Judging a hotel by them following their standard processes (e. G. Cleaning, food, pool and so on) is important but what is even more important is what kind of help you as a guest get when something falls outside the normal routines. We visited Iberostar Cristina in July this summer (i. E. 2017) and during our stay our 3 year old daughter was diagnosed with pneumonia. It’s not easy as parents to have a very ill child in the hospital and at the same time handling all practicalities (e. G. Extending the stay during high season) for the rest of the family but we got excellent help from hotel management and their staff! Thankyou everybody for helping us with this! I would also like to thank the wonderful staff at the local hospital (Son Llàtzer). Doctors coming up from the emergence department after the patient has been moved to another department, just for checking up on us is a wonderful sign that they care! We appreciate this very much! So perhaps my review of the hotel might be colored by above facts, but I’ll try to be as objective as possible: We’ve stayed at Iberostar hotels before (even though not at Cristina here in Palma) so we knew what to expect. It’s really hard to find anything bad which they can/need to improve so I concentrate on mentioning the parts where they excel and then I first would like to mention the staff at the kids club. Day after day (and evenings) they are there for the kids doing a wonderful job entertaining them! The cleaning staff also do a very good job. Every day our rooms was super nice after they cleaned, leaving nothing at all to complain at. Also I guess that the hotel has been refurbished not too long ago. As we stayed longer than expected we stayed in three different rooms, and all three were very well maintained. The sun beds by the pool is always a problem during high season at any hotel. However, this was not as bad as expected. You could easily go to breakfast (at 9) and expect to find some vacant even at 10. Later during the day it did fill up but again it was not as bad as seen at many other hotels. You can borrow pool towels from the hotel (€10 deposit) and have them changed every day. The gym was not very big but still most often not very crowded and the same goes for the indoor pool which was most often completely empty. Finally a few words about the food. The breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets are rich with a wide variety of food. It’s always fresh and taste good, but after 10 days it does get monotonous. Try to get a table outside, because (as this is a family hotel with many children) it gets very noisy during peak hours.
