Beautiful hotel! With incredible and spacious rooms, lots of monkeys in the garden, a comfortable pool area and great attention from all of the staff.
Peter made us feel incredibly welcome in every dinner. And the food was INCREDIBLE, chef Zinobia gave us nourshing, flavourful and delicious dishes.
We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel.

One of the nicest stays throughout our trip in Tanzania. The food is very neatly served and is delicious, the room has a gigantic and very comfortable bed, while the staff is very friendly and caring. We truly enjoyed our stay in there!
One improvement is to get a small dryer to hang out drying clothes.

I had a wonderful stay at Olerai Lodge for just one night. It was set in a beautiful location and was very peaceful.
The food was amazing, the room was wonderful and the staff was fantastic. Hosanna & the entire team there really do a great job. Of course they are very attentive but even better, they are all so friendly and really make you feel welcomed.

An absolutely unforgettable stay!
We were warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived and looked after with great care until our departure. The staff are extremely attentive, always smiling and available.
The traditional meals were delicious and varied—a real treat after long days on safari. The lodges are comfortable, very clean, and perfectly integrated into the natural surroundings, which is especially enjoyable in the heart of the bush/savannah.
A little extra bonus: we could hear the animals at night, making the experience even more immersive.
We wholeheartedly recommend these lodges without hesitation.

Our stay at Olerai Lodge was simply perfect. A beautiful and peaceful setting, luxurious accommodation, excellent and abundant food, and exceptionally hospitable staff… I truly have no words to describe this wonderful experience. The comfortable and spacious rooms are beautifully and thoughtfully furnished, well maintained, with a large, comfortable bed. Everything is very clean, and upon arrival we were greeted with a personalized welcome card in the room. The friendly staff is always available. They welcome you as a friend, not just as a guest.

Clean, big rooms, very well equipped, nice African style common spaces and laid back, chill vibe. But the thing that makes this place truly outstanding is the food — best African food I've ever tried, cooked by a talented chef! Highly recommend it!

We spent five days at this lodge and it was an amazing experience from beginning to end. The property is very quiet and relaxing, and everything was impressively clean and well maintained.
The staff were outstanding throughout our stay – always friendly, professional, and ready to help with anything we needed. The food was excellent at every meal: fresh, flavorful, and nicely presented.
Overall, this was exactly the kind of place we were hoping for: calm, spotless, and run by people who clearly care about their guests. We highly recommend this lodge and would be very happy to stay here again.

At the start of our safari trip in Tanzania, after a long journey (more than 24 hours since we left home), we spent our first night at Olerai Lodge — and what a lovely surprise it was! We arrived around 11pm, expecting a quick check-in and rest, but instead were greeted with a beautifully prepared dinner. It was a gesture that truly moved us.
The food was excellent, and breakfast the next morning was equally memorable. We especially recall the kindness and professionalism of the pastry chef, who took the time to ask for our feedback on the freshly baked breads and pastries. To our great surprise, he even prepared a traditional Portuguese custard tart (pastel de nata) — a thoughtful and delicious touch!
The Lodge itself is beautifully decorated, both inside and out, wonderful rooms with great attention to detail. Sadly, we didn’t get to enjoy it fully, as we left early the next morning for our first game drive. But we noted the high quality of the Lodge and its relaxing atmosphere — and we’ll definitely would return if we have the change.

My partner and I stayed in this lodge the night before we flew to Zanzibar. It’s a perfect place to rest and and destress at the pool.
The team is very professional and kind. Cocktails and food are from the highest standard we had in Tanzania and is something we looked out too for quite a while!

From the first moment at Bokerai Lodge, we knew it would be special — and it exceeded all expectations. The rooms were elegant and comfortable, the food delicious and perfectly prepared, but above all, it was Annette and Peter who made our stay unforgettable.
They were always present and attentive. When we had a small issue with the shower, they acted with such professionalism and speed: they offered us another room to shower right away and resolved the problem in less than half an hour. That level of service is hard to find.
Truly an amazing place — I highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality, care, and an unforgettable experience.

We stayed at Olerai Lodge on the night before we embarked on our safari. We arrived late at night and were kindly accommodated for dinner and orientation. The staff were friendly and professional. Upon learning that the airline has lost our luggage, the manager, Maria, made sure we had what we needed to be comfortable.
The rooms were beautiful and extremely clean. There was a lovely garden and swimming pool area, with space to sit outside and enjoy. Recommend!

Our stay at Olerai Lodge with Mativas Africa was truly wonderful and peaceful. From the moment we arrived, our host Mariam made us feel completely at home. We began with a lovely tour of the property, where we learned about the mischievous local monkeys 🐒—a fun and memorable touch!
In the evening, we enjoyed drinks by the bonfire with other guests before adjourning to an amazing dinner that exceeded expectations. The accommodations were exceptional—spacious rooms with a double shower, a large bathroom, and a comfortable king-sized bed. The staff took great care of us, even carrying our bags to and from the rooms.
One detail I especially appreciated was the tipping process, which was handled at checkout—simple, fair, and stress-free.
If you’re planning a safari in the area, you would be remiss not to stay here. Olerai Lodge perfectly balances comfort, nature, and hospitality.

My wife and I spent three very pleasant nights at the Olerai in July and August (2025) — two before our safari and one upon our return. Our rooms, complete with fresh flowers, were very spacious, exceedingly clean, nicely appointed, and exceptionally attractive. The floor to ceiling glass walls open their interiors to their captivating surroundings, while the grounds and spacing between the individual rooms maintains privacy.
The Olerai’s physical attributes (rooms, dining room, grounds, pool, and fire pit) are worthy of five stars, but it is the Olerai’s staff that warrants the highest compliments. They’re attentive, professional, and exceedingly personable. Our meals were excellent.
To the young ladies that greeted us with a singing of “Jambo Bwana, ” and to our immensely charismatic waiter, a special thank you! You’re the best!

Expect a long African massage while getting to this lovely oasis. Great place to rest before traveling home on long flights. The food was excellent and I loved that they served food in the traditional clay pots. We wished we would have found the swing that was around back of the room sooner. Great service as well.

We stayed here for one night on arrival in Tanzania at the start of our safari. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and we had a lot of fun with Jose in the restaurant at dinner time. The room was super clean and modern with the biggest bed we've ever seen. The only downside was that there was absolutely nowhere to put clothes — no wardrobe, no cupboard, no shelf, no drawer — not even a wall hook. Aside from that, we enjoyed our short stay here (even with the terrible road to get there).

My husband and I stayed here for one night following a safari and it far exceeded our expectations based on the reasonable price. The grounds were pretty, the rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff were very friendly. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Our server Peter was very attentive and friendly — thanks Peter! It’s very conveniently located about 15 minutes from Arusha airport so it’s a great 1-night stay on your way in or out of Arusha.
