Great view, welcoming staff, limited breakfast options, cold showers and a bit loud surroundings but nothing unacceptable. Poor Wi-Fi.

Nice place to be. Cool with vibrant nature. I had a wonderful moment. The place has a nice view, chilax, enjoyable. Very designed to comfort you. You'll hear bird singing, cool with tranquility. I recommend you to be there anytime and you won't regret.

I was here for a staycation. It’s a beautiful place to escape the city life. I loved the ambiance and the huts in the trees, felt like a tree house.
They have a beautiful cat Chichi who I enjoyed playing with so much. I still think of her🥹

We stayed here for two nights as part of our Kilimanjaro and safari tour. The lodge is situated in the forest, with a focus on nature. Which was a bit of a drive from Kilimanjaro. Each accommodation is in the form of individual huts, featuring a balcony that overlooks the beautiful hills and, if the weather permits, even Mount Kilimanjaro.
While you are immersed in nature, the lodge is also surrounded by a village. Unfortunately, the fajr (dawn prayer) broadcast over the loudspeaker woke us up on both days at 5am, and the constant barking of dogs kept me from falling asleep. The room itself was charming, but the shower pressure was quite low and the sound insolation was nonexistent.
The meals were the highlight of our stay; they were among the best we had in mainland Tanzania. The staff was friendly and helpful overall, and there was even a cute resident cat on site. I wish we had spent more daytime hours enjoying the beautiful grounds and the pool.

I’m surprised this place is even running. Obviously I wanted to love it. I came off of 6 days on Kilimanjaro excited for a hot shower and a place to rest. The shower did not have hot water. They were shoveling out overflowing water with buckets and told me that’s all I had to do… what? I went downstairs and ordered a cocktail. I had to remind them 3 times before it came 40 minutes later. I had to ask for water twice and noticed the tables around me also were having the same problem. I also told the front desk I needed a driver for 6am. She demanded they come at 5. I explained twice I would take responsibility if I was late to the airport but she laughed at me and told me she’d order it for 5. I ended up waiting at the airport for 3 hours…
Lastly, there was loud music and screaming until 4am.
Honestly this was one of the worst accommodations I’ve ever been to. The entire time I wished I would have just spent another day on Kili… and that’s saying a lot. Just so bad.

An absolutely beautiful hotel! It sits on top of a mountain side with these beautiful rooms that overlook the hills. The room was very comfortable and it had a great restaurant bar area as well as pool area and an incredible massage.
The staff was spectacular. I want to give a special shout out to Farouk and Simon. They were incredibly welcoming and helpful with everything that we needed. Our stay would not have been the same without these two people. I highly recommend getting a massage while you’re there as it was one of the best I’ve had. I look forward to coming back one day, be sure to enjoy the friendly monkeys!

Very nice rustic cabins with comfortable beds and beautiful views. I found it relaxing and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a perfect place to explore Arusha, as it’s close to downtown, yet far from the hustle and bustle of the city.

We had a nice stay for two nights at the lodge. Rustic and comfortable! Staff was very accommodating and helped us with any details that we needed. Breakfast and dinner were very good too. Beds were excellent! I highly recommend trying out Karama Lodge.

It wasn’t a pleasant stay at all. When we arrived our room wasn’t prepared and we had to wait a good couple of hours untill we were able to settle in.
We left and came back later and were greeted by a mold covered wall, the one the bed stood against. That same wall had a light and a switch we could not use. When I tried to turn off the switch it gave me an electric shock making us feel very unsafe and uneasy the whole night.
To top it off the bedsheets had bloodstains on them. So good luck trying to sleep with the light on, dirty bedsheets and the unsafe feeling all night.
When we spoke to the staff they asked us why we didn’t say anything. We tried but when we got to the room at night they were gone and there was no one to contact or ask for help or solutions.
We obviusly packed and left, they didn’t refund or even try to compensate for the horrible experience we had at their hotel.

Worse experience ever. The food took 2 hours to come, the towel to clean your hands before lunch was dirty, with even hair in it, toilets dirty, empty bottles of water on the floor, the service was horrible and the manager impolite. I will never come back.

Absolutely superb lodge! Ideally located, you are surrounded by nature. Extremely kind staff and beautifully run by its founders. Perfect place to charge your batteries before the safari! Asante Sana.
