Attention to detail, friendly, passionate and professional staff. The nature drive was excellent. And loved my bunch of handpicked fynbos flowers. The fine dining was an experience to remember. Perfection. It was a breathtaking experience.

Wow such an awesome place, stunning views, great food, perfect rooms, very good activities and then the staff. The staff is just brilliant, friendly people caring about all your needs and making you really feel at home.
Do yourself a favor and put this on your bucket list.

Loved every minute even though it rained non stop and we went into lockdown level 4. The staff made sure we had all our delicious meals served to our room. The spa was great. Plants life is incredible 9000 species. All hotel facilities beautiful with breathtaking views. One recommendation…. Please get a few golf carts … to help staff and disabled guests.

Superb place beautiful room delicious plate and impeccable service! When you love nature the calm the fabulous sunsets it is a place that must be seen imperatively. In addition from Cape Town the road is beautiful from the inside as well as from the coast. We did a horseback ride and massages (fine) and went on our own to the beautiful beach, but many distorted things are also offered.

We had the most Magical weekend at Grootbos. Everything was amazing, the hotel, the staff, the food and excursions! Very Family friendly too! We Loved every moment!

We had a hike in Grootbos and were hosted by the most helpful, friendly and enthusiastic personnel. The scenery was breathtaking and I was “kapoet”! This is a must for everybody that enjoys nature and hiking — avec Joyce De Jager.

Beautiful, luxury spacious suites, with all you need to have a fabulous time. Excellent activities to enjoy the beautiful reserve, hikes, pony treks, visits to see caves, whales and more. The fine dining meals are really great, and nothing is too big an ask! The staff is excellent, all of them, well done Mandy and team!

Everything at Grootbos is perfect! View, food, room, facilities, staff and our special guide : Jo! An amazing experience that was too short … The landscape is stunning, walker Beach is wonderful … We enjoyed every single minute! There are some special place on Earth of which you can only fall in love! Grootbos is one of those!

Amazing place in the melkhout Forrest.

Grootbos was sensational. We had high expectations, and it certainly did not disappoint. We had an excellent guide, Christoff who brought his passion and enthusiasm for nature and the incredible sustainability work the Grootbos team are doing, to life. From the magical Milkwood forest walk to working our way through the Fynbos, the quality of the guiding was superb. The accommodation was terrific, the food was delicious, and Princess who advised us on our wine choice was very knowledgeable and lovely.

The rooms were absolutely amazing, big ups to the house keeping team, everything about this lodge is environmental friendly, it shows thy practice sustainability and the staff is very friendly, you can literally talk to them about anything, Best service ever!

We went to Grootbos for our honeymoon and it was all round the most perfect, romantic experience. We loved every second of it.

Stunning views and great food. Really enjoyed the Fynbos and Honey ice cream. Staff also fantastic, a must see place.

Was an absolutely wonderful holiday! The food was delicious and made from excellent produce. The accommodation was clean and beautifully decorated. The staff were very good. The trips outside the reserve was beautiful. The entire area is breathtaking. You can’t believe such beauty exists on your doorstep. Definitely be returning to Grootbos. Hikes were good but need a bit more care. Hiking routes a bit overgrown and neglected. But the views make up for it.

This is one of the most serene places I have visited in my years of travel. The staff is top notch. They go out their way to help you out in whatever they can. By far the best kids club and attendants I have ever seen in a 5 start establishment. The chef here has to be probably one of the best in the world! The food was out of this world. I highly recommend this place if you haven’t already been here. I will surely go again.

Simply the best place! A visitor to South Africa owes it to themselves to spend a couple of days. Capturing the little moments of this spectacular place … to learn about the nature and surroundings, to eat the food and explore something so special. It everyone knows about it!

Grootbos is by far my favourite break-away treat! It feels like you're visiting an enchanted forest. It is sooo beautiful & peaceful. Location, food & service all rate 12/10.

5 star venue. Perfect for a wedding. Staff are beyond fantastic. Food is absolutely top quality. Activities are great — best for the more physically fit. Once in a life time place to visit. Pure magic!

This was a very beautiful and secluded private lodge. The views were amazing from the pool deck area as well as in the rooms. The food was really good at the lodge and the manager was a very personable person who made sure we were happy with the food! The customer service could have been better there. We had to wait a while for someone to take our order most of the time and many of the waiters weren’t very familiar with the menu. When asked about a certain item, they weren’t able to explain what was in the dish, which made me not want to order it. I will say, the burger on the menu is outstanding! One of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. It was nice they gave us a list of excursions to participate in. We signed up for shark cage diving and it was worth it. I definitely recommended doing this, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. We saw 3 different great white sharks that day. Overall, we had a good experience at the Grootbos private lodge.

If you are a nature lover then you should give Grootbos a visit. They habe hundreds of fynbos varieties. Some that you can only find in this reserve. A 4x4 nature tour is a must. The different lodges are all amazing. I stayed in one of the villas. The views from the villas are breathtaking. The staff are very friendly and the service is amazing.

My 5th visit and Grootbos never fails to impress. Well worth a visit :)

5 stars all the way for Grootbos. My partner and I were Married here a few days ago and we’re still in awe of the location set in a private reserve, the accommodations, the staff and their 5 star service and the cuisine is world class. One of my top 5 places to stay in the world!

What an amazing lodge. We stayed in the villa with friends and had the most incredible relaxing weekend. Special mention has to be made of the art in the villa which we thoroughly enjoyed and rivals many gallery collections. Definitely try the spa, we loved it. The reserve is also great for running (if a little steep once you head up the hills). The perfect treat for a relaxing weekend away. Pricey but definitely worth it.

This exceptionally good hotel belonged to me as the best hotel we have ever had. The beautifully equipped bungalow in the Milkywood forest with a wonderful view is fantastic. Well thought out in the décor, elegant and welcoming, you will feel right at ease. That luxury bathroom a dream. There is even a second smaller bathroom. The service throughout the area is fantastic, all the food — from breakfast to dinner — from selection to presentation very good. Also the (leisure) offer is wonderful. The champagne in the House by the Sea on the terrace Unforgotten. The foundation makes very sense. The surroundings and the tranquility of a dream — you can only feel comfortable in this top house. I don't exclude a return.

A dream place, immersed in nature's greenery with fantastic views and amazingly beautiful apartments.
The restaurant, then, is very good level, flanked by a winery more than pleasant.
I spent three unforgettable days, absolutely recommended.

We spent a special surprise weekend to celebrate my birthday with friends and family in this magical place. The room was outstanding with many thoughtful details and extra birthday treats. The staff (especially Fortunate) could not do enough for us and the meals and drinks were excellent for adults and children alike. Our nature guide, Ross, was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about this special place and made an extra effort with the children. They were captivated as were we and in love with their fynbos "cakes"! I must also mention the massage to beat all massages skilfully carried out by Mirko. Unfortunately he declined my offer to come home with me! All in all a wonderful experience in every way which I hope to be able to enjoy again in the future. Thank you to the whole Grootbos team!

Great place, great kitchen and wonderful rooms, staff very kind and prepared! The chef is very good!

A bit out there but worth the extra time. Acres of fynbos. Fabulous whale watching, shark tank diving. Wonderful gift shop filled with treasures from local artists. Excellent food and service. A great place to relax.

Top Hotel, I would immediately go against it. Great ambiance, wonderful rooms (bungalow), quiet and dreamlike evening moods.

Top food, wines, staff not to mention the sunset and the view from the Terase.

Very beautiful and great staff, hope to visit again soon.
