First Point Arusha Hostel

I can recommend Arusha First Point to 100%. I am staying in the Hostel since 2 weeks now and will be staying one more week. It is a comfortable and safe place.
There is always someone around and we are nice little family. Sometimes we cook together, sometimes Mama is cooking.
There is a beautiful garden in the backyard and, apart from my room, there is always a nice place to retreat and do some work on the laptop.
Whenever I'm in Arusha this will definitely be my first adress!

A cool and laid — back hostel in Aruhsa. Johnson speaks great English and can helps where he can. His mum, who runs the hostel with him, is also very friendly. The breakfast ist plentiful.
Make sure to check the sunset at the Rooftop place! It was a nice stay and if looking for a budget place in Arusha to meet people i’d 100% recommend this place.

First Point Hostel is a very good place. Johnston and his mum are so lovely people. They made me feel at home. I Stayed more than a week and everything was really perfect. I higthly recommend! Asante sana, I will come back.

Our stay at the first point hostel was great. We spent a couple of days here at this pretty hostel, with breathtaking wallpaintings that give off an authentic tanzanian vibe and a relaxed backyard in which you can lay in the grass and enjoy the sun and views over the hills. The owner, Johnson, was friendly and particularly knowledgeable on which are the best companies and prices for daytrips or safari-/mountain climbing tours. Moreover, the room price was great value for money. The only negative thing that I could say about First Point is that the hostel is located a bit from the city centre. However, we really enjoyed walking through the citycentre as the people living in the area were friendly and part of the walk you’ll be surrounded by some fields.

First point Arusha has number of advantages — it's location is close to the city center (cca 2km, walkable distance), moreover, it has a great calm garden close to the river. You can also chill on the rooftop which has a view on Mt. Meru and surrounding neighbourhoods. The toilets/showers are very clean. The breakfast is part of the price. I liked the homy feel of the hostel and the whole neighborhood called Daraja mbili. At this location you feel more like experiencing the local life other then just the touristy places.

First Point Hostel is run by an amazing guy called Johnson. The rates are very favourable, the hostel is always clean complete with a backyard garden and fire place where one can pass time. Johnson runs the hostel together with his Mum and their very able helper, Sarah. They went out of their way to offer us dinner and breakfast during our stay there — they are very generous.

Mosquito nets are installed, fresh fruit and Tanzanian tea for breakfast.
Johnson is a very kind and helpful person. And the two baby cats just added to the nice atmosphere.
The place is a bit outside of town, where it is quiet and the air is fresh ;) moto taxis are right in front of the hostel.
