Hotel is ok. Rooms can be quite small. No tea/coffee in rooms, no Kleenex, limited personal products etc.
I can NOT recommend the cafe in the foyer; service is immensely slow, food average (at best) but cold, the bill random etc…

Exceptional hotell. Old authentic wooden building with a lot of souls. Spectacular view and excellent staff. We arrange a 3 day symposium and the guests where very happy, helpful and professional staff that catered to all our needs. Highly recommended if you plan to eg host a meeting/symposium for foreign guests and want to make an impression. (Except the cafe/dining area in the first floor that was grumpy, borderline rude and not attentive. )

This is one of the best hotels in Oslo. Even though some parts of the hotel are "old fashioned" the entire hotel oozes with charm and history. There is no hiding, that the hotel is the place to stay if you are into skiing, and everywhere you find artifacts from the greatest stars in cross country skiing. Although high above the city, you can get to central Oslo within 30 minutes using public transportation. The view is nothing but spectacular. I find the staff and service to be absolutely high class, and I can only recommend the hotel.

Nice hotel, a little out of central Oslo, but providing superb views over inner Oslo and Oslo Fjord. Excellent location if you would like to combine a visit in Oslo with activities such as skiing, biking or running, as the hotel is in close proximity to miles after miles of tracks/paths in the Nordmarka forest. A little busy at the breakfast buffet around 7 o'clock due to bus-tourists in the summer period.

Lovely hotel. Only downside… no air conditioning. We visited during the hottest season Oslo has ever experienced. We did have a nice bid wind we could open which afforded some coolness. No bugs. We left it open day and night. Great staff. Needed to ask for additional towels eveyday. The do not use washcloths as they do in the states. All in all a wonderful experience!

It's a good place. It's a great view. The hotel is of course weak, it does not operate a swimming pool, a lot of people, so 4 stars.

It's a beautiful park. The arena is impressive even in the summer. The problem with closed toilets. Skiing trails can be skied. There is a track wanting mountain bikes.

Business Hotel, standard room overlooking a wall. Very nice lake view from the other rooms. Very appealing menus. Free parking is about 150 metres away. Hotel garage relatively expensive.

Super location overlooking the fjord. Very friendly staff at the front desk. Great breakfast. Unfortunately, a lady who apparently runs the bar has been very dismissive and unkind to us on 2 days in a row. That takes some of the joy of writing a better review. Apparently, she doesn't like German guests.

The junior suite was just superb. The bed was one of the comfiest I have experienced, the mattress was bouncy and it felt like I was cocooned in it. The pillows and duvet were also luxurious and supremely comfortable. The room was totally sound proof and I can honestly say that I had some of the best nights of sleep there. The bathroom was generously sized, containing a bath and a shower, the water pressure in both was fantastic. The interiors of the hotel are stunning and give the impression of a scandinavian wooden lodge. The breakfast buffet, despite being a bit busy, comprised of typically Norwegian and European fare of an extremely high quality. The salmon, cakes and buns caught my eye in particular, as did the omelette/egg poach and waffle making stations. Simply wow! The scenery from our balcony was just spectacular, like a wintry fairyland covered in thick blankets of snow. A fantastic hotel, would unequivocally recommend it to anyone staying in Oslo!

Scandic is always reliable, you get what you pay for. I like it. As with any hotel it's nice and tidy, the personnel is kind to you, just like you would expect. I like their broadloom, I'm always a sucker for broadlooms though so don't take my word for it. The pricing is pretty good, and the location is central as usual, you will not be dissapointed if you decide to spend the night here, but I can't say you will be mindblown either.

Very nice Hotel. Its architecture is a mixture of modernity and tradition. The room was clean and comfortable. Extraordinary views. The room was clean and the breakfast was good. Nice and quiet staff. We're still staying, I hope I don't change my mind, I'm sure not.

Hotel based at very attractive place with such a stunning view! I fell in love with Oslo from that point of view. Food went straight from my stomach to heart. So many different options like vegan, gluten-free and waffle iron maker which made my breakfasts in very sweet-French way, exactly what I like most. Hotel customer service brilliant and great SPA / gym section, thus… 5 star (:

Beautiful views over Oslo, with part of the hotel retaining it's historic original structure. Rooms themselves are modest, but totally adequate.

Our off-season room came at a fantastic price. The staff was always helpful and the breakfast service left little to be desired. An excellent experience all around. A word of warning: There is a train station close by but the climb can be challenging, especially when luggage is in play.

Really atmospheric building outside and inside, fabulous location. Bedroom were not particularly pleasant. Evening dinner was overambitious and quite frankly not something I would ever want to eat again. Breakfast was OK.

Very nice location with great views over Oslo and the valley. Hotel is quiet and beautiful. The rooms are stylishly decorated and the bed very comfortable. The Scandic — Burger and the pizza in the restaurant downstairs (the cheaper of the two) are very good and tasty. Also the elevator (stayed on the 4th floor) is unusually fast. Very pleasant. The breakfast was very good. Huge and noble selection of food. But there are also dark sides… Door to the bathroom squeaks. Separation of the bathtub is not fixed. I don't know why you made the fold-out, but I almost crashed when I wanted to support myself. The sauna was two days in a time "temporary out of order" and I was so looking forward to it. The whirlpool can be turned on — but not shut off. The water dispenser on the stick is out of order, the heating in the room does not seem to be controllable, the light switches in the room are arranged illogically… there are a lot of little things to note that the hotel has lost the attention to detail. Therefore a star deduction. And what really annoyed me personally is the arrogant appearance of the staff. Therefore another star deduction. What's the problem? I am a guest at the hotel and would not like to be treated by the staff snooty! Therefore, the overall impression of the hotel remains mixed.

Not far from Oslo, a 30-minute walk from the Metro, and close to the Holmenkollen, the winter sports temple, this hotel offers breathtaking views of the city and, at the same time, the tranquility of the mountain.
Notable is the main restaurant, mentioned on the Michelin guide 2017.
It also has a cheaper bar/restaurant.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. (also little service is offered, filling/clearing is rather sluggish) Swimming pool, sauna whirlpool dingy, especially the locker room! Not even towels are provided.
Room clean up pure luck and the waitresses in the lobby restaurant go to the alarm clock! Had expected more for my money.

Despite the gorgeous photo you see of the hotel we stayed in the new extension which is more budget friendly and obviously nothing like the beautiful old part, but is comfortable. The view is wonderful of Oslo and behind the hotel is the ski jump. The breakfast has a wide selection to suit all.

Lovely location with great views (if you are lucky enough to have a room with a view, from ours we could see other rooms and weeds)
Large room sploit by dirty windows, big scratch on the floor, non working hair dryer. Shower very nice. Our feeling was a nice Hotel let down by large Hotel chain management.
Very convenient for the sky jump, which is worth a trip to the top if you are okay with heights!
In short the rooms need some TLC
PS charged £25 to park the car! At £250 per night car park should be free.

The rooms on the hotel are clean and I give a big pluss for the bathroom including a bathtub. The rooms were a bit small and the location a bit out of town, but the prices we got were very good. Good service and overall nice and clean rooms! I would recomend the hotel to any of my friends without hesitating. A big pluss for the amazingly delicious included breakfast!

The first room we got was dirty. We claimed and got a new one. Also this room had hair on the floor and in the evening a silver fish greeted us in the bathroom. This place is not worthy of a 4 star hotel. After our round trip I was looking forward to a great last night, but the outer sight is cloudy. The rooms were run down, the parquet was scratched, the mini bar was so frozen that the door was pressed. I have already lost words about the lack of cleanliness. The whole hotel is designed for mass tourism, where cleanliness loses value, although you pay a lot of money for the night. On our tour even hotels without stars were much cleaner than this. That should give thought to those responsible.

We are staying there for 3 nights and the storage place for clothing is limited, with a small refrigerator sits in the closet space, which is not nice.
On the positive side, the breakfast has a wide variety of options and is delicious. The view is amazing and fantastic. The reception desk very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The room was small but clean. Size did not bother me, since we needed the room only for sleeping. I would definitely return here on my next visit.

Not all that classy of a place, this seems to be the preferred hotel for average budget European tourists. The lobby, breakfast room are always full and loud. They sometimes even get unloaded by the busload here, that's the sort of place this is… Buffet dinner is a bit meagre, not many vegetarian options save for some salads. Staff is OK but not all are that friendly. The quirky design and the amazing view are what this hotel has going for it, but for nearly the same money you can stay in nearby Soria Moria Conference Hotel, which is a MUCH nicer, quieter, classier and friendlier affair than this place.

Amazing view over the Oslo bay. Friendly staff and nice rooms. The breakfast buffet is very extensive, but dinner options in the area are limited. Easily accessible from the metro station.

Modern and very convenient.

Travelling from USA. First time in Norway. Staff was OK. No one explained how to operate anything in the room. Which is very different from USA. No one informed us that breakfast was included with our room stay. Phone in the room didn't work. Door between adjoining room was NOT locked. Only friendly staff member was woman bartender during the day. I wish I could remember her name. She was very helpful. If you are just looking for a place to crash, perfect place. If you are travelling and looking for any assistance to enhance your travels/vacation stay someplace else.

A true 4-star hotel. Rooms and breakfast impeccable. I recommend that you do the Scandic Friends card for a free 20% discount on catering. Superlative view.

Excellent location and nice rooms!

We met unfriendly staff at the front desk, got two rooms with double beds (ordered single), rooms were FAR from clean (a lot of dust and hair in the bathroom) and waited more than an hour for our food at the restaurant. No compensation was given what so ever. I would not recommend this hotel. At this price, I expect to get way better service.

Stayed in the superior double room (nice view) and really enjoyed for the 1100 nok per night. The room is nice andthe bed perfect.
