Stevens Guesthouse

The rooms are clean, and there’s a swimming pool outside.
Peaceful, quiet area — but located slightly far from town if that’s what you’re looking for, there is a mall in the area though.
There are no shower curtains in the bathroom so that leaves a bit of a mess when you take a shower which is a bit frustrating.
Would be more reassuring to know the gate guests make use of is also lockable. (The area is safe — atleast that’s what we were told)
The staff is selectively helpful, I had to communicate with the owners to push them to be more helpful as they weren’t very accommodating when I had just arrived and was trying to check in. Once I spoke to the owner about the issue she sorted it out though.

My experience with Steven’s guesthouse was better until my colleague phone and mine got stolen from the room we were sleeping.
The guesthouse has zero security in place to insure that their customers are protected. The person that stole our phones entered our room via the bathroom window. The windows don’t have burglars hence it was easy for whoever took the phones to access the room. My roommate and I (unfortunately) did not close the toilet window that night as that is the only window the room have (apart from the aluminum main door). The closing of the window to us was not really a big issue because we were not warn about any safety measures upon arrival. We just got to hear the day our phones got stolen that, next to the guesthouse is an abandoned house which is a hotspot for thieves. When we asked what will happen now that we lost our phones while we were being accommodated by them? The only thing they told us is that the insurance will not be able to pay us because it was not force entry and nothing was broken. Insurance will only pay if the window was broken and that’s when it will be considered force entry. They told us that, us sleeping with the bathroom window open was negligence from us hence both the insurance and guesthouse cannot do anything about it. In my opinion I will only accept that I was negligent if I was warned about the safety measures we have to put in place.

The pictures of this place is very deceiving. I give 2 stars because despite it all, I slept well. In my opinion the place needs quite a bit of attention to detail.
We booked a family room for my family and I, and a single for my dad, for one night on 27/08/23.
The TV’s in both rooms had problems with channels and we couldn’t get them to work despite owners coming in the room and try fixing it. The sliding door between room and bathroom in the family room is in a debilitating state, not closing properly and out dated. The towels are old, off-white (rather than white) and very small for bath towels. The showers are beautiful, but the water pressure is very low.
The door to my dad’s room was literally smashed (you could see inside the room from outside if you press on the crack). The swimming pool is empty and dirty. There’s no warning when you book about the condition of the pool and surroundings.
Breakfast was terrible. Fried eggs looked like it was cooked hours before or even previous evening and only warmed in a oven or microwave when we sat down. My dad could hardly chew his toast that’s how hard it was. It was rather rusks, than toast. We had to ask for bread that was not toasted, but worst they ran out of bread by the time my daughter and wife came out for breakfast. Kitchen staff have no clue what “sunny side up” means, in terms of egg preparation.
On a positive note, the beds were comfortable.

Jade and her daughter, Kayla were extremely helpful and hospitable. Jade even drove to town to show us where the SPUR was before we had even decided to stay with them, with no guarantee that we would be back.
Kayla, their teenage daughter went out of her way to lay a beautiful table for us outside even though it was self catering, and kept me company while I was cooking.
The family room was very spacious, clean and had everything necessary for a comfortable and relaxing stay, at a very affordable price.
I highly recommend Stevens Guesthouse and will be back if I visit Swakopmund again.

The service here impeccable. It's so tranquility. The rooms are so neat and they have a great pool too. Perfect for solo, couples or the whole. They accommodate everyone.

I miss Rejoice and Sonia's breakfast at this place. Their service is soo amazing. You girls keep your service. I like it. Your boss made a very good choice to have employees like you.

Customer service is out of this world. We stayed two nights and we where treated more like family then clients. The owners offered to take us everywhere since we were new in the area. Everything was so clean and neat not forgetting the spacious rooms. Will surely recommend this to anyone.

Enjoyed the hospitality, the breakfast was great. It's home away from home.
Location of the guesthouse is most convenient, With its quiet, spacious and private rooms. Loved it, keep up the great work. You definitely have referrals from me.

I would recommend Steven’s Guest house to anyone looking for a quiet, clean place, friendly staff and a well prepared breakfast because that’s the service I got in my stay. I didn’t have transport with me, but they offered to take me to town and back at no cost. I had an Excellent stay with them. Accommodation is very much affordable.
