We went to Otahuna Lodge for my dad’s surprise 74th birthday and had never been before. The house itself was absolutely stunning (and huge) and the food was delicious and amazingly well presented. We were greeted at the door on arrival and were ushered to our own private dining room, complete with open fire. We received very good service from our waitress and the chefs explained every meal to us. Would highly recommend.
This place is so good I’ve worked there for 16 years!

We recently had an overnight stay in the Loft Suite. This is a gorgeous suite tucked up in the former servants quarters of this magnificent historical homestead. This Suite is a very sharp, modern on trend style, completely different from the historical atmosphere of the homestead. We thoroughly enjoyed the Loft experience and would certainly return for another stay here.
The grounds here are wonderful, with sweeping lawns mowed to perfection, majestic ancient trees, lovely forest rambles and many areas to enjoy, including the walled vegetable garden and the orchard.
The homestead is beautifully crafted with kauri and rimu used throughout the building, and the interior decorated and furnished in the style of the times.
Our evening meal was faultless, thankyou to Chef Jimmy, and breakfast also perfect.
All members of the Otahuna Lodge team were welcoming, helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
We were travelling with a small pooch, who was also able to walk the grounds with us,
