Rooms are super clean and spacious. Extra parking available. Housekeeping is good, friendly helpful staff always. Never an issue during my stay! I'd recommend this location for anyone.

Me and family like staying at this Motel 6 when we visit Costa Mesa. we like it because it feels safe and love the clean look of the modern rooms. We give it a 3 star rating but could easily be a 4 or 5 star stay. if you wipe off the walls in the room more often we had what I think was blood in the bathroom walls and dust on the wall near our bed also newer towel. The current towels feel really rough.

Our Motel 6 stay couldn't have been better. Our bed was very comfortable. The small microwave and refrigerator was so convenient for our snacks. The room's placement for us was great and I truly enjoyed the parking lot which kept our car from getting hot. A couple respectful items: The swimming pool was closed in time for a good nights sleep and our hot water was just what the manager told us. Thank you very much for our very pleasant visit.

Rooms a very small Motel 6 Newport Beach has a small outdoor pool and a spa tub. Internet access is complimentary. Staff is not very friendly but I guess they are busy with the many bums roaming there. Parking is not that easy and limited to one car per room. My room was facing the fw 55 so very noisy.

We are enjoying our stay here. We haven't had any problems since we have been here. Yes the staff is a little looky-loo but it's not that bad I've seen worse. I will stay here again definitely. And shout out to mo front desk clerk your cool man. Alright im out.

Very bad service liton was extremely rude and I would really like my money back. Drug addict's everywhere dog poo the rooms looked like something from Mexican horror story! Don't go there.

Motel 6 is definitely worth of money paid. It is very clean and neat. Whenever I am traveling and if I have an option, Motel 6 would be my first choice to stay since it provides much cleaner place and better room condition for the money paid. As a matter of fact, other motels were more expensive for quality of facility. Stay better place for less money. Great new rooms. Modern styling. Great service by front desk attendant. Free Wi-Fi Not against the hotel but we did have some yelling people in the hallway one night at 1am. Otherwise flawless stay.

We have stayed here a few times now. The rooms are always clean. The staff has always been friendly. Our fur babies are welcomed with open arms, free of charge I might add. Plus the location cannot be beat! We will continue staying here when we visit this area.

This Motel 6 has been updated. It is very clean. The photos actually are accurate. If you need a place to rest your head with clean sheets and towels and without having to wear your shoes to walk across the floor, this is the place to be. Clean and accommodating for your basic needs. Our Wi-Fi didn't work, but we weren't in the room that long to spend much time trying to figure it out. A maid did walk in without knocking first… she was very apologetic. No harm, no foul.

I loved the new look of the hotel… the furniture and the property is very nice and area is very safe. I walked all over. My dogs were comfortable and dog park was only 1.5 miles away and we walked there and back. I'll be back.

Best motel 6 I've stayed at yet. The rooms are spacious compared to others and everything is clean. They also have large king beds in the single rooms. I've stayed here numerous times for business and the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Most of the time they'll do an early check in too, which is convenient if needed. There's another motel 6 not too far from this one, but I would recommend this one instead.

One of the cleanest properties I have encountered in the motel 6 chain. Front desk staff were very responsive and clearly want to make a good impression on guests. Check-in was quick and easy. The room was spacious for a motel 6 and the bed was comfortable. We had a room with a King bed. This is a remodeled property so it has the faux hardwood floors which means the room didn't smell like musty carpet. Nice! Announced to the office staff that we had pets with us, which is why we chose motel 6 in the first place. Both manager and desk clerk took it in stride. Great location too. All in all a very nice experience all the way around. Normally I wouldn't recommend Motel 6 unless the nightly rate is your biggest concern; however, this property is not bad. I'll stay again with or without pets.

I am Robert from the previous review, just wanted to say what really happened as this lady is out of her mind. She called the front desk asking for a voucher (for a free room) for a vulgar call she says she received. Keep in mind this is 4 hours after the alleged call took place. No call from the front desk to her room was in the system, and this was verified by management and corporate. If she did receive a call, it could be from any room in the hotel, and it would most likely be a prank call. She refused to check out and at 1 o clock, I called the police because it was 2 hours after check out time, and she was making rude, sexual remarks towards me. I normally wouldn't even merit something like this with a response but I work extremely hard to make sure guests are satisfied with their stay at Motel 6 and the allegations she made are nothing to joke around about. Honestly, it's disgusting. I've put up with a lot in the Hotel industry but this is probably the most vile thing I've had happen in 2 years working in hotels. Sorry, just had to rant. Thanks!

Cold night and we were dissatisfied with non-operative heater, Staff did nothing to remedy problem. We usually use Motel 6 for half our travel accomodations.

First off. This place is NOT in "Newport Beach", it's on "Newport Blvd. " and used to be a old drug dealer and drug user motel called the "Sea Lark". I haven't been there in years, but it's good to know they cleaned the place up. It wasn't all that bad back then, so it should be quit good now.

Great Place to stay in Newport. Definately steps up the standard for a motel 6! Would book it again for sure. And the staff was super friendly and definately takes pride in their business.

Free parking in a garage. Good location with modernised rooms. 5 minutes by car from the beach with public parking lots away. A room in the back is nice and quiet. Wi-Fi works great and fast. Regular price for a motel but normal price level for the environment.

We stayed here recently before a cruise. The hotel was very clean and had modern furnishings. The location was close to everything. The owner happened to be running the front desk covering for employees on vacation and out sick. He was very friendly and had a good sense of humor. He gave us a great value and even upgraded our room without asking, free of charge. We would stay here again. Good price, good room, good location, good staff.
