Extremely clean all the time. The staff is very kind and welcoming, as well as helpful with any questions about local areas to eat and visit, or just how to get around. The hostel is located directly in the heart of the city. I stayed for 2 weeks for a volunteer trip and would do it again. Highly recommend staying here during your stay in Arusha!
I stayed in both the private room and the shared dorm in Siret Hostel and both were great. The hostel is immaculately clean, breakfasts are big and healthy, and the dinners are amazing. Guests in the hostel are very well looked after — the owners, Pearl and Emmanuel, are always available to help organise taxis, day trips, safaris etc, and help with any other info required.
The location is also good — a short walk into town, or just a few mins walk to the main road where you can get a daladala (bus) into town. There are small shops, bars and a supermarket within a few minutes walk.
I highly recommend Siret Hostel as a place to stay if in Arusha!

There are too many beds in each room, which means many people have to share one bathroom. Maybe that's great for younger travelers but for older travelers not so great. The staff is incredibly friendly, in the location is safe and quiet, it's just that the bedrooms are you're trying to cram a lot of people into a very small space and then expect all of them to share one shower and one toilet.
