Great cocktails and a fantastic atmosphere!

Recommended! Avalon hotel is conveniently located right in the city centre of Gothenburg. You have pretty much everything within walking distance.
We booked a "staycation-package" Deluxe on their website. It meant staying for one night in a Deluxe doubleroom with a private terrace including a three course dinner in the hotels restaurant.
The hotel: the whole interior of the hotel is designed with the celebration of arts in mind. And it's nicely done too. Cosy, welcoming and interesting! The staff was very friendly and serviceminded. The room itself was spacesous and clean and offered both a tub and separate shower, two comfortable lounge-chairs and a very comfortable bed. And of course a private terrace overlooking the rooftops of central Gothenburg. Perfect!
The restaurant: very professional and serviceminded staff. And a really nice three course meal! Far exceeded our expectations!
All in all, I can highly recommend you try both the hotel and the restaurant!

Beautiful hotel with excellent service. Well-designed rooms, surprisingly quiet given its central location, delicious included breakfast, comfortable beds, and fabulous rooftop terrace and pool. Not a family hotel, in the sense that rooms are not set up as such. Occasionally takes its hipness too seriously, but wow, this is a great place.

My visit went really smooth. Staff was super nice, got a cool room (with openable french balcony). Breakfast outdoors in the sun really topped off the stay.

It was quite a lot of food, one course was more than enough so I'm glad I didn't take the three course offer, fast service.

This hotel is located in the heart of the city, opposite the central market. The room costs from 200 dollars, and at the top there is the only room in town with an open glass pool.

The hotel is located in an excellent location and right in the heart of Gothenburgs city center, you got everything exactly near you like a pharmacy, lots of restaurants and bars, cinema, a canl and a train/bus stops. Gothenburg central station is 9 minutes walking distance amd the staff are really nice and helpful. The issue you might face especially on weekends is the noise you get all the way to your room from drunk people and music from the bar below, also the rug in the room looked old and a bit blackish. They also don’t do laundry on Saturdays and Sundays. Overall I'd recommend this hotel to anyone unless it's a weekend.

Best possible location. The rooms are a treat, high standard with great designs and designer features. The restaurang and the breakfast is absolute class.

If you wanna stay in central Göteborg this is a good choice. From an interior design point of view the Avalon has already seen its best days, it's really the location that makes this hotel — and the great breakfast buffet as well as the restaurant terrace from which you basically have the best view on all the beautiful people strolling up and down Göteborg's main shopping street.

I've been here once, and it wasn't all that impressive. The roof-pool is pretty awesome, with a fantastic view over Gothenburg, but the hotel itself isn't spectacular, really.

I had a drink at the bar. Good chill out music, comfy relaxed place.

Centraly located hotel, right in the old city. Freshly renovated. Overall it's a good and recommended typical Scandinavian hotel The. The only drawback was the low lighting in the room. The management went overboard trying to be green that it's hard to work in the room. Update: After 3 months I returned to the Avalon and was impressed that the lights in the room were dramatically improved. I am impressed with this hotel management.
