I've just spent a number of delightful nights at the Movenpick Suriwongse Chiang Mai. It really is an excellent hotel with a fantastic location right beside the night market and a 5 minute walk to the old city which is full of interesting temples. It was full when I was there, which is a good sign. It was comfortable and quiet. The staff are all wonderful and the buffet breakfast is generous. There's a nice spa on the second floor and a pool and gym. They can arrange a pick up or drop to the airport in a big van, which is only a 10 or 15 minute drive away. I've stayed in many hotels in Chiang Mai and will certainly stay here again. Very much recommended.

Beautiful hotel relaxing setting great coffee shop wonderful restaurants we like the restaurant with lunchtime dim sum and we also enjoy their restaurant concerts highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay in chiangmai very close to the night bazaar market.

Great happy hour. Great staff & service. They always have Thai league football games on. I didn’t eat but my friend said the burger was great. I really enjoyed my beers here.

Very professional and courteous staff. I can't say how much I appreciate everything you guys have done for me. I will return to Thailand and Chiang Mai next year, and of course, I will stay at this hotel again!

Our group chose Moevenpick this year as Mai Ping in under renovation for our annual CM trip. The check-in was an absolute disaster. There were 7 people behind the check-in desk of which 3 supervisors who did nothing but stare on screens. It took 15mn per person to check in. Receipts were handwritten! Never saw this in 20 years. For a number of us we did not get the rooms we wanted. I complained bitterly and after a while the manager decided to give me an upgraded room. The rest of the trip was very good. The room was very spacey and well equipped except for the mini bar which is completely empty, not just no alcoholic beverages. Good service from then on. Guys, get your act together for check-in and fill up the mini bar. That might even give you some additional income… from our group for sure.

Big comfortable rooms. Very good breakfast. Helpful reception. Kind and smiling bell boys. Clean baths with pampering products.

Pro: Great location conveniently located in the heart of night bazaar. Our suite was huge. Easy to check in and out. Friendly front desk, concierge, and excursion ticket office. Good bank for the buck. The spa was EXCELLENT, otherwise "Service" would have been a 4 out of 10. Con: One of our two iPhone headsets was missing from the room — — and no, we did not misplace it. We reported it missing from the room, but they never found it. There was an extreme acidic odor of glue, possibly coming from construction nearby our room. Gave me a headache.

My only not satisfied is breakfast, please add more local Thai food, example Thai noodles, (now have coconut chicken noodle and chicken soup) glutinous rice desserts, the really nice sticky white and black corn, many local foods. Not only your hotel, other Hotels also not supply Thai food mostly, don’t know why. These are not expensive items. We don’t understand. We came Thailand for food and tour, but normally breakfast always disappointed us. We loved Thai food. I was there 20 years ago but can’t recall the hotel name, which is very big and gave us variety of Thai foods.

I stayed at Movenpick Hotel in Chiang Mai for almost one week in May 2018. Staff at reception were very welcoming and provided very detailed information. They were also very good in sorting accommodation arrangements. Every staff I bumped into in the hotel was very respectful, always smiling and willing to assist. The ONLY issue I can raise here concerns toiletries. The hotel provided shampoo and bath foam but no lotion. I would expect the lotion to be part of the bathroom pack. Breakfast was superb with plenty of fruit. Mangoes, pineapples and papaya were my favorite. It was surely very healthy breakfast. Keep it up!

Good place near night bazaar. Breakfast should have more options for guests who don't eat pork or beef. Staff could be more proficient in English.

Comfortable room, good buffet breakfast, attentive staff. I needed a softer pillow and staff delivered it in 5 minutes.

I was in old building. The table has ants and room's smell not good. Carpet is dirty. Bathroom not have shelves to put soap and shampoo. But bed and pillow are good. Location is superb.

All tourist hotels provide good services. But what does one say to a facility that provides personalised personalised service. Our experience at Movenpick was simply amazing.

All Staff are friendly and helpful. Room is clean n bright. Service is good. Food is reasonable and nice. The singing band in the restaurant is very entertaining. Overall, it is very pleasant staying in the hotel.

Front desk are friendly lobby is smelling nice air refresher but my room 735 C looks quite old, TV is big and lots of channels.

Checking-in and they give me an upgrade. They changed from room 411 to 401. Later on in my room I discover a letter "Dear Mr. Aladdin" so this room was for me all the time. I never accept any hotel upgrades because I have had so many bad experiences with the "upgrades" But I have stayed here before and room 401 was a gorgeous room. But in the evening, I was in bed and the music started. My alarm is set to go off at 4 o'clock so I can go bird watching. I call the reception — There is some terrible music — I don't understand — There is some terrible music — Do they play music in the next door room? — No it is from a bar — Who is playing music? — I don't know, from one of you bars — Not from the room? — No — Do you hear music from the outside? Very strange! She was really playing surprised and she didn't knew anything. — Do you mean that I'm the first one complaining? — Hmmmmmm, errrrrr — How many guest have complained before? — Hmmmmmm, errrrrr Many! So they treat their guests like idiots and I will not come back. Water pressure and temperature in the shower leaves a lot to wish for Below, my firs review +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Well, for this price I have no other option than to give it 5 stars. 40 US Dollars per night is a bargain. I don't now, maybe a LOW SEASON price. But for 40 US it is a 5 star. For 80 US Dollars + I would have given it a weak 3 stars Nice room, good internet and a good location.

The staff are really friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good but the housekeeping could be improved. There are many restaurants and shops near by which is great. I also got complimentary hair wash and back rub. Overall good place to stay.

For a Movenpick, it's a bit run down and perhaps because it's high season, overpriced. Running water has an odd chemical taste. The staff are friendly, the breakfast sumptuous.

One or the other part of the hotel could be refurbished.

Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. I was from 28 Nov. Until Dec 2, 17 with breakfast included. The food was very good with various fresh preparation.
Rooms are comfortable with slightly clogged shower.

Very nice views of Chiang Mai all around the building. Staff is excellent. 4 years ago, when I was 14 years old and in the elevator, when the doors would open, all the staff no matter how busy they were, would stop, bow and say sawadee to me. Just a little boy. I highly recommend this hotel for tourists especially.

The hotel is located at a nice location close to markets, restaurants and shops. The hotel made of 2 parts and my room is at the old part so my hotel key only have 1 and operates with chips technology. Th room design is a bit old but I'm surprised that it is very clean and comfortable especially the toilet. Overall experience is excellent. Strongly recommended for traveler.

This hotel had Fantastic restaurant with lovely song golden oldies 60-70songs. It you had chance come to visit and join happy &Iovely moods.

We got a big room. Clean and neat. Bathroom is with shower and bathcube. Staffs are warm and friendly, but breakfast is not impressive though there are some special Chinese food. Good located, in city center, near night market for you to hunt gifts, and Thai massage places. Recommended for short visit to Chiang Mai.

This hotel locates in the area near one of the night bazaars. Its location is very convenient for tourists. The facility of the hotel is too old. The safe cannot be opened and the freezer is busted and beds were kind overused. Had to ask the hotel to fix the safe and the freezer. However, the staff are polite and helpful.

Good hotel situated right at the heart of the city and stone throws away from the night market where the action of Chiangmai is. The rooms and location is really worth the money with friendly staff and excellent food. I ordered pizza and had Chang beer at The Bistro Terrace with live band performance for just THB 300. The food was awesome too. Definitely coming back. Great!

It is strategically located at the heart of Chiang Mai's landmark the "Night Bazaar", where l enjoyed going through the market looking for bargains and as well as good dining and clubbing.

Looks like they changed owners and completely remodeled the hotel. Prices ramped up accordingly, so use booking tools instead of walking in to save like 75%. Basic rooms (which are essentially great hotel rooms) are 6000THB which sell out, and prices go up exponentially to like 8000, 12000, 16000… for deluxe and executive rooms. The quality is an attempt at becoming a 5-star with including stores, restaurants, and many services in-building, but looks like a 4-star for now due to renovations still going on. With so many competitive hotels nearby, I'd shop around first.

Hotel is in need of a refurb. Decent location and semi-clean room with good Wi-Fi is the only reason to stay here for the £30 a night price tag.

Good location, decent room which is clean and staff very friendly. Needs new carpets and pool not very big, very noisy and a lot of the building quite run down. Despite this would probably come again due to low price.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. It is very clean. Staff are friendly, hardworking and eager to please. My only small criticism is a lack of hanging space for clothes in the bathroom. Otherwise it is as good as any 5 star hotel I have stayed at in the past. Meals were excellent and cheap. Position is tops. Would be happy to stay there again.

I don't know how to evaluate this hotel because I only had a discussion with the sales manager about basic conditions and facilities about this hotel. However, comparing with the Empress hotel, the staffes in this hotel are more friendly and kindly to customers, even potential customers. They always have smile on their face, always helpful to your concerns.
