Good cheap motel right in Riccarton and Christchurch city. This motel would've been perfect if for some very minor flaws. 1 — no bath mat, shower is amazing but no shower mats means floor is wet after a shower, their suggestion is to use a used towel as floor mat but that limits how much towels you have. 2 — Wi-Fi, the free Wi-Fi they give you is very slow but nonetheless it's free so can't complain I guess. Overall good Christchurch motel right in chch city. Will visit again surely.

Dreadful place dirty beds uncomfortable the pepper was 2014 and rusted underneath took it to reception never replaced it the cutlery draw dirt had to be a midget to get under the shower front office no manners at all only there to pick up the money room cold no sun just dreadful 4 days.

Thank you for a great room. Although our room faced the street it was very quiet and also warm. Handy to chch square and hagley park and a lot of food restaurants. Good room service.

Went to book a room yesterday evening The Asian Guy at the reception was very rude and full of attitude. I Am not trying be racist, Very poor customer services. Staff should know how to treat their customers.

Shocking, shocking bed. Two singles joined together to make a king bed. They were buggered the both of them. Terrible shower, one three little pottles of milk, weird dangly things on the window that dragged along the floor. No sleep, shocking night. We will never go back.

I have been using the Cherrytree Since 2010. Very clean cozy rooms. Beautiful Decor, Lovely Staff. Im a High Stardand woman. This is Truly a Excellent Motel. I only stay at The Cherrytree always will. By Olly.

Absolutely nothing positive can be said about this hell hole. Rude staff, dirty, smelly, cold, and out dated. Wouldn't stay here again or recommend to anyone else. Was refused a refund as very stupidly paid in advance by cash. He knew we were arriving very late after a full days travel with temperature due to drop to minus 7 no heater was put on for us so room sitting at 5 degrees and had only reached 10 degrees by the morning. Dirty towels old bedding. We would have been better off sleeping in the car. Reception smelled like a chinese takeaway. All in all rough as guts.

Not a good place to stay. Had a leaking ceiling caused from bad drainage of room upstairs, and they nickle and dime you for every service. Very noisy due to thin walls facing Riccarton Rd. Bed was not comfortable. Complained to management, so they showed me another room, for more money, and the smell was so bad, I declined. I ended up finding another hotel just down the street that was excellent.

To be avoided at all costs, I wouldnt stay there again for free. Dated, Dirty, run down, uncared for, worn out, rude people running it, and once again, dirty, smelly and gross. To say its a dump would be unfair to dumps. See the trip adviser reviews as well, a lot of people are saying the same things.
