This place absolutely ROBBED US! My wife left a wedding gift necklace in room 1130 and when we called the next morning to ask about it the lady said she would ask the maid who of course claimed she didn’t see it even though my wife new exactly the time and place she left it (visibly on the counter). We ended up calling back on our way back through the area to see if we could potentially check the room ourselves and before I could even get out the sentence the supervising manager on shift (evening of Jan 21, 2020) started yelling at me on the phone lying by claiming we kept changing the room numbers on her so she could just hang up on me and would not even stop talking for a second and then she hung up on me. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever even heard of. Highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. These people are rude and most likely this place has criminals working for it. Police will be notified shortly.

Great staff, location is great to some fast food restaurants like Subway, Wendy’s, and McDonalds for starters. The rooms are very clean and good continental breakfast. Transportation to and from the airport is great as well.

We had a great experience with Puffin Inn. They came right to the airport when we called, and we were taken to the hotel. Breakfast was very good with plenty to chose from including waffles, cereal and multiple breads. When it came time to catch the train to our cruise, they met us at the door of the annex and helped with our luggage. We paid about $176 for the night. Unlike another poster, we had no problems with the beds.

$206.00 for a $39 room! Bed was horrible about a full size barely room for two people, worried all night about falling out of bed! Breakfast was barely okay, nothing except boiled eggs for gluten free people and they were out! Girl handling it was very rude! Hate this place! ’

WARNING: This hotel is extremely unsafe and has been completely unhelpful after my room was burglarized. They have not returned my calls or aided the police in to the investigation in to how someone got through their door locks and stole over $1250 worth of my belongings.

3.5 stars. My main complaint is that the motel is in dire need of some soundproofing. I understand that it's an inexpensive motel, but guests should be able to sleep without needing to go to extreme lengths to drown out noise. I hear every car, planes, people walking by, it's pretty bad. And I'm not terribly sensitive to noise. I find the breakfast quite adequate and the shuttle is much appreciated. Rooms are very clean. The odd layout of the motel and the fact that it only has one elevator near the lobby is a giant PITA if you're in a second floor room at the other end. Wi-fi is good too. I agree that old rooms really need updated.

Absolutely lovely place. This place should be a 5 star resort. Charming and full of character and that's just the person I was staying with ;) Perfect location near the airport, plenty of space in the room to build a pillow fort. Hashtag loverly.

Good hotel with great service.

My company put us up in the Puffin Inn overnight after a day of training before we flew to the slope first thing the following morning. The rooms were adequate, but my room was missing a few outlet covers and the room looked like it was maintained and upgraded by high school students. That said, the room was clean, the A/C worked, the water in the shower was hot and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The neighborhood, however, was super sketchy. Lots of junkies and homeless people begging on the corners and loitering outside businesses. I am very glad the rooms had working deadbolts on them Update 8/5/18: There is a *huge* difference between the rooms in the annex and the rooms in the main building. I was in the annex my first stay, and I am in the main building this time. The main building's room is quite nice, with lots of care put into the maintenance. No missing covers, no sloppy wiremold, caulk properly installed etc. If I didn't know any better, I'd think I was in a 3 or 3.5 star hotel room!

Quick overnight stay before Alaska adventure! Rooms are large, clean, front desk is very accommodating; airport shuttle arrived on time In general very pleasant experience! Will definitely come back here!

We had mechanical problems with our United flight 1806 and United put us up here for the night. We had to stay in the Annex which was clean, but no air, had to carry our baggage up the stairs, noisy street, hot inside, and just a bad place to be put in for all the problems we had. The people at the desk were friendly. That is all I have to say, Oh by the way, if you are going to stay here don't let them put you any place except in the newer rooms.

The staff is nice. Its def fine for a one night stay. Close to the airport and 24 hr shuttle is super nice.

Would rent here again. The staff were very considerate of me. They have airport shuttle to and from the airport. Also a very good breakfast. The room was clean, quiet, and very reasonable price. Thanks for everything. I miss you and hope to come back again.

L'hôtel propose directement plusieurs types de chambres et de tarifs, nous avons pris la chambre au tarif le plus bas et elle était parfaite : grande chambre, propre et sa salle de bain est propre et moderne (deux nuits). Le staff est très sympa et quel plaisir d'avoir rencontré le propriétaire de l'hôtel qui est très à l'écoute de ses clients. Le petit déjeuner est simple mais copieux. L'hôtel est très proche de l'aéroport et autour il y a beaucoup de restaurants. N'oublier d'aller voir les hydravions à deux minutes à pied!

Main hotel is decent, but the older sections are not! If you stay here, make sure you have an inside room. The outside rooms are run down, and super hot! No air conditioner in the older rooms.

Good airport hotel. Inexpensive. Nice staff. Breakfast ok. Free parking. Free shuttle. Good beds.

It was a quaint hotel in the heart of spenard. I really liked that it has a pokemon gym in the parking lot. Very affordable too.

Wonderful clean, accommodating place. Wonderful staff, always smiling and willing to go the extra mile to help you! Located in a very good area and have everything close by. I know this is my place for now on!

I chose The Puffin Inn as my stopover hotel before catching the shuttle to Seward for summer job because the owner had stopped in and made themselves known to our staff the previous year and I decided The Puffin Inn was it. The room was very well taken care of, the staff very friendly and helpful to all of my jet-leg questions. The spring off-season rate couldn’t be beat. But I do feel stupid admitting I couldn’t figure out how to get the shower to work, probably jet-leg related. The breakfast could have had some fruit options, and some protein.

The rooms are clean, not fancy by clean. The water for the shower got hot quickly so that was great! The room is a good size and has some of you basic luxuries like the fridge, desk, TV, and coffee maker. Really nice for the price!

Our room was pretty nice. We stayed in the annex, which is 1/2 block from the main building. The majority of it, I would consider motel, but our building was a hotel setup. The room was smaller but clean… which to me is more important. It was a great price and a good deal. We would stay here again… they charged about half of what some do around here. Breakfast was a very small selection. And side note, there is an awesome teriyaki place right across the street.

Nice friendly hotel. The staff is very nice and helpful. The shuttle service is great. The rooms are clean and the décor is ok. The proximity to the airport and the proximity to the city is good. Breakfast in buffet form is simple but tastefully good. I've been here twice and I'd come back as well.

I'm so disappointed with this Inn. My friend's apartment was on fire last night and Redcross provided him a card to use for hotel stay. I called Puffin inn to reserve a room and the receptionist didn't accept the reservation because my friend will use a Red cross debit card for payment! Heartless woman who turned down a person that is so in need. Call was around 6pm 2/17/18. Whoever you are. You are heartless.

The check in lady was rude, and she refused my 13 year old little brother to stay there with our dad and myself because he didn't have an ID. He's 13. We came from homer Alaska and due to the weather couldn't make it back. And we're driving through a blizzard because they refused a stay to a 13 year old boy. Smooth going puffin inn, I'll be sure to tell my business associates to take your inn off of our list for paid work stays.

Stayed their for three nights, The room was nice, clean and comfy. The rates were very reasonably priced. Well located for the airport with a free shuttle service.

Friendly staff and the rooms are what you'd expect for the price. The airport pickup was a bit confusing — make sure you call when you need a pick up. I got in really early and they had me checked in by 8am, which was nice after a red eye flight.

This is nice enough, but the main attraction for me is the cheap rooms section around back. Cheapest in Anchorage. Shuttle service to airport is nice too.

I've spent 3 nights at this budget hotel. It's a short drive to the Anchorage airport (about 2 miles), and the hotel shuttle will come to pick you up. Staff was very courteous and my room had a fridge and was clean. The included breakfast was fine too. I'll stay here again next time I'm in Anchorage. Plenty of parking if you need it.

We were suddenly looking for a place to stay before regular check in time. We found one of two rooms available with the other ready about 1p. We checked in and got the keys to the first room and then they called us when we could get keys to the second room. Another nice benefit was the continental breakfast, but it is not restocked as needed-you might have to get there earlier than later. Rooms are stocked with towels for 2 people, we had to call for additional as we had 6 in our party. The real problem was when we got a call from Nellie at the front desk at 1:30AM. YES, AM! She was calling us to tell us the room was not paid for. Never mind we registered and had keys to both room, they only charged our card for one. She wanted to know if she could charge the card for the second room. In the morning, we went to the counter to complain where we found out it was Nellie I was talking to about the abrupt wake up. As I took a couple steps away and I glanced back where Nellie was laughing with the new employee next to her. I told her it was not a laughing matter to wake someone for an employee's mistake. It could have waited until morning. Her excuse was she wanted us to be safe. We were then taken to the airport on the free every half hour shuttle. A bag did not get taken off the van and was realized as it was driving away. We called and were told that we needed to wait for the next shuttle as they needed to stay on schedule.

Decent accommodations for the price. Booked last minute and was well taken care of. Quiet and clean.

No frills is right, but the room had a couple stove top burners, fridge and microwave, and a decent TV mounted on the wall. The bed was waaaay too soft for my tastes, I will say that. Breakfast area is small but there were options I appreciated. Oatmeal, cereal, waffles, coffee, juice etc… It's on a pretty busy street which didn't bother me until big trucks and emergency vehicles went by. Overall a nice place to hang your hat.

The bed was comfy, staff helpful, and the continental breakfast had plenty of options. I thought it was a great place to stay for the price, which was lower than the other hotels in the same area.

The building old and could use a small make over. The location and staff were great. They have a good breakfast and don't run out of food. Did I say the staff is great.

We were greeted by very friendly and courteous front desk clerk. Very helpful. Needed a reasonable place to stay. Convenient and clean. Close to the airport. Comfortable beds. Nice Continental breakfast. Lovely lobby and the decor on the walls was a nice touch; even a bearskin rug on the fireplace! A very good experience overall! Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family! The whole staff was very helpful!

Amazing location! Only minutes away from the airport. Also not more than 20 minutes away from downtown Anchorage. The front desk staff were very friendly and extremely helpful! They made me feel at home and even gave me tips about Anchorage. I'd definitely stay here again.

The room at Puffin Inn was awful. The worst hotel room I have ever stayed in. Dark little box next to laundry and caretaker supply room. No natural light. I believe it was irresponsible of the hotel to put a single woman traveler in a room that was around the back of the hotel with only access via an outside door backing onto a back street, not even in the central court yard and poorly lit at night. I didn’t feel safe. 1 person on reception was always too busy to provide much assistance to customers. Of all the reviews I’ve read on Expedia and Trip Adviser you would not be led to expect such poor quality accommodation – it was clean but that’s about the best I can say.

Best place to stay in Anchorage. Friendly staff, phenomenal rates, and awesome rooms. Would highly recommend!

We arrived at midnight following our flight into Anchorage and when given the keys to our room they did not work. We were in building so hubby walked back to let them know we couldn't get in the building, much less our room. The girl at the desk insisted the card key was activated and working. He comes back and sure enough — they didn't work. Finally someone else let us in our building and into our room. The carpet was filthy with stains, the room door is 1/2 inch above the carpet so had hall light shining in our room all night. The mattress was old and I had to hug the edge all night so I didn't roll into hubby. We were less than impressed.

Husbqnd and I rented room with our kids at about 9 at night shower dident work and burnt son. So I called front desk to notify them then husband arived after midnight when we were a sleep and did the same thing so I called and asked to speak to a manager and they could upgrade room and I said it was to early to wake my kids for. Then at around 4:30 we were woken up to the police at the door saying we needed to vacait because we did not upgrade room. We asked for a refund and all they would do is refund the deposit. Absolutely the worst hotel experience.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the inn. + Great Continental breakfast + Relatively close to the airport + Very courteous staff + Very good about giving directions (as well as maps and the what I should do while visiting anchorage material in the room) + Great Heating — The parking was a bit confusing because I was in the second building and there were signs indicating that parking in front of the building I was in was restricted to local residents — I did see some bugs around the bathroom (however the rest of the room was spotless) — A little hard to find when using Apple Maps. Although I know I really shouldn't use Apple Maps, I ended up in the parking lot of the hotel next store (I couldn't see the Puffin Inn sign).

Though I have never stayed at the Puffin Inn, I have dealt with their staff. I had a run in with their courtesy driver when he blocked my taxi cab in. I was the customer and the meter was running. We asked him to pull to the designated spot and he used very foul words to tell the taxi driver, myself and in front of my 2 years old son and pregnant wife to stuff it. I called the Puffin Inn to complain and more than 12 hours later I never got a reply. I called again and spoke to Reggie, after being told their were no managers on duty. Reggie proceeded to tell me the courtesy drivers side which was a complete lie. When I told him that none of that was true he said he didn't care. This driver cussed us out in front of at least 3 of their own customers and apparently that is completely okay with their management. Had the management taken me more seriously, this review would have been much different.

We stayed at the cheapest room in Puffin Inn and only because that was the cheapest option in Anchorage at the time. The suite was very clean and very spacious for two couples. The room was pretty new/well maintained, with a big window and AC/heater. The continental breakfast was excellent and TV + Wifi were very convenient. Overall, a great value! I am actually not sure what else could added to hotel room (i. E. Even if you pay more, it is hard to improve on what we got).
