Mambo Arusha Hostel

Hotel located a bit outside of the city, which is nice. Staff is friendly, but we realized that they kinda lazy and very slow. We booked 2 nights there (one night on the beginning of our trip, second night — on our last day). So staff forgot about our second booking and was very surprised when we arrived (at 17:00 local time). They asked us to wait in lobby without explanation or providing any drinks while preparing our room. So we were left for more then 30 minutes alone without clue what is going on. Cleanness is ok, but towels are very “tired”. After check in we ordered the food and had to remind to the personal couple of times to get it ready. Breakfast was tasty but you will need to wait again. They have regular power outages, despite they have own generators. But! You need to ask them to turn them on, without reminder it will be not done. Was very uncomfortable to pack our staff on darkness. I would rate it as OK, if you don’t have other options to stay.

This was by far one of my favorite hostels I've ever stayed in. The property is very cozy and well kept. All the rooms and the bathroom were clean. The beds have a very comfortable mattresses and the shower has solid water pressure and hot water is available after switching on the boiler. By far the best was the breakfast. The employees prepare it freshly for you with fruit, french toast, bread, potatoes etc. Would love to stay there again!

I had a incredible, 5-stars experience at Mambo Arusha. The hostel is charming, eclectic and stylishly decorated. Every detail, from the shower gels to the throw-pillows has been thought out to ensure comfort and that guests get an authentic sense of Arusha. The place has character and real spirit. The owner, Dj Aziz was kind enough to pick me up from the airport. He is warm and a great conversationalist. The jewel of the hostel though is Nam. She is the sweetest, most thoughtful host I ever met. She helped me out with everything, including taking me to the village to make a withdrawal and get some chips mayai. On top of that, she made me the most scrumptious & unforgettable breakfast. I had to cut my stay short, but I loved it there and recommend it highly!

In this hotel you feel at home, everything is very clean, both rooms and common areas. Breakfast is plentiful and very good. Without a doubt, this could not be so if it were not for Nam, I would return to this hotel only for Nam, she is very attentive, friendly, and helps you in any way she can. Without a doubt it is the best hotel where I could have been.

Quite good hostel with friendly stuff. Beautiful garden and bar with reasonable prices. Breakfast is sufficient. Two bathrooms and two toilets. One inside the house and one outside with no roof — love it. But no worry. Nobody can look inside. I missed the storage room in the tent and you could not lock the tent and there was no safe. Beds are confy. Overall: good place but don't use Google Maps to go there. They will send you somewhere else and you will see yourself in a dead end.
