➜ Was at The Alfred Bed&Kitchen. Very nice contact, everything worked out perfectly. The old building rooms are huge and everything super clean. Always happy to return!
Well situated in the centre of Bern. Spacious rooms, garden area with chsirs, coffee on demand. Close to station would suit trainspottees but not too intrusive. Stephan very helpful and he bakes a mean complimentary muffin. Parking outside door or just a few metres away in undergroung car park. Great value.

A horrible experience: — very small, hot and stuffy rooms — as it is very noisy outside due to the train station next to the building, you can hear bangs and whistles of trains departing and arriving all night. While I was there other guests (from Germany) also complained about it. We couldn't get any sleep. — I spent 2 nights there. On the second day I didn't have any towels because they had just taken the ones in my room and they didn't bring new ones. When I contacted the owner (which was not so easy) he seemed aggressive and offended. I was traveling alone, and after the nasty text messages he sent me, I became a little afraid of him. Moreover, no one bothered to bring me at least one towel, which was terrible — I had a business meeting that day. — completely dirty and very old wardrobe — and outside the room — bathroom: leaking shower and something was wrong with the plumbing, after some time the water started to electrocute — there was no ironing board, but an old and cheap, malfunctioning iron — I had to iron on the chair — very poor Wi-Fi signal, especially on the upper floors — Late in the evening of the second day, I received a message from Booking. Com that the owner canceled my booking. When I tried to find out from him why he did it — he avoided answering, I was wondering if he would throw me out on the street — as he canceled my booking, I cannot leave a review on booking.
