Great location. Loved watching the planes take off and land.

Smoke detector went off in room 3 times starting at 5:25 AM. When we reported it, no one apologized or really seemed to care. Wait staff at first night of dinner couldn’t get our order correct. Front desk staff also rude to another member of our party.
They all need to be retrained.

Would not recommend this hotel! We did not get what we paid for. We paid for a lake view. We got a roof/parking lot view right next to the road, which was very noisy. We arrived about 11pm. I attempted to call the front desk regarding the location of the room and after 3 attempts, walked back to the front desk. After speaking with Ron, he told me to speak with the front desk at 9 am the next morning and they would be able to accommodate our move as well as the party with us. I arrived back at the front desk at 8:15 am and spoke with a lady at the front desk. I explained the situation and the conversation I had with Ron the night before. I explained that we were told we would be accommodated. Our request was refused and we were told that we would not be moved. We were told that they could not move anyone. A few hours later, I overheard the lady telling Ron that they had infact moved another party at 7am that very morning. When Ron had asked her if our party had inquired about a room move prior to his arrival that morning, she LIED AND TOLD HIM NO WE HAD NOT. I immediately spoke with Ron at that time after hearing her lie and told him what she had told us that morning. She did not realize that we had overheard her conversation. Unaccomadating and you will not get what you pay for! We are, unfortunately here for 2 more nights. We will not return and will not recommend this hotel. I dont appreciate being lied to or being charged for somthing I did not receive.

Staff doesn’t reply when contacted via phone or message. I stayed there on April 8, 2021; have been asking for my receipt & still none. No accommodations if you have a disability. Not friendly nor have any customer service experience. Recommend not to stay here!

The view is spectacular. We stay here every time we come to Anchorage. Spacious and always clean rooms. We just love it here!

I stayed here for 2 weeks when I had to quarantine for 14 days due to flying in from out of state! The hotel is very nice, clean and welcoming! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with all of our needs! I was actually sad to be leaving! I would definitely recommend this hotel for either short term or long term stays. This is where we will stay every year, when we return for my hubby’s annual training for his job! Thank you, Greg (hotel manager) for making our stay so homey!

We had a great time at the Lakefront for their Dinner with a Brewer! The chef was absolutely amazing, and I was so impressed with the entire evening cheers.

We stayed here 5 days in February. Great stay. Very clean. Great location. The food at the restaurant was wonderful. Definitely will stay again when we go back.

We love Rita who works at The Flying Machine Restaurant. She is kind, sweet and very accomodating. Kudos also to the shuttle drivers, Mr. Steve who gave us an informative ride and Domingo who was very patient. The hotel is very blessed to have these great people.

Cool hotel and nice setting on Lake Hood … great sunsets and every type of wild game that’s native to Alaska is displayed in main lobby area … a real lodge feeling!

I have been here a couple of times. On time airport shuttles, close to the airport, big, clean, comfortable rooms. Restaurants in the hotel and within walking distance. The staff has always been very helpful. The Flying Machine restaurant has great food and service, and a great view of the lake and float plane operations. The Fancy Moose lounge has great food, excellent fish and chips and ham and lentil soup! Good gathering place for drinks in the evening too. This is a really decent place to stay.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Lakefront Hotel. It has an authentic feel and ambience. I especially like the reminders of its rugged heritage and the wonderful stuffed animals. The accommodations were comfortable and the dining facilities were varied and adequate. The only negative part of our experience was on the terrace on a beautiful evening when we were looking subjected to a table of socially clueless middle aged males whose language and loudness was more more suited to a 'Raiders Game'! It is not the hotel's fault that the hotel would attract this element but what is more than a little disturbing is that these individuals were pilots! God save US.

It's a great hotel. The view of the lake is the road to relaxation. Transfer to the city centre and the airport. Super.

Location is great. Right on the water on Lake Hood. On Spenard which is within walking distance to quite a few eateries. Hotel is nice and clean. The lobby and hallways were at least. I was simply delivering pizza there. Front desk was friendly.

Honestly the most comfortable beds I have slept in over the past 20+ years. Beautiful lobby and great staff. The only issue was service at the in house restaurant, poor service… UPDATE Had to give 5 stars. They have nice washer and dryers for your clothes with a downloadable app that tells you when your laundry is done. Hotel staff is very pleasant and helpful.

We weren't told that the 1st floor was pet friendly rooms. The room wasn't cleaned upon our arrival late in the day and it smelled of dog. I'm allergic to dogs and cats. The hotel staff was apologetic and very nice about locating another room and compensating us with a full breakfast. Our room on the second floor was perfect, the beds very comfortable and we enjoyed breakfast the next morning. I would have no problem with staying there again.

First pros: friendly staff lovely rooms great location. Cons: No room service and the staff have no idea about it. We called three different places starting from the food service number listed in the hotel directory. Second, they have window mounted AC units. This would not have been a problem except in summer blackout curtains are a must. This rendered the ac unit ineffective. Causing it to be on all night and not cool the room at all. The hotel itself is very warm, (understandably so) but the AC unit will only work with the curtains wide open. I would definitely stay in the winter though, and the airplanes are not too loud considering how close to the airport it is.

Love the location of this place. Is a bit out of town but have a free shuttle. Staff have been great and food in the restaurants can be a little pricey but really good. Can't beat sitting out on the deck watching the float planes take off and land. Will definitely come back here again.

We enjoyed our stay. We had a view of Lake Hood and could see the float planes taking off and landing. There was a regular shuttle from the hotel to downtown Anchorage which we found very convenient. The Fancy Moose was a relaxed atmosphere for a casual meal with live music from a singer and his guitar.

The Lakefront has been pleasantly upgraded and refurbished since my last stay. Room was fresh and clean. Lots of parking available and check-in was quick and efficient. I did receive a free breakfast voucher for the restaurant, which was nice, but unfortunately I was unable to make use of it. Lots of tourists around at this time of year so things can get busy and crowded at times. I would definitely stay here again.

Love this hotel and the location. Staff is always really friendly. Food is good as well. There's a free shuttle into town during the summer months. Rooms have excellent black out curtains, soft, comfortable beds. The lake is right there which provides great scenic views and wildlife (keep an eye out for the moose though).

Strangely the rooms were way too warm… and this was with outside temps of mid-50s. There are AC units in the window, but they don't seem to have much impact. Plus the fact that you have to close the blackout curtains at night due to how long it is sunny in the summer… the AC unit is almost completely ineffective. When I talked to somebody at the counter about the room temperature issue, they said they would send somebody up but nobody ever showed. It's not a bad place to stay, but would try somewhere else if I ever returned to Anchorage.

Great location, right off the lake where the float planes fly in and out. Soft bedding and updated rooms are a plus. We will be back again!

The location is near the airport with access to the downtown area. The Lakefront Hotel is on Lake Hood, a very busy floatplane facility. The Lakefront Hotel has a shuttle service to and from the airport as well as the downtown Anchorage. Bell staff to help with luggage, a restaurant and bar on premises, a spacious front lobby decorated in Alaskan style.

The Lakefront is near the airport. There's a nice restaurant overlooking Lake Hood where you can watch the small planes takeoff and land. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful. The parking lot could be better. Nearby some great restaurants and also fast food.

Nice rooms, friendly staff, complimentary airport shuttle & guest freezer. Restaurant has good food, great coffee (steam dot) and they're Johnny-on-the-spot @ cooking it up short-order quick. Adequate parking & nice to be close to the airport.

We stayed here for the 2018 Iditarod. Nice rooms. Good food. Great value for your money. This is our new favorite place to stay when we come up for the race.

People were so nice and the room spacious. It looks like some updates were done… however it could have been a bit better. Two of my traveling pet peeves 1) no pad on the iron board… ugh… it is needed! 2) the room temperature was too warm, 75 degrees, I called for assistance and they indicated you could only adjust heat temp… not cool the room… so it remained too hot… I slept with my window open in Alaska… Great bar, music a quick breakfast (one more note) … When you ask for a simple breakfast, nothing worse than getting spicy potatoes (over seasoned) and inedible… then charging for a full meal you did not get to eat.

Just checked in. The gentleman at the check in desk was very pleasant and friendly. Beautiful room and very clean. Will be coming back, every time.

Top-Notch Staff makes this hotel stand out! Comfortable furnishings. Restaurant offers excellent however expensive food. Rooms beginning to show signs of wear. When the lake isn't frozen, float planes are abundant. Ididerod central for the race beginning.

My food was awesome. I can be kind of a picky eater, so when I ordered it was something safe, I expected it to be ok. It wasn't. It was fantastic. The chicken so tender, the veggies cooked, yet not mush, wonderful flavor. I look forward to going again. Also, my 3 year old wasn't antsy bc our indoor seat had a view of the planes taking off and landing.

Hotel was beautiful and the staff were extremely friendly. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. My only issue was the lack of a small gift shop or 'convenience store' if you will. For business travelers picking up Tylenol or a toothbrush is sometimes necessary and when it is 2 degrees with 12 ft snow drifts running to Walgreens is not convenient. At the same time, the beauty of the hotel outweighs that small inconvenience and really, overnight business travelers may not be their niche.

I stay here regularly as I fly and two or three years ago the Lakefront Millenium hotel in Anchorage started remodeling and updating and this has become a very pleasant experience. They allow dogs on the first floor for easy access to take pets outside. Bethany has been at the check in desk the last few times and is a gem to deal with. All the staff has been great but she and the older shuttle bus driver have stood above the rest. Thanks to all.

This place was one of the most amazing hotels I've ever stayed at. I would recommend it to anyone. They also have a nice restraunt.

Bison burger was excellent and french fries were crispy and fresh. Beautiful view of the lake (it's winter so it was frozen over) and all the planes on it. Highly recommend this place, and I will be going back the next time I'm in Anchorage.

We LOVE this place! Superb service and SO CLOSE to the airport. No time lost buzzing all over town when you just want to hit the hay!

Lobby area is really nice. Food was good. Room was pretty basic but ok and had been recently remodeled. Overall the room was overpriced at $300 per night.

Great property right on a frozen lake. Beautiful rooms and great staff! 3 great restaurant's on site. Would highly recommend!

I must say that the Conference room where we did our meeting was spacey, big enough to accommodate a large group of Leos (Young Lions). The room has an spectacular view of the lake. The large windows reveal the beautiful Alaska. I would recommend this hotel for meetings and conferences.

Great location if you get a room with peek a boo views of lake as float planes. Wonderful breakfast with gorgeous views in restaurant. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, updated room with my fav down pillows and blanket.

Luncheon food was adequate. Hotel outside surrounding is beautiful. Service was adequate. Banquet hall hard to get to and a little out of the way.

A short 2.5 mile drive from the airport, the hotel faces a small lake used by sea planes. It's a beautiful location and the hotel is clean, and modern. I had a meal at the hotel restaurant facing the lake and the food was served to perfection.

We ate at The Flying Machine for dinner. We had a delicious wine and a three course meal. The food was excellent and the staff was attentive and very helpful! I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

The hotel is recommended if you need to go to the airport the next day. Within 5 minutes you are there by car. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus.
It takes 15 minutes by car to get to the centre. Here, too, a shuttle bus runs every hour until 19am. 00 p. M.
Our room was spacious and clean. The bed large and the mattress intact. The bathroom, on the other hand, is relatively small and clean. All in all, a tipptoppe overnight stay.

Less than what was expected for the price. Booked a king delux room, and it had 2 queen queen beds and a bathroom, on par with a Holiday Inn Express. I expected a lake view (didn't specify so maybe that matters) but our room looked directly at the side of an adjacent building a few feet away. Some of the staff were not friendly. I would explore other options in Anchorage. The location was fine, a short drive from the airport and 15 minutes from downtown, with shuttle service to both locations.

Rooms are modern and spacious and have air conditioning. A heavy-handed sliding door to the bathroom with shower bath and laminated bathroom walls are not optimal. Single washing swicks in the DZ is separate. Two single-standing king-size box jumping beds with good mattress and large kiase selection provided nightly comfort. Rooms were quiet but the air conditioning was so loud that we could not use it despite warm temperatures. For breakfast in the restaurant we received a voucher at the check-in. You could choose between 5 different breakfasts from the map. Everything was very fresh and delicious. Coffee and juice were refilled without a limit. Although the DZ including breakfast was really expensive at $328, 00, but we felt comfortable. The service was extremely friendly. We were able to store our fish in the freezer overnight for a $5 fee.

Really cool hotel, great for business meetings, seminars or just meeting friends and wanting to have good views. Overlooks lake and airplane course for water takeoff. The food here at the restaurant is tasty and the desert are pretty good as well. There is a travel/souvenir shop on the second floor. If you are in Anchorage check out this spot and book one of the airplane tours around Anchorage. It will be worth it!

Nice place. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Food is pretty good. Bar service ok. Rooms did not provide water to guests. In my book if your paying in excess of $200 a night to stay ANYWHERE there should be complementary (two) bottles of water in your room at check in. Had to pay 3 bucks at vending machines. ATM availability was nice. Was able to extend check out. To 1:00 which was more convenient. Rooms we're quite but planes buzzes over property every so often. Only $30 is a great deal to check out the sites in the surrounding area. Would recommend just bring your own water:)

I had my flights from Barrow/Prudhoe Bay cancelled, Alaskan Airlines put me up here. It is such a nice hotel, very traditional Alaskan with it's decorating style, I found the staff very accommodating, polite and helpful. The Fancy Moose pub/bar also great which is part of the hotel. Shuttle to and from the airport was fast and reliable plus easily requested. The room itself was really nice. I have no idea how much the room cost as it was covered by the airline but I was extremely satisfied with my stay.

$18 for a gyro is way too expensive. Food tasted fine.

We ate a late lunch/ early dinner at The Lakefront Anchorage. We chose it because you can sit on the deck and watch floater planes take off and come in. I personally didn't particularly care for the menu. The portions are very large and heavy. If you're vegetarian/ vegan and do not eat fish, you are very limited to choices and will have to ask for the meat to not be included. The beer and wine list was fairly extensive. They also serve Coke products. Our service was fine, although our waiter did mess up the bill and tried to charge us double the actual price. He was very apologetic when the error was pointed out to him. I thought the restaurant was somewhat overpriced for a lunch menu. Also, we would have split entrees if our waiter had let us know how large they were; we were doing a lot of traveling that day and none of us wanted a big, heavy meal or to cart around leftovers. The view was nice; it was fun to watch the floater planes.

Staff was pleasant and accommodating. We had to change rooms upon checking in because of poor housekeeping. I found hair on the wall of the shower and towels looked like someone cleaned the soles of their shoes on them. I will give them credit the lodge looks beautiful, but…

The staff is great to work with and really there to support the guests. I have stayed there now on 3 different occasions. The rooms are great neat and clean. They match any price you can find on line. Not with other hotels but through the different on line services. Thank you.

Nice place, comfortable bed, great view of the aerodrome. Would recommend the lake side vs Spenard Rd side as the traffic can be noisy.

We loved our stay here! We are personally used to cheaper chain hotels, but since we only stayed one night we decided to spend a little extra. We also had our dog with us, which included a $30 pet fee. The hallways were a little blah and could have been cleaner, but our room was great! It was very clean and that bed… oh my, that bed was SO comfy! I have read through some other reviews and some were right, no microwave and room is not toddler proof. Both of which were easily fixed. The staff was extremely nice. They allowed us to use their personal microwave and even allowed us to check in a couple hours early after our long drive from Fairbanks! We did not eat there, so I cannot comment on that. Overall, our stay was very very nice and we will definitely stay there again when we go back!

Great, friendly & helpful staff at the hotel. Nice rooms and decor. My one complaint of room is that there is a mini fridge but no microwave. There are two restaurants in the hotel that I ate at for all of the meals almost every day. The food is pretty pricey, but big portions. So they would give me to go boxes, but I had no way of heating up my food. They are dog friendly which is awesome and everyone greeted me and my dog day in and day out. The hotel is situated on Lake Hood which is the largest seaplane base and that's pretty awesome to watch planes landing and taking off on the lake. There are also trails to walk around the lake which was great for me and my dog.

Friendly service at the front desk, the room was very nice, updated, lots of amenities, and clean except for a used cleaning glove left behind on the nightstand. Friendly service and great breakfast at the fancy moose restaurant. Coffee was so-so. Also 24hr shuttle service. I would definitely stay there again.

It's a great hotel, the rooms are tidy, comfortable and the atmosphere is rustic and fun, and the staff is courteous and polite. My only beef is that I had to walk a mile to get from my room to the lobby, not a big deal though.

Made a non-changeable online booking with their corporate website because the rates were cheaper than walk-in rates, but the site changed the dates that I had selected so when we arrived our reservation was for the next day. Fortunately the helpful front desk staff were very accommodating and changed our reservation for the correct date. Room is very clean and modern looking. It looks like they are very newly renovated. However, in the morning my shower only got warm, not hot.

My wife and I stayed there in mid-August. The front desk staff were right up there with the best we have encountered and the dining room, its staff and menus were also up to the highest standards. However, the housekeeping let the side down. We were there for three nights and didn’t have our room serviced once. The passageway carpet on floor 2 — our floor — looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for a week and we saw a jug and three glasses sitting by a smoke door for two days. On day three, there were five glasses… Also, someone left a plate and knife on the floor opposite our room door for two days.

Every time I go to Anchorage (at least once a year, February or August) I stay here. The hotel is amazing, the people who work there are amazing, the food at the restaurant is amazing. The hallways kind of remind me of The Shining but in a fun way. Love this place.

Horrible! If you want to enjoy yourself or feel comfortable in a hotel — DO NOT GO HERE.

This hotel is in very bad shape. Carpet is stained throughout, window a/c with a fan in the ceiling to circulate air, rooms musty. Front entrance is closed for repairs. Supposed to be getting a remodeling. Would not stay here.

Elevator alarm went off at 10pm next to my room, called the front desk — they said someone would come down to repair/turn off. 30 minutes later, still going off — called the desk, they said, 'oh, it just does that. " Ok, how about you call me? ANYHOW, 20 more minutes go by — they finally got the thing silent. They get one star for a comfy bed, but the service was less than stellar, room wasn't all that great. There are far better hotels in Anchorage.

I cant believe some of these reviews that I am reading. I have stayed a total of 5 times at the Anchorage Millenium Hotel over the last 20 years and have NEVER had a problem EXCEPT the outrageous cost to use the internet which I feel should be FREE to hotel guests and PLEASE, place better coffee and coffee making facillities in the room. The staff go out of there way to make you welcome and comfortable and I found none of my requests where a problem. Cap and the other staff at the Moose Bar are great and after a night or 2 would always remember your name, not sure if thats a good thing or not. The girls at reception are VERY easy to deal with and any issue are dealt with promptly and with courtesy. The food at the Moose Bar is SO good that I dont bother to try the fancy restaurant, although PLEASE bring back the French Lamb Jus. I stayed in the first week and the last week of May this year (2012) and the room cost around $120 per night (breakfast extra) which I thought was fair. Yes I could have stayed at the Hilton or another 5 star hotel in Ancorage at double the price, but they DONT have the personal service, character or History that the Millenium has. My room was clean when I arrived and was cleaned everyday. Air conditioning was very old and basic but still kept my room quite comfortable, I like a cold room.

Plainly and simply, this place is a dump. The Wallpaper is peeling from the walls, the carpets need cleaning badly, and whatever type of caulking they use in the bath area never has cured and gets on everything it touches. I have been here for two weeks. I need to get my key cards reprogrammed every other day. No explanation as to why, no apologies, just part of the experience when you book your stay here. That said, the restaurants are great. The Bar is great, the staff is great. A strange contradiction for a place that truly needs to be bulldozed and rebuilt. The layout of the hotel is a very long L shape. My room, unfortunately, is at the very end of the L. So having to get my keys recoded involves an extremely long walk to the front desk. Forget trying to call the desk via the courtesy phone in the hallway. Over 20 rings each time with no answer. They should turn most of the L into more parking, which they have a serious lack of this time of year, and build up. The heating system is very loud in the room. The air conditioning is a window unit. Not too convenient in the middle of Summer when the Sun never sets. Even with the shade pulled, there is some serious daylight in your room all of the time, day and night. There are zero. Count em, zero. Decorations on the long hallways. There is some old and very dirty furniture sparingly placed. I wouldn't let my dog on it, it is so dirty. The TVs are the older tube type.
