Jackalberry Chobe

Staying at Jackalberry Chobe was a fantastic experience! The rooms were very clean, the food was excellent, and their guides were personable, knowledgeable, and fun to travel with. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. While we were there, we went through Chobe 3 days, took a day trip to Victoria Falls, and had a river cruise. All of these outings were very well planned, and tailored to our specific interests. The menus also had something for everyone, and we were very impressed with the quality of the food. It was fresh and delicious. The views out of our rooms were beautiful, with wildlife and birds all around. All the staff was so friendly, and made sure that our stay was great. We highly recommend this lodge. I should also mention that it was close to Chobe park, so the drive was short, and their safari vehicles were very clean and comfortable.

Me, my husband, and two kids (ages 16 and 12) recently spent 3 nights at the Jackalberry Chobe in Kasane. We all loved it! The lodge staff were so warm and friendly and took such good care of us. OP, the manager, was particularly wonderful. Jackalberry has a lovely pool for afternoon siestas, beautiful spacious cabins on the water with cool air and every attention to detail. The game drives were fantastic — we saw so many animals, including lions! We loved the river cruise as well as an extraordinary day trip to Victoria Falls. I highly recommend Jackalberry Chobe and their wonderful team!

Our stay at Jackalberry Chobe Lodge was everything and then some. We were really looking forward to a unique experience on the Chobe with a balanced safari experience of land and water sightings, and our expectations were far surpassed.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this lodge is something very special. The setting is beautiful, peaceful, and feels like a true sanctuary in the heart of Botswana.
OP, the lodge manager, welcomed us with such warmth and care that we immediately felt at home. Her professionalism, kindness, and genuine hospitality were unmatched. She took the time to connect with us, and her presence made every day feel personal and meaningful.
Our guide, Robert, was exceptional. His deep knowledge of the land and wildlife, combined with his calm, attentive approach, made every safari unforgettable. We saw incredible wildlife, but even more importantly, we gained a deeper appreciation for the ecosystem and the rhythms of life in Chobe.
Every member of the staff contributed to an experience that felt seamless, generous, and heartfelt. The service was attentive without ever feeling intrusive, and the entire team went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable.

Jackalberry was such a beautiful and memorable place to stay in Kasane. Set right on the Chobe River, the luxury tents were comfortable, air-conditioned, and made us feel completely immersed in the surroundings.
The infinity pool overlooking the river was the perfect spot to relax between drives (and watch Hippos in the water! ), and sitting around the fire pit at night was a lovely way to unwind and take in the day.
Botswana truly has some of the best animal sightings in Africa-we saw huge herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras and water buffalo, all with incredible river views. Our guide Joe was amazing — caring, knowledgeable, and determined to make each drive memorable. He even found the cats we were hoping to see, and shared so much about Botswana’s culture and history along the way.
The staff, including Tebby, Miss B and baretender Blackie to name a few, were incredibly warm and attentive, happily accommodating any request. The food was delicious every day, and the traditional Christmas Eve feast was such a thoughtful and memorable dinner.
Would highly recommend when planning your next stay.

Stayed at Jackalberry Tented Lodge with my daughter and 10-year-old granddaughter, and we all absolutely loved it. The tent was spotless, very comfortable, and the air conditioning made it a perfect retreat after activities.
The food was consistently delicious, with plenty of variety and everything cooked to a very high standard. Mealtimes felt relaxed and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
The safari activities were the highlight of our trip. The boat cruise on the river was unforgettable, with fantastic wildlife sightings and the most beautiful sunsets. The morning and afternoon jeep safaris in Chobe National Park were equally amazing – we saw African painted dogs, lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hippos, and many other plains animals.
A very special thank you to our private guide, Joe, who took care of us from the moment he picked us up at the airport to our departure. His knowledge, patience, and warm personality made the entire experience truly memorable.
Jackalberry Tented Lodge gave us a magical family safari experience, and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kasane.

Jackalberry Chobe was a pleasant surprise, the photos online do not do it justice. Most staff where friendly and accommodating. The rooms where delightful and ours faced the river, and there was always something different to see. Our waiters where beautiful and did an exceptional job. The guide 'Ashley' was excellent and provided us with an unique experience. Thankyou.

Our stay at Jackalberry in Chobe was pleasant and comfortable. The rooms were lovely and spacious, the staff friendly, and the lodge sits right on the river with beautiful views. The game drives were good, special mention to Justice our fantastic guide who was very knowledgeable, and the boat cruise which was a fun highlight. The food was okay, not the best we had on our trip, but it did the job. Wasn’t expecting it to be so close to town but overall, a good base for exploring Chobe 😊 special thanks from Yasmin & Ashley.

Had such an incredible stay at Jackalberry! We were warmly welcomed on arrival and even upgraded to a room along the river for free. We saw hippos and small crocs from the balcony at night. The safaris were absolutely incredible, with our guide LB knowing all the perfect spots to see the wildlife. Special shout out to OP and DK for being such kind and devoted hosts.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Jackelberry. The staff were so sweet and helpful. Opi and LB and all the rest were very hospitable. We had great game drives with LB and saw amazing wildlife. The birds beside the Chobe river are beautiful and we saw several lions. The rooms are very comfortable and we love the mosquito netting around the bed. The food was excellent and it was a fantastic experience!

Wonderful lodge right on the river in Zimbabwe. The tents were lovely and the staff are incredibly friendly. The food was amazing you can’t beat the bar that’s always open. Our guide Joe was incredible on our drives through Chobe park, he was very knowledgeable of the area and wildlife and handled the jeep like an expert! The views of the river are unbeatable and you are guaranteed to see MANY animals in the park. Highly recommend this lodge and safari experience.

Unexpectedly close to town. Very quiet and relaxing tents are spacious and clean. You actually have climate control in your tent which is a pleasant surprise The food is good. Breakfast is fruit and toast or muffins. Lunch is a single menu, dinner is a choice of items. The fire pit is fun to visit where you can talk with other guests and view animals at a feeding station.

Staff Outstanding. Food Excellent. Glamping with screened tents with sides closed, and excellent food options for vegetarians. The people were so nice. We did several game drives in our Chobe National games Reserve. Excellent guide. We bounced along bumpy roads for 3 hours but animals were worth it. We also did a sunset river cruise which was very pleasant with wine and snacks. We saw hippos, water buffalo, elephants, impalas, monitor lizards, crocodiles, lions and baboons and even one leopard hiding under a bush. A very pleasant stay there.

Our experience was phenomenal from start to finish. Omphile welcomed us at the outset and made us feel right at home throughout our whole stay. She even bent over backwards after we left and discovered our daughter had left a Bach behind and arranged transport at no cost to us in Zimbabwe.
The accommodation was stunning. We felt like we were in a treehouse.
The combination of the vehicle and river safaris were perfect. The river safari far exceeded equivalents available in Victoria Falls.

A fantastic couple of days with lovely hosts, guides and exciting game drives. I took some of my favourite elephant sunset photos here. I can not recommend our lovely treehouse accommodation and meal and drink service highly enough. Nothing was too much trouble and OP and her crew were so welcoming they made us feel like we were in our second home.

The Jackalberry Lodge in the Chobe National Park was amazing. The staff were always helpful, friendly and willing to please. OP the camp manager always greeted you with here huge smile.
The tents were air conditioned and comfortable and your view was fantastic. Hippopotamus right down in the water below. Jackalberry Lodge has everything you need for a relaxing stay and it’s great to return to after a day out on safari. Our lodge also provided us with daily game drives and a super knowledgeable guide whose name was Asley. I would highly recommend this lodge.

A fabulous place to start our 50th birthday celebration safari! Beautifully appointed rooms with comfortable beds, air conditioning and a luxurious bathroom with claw foot bath (a definite highlight). A resident hippo right off the balcony was a thrill each evening. In addition to the wonderful facilities the service is what will bring me back to Jackalberry. The camp manager OP was fabulous. From our arrival briefing to a personal greeting after each safari drive, her energy was infectious and made us feel like valued guests from start to finish. Jacob was our server and could not of taken better care of us throughout our stay and not forgetting our amazing safari guide Asley who got us up close and personal with the most majestic sites in Chobe. A place I can't wait to visit again.

Our two night stay was brilliant. The lodge is quite exceptional, right on the Chobe River offering great views and exceptional food and beverages. Situated about 10 kms from the huge Chobe National Park (11, 700 sq kms) we were treated to some very good animal viewing of a wide variety of species often in large numbers. Our first afternoon/evening included a boat cruise on the Chobe River that offered very good elephant and hippo viewing. The lodge was very clean and all staff attentive and cheerful.
A note — Chobe can be very busy with large numbers of vehicles compared to other reserves we visited.
