Great spot next to the harbor where there are plenty of shops for fresh seafood. The hotel itself is beautiful and the room we stayed in was very spacious. It had great curtains to keep out the sun since sunset was at 11pm!

Comfortable and more spacious than expected. Within walking distance of most places you want to see.

Great location, close to the starting points of all the Fjords tours. Many delicious choices for breakfast. Helpful staff. Two thumbs up!

It's an old hotel but very well maintained and clean. The breakfast was amazing. No complaints. Giving a 4 star rating only because the hotel is 12 minutes suitcase dragging distance from the station. It's very very close to bryggen however.

Cute and cozy. I've been a a single room (305) and the bed was single. However, everything was clean, breakfast good, staff b easy going and full of common sense. They are doing work on the street and in the morning you can hear some noise.

Conveniently located a few blocks from the Fish Market, it's easy to explore the Bergen from here. The room is spacious, with all the traditional furnishings. Friendly and informative staffs. Great value.

Good price/quality ratio. Simple rooms, but all are including "tea" set.
A little unlucky us with heating. When a cold snap didn't have time to include central heating, said, saying that trying to run. Passed 24 hours, but heating not started. However, even before the check in it put the electric heater. It's a pripodnâlo temperature.
Hotel is situated in a convenient location for walking.
Breakfast is quite normal. Was submitted to the salted salmon.

It's quite nice I suppose, tiny room strange shower, don't crack the glass doors on the toilet bowl or the sink! Bring your own sink plug.

Great hotel. Clean, service was good. Only complaint would be a hot room (25 degrees) without a possibility to change. Breakfast was a feast too. Will book best Western again.

A lot of hotels in Norway can be very similar. If you travel for work, then usually all you want is a decent meal, somewhere comfortable to sleep and a good breakfast. This hotel doesn't really provide that. Although there's nothing to bad with the hotel as such, there's nothing to recommend it either. I stayed for several nights on different occasions in September 2013. The rooms were all tiny, almost always with a single or double bed pushed against the wall so as to just about have enough room for a desk and a cupboard on the other side. Although I didn't have the temperature problems that the reviewer Pat Hansen did, I concur that you'll be banging your knees on the bathroom door a bit. At least the bed was comfy and everything was clean. The food wasn't anything to write home about. Although there's a restaurant that does evening food, it feels like a cheap Spanish hotel and the food is about as good… At triple the price. Go and find somewhere else for dinner. Breakfast was fine, but there selection of cereals and hot & cold foods was very limited. Not terrible, but not great either. I won't be staying here again if I have the choice, but if everywhere else is booked up, I've stayed in worse.

I was first given room 502 — worst hotel stay of my life. The temp was 29.7 degrees C (85.5 F) all night long — the outside daytime max was maybe 24 C. The window only opened 2 inches. The room was soooo small and the bathroom was so tiny your knees banged the wall when using the toilet — horrible! I complained about the heat and they moved me to another room which was slightly larger but the windows opened. I know they put some other poor people in the dreaded room 502. It was clean and the staff was pleasant but still a total rip off!

We have been entered by the travel agent in the hotel for the night before our trip to Hurtigruten. And I must say it was hardly something to be desired. Central location (so that was still enough time to explore the really lovely town), quiet room (although "out front"), if not also sumptuous breakfast, helpful and friendly (fluent food staff) … better our holiday could have not started actually.
Only downside: very turbulent and checkout, especially when several people at once. But it fail so often even the hochpreisigsten 5-star hotels.
