Very good hotel. Good service. Staff r very friendly. Buffet is a bit mediocre, but food was yum!

We went there for 2 days just after the Christmas day. We we’re staying in chalet Balcony. Rooms are very clean and much bigger room with nice bathroom. Had a personal balcony with superb view of the Uppaveli beach. Staff is very friendly and highly recommended. Foods are up to standard and lot of varieties to select in buffets Overall, a outstanding stay in Trnco Blu by Cinnamon.

Trinco Blu by Cinnaon has a wonderful beach, it’s a very calm place and perfect location.

I spent 5 wonderful days in this hotel and it was very good. Well-groomed territory, magnificent beach, hearty and varied breakfasts. The waitress Manohari and the cook Sanchu watched over me like family. I felt very comfortable with them. I felt sincere attention and care. The only point is why I should have been accommodated at an empty hotel under a room that is being renovated, it is not clear. When I rested on the balcony, soapy water poured on me, and plaster fell on me. But I was in a good mood, so these are trifles, but keep in mind for the future.

Excellent, efficient and friendly staff and hospitable services rendered by Trinco Blu during our stay 😊 We were there to celebrate our first anniversary and since we were served with excellent services in 2018, we chose the same destination to celebrate our fifth anniversary in 2022. F/B staff Sameef, Siva, Gobi, Nilani, Mithila provided us the best services always with a smile. Even the front office staff Roshan, who welcomed us and assisted us with our bagages at the time we were leaving. Thank you for your excellent services. We were at trinco blu for a stay in early July of '22. Surprised by the fantastic level of customer service. As JK staff we have been to all our properties extensivley but this was our first visit to Blu. It was by far the best customer service we've experienced at any of the JK resorts and even better than most other resorts we've been to. Fantastically friendly staff overall. Notable mentions would be Ms. Shobhana at rum house and Mr. Siva at the general restaurant. Even figured out it was my wifes birthday and brought out a small cake and the restaurant staff sang for her. All of us were surprised. Not just her! 😁 It's small additional things like this that makes a stay memorable. Hats off to the staff at Blu ❤️

My family visited Trinco Blu by Cinnamon on our vacation from Canada. We had a great time at this hotel. We enjoyed the clean pool and the walk alongside the beach. The buffet was excellent with variety of different types of food. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They come and check on you every so often to make sure everything is in order. The rooms were clean, very comfortable and great facilities. Foods are really good and well-organised. And the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. Specilay @Sanchu, @Manohari and @Sobana helped us in a various way on my Baby's food. They are really friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting. Don't worry about visiting here with your babies. They'll take care everything you need.

Great hotel in trincomalee with friendly staff. Perfect location for all attractions in trincomalee. Buffet with good variety and tasty food. Beach front villas have fabulous view of sea, specially in the time of sunrise. The beach is next to the resort and you can have sea bath any time you wish. We had great time here and Highly recommended to any one visit trincomalee.

Excellent services by the friendly staff yet the buffet is not the best for the price tag. It was 3 day vacation for me and my buddies. Beach is plus point rooms are clean and tidy. It was great to stay there, but the toilets are lack of space and toiletries bit cheap look. Otherwise staff are friendly great fresh food and love the Captains restaurant. Beach was awesome too.

Lovely beach in hotel property. The rooms are comfortable n decor pleasing. Breakfast in the hotel has good variety.

Great location, average rooms (a bit tired/ dated) compared to other hotels in the price bracket in other Sri Lankan resorts. Crab shack restaurant right on the sand, plenty of loungers in palm tree shade and a 30m pool. You can certain relax here and enjoy the beach with its bars and restaurants. You can watch the local fishermen haul in their catch on the beach everyday which is great to watch. We had the misfortune staying whilst USS Anchorage was in town and the crew were bussed in every day for pool and beers, turning the place into a frat party venue!

We visited in July and the weather was pretty perfect, it was hot and sunny. The hotel has an awesome pool which the kids loved. The beach is so so but as Australians we are hard to please in that department. The only small negative were the room and balcony sizes. Ask for a ground floor room, those balconies were much better. The buffet breakfast was reasonable and the lunches were fine. We ate outside the hotel the 3 nights we were there. We went along the beach a couple of times and went out the back of the hotel the other. Generally the experience was good but certainly this part of SL is not as tourist focussed yet and that was reflected in the restaurants. But I am sure this will improve and the tourist numbers grow. We did the snorkeling trip to pigeon island. It was average. If you want to see reefs come to Australia and go to the great barrier reef.

A good hotel compared to the other hotels in Trincomalee. Service is good but the hotel is a little old. Recommended to book Deluxe rooms with Sea view as Superior rooms have very standard amenities. Food is good. Beach is a little touristic, ideal for a family.

Nigel and I have stayed here many times, the first time was 1999 when we visited Sri Lanka with our family. Nigel and I return as often as possible we stayed last October with a friend. The Hotel Staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Buffet is served and provides great choice of food. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. My favourite rooms are the Chalets on the beach, we are returning in October this year and I am really looking forward to celebrating my birthday with you all.

Rated as a four star hotel. But with the service and the friendly staff add the remaining star. Booked a beach Chalet, which gives you nice view of the eastern sea and the sunrise. Really loved the place.

Dream. Rooms all with great view, large satin pool with beach connected to the ocean, beach spotless and with good service. Good breakfast buffet, a bit repetitive for dinner. Don't miss a trip to Pigeon Island.

Cinnamon is maintaining their standards. nice pool by the beach for those who wants the beach experience but to be safe. scuba diving facilities r there for those who wants some adventure. the buffet was not great with many selections but was tasty a nice spacious lobby does have a good spa with genuine therapeutic massage. frienfly atmosphere a nice place for a family weekend.

We booked and paid online for a beach chalet, but upon checking in they put us in regular rooms. After several hours we figured out their mistake but management didn't offer any apologies. Dinner buffet has very limited choices and really expensive. Hardly any offering of authentic srilankan food. Room towels are quite old and stained. Property is big and scenic. If you stay here eat lunch and dinner off premises.

The rooms are good and clean. The boys are thankful for a pair of cigarettes. For dinner, you get earthy tasting tap water, as a only drink, free of charge? The! Half board! The basement, want to sell your expensive paid quiet water or alcoholic drinks! Since 2 bottles of 0.5 are delivered to the room every day, we have taken them to dinner, as drinks purchased from outside may not be brought to the restaurant. The attention of the waiters, then left from the first to the last day to be desired, there will be no paid drinks, ordered. The Indian curry, is so spicy that one does not taste, it is chicken, fish or meat! The non-curry dishes are all boiled or fried. The Cheese platters! Imported cheese was a glimpse of light. The buffet and dining room, video is monitored! Eating three weeks outside the hotel becomes too costly. The hotel grounds are not hygienic, there are still crows, dogs and cats problem. The Crows wake you up at 5 o'clock, the dogs are lying on the terrace in front of the patio door or on the deck chair on the terrace. The Cats are no problem, they just beg. The Chipmunks are beautiful to look at. There are 5 parasols on the beach that were not ready for operation. So we lay under the tree or palm where we have bombarded the Crows! In the morning the beach is clean, the tide has all the Exkeremente, from the dogs and cows to the sea drawn. The water is agitated, even 50m further while snorkeling, the view is only 1m.

Nice hotel. I would even say the best in Trincomalee! Recommend. The pool is only small. The beach itself is nice but not the best. The beach is better in Pasikue.

I’m not too sure my understanding is right but when it comes like Cinnamon plus something that experience is great but when it comes something plus Cinnamon it’s not up to the expectations… This place is definitely not the place for seafood though it’s located near to the beach. Sometimes I think I may have ate more seafood than here in Cinnamon Citadel Kandy. Average hotel with world renowned brand.

The hotel is basically good and the staff are friendly. Food was variable. However the reason I can only give it 2 stars is because not only do they put 10% service charge on absolutely everything but they then put on another 30% tax on everything. An extra 40%+ on everything is simply unacceptable. No other hotels we stayed in during our 27 day tour charged this tax. Rip off, don't use it.

Hello Trinco blu, I am a guest staying at your resort and I am very involved with ocean conservation. We have come from Australia to swim with blue whales and we have noticed there is a lot of plastic rubbish in the ocean. I also observed you use a lot of plastic water bottles every day in the rooms. In Australia it is very fashionable now to have clean water filters and fountains and people refill their stainless steel water bottles each day with this water. You can include the water fountains in public areas like the reception area and bar and restaurant for guests to use. Tourists are preferring eco tourism, sustainability and recycling so it would be in your best interest to start this trend here in Trincomalee and protect the whales from the plastic. Cleaning up your beaches should also be a priority as it reflects better on the resort. I saw a lot of plastic bottles from the resort and straws on the beach and this is a waste. Paper straws are better as they compost. I hope you can start moving towards less plastic and more recycling and show a good example to the rest of Trincomalee. The tourists would love it and we would happily return if you show you are becoming more eco friendly. Thankyou and kind regards Kristina.

Very good hotel. Nice staff! Food lacks sophistication for it's class. The rooms we had was very far from the restaurant but quite nice! Only issue was the outdoor shower always has dirt if it rains.

Friendly, helpful staff. Sun beds and towels organised by helpful young man. The buffet meal was delightful. Fresh salads to start and tasty Sri Lankan delights for main meal. Fresh fruit or deserts to follow. Would certainly recommend it. Keep up the good the good work.

Overall not bad! ) on arrival to the island and passing all formalities with documents, luggage, etc. (where that 1, 5 hours), we were waiting for a tour of the roads of the island, quite wonder (a trip to the hotel for 4, 5 hours). The location of the hotel is good (not so far from the city) the exterior and interior looks quite modern and aesthetically pleasing! The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is quite not bad, varied (there are both traditional dishes and European, etc. ). The room was clean and tidy. The beach is nice (there are waves) in the room everything is practical, functional and cozy, there is nothing superfluous. The only thing is a little boring (especially nothing to have fun) most tourists are older people (who love a quiet and relaxing holiday)

The beach is full of plastic and other garbage. The hotel needs to pay more attention to this since they are earning off of this. It's so dirty you don't want to get in.

It's very nice. Ambiance is very good. Service is good. At par with star hotel facilities. Sea is very close to the cottages. One can enjoy sea from rooms itself. If again I visit Sri Lanka I visit only Trincomalee and stay in this hotel.

Nice atmosphere. Clean and spacious rooms. The restaurant is nice and clean and the food is actually not bad. Good place for a vacation. Plenty of places to visit around the hotel. A near by place offers snorkeling and scuba diving (just next to the hotel).

The rooms were a little small but very modern furnishings and clean, lateral sea view. The pool with direct sea view, beach clean. Buffet with huge choice, several barbecue stations, all very tasty! When we were there, there were several French tour groups, who unfortunately came across the large open restaurants quite loudly.

A very good hotel by the beach… the staff were very courteous. The breakfast and dinner spreads were great… They arrange for whale watching and other activities if need be. All the rooms have a beach view… We had a great time staying here.

All round a very pleasant place to stay. The food is good, the service is good with typical warm smiles and lots of kindness. The combination of 30m pool and beachfront aspect is wonderful, both are good without being great. Oddly the red flags on the beach didn’t seem to come with any lifeguard on duty, they must be ‘advisory’ for the best location. The rooms are clean and acceptable for appointments (safe, coffee/tea making), bathroom clean and beds comfortable. To the animal topic mentioned sometimes, this didn’t much bother us but I’ll mention it for info 1 — The pool attendant had a slingshot system for the odd hungry black bird (seemingly common to all island Resorts) He worked hard and was somewhat effective, just don’t walk too far away from your poolside food as they are persistent. 2 — there was one small cat roaming unobtrusively around the outside dining area, but not bothering anyone. 3 — a cautious local stray dog did venture within a few metres of our poolside chairs, he just looked wantonly at us for something to eat before being moved off by the pool attendant. Altogether though there was nothing to complain about but it’s not so remarkable to want (IMHO) the prices being asked. It wasn’t peak season but we still paid too much considering the quality of resort, and it is at the end of a 5.5 hr drive.

Very nice hotel. Rooms are interesting with specific decorations. Our room was close to the beach and it was amazing. The beach was clean and wild. You can see some fishermans here. Everywhere there are palm trees with coconuts. Food very tasty.

Pros: Nice location with ample outdoor space. A long and safe beach just outside the hotel keeps you busy for hours. Food is good with nice variety. Cons: Shore needs a lot of cleaning. Better to upgrade the rooms with RFID keycards. The heavy and large set of keys are so inconvenient.

Hotel room pool those are was good. But more than the good I would say so many things made me angry. We were there for two days and got too rooms. Staff was tooooooo arrogant especially the hotel manager anura was arrogant and stupid… Food they and have sea food and rice was burnt and food din taste at all. India chef khan specially made biriyani for us. I won't recommend this hotel to anyone.

I have stayed at this hotel many times understand its various names, Club Oceanic, Cheap Blu and now Trinco Blu. It has never failed to make a very enjoyable visit to Trinco Very comfortable and with excellent food and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Cleanliness is a bit low. And staff attentiveness is also a bit low for a 4 star. The beach was also not very private. There were also crows bathing by the poolside, their feathers we floating in the pool. The pool attedent was not present for towels, wasn't doing his job maintaining the pool and keeping the crows away!

Nice hotel on a beautiful beach. Several dive centers nearby. Beach restaurant serves acceptable dishes where European cuisine is better than Asian. Inexpensively cheap. Main courses from about 700 LKR. Nearby several local restaurants. Recommended on Fernando's Bar beach about 100 metres away. The beach is also suitable for smaller children, as flat sloping. Mostly — like probably everywhere in Sri Lanka — bigger waves.

The experience was brilliant. Would recommend any tourist visiting Trincomalle to plan their stay here. The beach view and the sunrise was off the charts.

The place is good with swimming pool and we can enjoy the beach. The food also good but the selection is less compare to other hotels that fall into this category. Rooms are quite big and has old look, may be constructed long time back. The service by the hotel people also good. If you are going from colombo for this hotel stay only, then it may be less worthy to spend the time to travel from colombo and I'll recommend to stay some hotels in down south for the same price.

It's a really cool place with a wide choice of delicious desserts and scrumptious main courses, cozy bed rooms and splendid service. The swimming pool is certainly as long as a river with a baby pool and nearby showering cubicles. In addition, you get a spectacular view of the beach and the surrounding coastal areas. Great Hotel… But very expensive.

Went for a holiday. When booking the place we did not expect much. But on arrival, we realized that it is well worthy for the money. Facility is very clean (Except very early morning, before cleaning) Well spaced, good customer care, room we stayed were excellent. Food was very good. They offer whale watching and pigeon island trips including snorkeling. If comes as groups, it is cheaper for those boat rides. Overall very nice experience.

Great place. The beach is the best as you can go in to the water a great distance with a kid. However, the restaurant was open and hence it was very warm. A place I would want to visit again.

We stayed for 3 nights at 100$ per night including taxes for a triple room with breakfast. The room is clean, there was a real shower, unlike many Sri Lanka lower-star hotels. The breakfast was good with large choice of foods. Very comfortable pool. The hotel is located right on the beach. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

I visited this hotel mid July 2015 with the family and had probably they worst hotel experience ever. It took us 8 hours to get from our previous location to Chaaya Blu so once I got there late evening I fell asleep, thank fully the light was left on. The next morning I was on my laptop trying to connect to their Wi-Fi when I saw a little bug on my bed. I took a napkin and killed it and had a closer look. It was very small but looked like a bed bug. I then called my dad to my room and we picked up the mattress where there was a much bigger bed bug which ran inside the bed frame. Once taking off the covers I noticed another. So it was safe to say this bed was infected. We then removed the covers on my sisters bed and found the same problem. Because the light was left on thankfully I didn't turn into a feast for the bed bugs. We immediately called the front desk and made a complaint. They were telling us they will replace the beds and so on but at this point I was not going to stay at this hotel so I asked for the manager to resolve this issue. The clean up crew arrived and one of them had informed us that they had this bed bug issue in this room before. So I am shocked that they would even give it to us before making sure it was completely clean. We waited an 50 minutes and the manager had not shown yet. So we made sure there were no bed bugs in our opened suitcases took our things and left to the front desk. Where we waited for the manager to arrive.

Visited chaya blue in April 2015 with the family. Good location and hospitality. However must point out that the bed for my daughter was not ready and the room floor was not adequately cleaned. Eventually one young fella bought in a dirty mattress with holes. I indicated to him that this is not acceptable and indicated my dogs in Melbourne, Australia sleep on a better mattress than the one the hotel was providing. He did not pay attention to me. So I was forced to call Atken Spence in Colombo After few hrs bed was replaced with new matress. Tried to talk to guest realations manager but was not successful. Room was tiny and I am not sure whether the term superior can be used for the product. I think house staff need training and the hotel must consider destroying old and dirty mattresses. The auditors of the hotel are not doing their job.

Am even travel consultant, special venue travel pilot from Hamburg and was at the Chaaya blue hotel to test and to gain experience.
Is one really offers a recommendation for a vacation on the East coast of Sri Lanka for families and couples, even for a few days during a tour of Sri Lanka.
In front of the hotel there is a small road massages with Geschäftsen un d, already in 5 minutes on foot to reach. Trincomalle is also not far away and offers for half a day to wander around. Give more tips of OLAF.
