I find it shameful that in this day and age … in the midst of the pandemic… do not return the hotel money of a planned trip to Barcelona the last week of March when we were already in full state of alarm and of course without being able to go out on the street … much less go to a hotel on the other side of Spain.
We will continue to fight for our money… because it is OUR MONEY, for something we have not been able to enjoy …
A TERRIBLE management in these times …
Of course I will not think of booking with you ANYTHING else.
I thought that what we have been through would change us… it would make us more humble more human… how wrong I was. Here many continue to move for their interests…

Recently stayed at Chic & Basic Ramblas and loved it! The hotel had everything we needed, including a fantastic location! Didn’t eat in the hotel but the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return.

In general, unusual design, original design of the entrance to the room, designer furniture. Original shower location, beautiful lighting. Our room has no windows, but others have balconies, which is not critical for us. Delicious hearty breakfast. Friendly responsive staff. Around the clock in the recreation area there is bottled water, tea, coffee, milk, cookies. We loved it!

This place is unique, lovely old building but contemporary inside. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The beds are very comfortable and the glass shower cubicle in the bedroom is so good! The glass beaded curtains and LED mood lighting make the room look great! The location is excellent being within walking distance of the beach and the Gothic quarter.

Great hotel, came to Barcelona for work, and this place was great. The room was nice, it had a comfortable bed, TV, and atmospheric lighting which you could change to match your mood, there was also a communal area with free coffee, very friendly staff, would come again.

A super hotel to my liking — unconventional and yet very luxurious and cosy. Very nice staff, small but very tasty breakfast and an ideal location for a versatile Barcelona visit. I will certainly be back. Really estupendo!

Lovely friendly staff, a nice wee bar and lounge area, and brilliantly designed rooms, many with a small terrace overlooking the street. The design is quirky, cool, modern. Particularly liked the quiet area with free coffee and tea and lots of interesting design books. The location is excellent, very close to the park and in a relatively quiet part of Born that is still easy walking distance to the touristic centre, and with plenty of good bar and food options within a few minutes walk. Highly recommended!

Great value for money. Great bar downstairs with nice beers on tap and cocktails. Staff were super friendly. The rooms are basic but comfortable enough, just make sure you get a balcony room as I saw some listed are 'internal rooms' so assume they don't have windows?! There's also chill out areas with complimentary coffee, biscuits and design / foodie magazines which we really appreciated. We were recommended to stay in Born from a friend from Barcelona and loved the area, so many great restaurants etc nearby and a tasty tapas joint just two doors down. Would definitely return here and have already recommended to a couple of friends.

The attention of 10 and central location with easy access to tourist spots and metro lines. Self-service coffee/tea/water with biscuits at any time.

Location: Awesome staff: Very very friendly drinks: coffee unbelievable good! Best in the city — also the Caipi room: already well used and renovierungsbedürfrig — mattresses good — smells a little moist — so be careful, so take earplugs with the price performance of the location and that in Barcelona — fits!

Well located in the Born district. Room glamorous, large, convenient but little space for storage. Friendly staff Corner "Be yourself" very nice. Breakfast until 12:00! A little expensive €9

A modern hotel with privacy. I don't give it five stars because the hair dryer was disgusting. It was as impaired and sticky. And he was too old. The rest of the room perfect. And amazing service.

We came to visit the Arc de Triomphe and the Parc of the Citadel and only stop to take a coffee. By the way, the coffee was terrific.

Nice hotel in good location, very clean. However, some of the facilities are somewhat over the years and the rooms are too noisy. The bed was very comfortable, the service always accommodating. Very nice is the free coffee and the water.

I dont understand all the positive comments here. Our room is a dark, dingy square as big as the bed, you cannot even open the door completely because th bed is right there. The bathroom was filthy and towels of really bad quality. The free coffee area was dirty and I haven’t seen any cleaning staff the whole time I was there. This is not a boutique hotel! It isn’t a hotel at all. A very expensive, poorly taken care off hostel would better describe this place.

Very nice and good looking hotel. The rooms are quite small, but very good looking. Comfortable beds, looks new and clean with room service. Free Coffee and water which was really nice in the heat. The rest of the hotel was inviting and nice looking. All of the people working there had a big smile and made you feel at home. The breakfast was very nice with a lot to choose inbetween. Even vegan choises. Very price worthy.

The hotel is not in the greatest part of Gothic Quarter and it's a little dinky, but it's easy to walk to all the good stuff. There was a little balcony which was nice and the hotel also provides free coffee from a Nespresso and free bottled water. We couldn't watch any television, it had only radio. But the guys who work the front desk are cool, they are there 24 hours. Very close to arc de triomphe.

Great location and romantic rooms.

We spent a night there. The room was clean although it was basic. Not had receptionist although have a system that you allow enter at any time. They have an area of coffee, tea and biscuits, which is great.

For me a great home on time! Well located for all sorts of discoveries in Barcelona.

Nice concept and interior.

The location is great and the Jaume I metro station is close by. I could easily walk to areas like the Gothic Quarter, the Arc de Triomf and Placa Catalunya. The design is really edgy and unique with multi-colored lighting in the corridors and rooms, all white interiors in the rooms and the concept of designing your own room by adjusting the lighting and placing the multi-use furniture as you like. So the first day I walked into a pink hued room and the next day I fancied blue lighting! A back rest doubles up as a side table if placed differently and the center table can be detached and used as a breakfast tray or work desk. The design scores highly on originality and functionality. There was a glass shower in the center of my room and a nice balcony looking out on the street. They have common areas spread out in the hotel and they're nice spaces to chill out after a long day, work or read. The hotel is perfect for independent travelers and couples who want to experience something other than a standard hotel. Staff is very helpful and gave me some good recommendations for my first day in the city.

Very nice staff and friendly. Coffee tea cake and bottle of water available. Very surprised the room clean towel SOAP available. Bed very comfortable. Nothing to tell nearby park zoo old port city centre full of shops and restaurant place catalonia a 5 min walk to metro bus. Aerobus. Super back surely in this hotel.

Reception is separate from the entrance which can be confusing upon arrival. The hotel itself is all's a bit of a rabbit warren, rooms are not east to find the first time. Each room has a coloured lit doorway with beads extending into the hall, so it's tight squeezing by. The rooms themselves as small but stylish and nicely laid out. Other reviews complained about the noise at night, I had an inside room which was very quiet, so if you are a light sleeper that is something to bear in mind. The reception does good coffee and is a relaxed spot to hangout.

Beware — booked this place online only to find it is nothing like the pictures. My room is in an annex a good five minutes walk away, completely unmanned, where you have to wait on the street for the main reception to buzz you in. I was told the door to the annex would be unlocked until 11pm but, tonight, it was locked when I came back at 8, so had to call the hotel to let me in. Room is OK — certainly nothing like the pictures, and not worth 170 euros. Walls like paper (kept awake by next door room giggling and someone creepily walking on the exterior balcony outside my room) and TV the size of a stamp. Very small and dark, too — just about fine for a single person but I think a couple would struggle.

Stayed for a few nights, prior to the MWC 2014. They charged us double the normal price, and after complaining about the non functioning hairdryer, the scaffolding in front of the window that took away all sunlight and the hardly working lock on the door they were quite rude. I asked for getting at least breakfast (9€/person) included in the way to expensive rate, I was basically told to stay with them or sleep on the street because of the MWC. Room would have been fine at around 70€/night, but for 150€/night it was just a scam. + Location + free water bottles.

When I post an opinion I do aside from everything according to the price… If I pay €80 for a single room in the District of el Born, which I love, because I can only say that it is a small hotel luxury. I liked his eco philosophy with respect to the guest. It is modernist and offer an area free of coffee, tea, water… that is appreciated but not in use… The rooms are cool and fun. I repeat!

I booked a room for my parents, and, must say that inspite of its appealing look, the utilities were mostly broken! Still remember the shower with no cold water running through, and no fresh air coming into the room! My parents were very umconfortable. However, the worse part was when they went into the reception and reclaimed for the price of the room and the hotel did not pay attention to them (they had to pay for the whole price). If anybody asks me about this hotel, I would NEVER SUGGEST IT. Moreover, room wasn´t ready till 15:00! Very disappointing.
