I've just raised this review from one star to three. I've taken a week to calm down before I wrote this review. An 'event' that I won't elaborate on happened while I stayed here. Now this isn't the first time I've stayed, but it will be the last. Having said that, I won't go into detail as it's literally one employee (I assume) that has ruined it for me. At the end of the day though, the front desk staff and one of the managers (Tim) went out of their way to resolve the issue for me and for that I am far more appreciative than they would have seen at the time. Back to the review, the room was very nice and comfortable, and as I said, the majority of the staff are lovely and at tentative. The dining, unfortunately, leaves a little to be desired. The dining room seems like it's a side room or ex boardroom they've pushed you into and the food was adequate to yikes (how do you ruin bacon? ). Then, they go and serve me one of the nicest steaks I've had in a long time. Lol At the end of the day I won't promote them, but I will say I've stayed there more than once, as I said earlier. I'd peruse more reviews to make your decision, but once again, thank you Tim and the front desk staff for your assistance to try and resolve an untenable situation.

A bit pricey but very well located for the airport, that could be just because we had to checkout very early to catch our flight. Room was quite large, I think we may have been upgraded from what we booked but nothing was said at check-in. Popular place, we arrived just before a large group so everything went smoothly and quickly for us, the large group was around for a while. Bathroom was large, products nice, the shower head was very high and not adjustable, but it was a comfortable pressure. I'd stay again, for an early flight.

Great facilities, spacious rooms! All at the convenience of the airport! And not to mention the level of quality of the food! ’The runaway Restaurant’ delivered great food that didn't disappoint!

Air Parking Services is the best place for leaving your car at the airport. Have used a dozen times now and a seamlessly easy booking process online, pay, park, drop off leave. The shuttle service is very quick, reliable and efficient. Highly recommend to those flying out for a few days to a few weeks.

Handy to airport. Friendly staff. Good sized room. Situated in an industrial area. Not a holiday destination hotel. Best suited for travellers passing through Auckland. Proximity to airport is main attraction.

The room was alright. The guy at the front desk should not have made us carry our own bags into a gross little cupboard for leaving them during the day before we were checking in. The floor had not been vacuumed very well, there was a bobby pin left in full view. The soap was nice though. The coasters had all been stained by other people and left there after they were dirty, and when I went to use one of them, there was a huge coffee stain underneath. We will not be returning.

On a positive note the Ham and Cheese sandwich exceeded my expectations and earned this hotel 2 stars! Unfortunately it ended there. Rooms are fine, nothing special, dated, but what always leads my reviews is customer service. For our experience we unfortunately ended up standing around waiting at the wrong side of the airport (as we found out later, after 3 shuttle routes) for over an hour. Neither of my first two calls did the staff mention standing outside Door 8 which was key to being picked up. What really drove me to this negative review was the simple fact that I had to call 3 times to even get the information I needed. No one called me back when I wasn't at the pickup point to see where I was, no one walked the 50 yards to see if anyone was still waiting at the other doors, and when the issue was brought to the staff's attention the simple response was: *chuckle* As you can see we are really busy! Sorry no one told you to wait at door 8… In a situation like this, someone please train your staff to make (even a small) gesture to make up for the inconvenience. A free drink at the bar, hell even a free latte in the morning would have created some sense of good will. Anyone who want's to stay here, it will serve all your basic needs, but don't expect much in the way of customer service.

Fantastic staff great rooms very clean. But it is the staff. They are wonderful. I work in tourism and spend a lot of time at Hotels. Other hotels could learn a lot from Heartland Auckland Airport hotel.

Clean, friendly, quiet, good amenities nice restaurant and nice bar. For example, I needed an American outlet for the cell phone and they provided instantly, also we needed tooth brushes which they immediately delivered. The restaurant was excellent and they even had 9:30 PM to 1:00 AM late owl menu.

First time parking my car there for 3 days. Very efficient drop off and pick up service in a clean van with friendly drivers. Will definitely use them again. Only $4 more than my last experience which was no comparison. Thumbs up!

Staff friendly and helpful. Dining abismal. Quiet and convenient.

Excellent long term parking arrangements for airport travellers. Will deliver and pick you up at airport in van. Good daily parking rates even if not staying at hotel. Even have backup jump starter if you get a flat battery!

We were impressed with the location and how quiet the room was, since the proximity is VERY close to the airport and freeway. The Runway in house restaurant was much better than we had anticipated. The service was very good and the food, well, compliments to the kitchen, delicious. The front desk was quick and efficient and asked all the right questions. Do you need a wake up call and do you need a shuttle in the morning. I highly recommend staying here, for an Airport Hotel, it was very good.

They are a great place to leave your car it is so affordable and they will drop you off and pick you up from the airport no matter the time of day or night.

I stayed at the Heartland Hotel for 4 nights while on business in Auckland. The room was a good size and unusually it had a separate bedroom. I found this to be a positive as I could work in the lounge/Kitchen area and have a separate sleeping area. The downside of this was that as it was humid I needed the air con on all the time and the airflow didn't quite reach the bedroom which made for a restless sleep. The staff were accomodating and friendly. The room was straihtened and stock (towels, tea & coffee) replenished daily. I have no complaints over all.

They have very exceptional service and look after there guests with 5 star qualities I would recommend the heartland hotel full stop to anyone without question they looked after when I fell sick without question I thank all the staff of the heartland hotel Auckland airport with such gratitude and will miss there friendly staff.

Our stay was just for one night in order to get to the airport very early the next morning. The hotel had parking which was great. I booked the room online, king bed with a spa tub. Booking process online was easy. Check-in staff were friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean when we arrived. The spa tub was regular bathtub size, I wish I would have known that in advance. I would not have chosen the spa room. The restaurant menu was a bit limited, but the food was good.

If you like being woken up early by reception to ask if you are staying another night or having room sevice wake you up then book in here.

Great option for a long flight layover. Rooms are studio style with kitchenette, TV sofa and separate bedroom. Reasonable rates, switched on staff and timely airport shuttle. Free Wi-Fi.

Solid place to stay near the airport if you have an early flight. The rates are good, the rooms and clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but reliable with an excellent shuttle service.

Clean rooms with all the bases covered plus free parking. Well appointed, nice clean staff, super convenient. The beds were a little lumpy and the lights were super harsh, other than that, it's great for a close hotel stay overnight.

Clean, tidy. Good beds. Excellent food! A bit stark and lacking in character, but overall an excellent airport hotel. Free shuttle and 24 hours of internet for up to 4 devices. Very pleased with our stay.

Stayed 24 May and found room and restaurant good value. Unfortunately I left behind an item of clothing and despite contact via the website and email, had no response.

Needs a proper shower, only has a bath with a shower head in it was hard for my nana to get in and out.

Well located. You hv to turn the TV on to get Wi-Fi in room which is a pain.

One of the very best hotels close to the airport, Since the scenic hotel group have taken over it really has improved in all aspects, well done to them. Staff were very friendly, rooms were comfortable and restaurant was nice and quiet. Great for a stop over.

I found it brilliant, Getting of a Plane after 30 hours travelling, walking to the information centre at Aukland Airport, dialling 30 on the free phone and picked up by the Mcdonalds sign outside in 15 mins. Two adults and three children perfect.

This was very convenient as we needed accommodation near the airport. It is a large establishment and also had a dining room serving dinner and breakfast which when arriving late in afternoon and nor wishing to chase about for meals is an advantage. The room was comfortable although only one room plus a bathroom. Wi-Fi was provided free although at lowish speed. Dinner prices were very reasonable and the food good and the continental breakfast we chose had plenty to select from although in case the price was a bit high.
