We spent a lovely time here for our friends wedding.
Karen was amazing and super friendly. The rooms were soooo clean and comfortable.
Can’t wait to stay there again.

Nice clean quiet rooms close to the Hobbit film set.

We have stayed a few times… suits us… we will be there 1st week of January … looking forward.

Loved staying here, owners are lovely nice clean tidy room, shuttle service into town. We are definately coming back one day…

Good quiet location and clean rooms with comfortable beds and pratical kitchen. Great thermal insulation and heating as well. Great option in Matamata.

Fantastic owners who gave great advice and organised to drop us into town twice. Lovely little apartment in a beautiful part of New Zealand. Definitely get a 1 bedroom and we will be back!

Simple motel with an excellent location. Easy to find off a main road in Matamata. About 20 min drive to Hobbiton. 5 min drive to city center. Staff is very nice. Beds are OK. Excellent value.

We loved our little escape to Matamata. Definitely a beautiful motel with great hosts. One of the best this traveller has stayed in.

What a local gem. The owner was so lovely, and upon realizing we were in town to visit Hobbiton she personally drove us into Matamata and arranged for the bus to take us to the tour. Clean rooms and very large! We could hear the birds chirping as we got ready for the evening. Would definitely stay here again!

A right motel. Good price, clean and with what it takes to make night before visiting Hobbiton. The owners can lend a hand to locate stores in the village.

The room and service absolutely can't be beat. Very quiet, clean, modern and comfortable. The owner is amazing. She took my sister and I all over, even out of her way. She also helped us with our Hobbiton reservations. Plus she helped us try to find a precious pair of earrings my sister lost. Such a caring and fun lady. I HIGHLY recommend the Tower Motel.

Me and my friend stayed here for three nights and we where surprised by the really good service of tower road motel. If you are going to hobbiton and want to drink a beer or two this is the place to stay. Free transport to the I-site and the hobbiton staff will take you back to the motel. The staff was so nice to us!

Was only here for one night, however the room was great. Has great free Wi-Fi too. Simple but comfortable.

Fantastic! Lovely little house, covered carport made parking a breeze, super warm and cosy even without the heat pump on. Great value for money. Lovely hosts. Would visit again!

We loved our 3 day stay so so much! The houses are lovely and we were given our very own parking spot. The owners, specifically Karen were so sweet and hospitable, she went out of her way to help us. Highly recommended.

Really large rooms and super helpful staff with Wi-Fi on offer. Only regret is not staying here for longer and spending a bit more time in matamata. They have laundry services you can use, very well suited for families looking for long stays as the units are spacious with TV and board games. Would recommend to friends staying in the area, reception told us about going to hobbiton later in the day, definitely a pro tip if you want a smaller tour group. Very thankful!

Although we were only here one night, this motel left us with happy memories of a pleasant stay. Our family of four were in a separate cottage with its own garage. Beds were comfy and the bathroom roomy. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable, happy to stop for a few minutes and chat. The grounds include a huge back garden which is a tranquil place. The motel is only a matter of minutes away from the town centre, but is distinctly rural in character. Highly recommended!

Absolutely the best place you could stay so cozy and clean the beds are comfy and it just has a homely feel! The garden is beautiful and Karen is a fabulous host :) would recommend 1000 times over stayed here twice this year and just loved it! Well priced and good family environment plus very welcoming and relaxed.
