Scamming guests to get the covid test so they will be able to visit eachother in the room then surprise them that they can't and aren't allowed to do so. Not to mention the very rude way of dealing with the guests … worst experience ever.

Very luxurious professional staff one of the best hotels I ever stayed at the food was very very good.

Accessible location, neat and clean, well-lit, accommodating staff, safe, with an ample variety of food for breakfast, welcome drinks and thank you for the complementary fruits in the room. The bed is spacious and comfy, clean towels with good smelling bathroom amenities. Overall, IHG hotels provide recommendable hotels and I always love staying in Holiday Inn makati. You would love to visit and revisit.

I like because of proximity to the shops. The staff are polite. Service is excellent. Security is strict on entering. Perhaps staff could speak louder and clearer. Had trouble understanding. They should be able to speak and explain just like the customer service. Instead, of speaking he kept pointing at conveyor. But my bag is already in the conveyor?. … Don't I look stupid…

Service is over the top. Can't really describe their warmth and hospitality. Experience it for yourself.

Elevator looks and sounds dated
Watermelon in circles tastes bland for 2 consecutive weekends now (including ASEAN Sunday last week)
No milk tea (you know, India, Thailand, etc) in circles. Again, no major cons. Excited to come back.

— Service has fallen. We left room in the morning and we came back to it and it was not cleaned and toiletries were not replenished. Unacceptable for a 5 star hotel
— Had to ask 3 times for toiletries
— Crib is too deep for infants. They do not have the shallow tray you put on top of crib.
— Staff is not as corteous as before.

All the staff are accommodating and very nice. Sitting at the mezzanine while listening to the piano playing is very relaxing. Perfect for quality time together with your loved one. What really touched us in our stay is the surprise complimentary gift we received for our anniversary. It was soo sweet. Would highly recommend this hotel. Wonderful Weekend (the package we had during our stay is perfect for family to get to relax and bond. We almost had 2 days of stay since the package includes early check-in at 10am and late check out at 4pm. Plus the dining credit which we used in our dinner at the Circles. So worth it!

The hotel and rooms are very nice, the two restaurants we frequented for breakfast and Sage for dinner we're exceptional. The location in Makati City makes it very convenient to local restaurants and several shopping malls (if you're into shopping). What really made my eight day stay fantastic was the staff. They are all very friendly, helpful, and genuinely care that their patrons are enjoying their stay. Based on my recent trip, I know where I'm staying on my next visit to Manila, it's worth considering on yours as well.

Stayed for ten days in Shang and it was the greatest vacation I had locally and my very first time to travel by myself. I admit the price is quiet high however there are some things in life that must be paid for at a higher price because of its value. The food is amazing and has a wide selection of cuisine from around the world in Circles Event Cafe', paid for a buffet for two for ten days but my partner wasn't able to make it cos of his business, too bad it's non-refundable. But my stay was a memorable one, the staffs are friendly and accommodating. Definitely wants to come back pretty soon!

This hotel is stunning from the moment that you get out if the car. They make you feel very safe and extremely welcome. I was there for close to a month and they were able to provide for any request that I had. The hotel was always spotless and the food is amazing at all times. I HIGHLY recommend staying at this hotel as it's also in a great location in Makati. I can't thank the staff enough for the amazing time that I had while I was there. I hope that I can visit again and stay here. The only thing I would give a heads up on, if you order a steak and like it cooked medium, order it medium well and it will come out perfect. If you order it medium, it comes out medium rare. I noticed that everywhere I went, not just the hotel.

Every staff of this hotel is very accomodating and friendly compare to Edsa Shangrila. I will definitely recommend Makati Shangrila to my friends. Hospitality at its finest. More power.

I've always considered Shang to be a good venue for events and for dining out, and the staff is usually always friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the lady manning the events desk this afternoon was snotty. She had just finished talking to someone when we approached her to ask about an event we were having. She curtly told us to wait without even looking up from what she was writing. As if that wasn't enough, we were told we couldn't conduct an ocular because there was a private event at the room we were supposed to see that day. We managed to see other rooms, but what happened left a bad taste in the mouth. We weren't expecting any royal treatment really, but at least be approachable and warm to everyone who approaches the desk. It's really off-putting considering Shang's good reputation.

Everything was good but I have a feedback on the fragrance you use. I first was given a room and immediately upon entering there was a smoky smell and I thought it was the previous occupant smoking so I requested for a change of room. It was better upon changing but the very next day after housekeeping I got the same smoke smell. Then I knew it must be one of the fragrance your using. Very unpleasant. Might just be my personal preference.

Beautiful hotel, very friendly staff. Loved the fresh fruit in the room and fast accommodating service from the staff. Loved that the restaurants and bar were right within the hotel and live singers to enjoy your meal with. Overall great hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights and we loved it! Excellent customer service from our arrival to the day of checkout. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast and drinks at the lounge at night. We were there for our anniversary and we were given a complimentary dessert, which was delicious. The rooms were clean, had a great view of Makati, and very comfortable. We also enjoyed using the fitness center. It is beautiful there and you can't beat the location. So convenient to many restaurants and shopping. Thank you, Shangri-La!

This Is far more than just a hotel. It has old-world style, with all the amenities, sure. It is surpassed however by the old world style service of a wonderful team, the likes of which I have never experienced elsewhere. Not only are they extremely efficient, but they seem to be your friends in no time at all. This is the finest example of how people can be an organisation's finest asset. Even if the hotel were half as nice but had this team, your occupancy rate would be very high. Thank you to every single member of staff out there caring for your guests the way you do.

I had a great experience and stay at the hotel. All the staff were very courteous, engaging and helpful. I spent many evenings in the lounge area enjoying the music and having dinner. My overall experience while in Makati will have me coming back.

The hotel catered beautifully to our family's needs. I can't say enough about the patience and kindness of your Club lounge staff in the mornings for breakfast with our demanding 2.5 year old daughter. The same is true for the wait staff in Sage Bespoke, for the same reasons. They were all so good!

The Makati Shangri-La, Manila is a 5-Star hotel. It is absolutely wonderful. I requested a wheelchair accessible room but the travel agency at my company did not pass that onto the hotel. Even though the bathroom did not have the normal accessibility items, I managed. My room was beautiful, the bathroom was all black marble and very beautiful. The restaurants were unbelievable. Dim sum for breakfast everyday with a choice of Thai, Chinese, and Italian for dinner every night.

Had a terrific experience overall. The room was massive, comfortable and immaculate. Pool is unencumbered and rejuvenating. Staff, particularly Roselle at the front desk during the evening/morning was extremely resourceful and respectful. Thanks again!

1. Fast and efficient check-in procedure. 2. Initial floor (5th floor) and room assigned to me smell with cigarette smoke. When I requested to be transferred, I was readily accommodated. 3. Room was very pleasant. Bed was very comfortable. 4. Staff at the spa and sauna area were very accommodating and helpful. 5. Dining experience at Circles is always great.

Never get too old. I always love this plce. And we got the suite… best ever. Keep it up. Thank u for giving your customers the best service ever. — and so were back. The horizon lounge is one of the great deal ever they have. Service is always amazing…

This hotel was fantastic… the buffet was the most impressive spread of food I’ve ever seen at a hotel restaurant, and the rooms were fantastic. The only thing I wish is that there was a jacuzzi that was outside or at least that both men and women could use so that we could have all been in the same spot for our jacuzzi time. But truly just a gorgeous hotel!

All I wanted was a quick glass of red before we went out to visit friends.
If I hadn’t stayed at the Peninsula previously it would’ve been a 5* review.
It just doesn’t compete with the awe inspiring lobby that greets you on the entrance to the Peninsula.
Copious amounts of lobby seating also available in the Peninsula.
Other than the lobby it matches my favourite Makati hotel in every respect.
Stay here… You won’t be disappointed.

The service of the front line staff was impeccable, and made up for the fact that the property is fairly dated. Food variety for the breakfast at the circles cafe is extremely wide, but quality can be improved. Horizon club access was the main draw for me — being able to host my clients at the highest level of service throughout the day, and the happy hour between 5-7pm every day. Will definitely return to stay under the horizon club.

What works: 1. Not having to stand at the desk for check in but having someone greet me and take me straight to my room. 2. Good transportation arrangement. 3. Breakfast arrangement. What does not work: 1. Perhaps to consider varying a bit of the breakfast buffet offering as people who stay there longer will typically get tired of seeing the same foods. 2. Room was not clean. I found hair particularly in the toilet area. Long hair and definitely not mine. 3. The bath towels smelled like they have not been dried properly and have a bot of an odour. 4. Check out could be more flexible especially late check outs.

I had the most delightful experience. The staff made my stay very comfortable and they all excelled well in providing top class service. The hotel probably needs to renovate as it is looking outdated. The elevators need to be upgraded. There was always a long wait for any of the 7 lifts to arrive. And when there is a function on in the lower floors, the hotel guests from the higher floors barely have room to get in.

First of all, I was surprised that it was still great to stay even though. Its been 25 years. Loved the rooms. Big beds. Cool room. Spacious and elegant bathrooms. We had a great view of glorietta and the pool, tennis court. Courteous staff. Free valet. My family loved it. The food was yummy. Lobby was always busy. Gym was clean and cool. With all life fitness. Machines. Overall loved my stay. Will definetly come back. A little suggestion: toilets would be better with bedets!

Overall a really good place to stay and relax with your loved ones, ideal for couples, family, leisure or business. Love the food! The buffet breakfast id outstanding! Staff are very accomodating. I really love how the receptionist greeted, interact and took care with us. Even the pool attendants are very polite and assisted us. Love the pool. Nice and clean. A dream place where you always want to go back. I wanna go back…

Beautiful Hotel and well located in a very commercial area.

I loved my stay! I work night shifts, and the hotel staff was very accommodating for this. I was able to set a Do Not Disturb for the daytime with the staff and they were very observant of this. I loved the small touches like the fresh fruit in the room and the coffee/tea and hot water. The only things I would change is the light switches in the room — I had to cross the room to turn on and off the "art" lighting. In addition, the electrical outlets were not close to the bed and some were very loose for plugging in. These were small matters though and overall, I had still had a great experience.

It has an elegant decor and esquisita food.

The stuff is very accommodating and friendly. My family and I had a wonderful stay. It was a Christmas to remember. The cake and wine for our anniversary is very much appreciated. The location is very nice. This hotel is highly recommended.

The overall experience was great. It was nice we were able to extend our stay a little bit. The location is perfect and we walked around for a bit. Only thing was that there was a drill scheduled at 2am, my husband ended up waiting for it but we didn’t know if it actually happened as no one called/knocked at our door. Also, help/assistance was kind of short when checking in after we had our car taken for valet. Would have been nicer if someone was there upfront to get our things and help us to the front desk. Will still come back.

A very good experience at the Makati Shangri La during my recent business trip. The only "constructive feedback" I could provide is that I had an extended wait time to check in … there was only two representatives at the desk, and one of them was involved in an animated conversation with a Japanese man who seemed to be getting directions/advice that would have been better directed to the Concierge, freeing up the front desk staff to check-in and out guests. After about a 10 minute wait, then 3-4 additional staff members burst out of the back to wait on myself and the extended line behind me. Curious process. Everything else was perfect, as expected, and as previously experienced.

Right from reception to Check-out was a top notch experience. Beautiful, well maintained common areas filled with wonderful sounds from various performers. Nice selection of restaurants with a grand selection breakfast buffet. The 4th floor gym, spa, tennis court, and pool offered a comfortable great selection to stay fit. We were working overnight hours so it was nice to have full service available all night in the lobby. Well done and thank you for making my time away from home so comfortable.

This hotel has always delivered on a guest experience. It's the small details, for example this afternoon I called for a 7:30pm wake-up call. The staff also asked if I'd like her to block all incoming calls until that time… Small details that make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. A+ every time for me.

I think it goes without saying that Shangri-la is still one of the best hoteliers in the PH. Despite the busyness that is Makati, it manages to envelop its guests with the right calm to take all the stress away. My last visit wasn't a stay in, but a full-day conference with the company. We stayed in Isabella Ballroom and the staff was extra nice; the in-house lighting and even the sounds were superb; the food was remarkable. Before we left, we even had a chance to do a photo op with the lobby's holiday decorations, which is, as all other things here, wonderful.

Hotel located in the centre of Makati, and well communicated. I stayed in a Superior room, perhaps it is a fair size for what I expected, but well distributed. Bathroom is medium size with shower and bath. Comfortable beds and spacious. Breakfast very good and varied, without doubt, one of the strong points of this hotel. The Wi-Fi is included in the price and it works perfectly.

5 star hotel in Makati City… wide and opulent lobby. Has variety of restaurants such as SAGE and the amazing LOBBY LOUNGE with gorgeous garden views. A bit dated, but still one of the best hotels since the early 1990s.

Beautiful place to stay. Facilities are first class including room, pool area and gym facilities. The breakfast buffet is a great way to start the day with a wide range of good quality food varieties and all the hotel staff are very friendly and attentive. The hotel is extremely well located as well, very central. Great place to stay.

Loving the room so much. But they dont have bidet on the toilet! Everything else is great. Plus the malls are just a walk away fr the hotel.

It was my first stay in a shangri-la and it was amazing! The staff is very kind and helpful! They even organized me a surprise for my birthday with a cake! It was a great surprise. Moreover the room is very nice, the bed and pillows very comfortable. The mini bar is great also, the bar, lounge, food, spa! I tried the rose journey massage and my friend the hillot massage from the spa, it was a wonderful experience and the massage staff is very thoughtful! We had drinks and fruits after the massage, such a great surprise! Anyway, it was a great experience, even when we had a small issue, the manager did everything to make better our stay. I recommend!

Stayed for 1 night, overall very nice and lively place. Everyone genuinely takes care of guests. Buffet spread has large variety and gr8 taste.

To be honest … Nice bar! The atmosphere is awesome! Jazz Band is a fire! I recommend the whiskey cocktails! A separate bow to the bartenders! Service on the height. Some of the brightest memories! I'll be in Manila, the first place to go.

Attended a UKEAS convention in one of Shangri-la's halls last year, and even just the lobby was amazing.

Security guards there are arrogant and rude. They will also take pictures of guests without their permission. Negative experience for us. Avoid checking in here at all costs.

I've stayed many times at the Shangri-La Makati over the past few years and it is definitely my hotel of choice for business travel. The location is convenient as it is easy to get taxis and other transportation and shopping (Gloriana and Greenbelt) and restaurants are within walking distance. The staff are excellent and are always helpful and friendly. Front desk staff are quick and efficient. Room attendants are always kind and friendly and willing to go that extra mile to make sure you are comfortable. The Circles buffet has a great selection of international fare and is a great way to get some fresh and cooked vegetables (something not easily found in Filipino cuisine}. The Sage Bar is a great way to wind down and often chat with other business travellers. The Lobby Lounge is actually my favourite place to relax, grab a snack or have a drink. The resident orchestra performs every afternoon and is a joy to listen to. Inagiku Japanese and Shang Palace Chinese restaurants are also very good. The hotel is a little older but it still feels luxurious. Seeing the grand staircase upon entering the hotel always impresses me. The rooms are nicely laid out and very comfortable. I usually stay 1-2 weeks and, beside the usual stir craziness I get from living in a hotel, find it very enjoyable. The newly renovated gym is excellent. It's quite big and has lots of equipment (both cardio and weights) for training when on the road. You can also hire trainers.

Circles cafe inside Makati Shangri-la hotel offers wide range of cuisine with discount if you have a membership card. The hotel is surrounded by malls which is the best location for a local like me. Staff is helpful if you need help going places.

Loved it on the 27th floor. Awesome room and buffet for dinner. Breakfast buffet was okay too =) Dinner buffet was fantastic staff is intelligent and valuable, Andrew helped with our plane tickets and that was a great help, dealing with PHIL airlines.
