Lovely rooms and a wonderfull restaurant and great cocktails! The breakfast is amazing!

Without any doubt one of the best hotels in Stockholm. In my opinion second to none. I like this hotel concept so much. So many years ago, I wanted to go to Stockholm, just found a reason and booked a hotel. Now I want to go to Rival, and I try to find a reason for that in Stockholm. Any excuse will do ;-)

A beautiful Hotel close to the city centre — great service fabulous food. Rooms are well appointed and the decor although quirky is designed I believe to make you feel happy — up there as one of my all time favourite hotels.

Great food and atmosphere in a charming part of Stockholm.

We received a free upgrade to a suite. I loved the morning on our own private patio overlooking the rooftops and a magical sunrise. There was no coffee machine in the room and the coffee in the breakfast room wasn't very good. Next time I will order cappuccino from room service for the morning. I will stay in this hotel again.

An excellent hotel on the Southern Island just across the water from the old town. Stylish rooms. We had a balcony facing the park which was great. Lovely bars and there is even a theatre there. Breakfast very good and staff excellent.

Beautiful hotel with a subtle ABBA theme. Stayed in a superior double with a balcony onto the inner courtyard. I'd recommend taking a drink on the 1st floor terrace overlooking the square, which is open to visitors too.

Awesome place to stay. Really great Jazz Club type vibe. Wonderful rooms with fantastic showers and baths. The buffet breakfast really tops it off well. We tried a wide variety and kept being amazed at how good it was — the sour dough was a particular highlight!

Didn't stay at the hotel but ate breakfast there. It was wonderful! While it is pricey, 225 kronor, it is worth it. Great selection at the buffet with the possibility of ordering special dishes at no additional cost. Wonderful view from the balcony in summertime.

Great cocktails in an elegant environment. Cafe Rival next door has a great breakfast menu with a French flair (croissants and cafe au lait anyone? ). It's got class, yet still down to earth. Oh, and there's a theatre too!

In a great location close to Old Town and other sights. Opposite a pretty square/park. Large bar and bistro popular place to be. Super breakfast with range of hot and cold choices. Staff very helpful. Standard room very clean and comfortable with everything you need. Highly recommended.

As a Stockholm tourist guide I had several tourists who stayed at the Rival Hotel. The location seems decentralized compared to other 4 * hotels but instead it is suitable for everyone who wants to stay downtown in a quiet location. In fact the road where there is the entrance of the hotel is practically closed to traffic. The rooms are modern and clean, the staff is prepared and the breakfast is great. A great experience for those who want to try a hotel other than the usual hotel chains.

Once a cinema/entertainment establishment, this has been Stockholm's first boutique hotel. Conveniently located just few steps from Mariatorget subway station, The Rival is a great place to stay in the Swedish capital. Colourful and glamorous room, very comfortable and equipped with all the amenities (i. E. There is a pillows menu and DVDs are available free-of-charge at the reception) PS If you are a "MICE" person looking for a venue, this could be the perfect location for your meetings!

Great HOTEL If it was to redo I would take the same. We had taken the standard room: very clean, well equipped, ultra quiet. Amazing breakfasts. Staff adorable: short: that happiness! Bravo! (Much to learn from Sweden in terms of hotel business! )

A favourite. Quality in details. Nice, solid room with sound system & great lightning. Perfect bed. Smooth shower. Quality breakfast with great view. Lovely Swedish service.

Loved it here. The room may have been a little small, but we were not in it that long. Place is really clean and the bar is cool. We are at the restaurant one evening and must say the food was lovely.

Great location in Söder. Many shopping facilities and restaurants within walking distance. Subway station right next to the small park at the front door. Great ambiance.

Hotel Rival was highly recommended and deservedly so. Beautiful hotel. Very nice rooms (reasonably sized). Right on a park and conveniently located. Friendly/helpful staff. And a great included breakfast. But there is no air conditioning in most rooms, and sometimes it was too warm in summer and hard to sleep without A/C.

Deluxe room with balcony overlooking the spacious and very quiet Mariatorget square with lots of storage. Comfortable bedding and pillows. Nice bathroom with shower and bathtub. Only downside: The toilets are not separated. The breakfast is perfect with a large selection of drinks, savoury or sweet foods and a la carte dishes.

We were staying in the hotel and wanted a nearby meal but found the food and service outstanding here. Very friendly and knowledgable service. Someone can seriously cook back there! Both the wine and food menu have clearly been put together expertly; lovely flavours. Recommended!

Very polite staff, the room has everything at all that you can only want. Even an umbrella!

Felt the hotel trying to become a boutique hotel, but the heart is too big, bad! Staff have given some mean, that there is no feeling of warmth, do not feel welcomed. Main activity areas in particular the eating Hall seating is very old, the room was good, but it feels there are garbage trucks in and out of the hotel and very noisy! I will not stay again this hotel, especially near the shop there was nothing fun, close to where many places are not close.

I loved my stay here but what will make it more memorable than almost any other hotel I've stayed in is the breakfast. I thought it was great.

Laid-back luxury best describes Hotel Rival. The suites are luxurious, movie-star glamorous and of a course a little bit disco. But it's the staff and the management that stand out. Attention is paid to the tiniest of details, the service exemplary and the front desk staff are quite possibly the nicest I've come across. Opt for a balcony room overlooking Mariatorget Square, it's just perfect.

OK, let me say from the start that I've never used the hotel facilities of this place but the bar is really nice. I believe the bar part of this hotel used to be an old movie theater which was renovated with an architecture decor of the 40's. If you like bars with a nice ambiance, I could not recommend a better place in Stockholm.

Stayed here for 2 days with my wife. The hotel is superb. I didn't sleep anywhere better than here. They have so good beds, pillows and all that stuff.

I love this hotel. Often stay here for business. Everything from the breakfast to the pillow menu is fantastic.
