Good location, small but comfortable.

Great price and great location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Certain areas in our room could do with a little TLC, but this did not hinder our experience. Would happily stay here again.

Nice, clean and quiet hotel in central location. Friendly staff. Rooms with modern interior at a reasonable price. Avoid rooms on ground level. I stayed in room 3 and could hear every single word when the receptionist talked with guests.

Unfortunately I can only rate this hotel as a 1 star venue due to the unhygienic, heavily stained mattress that happened to be particularly bad underneath the pillow. I can only guess that this was caused by a previous guest having a severe nosebleed and the hotel was too cheap to replace the mattresses topper (5-7cm of foam). Instead they failed to hide it under two thick hotel quality cotton sheets. I informed the reception after a terrible night sleep (felt sick at the thought of what lay a few cm away from me) ; however they were full and unable to relocate us or replace the mattresses. I would have loved to rate this hotel higher as the staff were polite (but unable to rectify the above problem), the rest of the bedroom was clean (peeling wallpaper and lino flooring did cheapen the feel). The staircase inside the hotel is very steep, they do however have a slow moving disability lift you can use instead. Edit: I should also mention that the hotel has thin walls and you are unlikely to get peace and quiet until after 1 am, adjoining shower rooms and the disability elevator can be clearly heard from within the bedroom. This hotel is most suitable for night owls and heavy sleepers. On a final note, the hotel is in the process of being sold. Perhaps the new owner will operate it differently…

Very friendly and very good deal. They helped us with the suitcases and the room was nice and clean.

The staff were lovely, the bed was comfy, it was a lovely room and the bathroom was luxurious. The only thing is the finish isn't quite there to make it to 4 stars. For the price, it was a good deal.

Perfect for a short trip to Amsterdam. Very central location, everything was within walking distance.

No correct man to the non-understanding resection we had room 1 the one next to the entrance noise all night no chain in French no bedside lamp bathroom not practical and degraded I strongly advise against!

Friendly place and super helpful staff; The location is great. A little uncomfortable for those staying on the other floor, very steep stairs and very slow lift.

We landed in Amsterdam at 8am, the room couldnt be ready until 3pm, there was no eraly check ins at all. Hotel room is literally the size of a closet, and you are not allowed to bring Guest in after 12am.

The location is good and staff are friendly. Only a short walk into the centre. The bed is very comfy and the bathroom is also good. The thing bringing down the rating is the strange room shape which means the bed blocks off half the room and there's no space. Also there no carpet anywhere you have to walk on the hard floor and everything is very loud in the evening. Almost very good.

Enough for a trip to Amsterdam!

Simple and clean room. Bathroom is very modern but not overly functional. Good service and great central location.

Although my single room is small but with updated clean bathroom, very pleasant surprise. Super quite. I was awake by beautiful songbirds every day.

My room was tiny, but clean. It was next to a very noisy elevator, in fact my room shared a wall with this elevator and the bad is located next to that wall. When I asked to change my room, I was told that all single rooms are next to the elevator. If you are a deep sleeper, this should not be a problem for you.

Decent experience. 15 Min walk to the Dam Square which was nice. Avoid the first floor at all cost! We were fist placed at Room 2 and we can hear everything from the first floor. After complaining, we were transferred to the second floor and made the experience pleasant.

Quaint room, walking distance to many places. I tried calling the hotel to let them know I would arrive late, but got no answer. Luckily this was no issue as the reception was stuffed.

Modern Hotel and located in a good area.

Very nice and well-maintained, clean and well heated. The staff were excellent. However, the room number 1 is next to reception on the ground floor, then each trolley step is the same as if it were in the room. The bathroom is very modern and newly renovated, has a design error, the water in the shower was completely the bathroom.

The place is cute. The fourth comfortable. Good customer service. The bathroom could be more comfortable but it does. Clean.

Beautiful newly renovated rooms, decorated in a modern style. Unfortunately, there is no Breakfast.

Neutral: No Breakfast offer, the offer in the environment is sufficient. Negative: Very noisy (you can every door to hear the to and to),
The bathroom is very stylish but very small and when taking a shower everything is flooded, there is no separation,
no night table lamps,
the advertised bike hire, fell into the water, because the locks were rusted,
Rooms 1, 2 and 3 are located directly next to the reception, where I stay, fortunately, had it to me in the clairaudience of the hotel, but unreasonable to introduce.

Basic Hotel, traveling with 3 friends years ago, they screwed up the resevation for the first night, the 4 of us had to share a room. The front desk worker when we were checking out demanded we pay in cash, even tho we were told we could use credit cards at booking. He insulted me inferring I was lazy and stupid. We told them to go screw themselves, why should we pay atm fees from both the atm and the bank. The Hotel was so cheap they didn't want to pay the credit card surcharge all business pay when dealing with credit transactions. They finally took the credit card payment, I wasn't going to let them push me around.

Cheap hotel. Good location with large room. Extensive mould on shower ceiling and dirty room with leaking toilet. Building site noise from downstairs at 7.40am. Loud music till gone 11pm from the hotel reception radio.

Its a amazing location nearby famous leidsplein and vondelpark, museamplein, hotel was clean rooms was clean bed are comfortable nice shower nice staff helping you with al the information that you need. I recommend it for every one.

Hi the only good thing:the Hotel was quite inexpensive. Problem number 1: no lift the stairs are very very steep for older people or knee problems impossible for the stairs to come. Very dirty, I have never seen such a dirty Hotel ever seen before. The Breakfast no thank you so I can never return, unfortunately there is nothing positive to write love greetings Petra.

Reception is staffed 24 hours, single room was good size. Shower and toilet were shared, but the toilet is extremely small and difficult to cram oneself into, not to mention get out of, and I am actually average height and below average weight male. They need to figure out how to get smaller (or higher? ) toilet in there or expand into the next room just a few inches; it's completely ridiculous, and barely useable. Free Wi-Fi internet (bring your own hardware or use theirs for a fee) was a bit unstable and sometimes turned off at night or early morning. The breakfast is pretty good: toast with lunch meat/cheese, coffee, juice, hard boiled eggs and cold cereal.

Stayed at the Crystal for a few days recently and found it to be a pleasant surprise. Generally supportive staff (though perhaps a bit aloof), comfortable room, adequate breakfast and the shared toilet and bathroom facilities were clean. The biggest plus was the proximity of the Hotel to the vibrant Leidseplein area while still providing a very quiet environment in a lovely street. Only slight negatives were the slow, unreliable internet facility and the steep stairs. I would recommend this hotel to travellers who are on a budget but still need a few creature comforts.
