From the very beginning, the experience starts with the arrival.

This hotel sure is a "lot". Just look at the pictures. They chose a style and then went all-in for sure. All in all they achieved what they were going for though.

One of my most memorable experiences staying at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel in Gothenburg happened on a cold winter night.

Walkable distance (5 mins) from central station. 15 minutes walk to local ferries. Rooms were very clean including toilets. Large sitting places and surprisingly quiet for such a large hotel.

This was more than a pleasant surprise.

I have worked at a company based in Gothenburg/Molndal for more than 25 years and for the last 15 years have used the Avalon exclusively and it truly became my home away from home. Why? 1) The staff.

Shoutout to one of your receptionists (dark-haired lady, though I didn’t catch her name) who made me feel so welcome.

After a long trip finally arriving at the hotel late at night, we were welcomed by very friendly staff helping us check in to our room.
The room was excellent both in cleanliness and comfort.

It's a bit far from the city center but it's 2 blocks away from a gorgeous park which I value more.

My partner and I stayed at Hotel Royal in August this year. Since we have returned we have been busy with house renovations but I didn’t want to let the year end without writing a review of the hotel.

We thought our stay was absolutely fantastic, because it was as if we were brought back to 1859 through the hotel's interior, furniture and decorations that added a lot to our mental and emotional

Although we didn’t stay at the hotel, we had dinner at its restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. The setting is traditional and spacious, with a classic charm.

Very nice and cosy hotel central in Gothenburg. But something to keep in mind is that the beds are very soft but that is also the only thing we can say that we would change about the hotel.

This is an independent family-run hotel in an old building which gives it a lot of charm. The rooms have been renovated, but could use brighter lighting, including for the bedside lamps.

Beautiful grand hotel, the location is central and perfect for exploring Gothenburg. The city is very walkable, there is also a tram stop just across the road.

Beautiful old building, with funky modern touches. Very high quality room, fixtures and furniture. Breakfast in an odd unsuitable room (s) for the number of people. Very well located hotel.

The hotel is centrally and generally ok while the rooms are pretty small. The service is limited, there is a "barception" and room service would be only per 4 days.

What do some of the people writing reviews expect? It is cheaper than a lot of hotels in the area, that is why you chose it, so do not expect 5 star treatment.

Very nice hotel! The classic romantic style is very nice and the rooms are very good as well. Mine was a petite one and it was very spacious.

Mrs C and I took the private jet to Gothenburg for a mini break. I booked this hotel as it looked quirky, had good reviews and the Grand Curioso where I had stayed before was fully booked.

I was here for 2 weeks and I had a great stay! They were flexible allowing me an earlier checking, and also allowing my partners visit during the weekend (with a suppletory bed for a cheap price).

Good location and room was nice. Sadly as we entered there was a bad smell. It came from bathroom which apparently not been used for a while.

We were 12pers. Family rooms were nice and comfortable. Breakfast was good as it should be. Teens got free mocktails in the evening. Reception people were professional and kind!

Stayed at Scandic Crwon 2 nights August 31st — September 1st with family (wife and 9 year old) and a friend (mom and 13 year old) for a visit to Liseberg.

Nice breakfast. A bit full at peaktime so be in time or later (then 9 for us). Rooms were super soundproof we didnt hear a thing the time we were there. Great stay.

A word of warning to begin: This hotel and, I understand the entire Scandic group, has a 16.00 check-in. My room was available at 13.00 but they charged me SEK200 for early access.
