I’m giving 5 stars for its class of Motel. My room was renovated. And was great for the price. Truck parking. It was clean and the grounds were nice. Coke machine doesn’t work and I wouldn’t eat anything out of the snack machine. They have places to eat nearby so the location is great. Spent the weekend here and would stay again.

Rooms are inexpensive. They are comfortable and clean. Free breakfast is a real plus. Grass for your dogs. It's a pretty good place to rest.

The room was clean. That was the only good thing about this motel. It had no hand towels. The breakfast was not worth anything. No waffle batter at all. The biscuts and gravy was completely out. My husband is a truck driver and we were counting on that breakfast. We can't just park a truck anywhere.

When I first checked in, I was given a room that was completely disgusting and unacceptable. It was so bad that I took pictures of everything before I proceeded to the front desk to complain. The bed was unmade, disgusting, had mold and yellow stains all over it. The baseboards and walls were stained yellow and brown, there were about 15 flies, and six other kind of hugs in the room, and it had an aweful smell. They ended up giving me a better room, which was a C — at the most. Not to mention when I was walking away from the front desk after complaining, the lady that stepped up behind me had announced herself as being from the health department and they were there to do an inspection. Come to find out, the day before, a little boy was found at the bottom of the pool unconscious, with no supervision. And upon checking in a little boy, no older than two years, was brought to the front desk because he had been wandering around the parking lot unsupervised for at least a half hour. His parents were no where to be found. Definitely a drug motel, it's so sad.

Okay Hotel. It was fairly clean. However they only provided two bath towels And nothing else. No floor mats. No washcloths. The breakfast included cereal, biscuits and gravy, and waffles. It was a bit noisy at night as most of the occupants were workers in the oil industry. They sat outside our room smoking until 11 p. M. But we decided they were good guards since we were right off the freeway and the area had a lot of homeless people. Lol.

Comfy bed, sit down & fast food avail ie in & out burger & Denny's close to gas station. Clean & cozy room.

Not clean and poorly maintained. A very average breakfast. Fortunately the reception was good.

We chose this motel because they were pet friendly. The rooms have not really been upgraded except adding a flat screen tv. The room was as clean as you can get in an old room I guess. The people upstairs sounded like they were running a marathon all night long. We originally paid for 2 nights but ended up going to the Motel 6 down the road and had a much nicer room the second night.

Late last night fresh off the highway after a very very long drive, I checked into the Vagabond Inn Bakersfield South 6501 Colony Street Bakersfield, CA 93307 At first glance everything seemed to be in order an kept up. Today as we where waking up my child found bedbugs in the bed! As I called the front desk I spoke with Brenda who was working at the front desk who then told me there was nothing she could do an that the Pest Contorl would give me a call! She was not helpful or professional at all so I called the Bakersfield Health Department. As we all know, bedbugs travel from please to place. I don't recommend anyone staying there or in room 228! Oh an not to mention that the housekeeping left a long piece of hair on the bath towels. Being it was in the middle of the night when I checked in I couldn't request fresh towels. I left a message for the Manager Ganell to give me a call and I still have not received a response. I can't even rate this place! In order for me to post this it made me rate them. I give them 0Stars!

Very poor quality. Wi-Fi sucks. Breakfast sucked. Very poor quality for price. We got stuck in back of hotel. Did not want to see local hooker given head to person. Yet as all hotels. Place was clean on property.

Had a pleasant overnight stay. The room smelled clean upon entry. It was well kept and very spacious. Bed was super comfortable. Only issue was that there is a car lot of some sort on the side our room was located so there was a lot of traffic noise up until 1am but luckily it didn't keep us up. I would definitely stay here again!

The next day I had bug bites all over my body. I called and ask for a refund or something to compensate me. Nope they never called back. The walls are super thin so you can hear almost everything outside or next to you… I had an awful week dealing with an irritating rash.

Very good customer service and quick about handling problems quiet and nice place to stay.

We stayed in room 150 everything was good except don't turn out the lights ROACHES WILL JOIN YOU AND GET INTO YOUR FOOD.

Is it a 5 star hotel? No. Is it a budget friendly hotel that's really not such a bad place? Yes.

Decent prices if you stay 9 times you get tenth visit free, great breakfast amenities, no one bothers you. Overall 5 stars.

The worst experience of my life is in charge of the Fourth of today 02 09 18 is a woman despota and does not know how to talk to the guests the manager just does not give the face only send me to take my mom and us when we have already paid. The day so I do not recommend the only thing B Ueno is the service is housekeeping. Congratulations. Only to them.

I've stayed here a few time while working. Currently staying here and have to say pretty disappointing. When I stayed in a double room with a coworker the beds were comfy and room was clean. The single bed rooms are another story both rooms the beds were so hard I would have rather stayed in my truck not to mention my current room is dirty now. I booked it this room for 2 nights but I'm more then likely going to find another place for tomorrow.

Extremely inexpensive and was a lot nicer than we expected, and free breakfast to top it off!

The reception was cordial and very nice. The check-in was done quickly.
The Walmart across the street was also great.
In the room it had a refrigerator and a microwave.
We entered the room and immediately opened the window and left the door open to leave fresh air in the room.
Then we saw on the ground food crumbs from pre-or pre-tenants.
On closer inspection, we saw that the ground was neither swept nor wet in the last… Days, months?
The TV furniture was very dusty and also in the bathroom was hygiene something that you were looking for in vain.
The bed was very soft and the edge of the mattress made of iron or so.
When you put yourself in bed, the edge hurt, then you sank in bed.
The pool was open but also only clean from afar.
The Continetal Brakefest consisted of orange juice, coffee and waffles.
But from 2 am — 9 am.

We stayed here several years ago it was nice. But the place just looked dirty. We rented room got in it no towels it was 11pm before we got towels we had to be up early for work. The room looked ruin down. One guy stood out side his room talking to his self he was there when we got there still there when we left that morning he was standing outside. Kinda bad for business.

This location is ok. The only real issue is the cleaning lady that cleaned my room didn't speak English. So it was very hard to communicate with her…

We get here and TV doesn't work, microwave doesn't work, waiting on 2 extra pillows… it's been 4 hours now… No trash can, no ash tray. They do have some type of breakfast which runs out quickly. The heater/AC is either way to hot or way to cold ❄ no matter what. The bathroom door is taped. The bath wasn't cleaned out. Shower has slow responding water. 6 hours later we finally get more pillows. And the lady in the front seems annoyed at the fact that you're even checking into the motel in the first place. My family needs to rest and this has been exact opposite. Been trying to form a complaint for 3 days and only getting the runaround.

This was an accident. We were supposed to stay somewhere else. But it was nice. Quiet. Friendly staff… next to Dennis for food.

Paid $68 for a room they said when I called was $46. We got there and no ice machines worked, room was disgusting, hair all over floors, dirty and nasty. Bathroom wall was splattered with urine. In a cheap hotel I expect outdated stuff but not the room to be nasty. We had to call front desk because our bed had no pillowcases or bedspread. No ashtrays in a smoking room. At night we kept checking on our vehicle due to unsavory ppl throughout the parking lot. Sounded like drag racing on the side street beside hotel. The housekeeper was the only one who was nice. The office staff was rude when we called to say we had no bedding.

I really hate giving bad reviews but this place has people up all night. The rooms smelled it had broken furniture and cockroaches and they need new beds sorry but the staff is really sweet and the price is cheap but I'd rather stay in a more comfortable room…

Hello, I stayed here for two nights this week, and I was surprised that it was as good as it was, meaning the room was clean, and the staff was great and the bed was very nice. The door to the room did need to be fixed as it was hard to open and the frame seemed damaged, and there is a lot of trucking activity there but it is that type of area so no big deal. And for the price, its a good value, and probably the best cheap motel in town. I would just say update the outside of the place and the AC units and the doors for guest safety, have a good weekend!

I think it could be clean up and updated new furniture for sure but the breakfast is cool and employees are nice.

The breakfast hours are quite flexible and convenient for those with fluctuating work schedules. The rooms themselves are comfortable amd clean. However, the internet connection isnt very consistent.

Great place close to lots of food choices both fast and traditional. Staff was quick and always happy to answer any questions.

Staff was nice. Price was unbeatable. You pay for what you get though. The rooms were clean but old. Breakfast was okay. I was concerned that there was mold on the shower ceiling. Close access to a lot of food and groceries. Great stop on your way down to so cal if you need a few hours of sleep on your road trip.

I'm giving four because there was some trash under the bed and hair behind the bathroom door. I love this place though. It's in a convenient area, across the street are grocery stores, a mini strip mall (not sure what's in it) lowes, and a In N Out, also a gas station. And on the same side is another gas station with a taco wagon, cross the street and you got a Jack in the box and a new Starbucks, (they were across the street. ) Overall great place, pet friendly (fee) and has a pool. Staff is also friendly. We stay here a lot, (We are over the road truck drivers) and I would recommend this place.

Very comfortable place, good customer service. Very kind and respectful maintenance. 24 hr security. And breakfast was tastey. I would definately stay again.

Neat room, clean laminate flooring, comfortable bedding, the flooring of the bath tub was peeling but was otherwise clean and presentable. Decent air conditioning to counter hot Bakersfield nights. Good location near the highway and quick bites, including the ever essential Starbucks.

My brother and I stayed here for the March Meet Drag Racing at Famoso. We though it was closer to the track, but it wasn't. The rooms are very well used and could use redoing. The Wifi is very slow. One of our card keys didn't work. The free breakfast is just ok for free. It could be better. One of the waffle irons was broke. The staff is very very nice and attentive. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance.

Little reassuring people hanging out in the parking lot at night. The atmosphere in the neighborhood at night is of the same taste: you do not feel safe.
On the side of the room itself, we didn't have much to complain about.
Breakfast included but not very appealing. Very disappointed with the orange juice that was approaching here more of the soda without bubbles. A rather limited choice…

The staff and specially the MANAGER extremely rude and unprofessional, I don't know how somebody hired her in first place but she (manager) can't work in this kind of job with that horrible attitude, don't try to ask them for solutions they will scream at you and tell you to go out of the hotel, I used to come here every year, after this NEVER again. Don't go there your gonna have a bad experience guaranteed.

I was the visiting guest of a guest and Vagabond Inn may be in a less than desirable area of town, but it's quiet and peaceful. That's important to me and I like to know that I can get privacy when I'm visiting with a friend who's in town for the weekend. We might have much to catch up on and the fewer interruptions, the better. The air conditioning is ice cold and the attitude of the staff is somewhat ambivalent, but ultimately exactly what you want it to be in that area. The less people who talk to you, the better. All in all, it's a good bunk for a shower and some shut eye, it's just not in the greatest area.

Whoops. Lol. I SHARTED in the pool while swimming earlier. My bad. Great taco truck in the chevron parking lot next door. Nice motel, free breakfast. All in all great. I probably wouldn't swim in the pool for the rest of this evening. Great stay.

I'm an over the road driver an stopped here because of the trk parking, I had no problems here the price was gd n the office people were great my room was clean n free of odors. I had a nice stay.

Horrible place to stay… Was charged a 100 dollars for smoking in the room and nobody in my party smokes at all. I have been staying here for years and ever since they took over new management it has just gone to shit. Oh and the also accused me of possibly want to steal the TV and the microwave… Unbelievable I will never be staying here again never… What a shame…

The only hotel I stay at! Great continental breakfast starts at 2am… biscuits & gravy, and a DIY waffle bar!

We had a very nice stay at this Inn. Lovely staff. They did not mind we wanted a late checkin and we're very helpful when our car had problems.

DON'T STAY HERE! My mother and her boyfriend came to visit my family for the weekend and we had a full house so they rented a room for 2 days from this place. After staying one night my mother's boyfriend WHO DOESN'T HAVE ANY ALLERGIES ended up itching like crazy and began getting huge red rashes all over his back. We couldn't do anything to help him so we had to rush him to the Mercy Southwest Urgent Care at 1:30am! They had to give him a allergy injection and then a steroid! They returned back to the motel and to get some sleep and lay down… but the itchy returned and then my mother started itchy like crazy! They were sooo uncomfortable the got back up at 3:30 am and called me at home. I was asleep and didn't wake up for an hour before I heard their 2nd call and my mother was begging to sleep on my couch. I felt so awful! I thought they would be more comfort at this Inn, but they were ended up sleeping on my couch instead just to get relief from this horrible motel! Days later my mother went to her regular doctor in Riverside County and found out that the Vagabound Inn infected their skin with bed bug mites! DON'T SLEEP HERE! THIS IS SOOOOO DISGUSTING! The Inn never refunded my mother for their horrible stay! I regret EVER referring my mother to stay at this hotel! Shame on you people! Clean your motel!

I hated this place. It was by far the worst place have ever stayed. Rooms smelled terriable, very dirty and there was blood all over the mattress. There was drug addicted people everywhere who stayed up all night yelling and walking around outside. I never slept. I felt so dirty sleeping there. Worst experience ever.

Wi — Fi is OK, the pool is not great but not bad.
Laundry room Ok, but consider buying your laundry before.
Correct room, not luxury but not good either.
For one night it was not bad.

Clean, comfortable, nice place I like it, recommend it to all people is clean, comfortable, convenient and safe.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Vagabond. A nice quick check in with Luciano. There is plenty of parking and the beds were comfortable. Bang for the buck Free Wi-Fi and free hot breakfast. Also there is a Dennys near by. Also pet friendly which is a plus just had to pay a small pet fee.

I stayed here two weeks ago and absolutely enjoyed my stay. My check in was quick, I had a great room with wood floors and a flat screen to watch my football on. It had a really friendly atmosphere which I can appreciate being that I travel a lot. Not to mention free breakfast that starts at 2am.

I had a pleasant visit here the staff was very friendly and got me checked in fast. My room was very nice it had been completely remodeled with wood floors and a plasma tv. I loved that I had a fridge and microwave in my room I found that to be very convienent as it can be expensive to stay in hotels days at a time. It was also located to shopping which I appreciated because hey I am girl and we love to shop. I will be back to stay soon.

This is a great Hotel. I stay here just to get away from everything and everybody. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. The manager knows me by name now and always makes sure I am taking care of. She gives me a really good rate cause I stay so often. The rooms are always clean and they serve a breakfast in the morning with waffles and bisquits and gravy. Anytime family is in town this is where they all stay. I would recommend this hotel.

You want a best time of your life? Stay a night in room 131, and sleep tight. Theres a spirit in there, activity happens around 12:00 am and 1:00 at night. If you got the guts and experience that room tell us about it, good luck. But over all awesome service, great attitude and plan to stay there again :-).
