Nice and tidy place. We stayed one week in Apex on Fenton Motel, the room was clean and got all the kitchen facilities for us to cooking in the room. The staff was friendly, we were very happy with our room. Highly recommend it.

Quiet, comfortable and nice and clean. Hosts nice and very helpful. Would stay here again.

The layout of the 2 bedroom spa Apartment was really good. The room was clean and well organised. Bed were OK, extra blankets were great. Spa was lovely and hot. The room was cold when we arrived, the windows had been left open. Some of the kitchen utensils need replacement along with the towels. Hosts were very helpful and lovely to deal with.

Tidy house but not worth the price I paid. $300 I m expecting a private spa.

As a mid range motel we were very happy. Good service, quiet room, handy to town. Happily return.

I stayed in the Studio unit and would not recommend it. Absolutely brutal, zero privacy. The manager and extended family (I think live on site) and are always around this unit. Walking around directly behind (tending to garden or their drying line) my room. Never felt at ease. Other rooms (1, 2 bd room) might be okay.

We were down for 3 nights for the IPS touch tournament. Our room was big and the hot tub was great after a long day. We chose this place because it was close to our venue. Just a few improvements would be the towels, they were ruff not soft, the pressure of shower was low and the shower door didnt close the full way. Also the floor was so slippery and u couldnt see water on the ground. Otherwise was a good stay.

Apex where fantastic they really helped us out when we arrived with no place to stay. They were helpful and provided us with info on activites and recomendations on resturants. 10/10 would stay again.

Spent 4 nights at the Apex, great room with spa bath, close to the centre of town, great friendly staff wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone travelling to Rotorua.

Well laid out two bedroom family unit, located within walking distance of the downtown. We ran into problems with cooking facilities and air flow. Cook top had only one setting — burning hot as it appeared the thermostat was not regulating temperature, and the oven was not functioning at all. Toaster burnt toast on 1. Large fry pan handle was close to falling off. On duty manager gave us an electric frying pan and replaced the toaster as a workaround. I would expect regular inspections to catch these issues. The main floor and bedrooms could have also used better ventilation as it gets quite warm. The single budget grade oscillating fan didn't move enough air for the size of room.

Average. The pictures are very flattering and maybe slightly too expensive for a room without air-conditioning and limited air circulation. However the owners welcomed us warmly and with the fan we had a comfortable night. The place is a bit old but clean.

We really enjoyed our stay at Apex thanks to the owners who are very welcoming and awesome they made sure we had everything we needed. Great family room, including a spa and complete facilities. I highly recommend this place.

Great family unit with heaps of beds. Seems to have been recently decorated and taken care of except the shower in the bathroom which needs replacing. Fantastic price for a good family room.

Absolutely loved our stay at Apex on Fenton. Greeted us with nice fresh flowers and fresh coffee with Mr &Mrs sign as we were on our honeymoon. Got us a discount to go have dinner on the mountain. And was soo soo helpful with telling us about all the interesting things to do and see around beautiful Rotorua. Really lovely host. So friendly. All the little touches. Nice fresh milk in a glass bottle with a cute little tag. Nice artwork. Comfortable bed. Spacioous. Feels warming and inviting. Wish we stayed our last night there instead of leaving! Will definitely be back and recommend to all :) Thanks so much. ❤

Nice place, complete facilities, including a warm private spa! Problem was, we did not know how to operate it, the knobs did not have labels and we did not know how to turn on the jacuzzi. We just soaked in the very warm water and did not know how to turn if off, the owners did not explain it to us and the office was already closed when we used the private spa. There were 6 of us and we had enough beds: two bedrooms upstairs for five people and there was another bed in the living room downstairs.

I loved the environment! It gave a homely feeling :). The service was so friendly and bubbly. I would highly consider this place to stay in! Loved loved loved it!

Nice friendly staff will go out of there way to help, just a few hiccups oven top was not working properly and spa was warmish we had not enough flannel or soaps shampoos etc had to keep asking for more. But still loving our stay.

Great stay! The new owners have turned this once run down motel into a wonderful asset. Clean rooms, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere 10/10.

Awful. The studio room I had was an absolute cess-pit. Mould all over the walls; no ventilation in the bathroom unless you count the window which opened out onto the car parking area; mould all over the electric socket for shavers; warped and severely water damaged vanity unit with veneer lifting away and doors so warped they would not shut; filthy handbasin; water on the floor in the bathroom when I first entered it; no room guide; curtain track damaged and curtain on front window hanging off at one end. It deserves no stars at all but I had to put one to enable publication of this review. I ought to get my money back and I am so embarrassed at the prospect of overseas visitors coming to Rotorua and unknowingly booking into this tip.
