The room had a bad smell when we first walked in but it cleared up with the door open for a bit and everything was clean, to include the pool area. The price for the surrounding community was decent if you just want a place to stay that's tucked away a little bit. A/C definitely worked well and shower was great. Continental breakfast was just that but the coffee was good. Overall, decent stay for my family.

Currently staying here. Our original room felt muggy and had that moldy smell to it. Because we have a baby and my two daughters with us, We didn't want to risk staying in a room that might have mold somewhere where it can't be seen. They said they were realy busy and it would be hard for them to change me to another room but, the young lady in the front was able to accommodate us. Now the New room that we changed to, has a strong smokers smell. It is very annoying and unsatisfying and is penetrating all of our clothes. We were going to stay here till next week but might have to cut it short. Why? Well, they're not able to change our room until possibly Sunday. SMH not a good experience. Some of the employees here were both courteous and helpful. They are the reason why I didn't give a lower star rating.

My room was adequate. I do wish there were outlets next to the beds, however. The carpet was vacuumed, but they need to be cleaned with a carpet cleaner. The employees were friendly and it was convenient to have a quick breakfast before heading out for the day.

Great staff, nice and pleasant time, clean room even though there was an odd “wet carpet” smell when we first went in. The furnishings were nice and modern, but the rooms themselves could use an update. Definitely staying again, for a bit lower of a price or same price with more modern updating. Unless it’s an emergency, I wouldn’t pay more than $70-85/night for a double bed with a fridge until they update things a bit more. In Tucson they have a LQ that’s basically from the future for that same price! Check it out seriously. Hooters next door may get a bit loud but we were right across and had no issues. Pool was awesome, maybe would be nice to add a hot tub…

I stay frequently with La Quinta and I have to say I have always enjoyed my stay. This location is no different, I enjoyed my stay. That said, if this is your first La Quinta experience you might want to start out at a different location. This particular property is horribly dated. The carpet is atrocious looking. I left the window open throughout my stay because the room had an odor.

Shares a property with Hooters which made me wonder what the accommodations would be like. We only needed a reasonable clean place to rest after an all day weekend venue. Believe it or not, while the place really needs sprucing up on the outside… the inside has been remodeled with brand be Ac units and very clean rooms with all the amenities of any upscale hotel… OH! and the best part! FREE BREAKFAST in a clean well maintained dining area. Staff very nice and accommodating as well. Pleasant Stay. Right off highway 405 too. :) )

Was honestly very nice. It was a little noisy because it's right next to the freeway but it wasn't unbearable. Very clean. The bathroom was very small and it was hard to find parking but we managed. Would say the stay was pretty good.

Great staff. Rooms could use remodeling. Really close to hooters which is a plus. No hot tub unfortunately. Overall a nice simple clean affordable motel that will give you no issues.

My daughter and I brought our 2 large dogs with us to California. We're very grateful that this La Quinta allows large dogs without extra fees! It was clean and quiet. Friendly staff too. I'd highly recommend this La Quinta if you're ever in Costa Mesa.

I am actually still here, and have the rest of the work week to finish out. Kind of regret this choice. I can’t hear myself think while writing this, due to the LOUD freeway right outside my room. Room shows no signs of neglect on cleanliness, however the shower head looks gunky and I contemplated on touching it for adjustment. Not comfortable walking barefoot on the carpet, but I never really am in motels/hotels. The place really needs modern updates. Also, the towels have a funky smell to them. Idk if it’s the type of detergent or what. I travel a lot and usually the towels and bed sheets smell fresh like lavender or something similar. I most likely will not stay here again.

It is horrible! If I could give it a 0 star rating I would. We had 3 rooms for our party and each of them were as hideous as the others. It was filthy inside and out, dirty and stained carpets, mold in the showers, and every morning they ran out of food in the first hour of their breakfast. Bananas were so green that they weren't edible. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! The door was not flush, so there was open gaps at the top, sides, and bottom. There was white powder on carpet around beds, and they tried to say it was deodorizer that they forgot to vaccum. No frig or microwave in our room. By far the worst place I've ever stayed, and we will NEVER stay there again! I wish I would have looked at all the terrible reviews before booking there. It seems to be the same problems over and over again in the reviews, so it is obvious it not being taken care of.

Worst holtel I have ever stayed in, rooms are dirty, they ran out of the breakfast items with in the first 20 minutes and would not refill them. The room I was in was being treated for bedbugs. I would not recommend to stay here.

Really old hotel and looks it. The first room we were given smelled horrible. The second room the A/C barely sqeeked out cool air. The bathroom sink/vanity area is open to the room. The toilet and shower in a tiny space with a door. If your not super skinny you can barely get in there. I won't be returning to this location.

Great customer service but the rooms and amenities were not that great. I stayed in many la quintas, this one definitely need some improvements. Couldn't adjust or lower the TV sound and it was fixed on a loud setting. Bathroom was tiny. But front desk was really helpful.

Simple and clean hotel. We spent a week here, was nice, the maids were good and the breakfast wasn't bad. We would stay again.

Reasonably priced for it's location. There are a few issues issues with some of the rooms. Ex : I had one of their blow dryers almost caught on fire when I went to use it! So be careful with that! And the Wi-Fi can be a either work fine or be kinda spotty. Overall not terrible for a cheap get away! And the breakfast isn't bad!

Excellent hotel to spend the night, comfortable, clean and the staff very friendly, the only problem is the parking so small.

I had a great stay at this location this time around. The maids left me alone and on one of the several nights that I stayed there I woke up pretty late because I was up with a work problem the previous night. Needless to say I woke up to the clerk knocking at my door and informing in a very nice manner that it was either time to check out or to extend and if course I opted to extend. I just thought that this was a very reasonable way to handle this issue because I have stayed at some hotels that they were extremely rude and disrespectful with the same exact situation.

The rooms are nice and clean. Quiet environment. Free breakfast with homemade waffles. Fast, free internet. Downside was staff appear to assume that riding a bike means a person is homeless? It was a beautiful day and I wanted to take my bike out. Staff member told me to leave the property with my bike as I wasn't allowed. I told her I was a paying guest, that she must be mistaken. She acknowledged but didn't apologize.

We went on vacation to Disneyland, even though the hotel is far from Disney is our best option, this virtually remote and quite relaxing if you want to deacansar, the only constant noise is the cars that go by freeway but not even the other guests make noise, the parking lot is pretty small so in a certain way you have to run with a bit of luck to find a drawer cercaa of your room, the rooms are comfortable, clean, with heating, soaking tub, closet, writing desk and an arm chair the veradad I can not complain, if I plan another trip I definitely will stay at this hotel again.

Bugs, toilet plugged, heater blows cold air. Breakfast had over ripe bananas. Bed was comfy and ok… pretty surroundings… palms trees. Local to business and medical places.

Love this hotel. It's not the fanciest place but it's clean and the front desk people are helpful and nice and they don't ask for any deposit as Long as you paid for the room with a credit or debit card! And that's rare lately every hotel wants to hold around 100 extra on my card for incidentals. But not them! Love them!

I would give this place five stars for the gal who worked in concierge because she was helpful and kind! She deserves a raise, or more than that, a different job lol! This place is definitely a dive! The place looked pretty sketchy to begin with and it's next to a Hooters. The rooms had an odd smell, and I wasn't sure exactly if it was just an old musty smell, or if someone had been smoking previously in this non-smoking room. After checking around the room, and lifting the corners of the bed sheets to check the mattress, which looked old and had some questionable stains on it, I checked out without ever staying there! Yuck! The only reason I'm giving this two stars instead of 0 or 1/2 of a star was because of the gal in concierge who was very accommodating and professional!

Room was good except long black hair over clean towel. Night front desk agent didn't inform me of breakfast hours, so we showed up at 915 and they had already put it away. Was able to snag a muffin and bagels and some coffee.

Previously booked our room to reserve a spot, still took us 15 mins to check in. Got up to our room and we're called back within 10 minutes to sign another paper the receptionist forgot about. During our one night stay we saw 3 police officers in bulletproof vests coming out of rooms and walking around the building. The only reason I'll give it 2 stars is because Hooters is right next to it and their wings were convenient and delicious!

First thing, after our long flight we arrive and prepare to check in and there is no one at the desk, it takes 15 minutes to locate a person to check us in. That's infuriating. For the price it's okay, although the carpets badly need to be cleaned. The pool was dirty the first day, but they finally cleaned it, and they finally cleaned the breakfast floor but it was very dirty for quite some time. Overall they were too slow about cleaning everything, and the quality of cleaning was not so good. I suppose this is what you get for the price, and it's okay if you're just using this place because of its proximity to the beach. It's still no excuse, the age and condition of the property should be no excuse for uncleanliness. The pictures look much better than the place really is. But the bathroom was clean, and the bed was very comfortable.

Rooms were decent with super powerful AC. Showers had great water pressure, although a bit small. Also a pool available, but only 3-5ft deep. Located right next to some owl organization.

The outside of the building was dirty. The elevator was dirty. Our room smelled like smoke. I would give it five stars if it were based only on the staff. I was super late for breakfast. My husband took the truck. The only restaurant within walking distance was Hooters. I told one of the staff my situation in conversation… she immediately offered to give me some fruit and water… and even a bagel… She was so kind. Despite the great staff… we will not stay at this location again.

We had to book a room last minute and the price was well with in our range. First thing is the parking which is free and they have alot of extra space. Its right next to some restaurants and breakfast is also included every morning! The hotel staff is courteous and friendly and the rooms are actually pretty comfy. The A/C is cold. It is conveniently located next to the freeway and airport. Would definitely recommend this place for a nights stay.

The La Quinta Inn John Wayne Orange County Airport location is a prime example of the level of quality & value the La Quinta brand consistently offers. The Staff & Management here are courteous & professional. Assistant General Manager — Robert Mejia & his Staff went above & beyond to resolve a few incidental miscues & ensure my stay here was comfortable & productive.

The rooms were big, nice and clean. The pool was great to cool off. My only concern complaint is that the breakfast could have had some protein. It was mostly carbs.

Rooms were adequate, but misleading bed sizes when booking rooms on 3rd party site. We booked the deluxe double instead of the normal double beds, because the 3rd party site said they had queen sized beds on the deluxe. But in reality they were only full sized beds with av $230 same day cancelation fee. So we made do. Rooms were fine, but bathrooms a little stinky, as per usual in California 2 star hotels.

Great location to shopping, restaurants, and Huntington Beach. Noticed original room did not have fridge and the gentleman at the front desk gladly switched rooms at no charge. Noticed him assisting a guest get a room that had an issue at another hotel. He handled it very professional and polite. The rooms and facilities were clean and well kept. Breakfast never seemed to run out and the hostess was happy to assist you. The hotel staff were very nice and they have a work ethic I would gladly love to on my team. Along with the price… this all together was a great stay.

Nothing all that nice, but it's fair for the price. Smoking rooms are right next to non-smoking rooms, and the stench penetrates everything. Wouldn't plan on coming here again, but it wasn't incredibly terrible.

Pretty awful experience during my last visit. The rooms smelled terrible and the front desk wasn't too sympathetic or willing to relocate us. Also some shady characters hanging out at night. Just be sure to lock your car doors and remove valuables.

Nothing spectacular, but no complaints. TV had a good range of channels, bed was comfortable, thermostat worked well. Good basic hotel.

Customer service was decent. It's honestly alright for the price. The hotel rooms weren't dirty but they weren't very clean either. It was average if anything, mostly a DIY experience. They don't spoil you but they don't make you do everything either.

Total nightmare! I don't recommend this place at all. Toilet clogged, shower drain slow to drain, restroom door loose from rusted hinges, room smell horrible, give another guest the same room you're in. As a recommendation pay a little more for something much better because this place deserves half a star.

First the rooms smell like they haven't been cleaned in weeks. The carpet was filthy and the bath tub was obviously uncleaned because I spotted spot that looked like mold. The front desk staff was very rude. The hotel looks nothing like the photos.

Great value for the budget! Front desk, Robert was very accommodating! I extended my stay. All front desk staff was friendly. Rooms clean, although floor could use a cleaning or re carpet. Air conditioner worked. Pool clean and friendly. Great location, central to most destinations. I will be back!

Great location if your doing business in FV. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. However, the units were pretty dumpy and smelled. Also, pretty dodgy looking characters that were staying there.

The carpet is stained and dirty. Our bathtub drains extremely slowly. Your feet and shins take a bath while you shower. The TV didn't work when we arrived, along with one outlet near the table. The service however, was prompt and friendly. I am still disappointed because the LaQuinta we stayed in Minnesota and in Iowa were so much better.

We had reservations through Travelocity and were told that check in was at 3PM. We arrived at 2:45 PM so we were understanding at first that our room was not ready. But at 4PM two buses loaded with people arrived and they were given two stacks of room keys without any wait. When we inquired at the desk we were told that the only rooms that were left were smoking so we had to cancel our reservations. We are angry that we waited four 1 1/2 hours only to find out they did not have the room we requested for us. Also, we found out that their is another La Quinta on Dyer Road that is closer to John Wayne Orange County Airport then this one so confused why this one is named as it is not close to the airport at all.

Beautiful Hotel and comfortable, good breakfast. All according to the price of the room. Can easily be transported by bus to disneyland in 23 minutes and return without problems.

Great for the price and very friendly staff, spacious rooms and good layout. Perfect for the independent traveling business person. It's very refreshing to see a place that really makes you feel welcome with more than affordable rates. Definitely making La Quinta Inn my first choice from now on when arriving into town.

We walked in at 9pm. I asked the clerk what was for breakfast. She said bacon and eggs. Nice I said. Then she said "well we dont have any bacon just eggs. " ok fine I said. Then the second lady said "dont tell him that. Sir we have cold boiled eggs and frozen waffles. " I dont care what was for breakfast but why do they tease us then laugh? We didnt laugh! Two guys from my company were supposed to be there for two weeks. They demamanded prepayment in full or the rates were going to increase! Really! We paid for 1 night. We should have left right then! The stairways were dirty and unswept. The room was old and smelly. The shower had poor pressure and smelled of sewer gas. The next day we left and stayed at another hotel for the two weeks. I would suggest everyone find a different place.

This place wasnt clean, gave me keya to the wrong room and walked in on someone sleeping, won't go back. (Plus it was run down, breakfast sucked, pool was closed due to a dead rat in it) only bonus was it shared the same parking lot as hooters.

Fairly alright. Not the most fancy place but it will do. Front staff follows strict policy though. They asked for ID every time even though I was there 10 minutes ago. That's good on the security part.

First the Pros: The rooms was clean and passable in most regards in material condition. The location was great being about half way between the beach and Disneyland (We were on a family vacation) The Cons: The noise from 405 was insane. Parking at the hotel was also near impossible. The breakfast didn't quite seem up to par with other LaQuintas. The staff seemed like they really didn't want to be bothered by customers. We stayed here for three days. The primary objective of the trip was to go to the beach and to Disneyland. The room itself was fine, but our room faced 405. Not being from California I assumed that the traffic would die down after 9 PM or so. It didn't. It was pretty loud all night. The staff was marginally helpful when we checked in, but after that they seemed annoyed whenever I asked a question as I was interrupting their time on the internet. For example, I was looking for a good seafood restaurant and they had some restaurant brochures in the lobby. After looking at them and not seeing one that was quite what I was looking for, I asked the woman at the desk (who was on the computer) if she could recommend any seafood restaurants other than the "these" while holding up the brochures. Without looking up from the computer or missing a beat, I got a very curt "No. " That was it. Conversation over. While we accomplish our goals, we were not very rested when we left and I was not very happy with the price we payed.
