A real paradise, the rooms are sublime, the staff is exceptional, always very attentive and professional. The food is delicious and refined. It is a magical place and a hotel that we recommend.

If you are looking for a piece of paradise, then definitely here. Extremely lovingly furnished hotel with equally loving staff. If you like the peace and a healthy touch of luxury, you are in good hands here. Definitely recommended — not only for honeymooners!

If you’re looking for paradise this is it. We have travelled extensively and can categorically say this is probably one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in the world. The attention to detail in the service is second to none. You truly are made to feel at home. The design of the property is incredible. You can easily feel like you have your own house on the beach. And when I say house, I mean a house fit for king and queen. We still have one day to go but already decided we will be back in the future.

Matlai is just superb of any aspect. We have enjoyed all minutes of our stay. Normally we do not visit a place again, but Matlai is something that we will…

Because it is only for honeymooners and couples and they should specify it on all their social media page and also on trip advisor that children under 12 years are also not offered accommodation.

We had an exceptional honeymoon with the staff at the small care to make you feel at home. An address to keep preciously to return as soon as we have the opportunity. Indeed, it is a fabulous place, the staff at the top, delicious cuisine, nothing to say. Our stay was well above our expectation. Recommend with eyes closed. Thank you to all the staff and especially to Tim for this unforgettable trip.

Absolutely a small piece of heaven! Phenomenal property perfectly manicured. Very comfortable and private. The staff is amazing and very considerate. The owner is a great hostess. Meals are spectacular and well thought out. So very comfortable.

What a holiday in this Hotel! In a very lovingly furnished and decorated Resort, with a courteous and attentive Team, will leave to what he is supposed to be… pure relaxation! 5 stars are not enough!

The most incredible stay at Matlai — it is 100% honey moon standard. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. The food is out of this world. The location is by far the best on the island. The rooms are beautifully designed and spacious with a roll top bath and sinks with a view of the ocean. There are so many special touches to this hotel including fresh flowers on your bed and in your dressing gown pocket everyday, a bed time story left each evening, a mobile phone to call your butler when needed, quiet quaint areas to eat privately as a couple. It absolutely exceeded our expectations and would highly recommend. Huge thanks to butler Mohammed who is so friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect! Thank you Matlai staff we loved every second of this holiday.

Had dinner here a couple of times whilst staying in another resort nearby. Great food, good eye for details and food presentation. The menu is reasonably priced for being a boutique hotel and they surprisingly have a variety of local dishes, which is not very common in most resorts in the area. A must try is the octopus curry and the coconut crab soup. Very welcoming and friendly staff, even though we were not guests of the hotel. I would definitely recommend it for an intimate dinner by the ocean.

Luxurious paradise! It was easy to spend hours just watching the view from our room. Excellent hotel, quiet and small, beautifully designed and managed. We miss it.

! This is a review for then Beach Bar/Restaurant of the Matlai Hotel — not the hotel itself! Me and my friends had dinner at the Restaurant of the matlai hotel. We came at 7pm, no one recognized us for 20 minutes. After going to the bar to order, we waited another 2 hours (! ) for our food. Of course we mentioned how long we were waiting to the waiter, who told us that we should be happy — and at least brought us a small snack. At 9:30 we got 2 of the meals we ordered. 15 minutes later one more, without the included sauce. Another 30 minutes later, there was still one missing and we told the waiter again. He said it would be our own fault, we should have mentioned it before… At 21:50 we finally had everything, and ordered two desserts. We asked if at least one of them would be for free — because we waited for almost 3 hours (there was one more group at the restaurant — 2 waiters for about 10 people altogether) After asking for the check, one of the waiters told us that one of our cheesecakes was for free and said he was sorry that the food took so long. But as we looked at the check, we saw that the 4, 5$ of the second cheesecake were — very subtle — added to the prices of the other meals — which were somehow 4, 5$ more expensive then in the menu … of corse we told him, and he answered that his collegue wrote the check and it was just a 'fake'… What more can I say … It's really a pitty the service was that (! ) bad, because we really liked the food.

Quiet place, suitable for couples who want to "pamper" from the noise of the sea and from the friendly and professional staff.

I had an amazing experience during my stay at Boutique Hotel Matlai, it felt like home. This resort is overlooking the beach, the food being served is fresh, the ambience and the decoration is simple yet detailed. The tiniest details are taken care of by the supervisors, nothing is missing. The garden of the boutique is stunning, it is well taken care of, and adds a surreal exposure for the guests. The bathroom is spacious, clean and the window is overlooking the ocean, I hig…hly recommend opening the windows to feel the sea breeze. I'm surely coming back to this place.

Booked a week here, the reviews looked good, great in fact! The reviews don't even begin to convey how great! From the moment we arrived it was service of the highest order, don't worry the hotel is fantastic, amazing grounds, stunning views of a truly beautiful sea and beach but the service wow! The rooms are big, clean and pretty. You get everything you need, big TV, Wi-Fi, fridge, great shower, huge bathtub, mozzy nets and so it goes on. The service though was just amazing, Manager Tim was great, nothing was too much trouble, taxi transfers, open air cinema night, spa treatments whatever you need. All of the staff followed his lead, Saleem, Mohammed and Yousef and all the team were just brilliant, always​ on hand but never intrusive. A most amazing place in an amazing place!
